You ask George if there's anything you can do to help.
"Uh... Well... I couldn't ask ya'll ta put yaselves at risk, y'know?" he tells you.
"But if these Cobra people stop you from passing out food, we're out of luck," Kumiko explains. "So it's in our best interest to help you."
"Alright, I'm gonna level witcha," George sighs. "I cain't be sure ya'll're on the up-'n'-up, y'know? Fer all I know, ya'll're Cobra agents tryin' to get into our organization or summin'..."
"B-but... we're not... I could never do something like that..." Rita cries.
"Now look what you've done!" Kumiko admonishes George. "You upset Rita! How could you?"
"Wha? But... 's true, y'know!" George counters.
"Hmph. Well, I know when I'm not wanted. C'mon, Kira, obviously these people don't need any help," Kumiko fumes.
Kumiko starts to storm off. George picks up his hat, dusts it off, and scratches his head. "Aw, wait. Yeah, we could really use a hand, if yer willin', at least 'til we get some help from the homestead. Uh... Ya'll... Ya'll can fight, right?"
You explain that you've only had a bit of combat experience against humans, but you've fought your share of demons.
"I'm the only one in my family that can summon demons, so I've had to fight off quite a few tamers," Kumiko says. "It's not much different than fighting demons."
"I've... mostly been avoiding fighting," Rita admits. "But I've fought off a few stray demons..."
"...Good enough," George says. "Stay on the backlines and outta the fight, ya'll'll be our last line o' defense. We got some tamers patrollin' fer stray demons. My team'll take point in case o' bigger trouble. And ya'll stay with the non-tamer's in case somethin' really weird happens."
"...OK," Kumiko tells George. "We'll still be able to get some food, though, right?"
"'course!" George tells her. "I'll make sure we put aside 3 packs fer ya."
"...I'm need to get food for my parents as well," Kumiko says.
"It's... s'posed ta be one per cust'mer, but... well, we'll see what we've got left at the end o' the day," George promises.
A few minutes later, the group of tamers returns. "All clear, George!" one announces.
"Great! Set up a nice, tight perim'ter. Keep any demons away. The non-tamers'll be here any minute with the food, and our cust'mers'll be comin' afterward. Oh, and ya'll say hi to Kira, Kum'ko, and Riter. They'll be watchin' our backs."
Several people greet you and introduce themselves. None of them will be particularly important later.
"Alright, Guardians, let's git 'er dun!" George cheers. No one else really responds. "...Too much?"
A few minutes later, a loading truck rolls up. A few people pop out and throw up a table. A few boxes and bags are brought out and stuck on the table. Within a few minutes, the first people begin showing up. The tamers greet them - you can tell they're sizing them up as they pass - then send them on their way. The non-tamers at the table hand them a bag and tell them to have a nice day.
At first, everything's nice and calm. "Where're those reinforcements...?" you overhear George muttering. "Summin' ain't right..."
As if on cue, one of George's tamers shows up from a block over. "George, we've got a lot of demons heading this way! There's berserk phones all over the place!"
"Wha? Aw, great. So that's their plan, then? Get a buncha demons ta do their work for 'em?" George yells angrily. "We're packin' it in, troops! Ya'll on the outer line do whatcha can to break them phones 'fore ya pull out - we cain't leave 'em lyin' around, and ya'll know them Cobras won't do it...!"
The tamer that delivered the news disappears around the corner to deliver the order. George and 4 of his tamers remain in front of City Hall. The non-tamers begin throwing their table and bags backs into the truck. Five other tamers come around a different street corner - you recognize them from the hospital.
A sixth tamer appears on top of a building across the street, the blond man who was giving orders at the hospital. He taps on his phone, and a demon - a young girl with wings (Avian Moh Shovuu, your phone tells you) - appears beside him. He grabs her ankle and leaps off the building. The demon bird-girl gently lowers him the ground in front of George.
"So, you're the one in charge here?" he asks.
"...I am," George answers.
"Good. I'm going to beat the ever-loving crap out of you!" the blond man announces. "You and your little friends!"
"...We ain't fallin' for a trick like that. I'll take you on my own. Ya'll keep his tamers away from our truck!" George orders his tamers.
"Fine. Change of plans. Crush them!" the blond man orders his tamers.
"Kira! Ya'll stay out of the fight - unless they get past my guys, ya hear?" George orders.
"...Oh? New blood? Mercenaries?" the blond man looks over George's shoulder. "...Hey, you guys were... Hey, you three! You aren't actually joining these losers, are you? Help us out, and I'll make sure you get a solid cut of the bounty! All you've gotta do is make sure that truck doesn't go anywhere. You don't even have to hurt anyone that doesn't go after you."
(A) Listen to George, stay on the rear line (B) Get in the brawl between the mooks (C) Swap positions with George, force him to the rear and duel Blondie (D) Join with Blondie and fight the non-tamers

You tell George you've got the rear covered. Nothing will touch the non-tamers so long as you're here. "OK. We'll play it defensively, then," Kumiko is talking to herself. "We outnumber them, barely, but we're protecting non-combatants, so neither side has an obvious advantage... We've got help on the way, but they might, too..." Rita disconnects her phone from the charger and hits the power button. "40% battery... Well, it's better than nothing. Demon Summoning Program, start up!" "Rita?" a familiar voice answers. "Rita, it's so good to see you again!" "Bast!" Rita says cheerfully. "Hmph. So, you managed to find enough strength to accomplish something on your own, then?" Vorvadoss' voice says. "W-well... I had help..." "Getting help from others is a form of power in and of itself," the other Vorvadoss tells Rita. "I... I think I understand," Rita says. "A-anyway, we're kinda about to fight... Could you call Grey for me?" "Oh, he's missed you!" other-Bast announces. A set of symbols flash across the screen, and suddenly a short, stocky, grey, humanoid, bulgy-eyed, bulbous-bodied, big-headed... thing pops out. Alien Grey, your phone tells you. A mage-type. Rita kneels down and hugs the demon, and it returns her embrace with a series of clicking sounds. "Kira." Vorvadoss calls for your attention, despite very clearly still being in Rita's phone as well. "Yes, there are multiple copies of me. Bast, too," he tells you, noticing your confusion. "More importantly, since you've got more skills than you can equip and more demons than you can sustain, I've created a network between you, Rita, and Kumiko." You ask what he means. "It's really cool!" Bast explains. "See, uh... basically, you all share one skill set - yours is the biggest - and you all share demons! And since you had the most, that makes you the leader. You can all handle two, so it works out perfectly! Funny how that happened..." "H-hey... If we're sharing demons..." Rita asks. "You won't take Grey, right?" "And I'm not fighting without Jambavan here," Kumiko says, summoning her bear-demon. About battles:
Battles can be won or lost in the prep screen! I'll always have a decent, well-roundedish formation set up at the beginning, based on what you're up against. But you may want to change things up a bit. Bring more Avians and Aliens if you think the enemy's going to be running around a lot, etc. By the way, if all your troops are defeated in battle... Game Over! For good. Being defeated in other ways - for example, losing all your non-tamers here, will have negative consequences, but won't end the CYOA.
Victory: All Cobra tamers are defeated Defeat: All non-tamers are defeated
Current Status (demons are listed on the second sheet) (A) It all looks good! Let's start the battle. (B) Uh... wait, can you change ____?

Oh. Right. There are people who don't know Devil Survivor's combat system...
So, basically. Standard SRPG map. Your characters - and enemies - for teams of three. A human leader and up to two demons. With some special NPC teams of 3 humans and lots of enemy teams of three demons, etc. If the leader's defeated, the team's down and out, but having the two side demons reduces the damage they take considerably. You can summon more demons from your stock to replace downed demons, there are revival spells...
So, the teams on the map. They've got healing skills they can use, they can move, they can attack, they can use racial skills. All demons have racial skills - some are active, some are passive, all are listed in one of the pages linked from the discussion page - that can be used. Turn order changes based on how many actions each team takes.
Combat. Attacking or being attacked brings you to a separate screen. All 6 (or however many are alive/not-disabled) each get a turn to attack or use a non-racial skill. Landing crits or hitting an enemy's weakness may give you an Extra Turn, or remove theirs. One more attack to try to ice the enemy leader. Unless he's immune to ice, then you should probably try to kill him another way.
Uh... Yep. Any questions?

You start fiddling with a new menu that's appeared on your phone. It's not exactly hard to figure out how to work it. You send Lilim White to Kumiko, and Lilim Black to Rita. Then, you start assigning them skills. Rita and Kumiko look down as their phones beep, notifying them of the changes.
"OK... This is... pretty convenient, actually," Kumiko tells you. "Force Dance, Multi-Hit, that'll work... Oh, Race-O's going to be real useful here. It'll let me do more damage to other humans, right?"
"S-so, I just... hit this?" Rita asks, tapping a button. Lilim Black bursts forth.
"Hey! You're not Miss Kira!" Lilim Black says. "...Oh, there she is. So, I take it we're all working together?"
"Looks like it," Kumiko says, calling out the older sister.
"I'd prefer to be on the same team as my little sister..." Lilim White complains. "Whatever. So long as we're registered to Kira's phone, even if we fall in battle, she can just fix us up after things quiet down." She flaps over to Rita, hovering inches from her face. "Still, if you do anything stupid to get my little sister unnecessarily hurt..."
"I-I understand!" Rita promises. "Um... Kira...! Tell me what to do!"
"Oh, right. Bast said you're in charge, so... I guess I may as well listen to you. So long as you don't do anything stupid," Kumiko says.
(A) Hold your positions behind the non-tamers, wait to see what happens (B) Place yourselves between the non-tamers and enemies (C) Stay out of the fight, but get close enough to support the Guardians with the Lilim sisters' Affection spells

You stay on the steps to City Hall, since it gives a slightly better view. You should have faith in the Guardian tamers, after all...
...Or not. After a round of fighting, one ends up downed. A Cobra snatches his phone, throwing it to the ground and stomping it.
"Get out of here, Seth, you're no use without your phone!" one of the other Guardians tells him.
The other tamer hesitates, then takes a few step back. He joins in helping the other non-tamers pack up.
"We just need a few more minutes!" one tells you.
The Cobras now outnumber the Guardians 5 to 3, though one's lost both his demons and is pretty roughed up. The three Guardians are all fine.
Meanwhile, George and the blond man seem to be in a total stalemate. The blond man is clearly the stronger fighter, but George is shrugging off his hits like they're nothing. George's Pixie is keeping him healthy, while George's Garm is taking the offensive - George himself keeps jumping in front of attacks meant for his demons.
The blond man is staying on the offensive, striking out with the bird-girl, Moh Shovuu, from before. He also has a twin-tailed cat/woman hybrid - Beast Nekomata.
(A) Continue to wait (B) Split up, send (choose) to help the Guardians (C) Step in and help

You decide it's time to stop letting these Guardians make fools of themselves. You order Rita and Kumiko to attack.
Rita stays in the back and orders Grey to use his racial ability. The Cobra tamer with his demons defeated suddenly finds himself translocated next to Rita's team. "S-sorry!" she yells, punching a button on her phone. A bolt of electricity flies from the device, zapping the seedy-looking tamer.
"GwwAAAaaaGH! Why... you... little...!" he yells. Rita shuffles back, raising her arms defensively as he advances. "GWWAAAGH!" he yells again, as Lilim Black hits him with a second bolt. During his spasms, he loses his grip on his phone. It shatters a few feet away. "...OK, I'll... just... go."
While Rita deals with the weakened enemy, you and Kumiko charge into the heart of the fray. Well, "charge." Kumiko simply disappears, then reappears beside one of the enemies well ahead of you. Jambavan clonks the tamer's Snake Makara over the head. Lilim Black charms the tamer with Marin Karin, and the tamer turns around and finishes Makara off himself. Kumiko unleashes a flurry of blows at the man's other demon, a chicken-headed, snake-legged, otherwise-humanoid monstrosity, Fallen Abraxes. The attack doesn't do much. Abraxes launches a gust of wind at Kumiko, but Jamabavan steps in the way, shaking the wind off like a cool breeze.
You catch up and join the fight. Your summoning app warns you that Abraxes is physically resistant, but Angel's Force Dance blows him away. You finish the tamer off with a concentrated burst of fire and Pixie's electric shock. Pixie snags his phone while he tries to pick himself up and flies it to you. You smash it against the ground.
"Nice work!" George calls out. The blond man takes advantage of the momentary distraction to slug him in the face. "Oh, you l'il..." George mutters, returning to the fight.
The remaining Cobras realize things have suddenly shifted far, far in your favor. What was a 3-on-5 fight is now a 6-on-3 hopeless situation.
"We... we should go," one of the Cobras suggests.
"Yeah, that's... probably a good call," another answers.
"STAND YOUR GROUND, COWARDS!" the blond man calls. George takes the chance to return the favor from earlier, smacking him in the chest.
(A) Let the Cobras escape (B) Run them down

This isn't your fight. You signal Kumiko to break off pursuit. Rita breathes a sigh of relief. The three tamers disappear around the corner of a building.
"DAMN IT! You're ALL going to pay for your cowardice!" the blond man rages.
"We're ready to move out!" the non-tamers' leader announces. "Jump on the truck and let's roll!"
"Looks like yer li'l raid's over!" George taunts the blond man.
"Like Hell it is!" Blondie yells. Moh Shovuu darts forward, placing itself between George and his Pixie. Nekomata arches her back, hissing at Garm - the hound tackles her to the ground, separating from George. "You're wide open!"
"Wha-?" George starts, reacting too slowly. Blondie rushes forward, delivering an Anger Hit straight to George's face. George is sent sprawling several feet backwards. He slides to a rest, and doesn't get up. His demons wink out of existence, returning to his phone.
Blondie walks forward, standing over George's limp body. He rubs his knuckles. "Still alive? You're pretty tough. Shame you decided to side with the Guardians, we could use a hard head like yours."
You and the other three tamers start to close in on the blond man. He looks at you dismissively. "I'm not stupid enough to fight all of you at once. You win this round." He motions to George. "But let this be a lesson to you. Without your numbers, you don't stand a chance."
With that, the blond man turns. Nekomata returns to his phone, badly injured from Garm's attack. He motions to Moh Shovuu, and she flaps over. He grabs her leg and turns to fly off.
George groans and starts to force himself up behind the blond man. George raises his phone...
(A) Stop him (B) Do nothing
