"Oh, no. After you," you offer.
"Don't be ridiculous," Sara says. She still can't stop smiling.
No, you insist. You want to hear her speech! She spent so long getting it ready and had a big plan and everything...
"Absolutely not! You already proposed, there's no taking it back!" Sara says.
You do take it back. If she wants to get married, she's going to have make a proposal herself. And, hey, no need to be so worried about the results, right?
"Fine!" Sara says. She giggles like a schoolgirl, climbing out of bed and pulling you to sit on the edge of the bed. She grabs her backpack, rummages a bit, then walks back over to you.
Sara kneels at your feet, her face flushed red and wide grin on her face. "K... K-Kira. Kira Dreama." She pauses, taking a deep breath. "Kira. I know I'm not the perfect girlfriend. But you've never tried to make me choose between you and my job. And you always try to support me. And, you... You make me feel so loved, every time I get to be around you. Every moment I spend with you, I feel your warmth. Still, I know... I can't always be there for you."
Sara produces a pair of small golden rings. "That's why I want you to take this. I want you to take one as a symbol of my love. To wear it, to keep it with you as a reminder of my unending devotion. And I will wear its twin to show the world that I am eternally yours. That we are bound together, now and forever. They will be a symbol, a pledge. A pledge that I will be your wife, and you will be mine." Sara takes your hand. "Kira Dreama, will you accept this ring?"
You don't have words. You do the best you can and nod back. Sara slips the ring on your finger. A perfect fit - of course. Sara would never be so sloppy as getting the wrong size. You can't help but gasp, staring at the token.
Sara places the other ring into your palm. "And, Kira Dreama. Will you allow me to wear this ring, its twin? It will be a symbol that we are bound together, now and forever. It will be a pledge that I will one day become your wife, just as you will be mine."
Sara offers her hand for you to place the ring, but you pull away. You slide off the bed and kneel with her, clasping her hands in your own. "Sara Lyon... I love you. With every fiber of my being, I love you. I know how much you care for me. I see how much you take care of me. I would be so lost without you. Even when I stumble, you're there to pull me back. I don't know how I could live without you. I never want to find out. From this day forward, I'll never let you go..."
You slide the ring onto her finger, and Sara bursts into tears. The two of you sit on the floor of the dark room, holding each other in a tight embrace, crying and laughing and smiling until you finally start to calm down.
Your Fate with Sara has reached Rank 5! You have forged a bond which can never be broken... You can now fuse the demon Hero Argos!
(A) "You promised to come to my training with me. Come on, let's go see Waite." (B) "I have to go train. Be looking forward to when I come back." (C) "Forget Waite, we need to go show everyone..." (D) "Bed. Now. And lose the dress."

"...Come on, let's go!" you say.
"Huh? To... where?" Sara says. "It's the middle of the night..."
"You promised to join me for my next round of training!" you remind her. "And I really want to share this experience with you..."
Sara smiles. "Alright, alright. Let's go."
"And wear the dress and 'cat ears,'" you command.
Sara sinks a bit. You promise her it makes her look unreasonably cute. She eventually agrees, if only to shut you up.
You make sure to wear a pair of fancy sandals instead of your usual shoes... which you realize you left sitting out in the back yard, since you were so excited to play dress-up with Sara earlier.
You head out into the night. A few stupid, stray demons cross your path. With Sara at your side, you easily obliterate them. The two of you follow the now-familiar path to the river.
You arrive to see a gossamer, feminine figure sitting on the edge of the docks. Waite's white dress and bright pearls shine in the moonlight. Without looking back, she summons a geyser of water that shoots her into the air. She lands gracefully on a barrel, turning and casually crossing her arms and ankles. "Hello, there, Kira. You did well in your little sparring match earlier. Though you had me worried for a moment." Waite gives you a glare. "If you'd actually lost against someone without magic, I would've punished you for it. Hmph... You had such trouble, perhaps I should, anyway?"
"Punish her...?" Sara asks. She moves slightly ahead of you, between you and Waite.
"No, I suppose a supplementary lesson will do. Kira, dear. Watch carefully." Waite taps a toe on the dock, and streams of water leap out. They coil around your wrists, neck, and ankles. You see the same happening to Sara. She struggles against it, but you know it's pointless. Waite, barely twitching a few fingers, drags you both in front of her barrel, then yanks you down to your knees.
"What are you-" Sara demands.
"Shhhh," Waite says. She casually presses a finger to Sara's lips to shush her. "Be quiet, dear, I'm talking with my apprentice." She turns to you. "Were you going easy on your girlfriend, perhaps? I taught you this binding spell for a reason. See? She's not hurt. And the battle was over in a second. Because I used the element of surprise. You should have taken advantage of her forgetfulness to use a more advanced spell while she wasn't looking, one to disable her instantly. Understand?"
You nod as best you can.
"You were lucky she hesitate long enough for that mine to work. Lucky, not skilled. But! I don't expect you to draw such advanced sigils quickly yet. You lack the experience. And that was your first time using your feet, wasn't it? I'll give you some praise for thinking of that." Waite leans down to stroke your cheek. "Good work, apprentice."
"Will you let us go now?" Sara asks.
"Oh, I don't know," Waite says with a teasing tone. "I quite like the way Kira looks on her knees. An apprentice belongs beneath her master, after all. And you..."
"Hrk...!" Sara lurches downward.
Waite plants her foot on the back of Sara's head. Her tone is dark and ominous. "If you're going to be training with us, first you need to understand your place. Kira has potential. But you? You're not even fit to lick my feet. Do you understand?"
"...Yes," Sara says.
"Yes...?"
"Yes... ma'am," Sara says. "I get it. You're a powerful mage that can alter the very fabric of reality. I just have my phone. I'm like... a little kid playing with a stick, and you're a ferocious lion."
Waite smiles at her answer. "Very good. Very good. Like an obedient little puppy."
(A) "She's my puppy. Back off." (B) "Sara and I are equals!" (C) "I'm getting jealous, Waite. Pay some attention to me, too." (D) "Let's start the training already..." (E) "I'm so glad you two are getting along." (F) "Wow. Seeing how you treat me from the outside is kinda... uncomfortable."

"I'm so glad to see you two getting along," you say.
"Getting along...?" Sara mutters.
Waite rests her chin in one hand and reaches under Sara's chin with the other. She tilts your fiancee's head up to stare into her eyes. "Oh, yes, Little Puppy. We're getting along swimmingly. If we weren't, you would know." Waite cocks her head. "If Kira's interested in you, I suppose there must be something there."
But, you add, Sara's your equal. And just because Waite's stronger, it doesn't mean she can treat Sara like that.
"Actually, that's exactly what it means," Waite corrects you. "See, I could do whatever I wanted to her right now. Feels familiar, hm? And what exactly are you going to do to stop me?"
You... don't really have an answer.
"You're going to keep training and get stronger, obviously. You need to be strong enough to protect my new pet, don't you?" Waite glances at Sara, then looks back to you. "Or will you leave your fiancee's fate to luck?" Waite snaps her fingers, and all the chains shatter, falling to the ground as drops of water. "Ah, yes. I nearly forgot. Congratulations on your engagement, my darling apprentice, Little Puppy."
(A) "Thanks!" (B) "This is a weird way to say congratulations..." (C) "Cool. Training now?" (D) "Jealous?" (kiss Sara) (E) "Is that what this chain thing was about?" (F) "Yep! Now that we're engaged, dial back the flirting, please." (G) "...Wait, how do you know about that? How do you know about our fight!?" (H) "What the crap, Sara!? I'm the only one you're allowed to do that sort of thing to!" (I) "...Did you just call Sara your new pet?"

"Thanks!" you say. "But, uh... Can we get to the training?"
"Of course, my darling apprentice. Your enthusiasm is so cute..." Waite says.
Sara's eyes narrow slightly.
"We're going to be going for a swim, Little Puppy, so you should probably lose the dress..."
"Huh?"
"Or leave it on, I don't really care," Waite says.
"But I really like this dress... Ugh. Kira, why didn't you warn me about that!?" Sara demands. "You could've just told me to wear a swimsuit..."
Soon enough, the three of you dive into a portal. You emerge on an alien planet somewhat similar to earth, though the gravity's a bit higher than you're used to.
"Where... are we?" Sara asks, bewildered. She looks around, then up at the sky. "This... isn't Earth."
"Very good, Little Puppy! But do you know why we're here?" Waite asks.
"Er... So... we don't get disturbed?" Sara asks.
"Nope," Waite says.
(A) Pantomime a clock and hope she gets the hint (B) Pantomime an alien (C) Tell her the answer (D) Sit and watch (E) Tell Waite to stop with this game and get on with it, she's not here to teach Sara...

You hold your arms up and move one like a ticking clock, then slow it down.
Sara looks at you over Waite's shoulder. "Um... Time...? Hmmm... Oh! You're... talking about relativity? Time distortion?"
"Very good, Little Puppy! That's as much as I expect a non-mage to understand. I'm impressed you were able to understand my apprentice's clue."
She knew...
"Now, then! If we're going to practice healing magic, we need some injuries to treat!" Waite turns to you with a wry smirk. "You understand what that means, right? And why we needed an assistant...?" She glances at Sara.
(A) "Oh, Hell no, I'm not hurting Sara! Can't we use rats or something? I still have some hatred for the little bastards." (B) "Oh... You want us to spar some? That's fine." (C) "Can't we just grab some injured people?" (D) "You're going to take some turns, right?"

"Oh... You want us to spar some? That's fine," you say. You shift into a fighting stance and face Sara.
"Don't hold back, now," Waite says. She flops down onto the beach and stretches out. "Remember, the point's for you two to get a bit injured. Don't worry, I'll take care of things if you get too badly hurt."
"This is..." Sara trails off.
"What's the problem, Puppy?" Waite says. "You did say you wanted to fight her 100 more times or whatever it was."
"How did you-"
Waite waves her hand dismissively. ""I imagine this is a like a tropical paradise for you. A lovely little vacation. Now, get started. We've only get about 3 weeks to train."
You tell Waite she's free to join in the fighting.
"That would be rather one-sided," Waite promises. "But maybe I'll join in from time to time if the mood strikes me."
The next few days on this tropical, alien planet pass quickly. You get a lot of practice healing Sara, and sometimes yourself... and once Waite. It was barely a scratch, but it was something. She praised you quite a bit for doing it.
With the basics out of the way, learning this specific type of magic doesn't take anywhere near as long.
On your last day, Waite nods approvingly. "You've done well, Apprentice. Little Puppy's a really good motivator for you. Perhaps you're trying to show off for her...? Maybe I should bring her next time, too."
(A) Yeah, it was thanks to Sara! (B) No, it was all you, Waite. (C) Ha! It's all me!
