Pixie stands back in case something happens in the ground-level so that she can message the other fliers. Rand takes Shep because medic. Allune takes Hyun'ji because we're tourists in need of a guide.

"Hyun'ji," Rand says. "It'd really help if we had someone familiar with the area with us."
"But...!" Eun'ji shouts. She seems distressed at the idea of being separated from her charge.
"Peace, Eun'ji," Hyun'ji says. "I'd say our comrades have earned our trust by now."
"But... Master, it's dangerous. If we must, then surely I should go instead?" she suggests.
Hyun'ji shakes his head. "I agree with Rand. You might not be able to find the range to use your bow as we enter."
Eun'ji bows her head. "...Understood... Master."
Mina pats her shoulder. "I'm not a fan of this idea, either. But... they can take care of each other."
Eun'ji glances at her in surprise.
"Shep, you're coming, too. Allune, I'd like you to carry him."
Shep's face blanches. "C-carried... b-by..." He trails off. "R-riding a horse is bad enough, you want me... t-to..."
"Would you prefer riding with Rand?" Hyun'ji suggests.
"Yes!" Shep blurts out. "Yes, yes very much! Actually I'd much prefer to walk but I guess that's not an option, huh?" He lets out a nervous, almost panicked laugh as he stares up at the tree, then climbs up on the wyvern.
"Um, what about..." Pixie says softly. She points to herself to finish the sentence.
"Wait here. If the ground team needs to relay a message, it's going to be your job to deliver it," Rand says.
"Me? Delivering messages..." Pixie whispers. "I'll... try..."
With that, Rand and Allune take off, carrying Shep and Hyun'ji. They fly up and up, lapping around the tree as they climb in search of an entrance. Finally, they notice a pair of small windows well up above. They should be just large enough to slip through, minus Hector, if they split up. Or maybe they could try to sneak in for a closer look. Not far from the window, they spot a sizable balcony that has a much larger opening.
(A) Try to sneak towards the windows (B) Dive in through the windows (C) Land on the balcony (D) Go wide around the tree and look again
I also still need a commander for the ground team.

Rand gestures to the balcony. He swoops down and Shep immediately jumps off. Allune drops Hyun'ji off as she joins him.
Inside, Rand sees dozens of bodies. Some wear the same armor of the enemies they were chasing. The others, in traditional Valmese dress, appear to have been the tree's defenders. Nearly two dozen enemies still standing, including their heavily armored commander - though his wyvern-riding guardian is nowhere to be seen. A trio of spearmen are closing in on a lone standing defender near a large door, opposite the enemy commander, a woman with long, silver hair. She's dressed similarly to Eun'ji, wearing a green cheongsam-style dress with silver trim. She's wounded, barely able to keep her feet, somehow managing to hold onto a large axe and swing it at anyone who approaches.
A group of archers take aim at her. She struggles to raise her axe to cover her vitals in preparation.
"Soo'ah!" Hyun'ji calls out, a hint of panic in his voice. The archers, startled by the shout, fire wildly. Two shoot wide and barely miss the woman. The other two look back, firing their arrows wildly.
Five axe fighters come running to engage the new arrivals, while a group of four swordmasters and two myrmidons form up behind them. Two clerics and a dancer remain near the armored leader as he begins to slowly stomp towards Rand. Three sages remain behind him.
(A) Nope. Jump back out. (B) Stand your ground! (C) Break through and rescue the survivor. (D) Charge the enemy commander.
"Me...? The commander?" Alice asks.
"Of course," Rand had said. "You managed to get that group to save me before. You just have to do it again, right? Follow those spirits you're always talking about."
Alice pauses, then smiles weakly and nods. "OK. I can do that."
She begins scaling the stairs, with the others close behind her. Looking up, they seem to stretch on for miles...
(1) Full sprint! (2) Set an even pace. (3) Slow and steady, the enemy might have set a trap.

How large is the room, and how far away is the damsel?

The room is big enough for the army to fit comfortably. The damsel is about 1.5 moves away.

Rand looks at the enemy's formation and realizes there no chance of reaching the woman with the axe - Soo'ah, apparently - with all these enemies. Not with the troops he has with him. He realizes he needs to retreat, but just leaving feels wrong. He thinks for a moment, then grabs Shep. "Shep, Rescue Staff!"
Shep blinks. "Ah!" He quickly pulls out a different staff and waves it at the woman as a swarm of arrows go flying at her.
In an instant, she appears at Shep's side. She blinks with confusion, axe raised defensively.
"Soo'ah!" Hyun'ji reaches out to grab her.
"Hyun- Lord Hyun'ji?" she asks, weakly.
Rand ignores their reunion, busy considering the next move. Back out? Even with her safely at their side, there's still a problem. One wyvern, one hawk laguz, and three people... Ah. This is a problem. It took a bit to get from the ground all the way up here. They were going slow and safe... How long to take someone down and back up at full speed... A minute? Maybe a bit more? That's a long time for whoever stays behind.
What about doubling up? Those archers... with how hard it already is to fly up here, once the archers get in range, Hector's going to be easy prey for their arrows. And that lady wyvern rider isn't around, but if she's lurking nearby it could be a problem. There has to be something that can be done...
(A) Leave someone behind and come back for them (choose who) (B) Leave 3 people behind and drop one person off (choose who) (C) Stand your ground and yell for Pixie (D) Risk carrying 2 people on Hector (E) Screw it, time to fight

"Pixie, we need you!" Rand calls out the window. "Defensive positions, everyone!"
Hyun'ji readies his sword, casting a quick glance at Soo'ah. "Can you fight?"
She shifts her weight, struggling to heft her axe. "Yes... I think."
Shep stands behind her, treating her wounds as quickly as possible. "You need to be careful, I won't be able to do much more to heal you in the heat of battle. Your injuries are going to require some more intensive treatment later."
She nods. "Easier said than done, but I'll do what I can."
The axe fighters come rushing at the group. One goes straight for Shep, but Rand jumps in the way, shielding the priest before returning a chop to the back of the fighter's shoulder. He drops as Rand turns to the next fighter. He takes a hit to his chest before answering the blow in kind, killing the enemy.
The others all go after Soo'ah. Hyun'ji cuts off one of the enemies, easily slicing through one of his arms. The fighter staggers back, stunned, before collapsing. Allune intercepts another, dropping down and kicking him in the flank. The fighter turns his attention from Soo'ah to Allune, slashing her leg before she can retreat. She kicks out with her other foot, pushing herself up and away while the fighter recovers.
The last fighter makes it through to Soo'ah, but finds Shep has her back in fighting condition. She lowers her shoulder and tackles the fighter as he swings, pushing him back with only a small wound herself. When he gets knocked back, she quickly swings her hips around, the axe following. She nearly cleaves the man in half with the force of the blow, and has to spend a moment wrenching her axe free.
The four swordmasters and myrmidon prepare to charge, as well as the surviving fighter. The archers move into position to fire, and the enemy's commander in the heavy armor as starts marching forward as well, followed by his entourage.
Rand risks a glance out the window and sees a large, climbing as quickly as she can on her way up. Still no sign of the others.
(A) Stand and keep fighting a bit longer (B) Risk someone jumping for Pixie to catch (choose who)

"She's not going to make it in time..." Rand mutters. "Oh, this is a bad idea. Very, very bad idea... Hector! Take Shep and Soo'ah!"
Shep's mouth tightens into a nervous frown. He starts to protest, then looks at the oncoming crowd.
Soo'ah looks at the wyvern in surprise. "I don't... know how to ride," she admits.
"It's simple," Hyun'ji assures her. He clambers onto the mount and reaches down, helping pull her up. "Allune, take care of Shep, please."
"Ah, I real-" Shep begins.
He gets cut off as Allune grabs his shoulders in her talons and carries him off, diving straight down. Everyone can hear faint screaming coming from him as the pair make their way down.
"This is such a bad idea...!" As the enemies begin to charge forward, Rand turns and hurls himself off the balcony. A few arrows whiz past him as he falls. "Pixie! Catch me! CATCH ME!" he yells.
Rand aimed carefully at the laguz, but she dodges as he goes flying towards her.
"PIXIE!" he yells as he passes.
"Wh... wa... wah! Wh-wawhwah!?" she yells in a panic.
Rand watches the ground getting closer and closer. He passes Hector as he glides down, careful with his cargo. He hears Hector let out a roar. He sees Allune dropping Shep off, then looking up, seeing him, and rushing to take off again. Then he feels a pair of talons sinking hard into his back and shoulders, hears panicked squawking, and feels himself start to slow down. Allune weaves out of the way as he continues falling slower and slower. But he's falling too fast, and his armor seems to be too heavy.
The landing is harder than he'd like, and he feels a harsh pain in his leg. A moment later, Pixie lands on top of him, hard, barely managing to transform back into her smaller, humanoid form to avoid crushing him.
"GAH!" he yells, instinctively trying to grab his leg, but finding himself stuck under the bird.
"A-are you... OK!?" Pixie yells. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...! I didn't... think you... I'm not... I'm sorry!""
"H-hey, we're all... alive," Rand grunts. "But, jeez, that really, really hurt...!"
"I'm... sorry..." Pixie repeats.
"Rand! Are you OK!?" Shep calls as he runs over. "Hang on, you... Oh, wow, this is pretty bad. Probably best you don't look."
"Is this going to take long?" Rand grunts. "There's still a battle..."
"You, uh... You're not going anywhere for a while," Shep says. "Pretty sure this is broken."
"Damn it..." Rand says.
"It's my fault..." Pixie mutters.
(A) Pixie, go call Alice back. We're already too late. (B) Send everyone up the stairs after Alice's group (C) Send everyone back up to attack from the balcony when Alice arrives (D) Let's all of us just wait and let Alice handle it

"Sorry I can't go with you," Rand says. "But I can barely stand, much less fight. I'll be fine. You should all head up and help Alice. Just in case."
"I'm going with them," Soo'ah says.
"You're not in any condition to fight, either!" Shep tells her. "Besides, we can't leave the prince alone. Someone has to watch him, so it might as well be you."
"I'm not... You are not the one in charge of me!" Soo'ah says.
"But I am your prince, and you shall do as I command," Hyun'ji says. "Soo'ah, remain here and protect Prince Rand with your life."
"...Fine..." Soo'ah says.
As Pixie, Allune, Shep, and Hyun'ji climb the tower, Soo'ah and Rand stay behind.
Alice and her group finish climbing the stairs after what feels like hours. At the top, they find a large, wooden door carved from the tree itself. "Right, so I just have to... command our forces. Rand does this all the time, right? So I just have to do what he would do."
Alice cautiously peeks through a small crack in the damaged door.
Inside she sees dozens of bodies strewn across the floor. An axe fighter and four archers gazing off of a balcony on the side of the wall. They're looking down at something. That heavily armored man from before is standing nearby, staring out at the sky, with a dancer close at his side. A trio of spearmen lie in wait right by the door, with three sages close behind them. Two clerics, four swordmasters, and a pair of myrmidons are wandering among the corpses, inspecting them. One of the clerics is staring at one of the bodies in particular, a disappointed look on her face. She sighs and turns, back to looking through the others.
(A) Rush in quick while they're distracted (B) Attack slowly and calmly (C) Screw it, leave (D) Open the door and form a defensive position, they only have one way out
