You tell Waite that going alone's dangerous... Next time she should take you along.

Waite raises a finger and taps the river. The water around her stops flowing as she floats in place. "Maybe. It depends on how long it is before I find another lead, and how well your training's coming along," she says noncommitally. "More than anything, I won't let anything happen to you... If I'm distracted trying to protect you, I won't be able to fight at my fullest. So you need to prove you can hold your own first. These people are far beyond what you are now. Remember, your phone is little more than a catalyst. You need to learn to cast at least some simple magic on your own power..."

Waite dives backwards under the water. She flips and launches herself gracefully out of the water, spraying you with water. She lands in your lap with a surprisingly soft impact. "That's when the real fun begins." She laughs softly and rolls off, taking a seat next to you. You notice that she's already bone-dry, though her little stunt left you soaked.

You ask if she's doing better.

"Ah? Oh, I'm still a bit tired. But I already said. I'll be fine with a few minutes of rest." She flops on her back and relaxes. "Now... I believe you've got somewhere to be? Run along now, I'll be fine."

(A) Alright then, if you're sure
(B) Call Sara and tell her you'll be late
(C) Call Sara and tell her she should come to the docks instead
(D) Invite Waite back with you so you can watch her

You tell Waite that as long as she's sure she'll be fine, you'll head home. She grunts in affirmation and gives you a dismissive wave. "Run along home, now. Your lover's waiting for you."

You ignore the fact you're still damp and waste no time heading home, moving out at a brisk jog.

You check your phone to see Sara's already on her way. You arrive just in time to see a military-marked truck pulling off as Sara waves after them. She turns at the sound of you running towards her, surprised you weren't already there. She tosses her bag down and spreads her arms out for a hug, which you gladly leap into.

"You're damp?" she asks in surprise. She laughs and pulls you in tighter. "Come on, let's go dry off. Can't afford to catch a cold, y'know."

She wraps an arm around your waist and you head in. As Sara pushes open the door, you're greeted by Elise, fresh out of the shower and dressed in a towel. She grins a cheeky grin as you enter. "Well, 'lo there. Here fer 'nother scrap? 'Cause-"

Sara places a hand on her shoulder and gently shoves her aside. "No. No, I'm not dealing with this right now. I'm on leave." She reaches over and scoops you up before you can protest. "That better not have been the last fresh towel, though, or I am going to kick your ass!" she calls over her shoulder as she carries you off.

Sara tosses you a towel and an old t-shirt. "Come on, get out of those wet clothes and dry off." She cleans herself up from your hug earlier while she waits.

You start to apologize for earlier, but she cuts you off. "We'll talk about that in a bit, OK? Before anything else, I need to check out your legs." She pre-empts anything you can say and shoves you onto the edge of bed. "You were walking funny earlier. Come on now."

She kneels down and starts examining you, pressing down and tracing along your muscles. Almost immediately, she lets out an annoyed sigh. "Seriously, I told you to take it easy... You've spent a month barely able to walk, and suddenly you're running around all over the place. Hmph! Don't deny it, I check your location every chance I get. I mean, I know it sounds paranoid, but I worry about you what with, y'know, the whole 'apocalypse' thing. And I know I'm not around to protect you, so... It's... Y'know..." As she talks, she stays intently focused on the task at hand, refusing to look up at you.

(A) Apologize
(B) Tell her you stay home as much as possible
(C) Point out you already proved you can take care of yourself
(D) Tell her you do what you want
(E) Agree that you wish she were around more often
(F) So I met another girl...

You'll have more chances to mention her later, if you want to wait.

A. And we'll tell her now,(if that's an option), but for the love of all that is holy do NOT word it like that.

Sorry, Sara. We didn't mean to worry you. Please forgive us. Also, there's this crazy chick named Waite. We're gonna go kill things together. Wanna come along?
