Well that time was my fault. Because APPARENTLY cutting his neck from the side during his beam attack makes your hitboxes overlap magically.

Same thing with Nakarkos, too.

I got an hour of sleep last night. Came home and tried to nap. Couldn't sleep. So. No. Need sleep. Maybe tomorrow.

Progress report. Decided alternate universe June could beat Bowser on the grounds that he is, in fact, a Monster-Hunter-esque monster. Learned Nakky's Great Sword is utter trash. Gonna try bumping it to 3 and check its upgrade, at least. One Heavy Armor Sphere from maxing my Astral armor. X is 6 now. And we took down Seltas Queen. I love Seltas Queen. She's so cool.

I've built a set for every element except dragon and have mostly upgraded my weapons.
Need to farm Nakky for that sweet Dragon Bowgun, and the weapon has two slots and my dragon charm has three, so I can also gem in TrueShot Up.

I just finished Shaggy Maggy's advanced village quest. So exhausting. Not because he's hard or anything. I just noticed he never closes his damn mouth and constantly does that Skull Kid headshake. Obnoxious to look at.
That's why I killed him. So he would hold the **** still.

"Nose inflates and becomes red. Butt becomes bright red. Breathes fart fumes that will set you on fire. Stands on hind legs and farts when entering rage. Will fart at nearby Hunters while being stuck on the Pitfall Trap. Farts more in rage."

Aerial Flicker Axe (para phial) is just dirty. We had a hammer guy, too. Mounted. Paralyzed. Stunned. Toppled. All in a row. Hyper Gypceros down in 3:39.
Also that was the 4th quest in a row where I spawned right in front of the monster.

You know what's dirtier?
Deathprize SnS.
Oh God how quickly it paralyzes. The only weapon that works faster is the Kettle blower LBG since it rapid fires Paralysis Shots.

I can't find a good weapon for EX Storge mail. Maybe not the best, but it has light eater, insight, and guard, decent defense (like 10 points above astral?) and I'm almost out of meat.
It needs something that'll benefit from guard, but I don't like lances. So CB* or GS. But I can't find anything that... looks right with a white-gold-black (I can change the black) angel-themed armor set and also doesn't suck.
*I dunno what that picture's talking about. Aerial CB's the ****. Dat aerial element compression.

Use the Rife Roast function to cook meat at the Bistro.
Lance is good, and is surprisingly mobile with the charge and Striker Lance is great for dancing around a monster without tripping everyone like an LS Fade Slasg. Gunlance sucks though.
SnS is great, and you can use the Shagaru weapon for it since SnS is the second best elemental Blademaster weapon. GS block isn't that good since it eats through sharpness like crazy and GS is a sort of one-track pony (especially Aerial style) so it might get a bit boring after a while.

No, I've been using the rife roast. I'm out of raw meat. And down to... like, 30 steaks. I guess I could do some easy farming quests to get more. But I'd rather kill an elder dragon several times and turn it into a set of armor. Efficient problem solving.
GS's simplicity is... charming, really. It's so nice to just... not worry about form so much, and just beat the everloving crap out of a monster. I know the guard chips at the sharpness. Badly. I'll live. It's also only a partial guard, but the Guard skill fixes that. Mostly.
I don't really want to use lance, because A) you use it, and B) in my experience, it's worse about tripping up your co-hunters than the LS. In fact, I'd put it at second worst behind Insect Glaive. I don't need that complexity in my life.
I really should give SnS a chance, though... I love both forms of the CB. Love the switch axe. So I'd probably love SnS.

Also, EX Storge has 3x 2-slots. So preferably I need a weapon or charm with 1 slot, so I can set in basically any 1 skill. I've picked up plenty of good charms just doing hunts, but I guess I really should... ugh... farm for some. What was that quest again?
Alternatively, I have charms for +11Health, +10Atk/+6WaterAtk, or +10Mounting... I could say "**** subtlety and finesse" and just slot in 10 more attack.

Gunlance trips more than Lance, and I cannot count how many times I've been stublocked while using a Lance because it's so easily tripped itself.
For SnS, all styles are good, but Striker and Adept are probably the best. Both have a nice seven hit combo (Striker's is stronger) and the SnS Hunter Arts are great as well (except Round Force III, since unlock Round Force II it trips everyone around you).

I'd definitely put Gunlance at third for "Oh God I'm switching to a bow."

Gunlance lacks the mobility, damage, and dodging ability of the Lance and replaces it with slower attacks that trip everyone around you.
It's probably the worst weapon in the game, by far. Everything it does something else does much better in multiple categories. While SnS is a jack of all stats (that really belongs to the Charge Blade, with a good block, fast/slow attacks, and average mobility), the Gunlance only excels at turtling, but the Lance is just as good if not better than the Gunlance because of its counter attack, though the Adept Guard GL counter is a bit better than the Lance one, but it still trips everyone.
