Kiran heads to the Robotics club while sending a text message. "Tonight's good. I'll pick you up after clubs? And you better not just be teasing calling this a date or I'm gonna be crushed, Sweetheart  " He gets a reply really quickly; as he tries to check it, he nearly gets bowled over by a pair of freshmen running out of the computer lab together. Wait, were those Somnis' statuemates? ,..Too late to chase them now. Zippy little buggers. Instead he sends checks the message before heading inside. It's unsurprisingly from Natsumi. "See you then, Sweetie ^3~<3" When Kiran heads inside, the club president is still fuming about that one candidate's speech. She's pacing about the room, muttering. "Ferret-looking ratfink weasel conniving lying..." Kiran wonders whether those two ran off out of fear, or if she's upset because there's almost no one else here and their exit upset her. She looks over at Kiran and seems to calm down. She's short, even for her age. Petite. Messy, blonde pigtails and glasses. Cute in a dorky sort of way. She's probably usually pale, but her face is currently flushed red. She adjusts her glasses before she speaks. "Uh... Hey. I'm Lisa. Welcome to the Robotics club. I don't think we've met." "I'm Kiran. So we build robots here, or...?" "Eventually, in the spring. For now, we're working on the fundamentals of programming. Here, I've got some programs set up to get you started." She puts Kiran in front of a computer with some weird game and starts floating between everyone. Kiran isn't really sure what this has to do with programming. It just seems like a bunch of logic puzzles. His phone buzzes with another message from Natsumi. "<>< I MUST HAVE FISH, MY LOVE ><>" He receives a second message before he can reply. This one's from Somnis. "Stealing your snake for the day sorry not sorry (she'll be back by midnight)" (A) OK, go get some and call me when you're ready to meet for ice cream (B) I'm not really in a fish mood today, how about we grab something else? (C) We'll hit up that one restaurant you like, then ice cream (D) How about we forget the ice cream and cook some together? I think I've got the stuff at my place (E) Hey, I'm serious about the date thing, OK? (1) K, just bring her back in one piece (2) Her curfew is 10 o'clock, young lady! (3) Why? (4) Put her back, Somnis |

Why would you try to simulate a date in a dating sim...? That makes no sense at all! It makes way more sense to further the intricate plot and fight monsters, right?

Kiran tells Somnis to have her back by 10 and promises Natsumi they can get some fish. He gets a message from Natsumi very quickly. "  " Somnis takes a bit longer. "You're not our mom, DAD! But srsly I'll have her home when we're done." Kiran gets back to work. Kiran gains a Knowledge. Kiran gives Natsumi a few extra minutes in case she needs to finish cleaning up after clubs, then heads over to the Art club. Almost everyone's gone, but Natsumi's still here with Leia, looking at some drawing she did. "We really stomped them, hm? I like the doofy expression on Kiran's face. Very fitting." Kiran takes a look. It seems to be a drawing of their sandbuilding competition. Kiran creeps up behind Natsumi and grabs her by the waist, hoisting her into the air for a surprise hug. "Well, I guess you don't want any fish tonight!" he teases. "Hey, Leia." Natsumi kicks her feet in a futile attempt to get free. Kiran shifts Natsumi into an easier-to-manage position and carries her off. "I'm borrowing this cutie. See ya around, Leia." "Bye, Leia!" Natsumi calls. She seems to have accepted her fate. When they get to the mall, they make a beeline for Natsumi's favorite restaurant. They get sidetracked by the mall's fountain. The statues are back...!? Oh, wait. No. No, these are actual statues... An officer nearby mentions that some vandals smashed the old statues Sunday morning. Some kind of cover-up, huh? Well, no. It's like they'd actually know what happened to the old statues, so that's the logical conclusion. She orders a bowl of fish ball soup. Kiran isn't entirely sure what he orders, but it has noodles and meat. And it tastes good. He's satisfied. Natsumi pauses chugging her soup with a satisfied sigh. "So, Kiran! We're doing a community art festival this Saturday. How would you feel about letting us paint you and modeling some body art for a huge crowd of total strangers?" (A) I feel great about it! (B) Only if I can decide the design. (C) Maybe... What's in it for me? (D) No, no thanks... (E) Hell no! (F) ...Y'know, Somnis owes me a dare... |

"I feel great about it!" Kiran says.
"Really? Heh heh heh..." Natsumi chuckles ominously. Kiran isn't sure he likes the sound of that laugh. "You're my third vic- volunteer! And I'll do my best to get Freya tomorrow! I asked Somnis, but..."
"She said no?" Kiran asks.
Natsumi nods. "Well, she said she'd think about it. But I don't think she'll agree."
A grin spreads across Kiran's face. "We'll just see about that."
"Oh?"
He pulls out his phone and taps a few buttons. He sends a message to Somnis. "Hey, remember how I never did give you that dare? I dare you to do that thing for Nat!"
"Srsly?" Somnis messages him back.
Natsumi snatches Kiran's phone. "Yep! In a bikini!"
It takes several minutes, but Somnis finally replies. "Fiiiiiiiine. I guess I owe you kinda big time. But now we're even!"
"You aren't seriously going to make her wear a bikini, are you?" Kiran asks.
"Nah. But if she thinks she has to and then finds out she doesn't, she'll feel way less embarrassed when the time comes, y'know?" Natsumi grins at him.
"I... guess?"
Natsumi returns to her soup with gusto. She seems very happy about the evening so far. Very happy. She can't stop smiling.
Kiran finishes eating and head to the ice cream parlor. Kiran gets a cone of mango flavor. Natsumi gets a small cup of green tea ice cream. Kiran pays and joins her at a table.
Natsumi pauses after a few bites. "So... Date, huh?"
"Huh?"
"I called this a date to tease you, but you insisted on calling it that. So...?"
(A) It's because I'm asking you out!
(B) To tease you back.
(C) No particular reason. It just feels like a date, y'know?
(D) Friend date!
(E) I-it's not like I like you or anything!
(F) (Pull a Natsumi on Natsumi and give an evasive answer)

"So... what?" Kiran asks.
"So... do you... Erm..." Natsumi actually seems a bit flustered for once. Kiran waits for his opportunity, then boops her nose with his ice cream cone. "Heek! Kiran...!"
Kiran chuckles as she tries to lick her nose clean. "It's just a friend date. I mean, i-it's not like I like you or anything." He folds his arms as best he can without messing up his ice cream.
"I'm not sure how to take- GAH!" Kiran cuts Natsumi off with another dab of ice cream. "...Mmm, that's actually pretty good."
"Hey, so... um... I've been meaning to talk to you about-"
"The petrification thing right?" Natsumi interrupts.
"Yeah, I-"
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I'm still curious what Somnis did to get petrified, but..."
"Well, I was-"
"Oh, yeah. You're welcome."
"But you-"
"Took care of it, yes. Sorry I didn't stick around to let you sing my praises, but the police were showing up and I figured it was time to go."
"But there was this-"
"Hey, did you notice that... um... the whole fountain statue is different? So I guess the anti-petrification spell affected more than just Somnis! But, wow, for so many people to have been petrified in one place. It must've been a really strong curse. I should purify the area sometime. But! I kinda noticed something. If a bunch of people got un-petrified, shouldn't that have been big news...?"
"...Huh?"
(A) ...You're right. That is weird.
(B) OK, great, but I'm trying to tell you about another world!
(C) Maybe the police are holding them for questioning...?
(D) Let's ask Somnis' mom about it.
(E) I'm sure it's fine.
(F) LET'S BREAK INTO THE POLICE STATION.
(G) Stop talking and eat your ice cream.
(H) Maybe it was just Somnis and those other 2, and the other statues just got messed up and replaced...?

Kiran nods. "OK, great, but-"
Natsumi looks taken aback. "It's not great! It's-"
"Natsumi!" That got her attention. He hardly ever uses her full name. "I'm trying. To tell you. About another world."
"Hmmm...?"
"And there were these portals..."
"Mm-hm?"
"With monsters and keys and stuff," Kiran says.
"Mm."
"And these giant snake things that turned us to stone!"
"Hm."
"Hm?" Kiran echoes.
"Hm," Natsumi repeats.
"Hm."
"Hmmmmm..."
"Mmmmmm..."
The two harmonize for a bit. They get some weird looks from the other customers.
"Hm. I guess you saw some stuff then. I was really hoping you wouldn't accidentally wander into the other world or anything," Natsumi says.
"What, you know about it?" Kiran asks.
"Yep. For a few weeks, anyway."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"'Cause it's dangerous. How do you think I got hurt? I got tossed into the other world without my key - you know what those are, right? Good - and a monster attacked me."
"All the more reason for you to have told me!" Kiran exclaims.
"I would've told you...! Eventually..." Natsumi flashes a weak smile.
Kiran sulks. "That's so like you..."
"Sorry?"
(A) So, what sort of things do you do in there?
(B) How'd you get tossed in without your key?
(C) (sulk harder)
(D) You fixed us by doing stuff in the other world, huh?
(E) How long have you known?
(F) Why did Somnis know and I didn't?
(G) ...So I've been having these weird dreams, and I think they're related to the other world...
(H) Oh, wait, what about the missing people?

"Huh? Somnis knows?" Natsumi seems surprised. "I didn't tell her. ...I didn't tell Buttons, either, but he found out. Like you!"
"What, he just stumbled in some day?"
"Pretty much. He apparently went through some of my old notes, figured some stuff out, then came in and drug me out when I went missing," Natsumi explains.
"Hey, wait. If you didn't want me to know about this, why did you tell me to open the door to the mall? Weren't you worried I'd find the portal?"
"I did need you to open the door, though. At least, I thought so. And most people will just walk through portals without interacting with them, if they can't see the portals."
"Ah! You're right, I didn't see them until a few days ago, and I never... I mean... But what about the statue people? How'd they get in?"
"I... don't know," Natsumi admits.
Kiran taps his head as he thinks. "...Ah. I was able to push someone through without them seeing the porta.l"
"Weird," Natsumi says. "I guess you touching him was enough. So maybe the gorgons came through to our world and brought them back? I wonder if monsters can come through to our world...?" Natsumi trails off.
(A) Yes. There's one hanging out at my house.
(B) Iunno.
(C) Probably? It would explain, like... cryptids, y'know?
(D) I doubt it, but I don't have any better explanation
(E) Mmmm... No! What if those statue people were being pushed in, like you?
