Kiran shrugs. "I dunno. I didn't really have a big goal. I mostly just wanted to make with a bunch of different people, y'know?"
"Haha! Same." Arcadia continues to attack the food in an almost primal manner. "To be honest, I just wanted to make some friends while I'm on this ride too. And I, uh... haven't been doin' too hot on that, to give it to ya straight. But I'm still workin' hard on it!" Arcadia gives a little flex, which looks a bit bizarre given the two burgers in her fists. "So how many friends you made so far, hotshot? Tons, I bet? Wouldn't mind meetin' some of 'em myself. I trust the instinct of a loyal future underling of mine.
"Maybe... not so much," Kiran admits. "There's Natsumi and Buttons, but we've been friends for years. Somnis, too. She's basically my best friend. Kinda crazy, though. Natty's sweet, if a bit quirky. And Buttons acts tough but he's still pretty nice. Then there's Tia. She's kind of... naive, and I don't know her too well yet, but I think she's a good person. Who else did I meet recently? Dewey. Dewey is bo-o-o-oring. But smart. Fox and Katie seem really nice, and..."
Kiran goes on about a few more people.
Arcadia listens attentively. "Nice hearsay, Kiran! Makes me wanna know these people too. Y'know, even with the lame beach party you lied to me about and the whole tossin' me for no good reason deal... which I'm STILL pissed about!" Arcadia says aggressively, but in a kidding manner, pointing a fry in his face, "...you're a pretty good guy. I feel like I know my future goonie better now."
She only has one burger left.
(A) Yeah, sorry about that. We cool?
(B) Totally worth it though, right?
(C) You're still mad about it?
(D) I'd do it again. In a heartbeat.
(E) So, what now?

Arcadia smirks, taking Kiran's hand with gusto. "Totally. You got some weird decision-makin' sometimes... but you're a good person. Prolly. This date was cool as hell, Kiran!"
Arcadia finishes off the last of her meal, says some goodbyes, and heads home. Kiran heads back to his place. He finds Tia and Dogachu snuggled up together on the couch. She's still wearing her outfit from earlier. Even though she's fast asleep, she looks somehow sad.
Kiran tries to scoop Tia up and carry her to bed, only to find she's far, far heavier than she looks. "...Kiran? What are you... doing...?" she murmurs sleepily.
"I was going to carry you to bed," Kiran says. He cuts himself off before saying anything about her weight.
"Oh... I guess I should go to bed. Good night, Kiran..."

Kiran dreams of an empty field, full of dying grass. He keeps expecting something to happen, or something to appear. But everything is silent. Not even wind to shake the distant trees...
When Kiran wakes up, he finds Tia already getting ready to leave. She doesn't seem as upset as she did last night, but she doesn't exactly seem happy. "Hi, Kiran. I'm heading to the mall. For work. Um... Yep. Ssssee you tonight."

Kiran decides to take Dogachu on a walk. Dogachu doesn't seem particularly impressed with the progress. He normally walks himself.
Dogachu makes a point of walking well ahead of Kiran. Every time he starts to close in, Dogachu speeds up. When Kiran gives up and starts slowing down, Dogachu slows down to match, always staying just out of his reach.
"You makin' fun of me, you furry little punk?" Kiran asks
"Bark!"
"Seriously? Come on, slow up. I'll brush your coat. I know that's hard for you without opposable thumbs."
Dogachu drops back to be almost within arm's reach. It's something...
Kiran makes sure to brush him and give him a few treats once they get home. He pulls off enough loose fur to make about 20 coats, and Dogachu's still a poofy ball of poof...
Kiran's Understanding increased by 1!
Time to decide what to do for the afternoon.
