The Dating Sim: Remastered

I've finished my day already.

Kiran wakes up to a new Hell.  Somnis has recruited Lamia to help physically drag him out of bed.  Why can't she just let him use his alarm clock...?  Every time he tries setting it earlier, Somnis just shows up earlier the next day.  Like clockwork.

Lamia's already made breakfast.  It's... not particularly good, but it is quite possibly the first time she's ever cooked and Kiran doesn't want to hurt her feelings and shovels it down.  She and Dogachu stand at the door and wave goodbye.  It's... kind of nice.  Almost like having a mom.  Even if she doesn't look anywhere near old enough.

Kiran walks to school with Somnis while she prattles on about today's student election.  Apparently that weird kid from the other night's running, along with Alice and Mattea.  And rumors are saying the weird kid actually has a chance.  Kiran can't help but shudder.

The day starts with an assembly for the candidates to make their big speeches.  Voting will take place a bit later.  Somnis says she has to take care of a few things before class and disappears while Kiran heads to sit with the juniors.  He notices Natsumi's missing and has a quiet freak out that maybe she got kidnapped again or turned into a statue or eaten by a giant snake or something.  But... Buttons is there and doesn't seem panicked.  If something was up with her, he'd know.  So Kiran goes back to the question at hand: who's he going to sit with?

Kiran takes a seat next Leia.  "Hey."

She seems to be busy talking to camera dude about work or something.  The Emo sits down on that guy's other side.  They keep talking about jobs.  Dewey takes a seat on Kiran's other side, but doesn't bother saying anything.

The principal walks out onto the stage and clears his throat.  "This morning, as you all know, we'll be doing speeches before voting for student president council- ahem.  Student council president.  Up first is Ms. Mattea Tarea."

Mattea walks out from backstage with a cheer-filled wave.  She's wearing an unusually stylish flame-red dress and heels today.  She walks up to the podium and begins.  "Hey, everyone!  Good morning!  For those of you who don't know me, I'm Mattea Tarea, senior.  And I've been a student council representative since my freshman year.  I know it's Monday and you'd all probably rather still be in bed, but I've got something really important to talk to you today.

"And that thing is fun.  Like I said, I've been on the council for as long as I've been in here.  And ever since our current president took over two years ago, things have gotten boring.  School functions like dances and yearbook and stuff feel like they're just being added as an empty box on a checklist to tick off.  A number on a budge spreadsheet!  There's no heart in it anymore!  That's what I'll bring back if I'm elected.  So... yeah!  Vote for me <3!"

The principal comes back out, clapping politely.  "Yes, well...  Our next candidate is Mr. Karl... Karl."

Karl has changed into a business suit and actually seems to have showered and combed his hair. He almost seems unrecognizable. Clearing his throat, Karl starts.


"I am proud to announce that I, Karl, have won the student council elections after winning an outstanding percentage of the vote. I will have to congratulate Mattea and Alice for running great campaigns, and the voters for electing me with great margins.

My first act as student council president is to increase student freedom. Using my new power, given to me by the voters, I will work on demolishing rules and regulations of all sorts. After days of negotiating with the principals and teachers, students will now have a much less restricted code of conduct, allowing beneficial actions like selling things on school property and chewing gum to be allowed. I have also coordinated the teachers together to make a new homework and testing plan that is fair and balanced, meaning that you won't get every single test or every bit of homework on one day. This consequentially will reduce the amount of exams and homework by a decent percentage, allowing for us high schoolers to enjoy the best time of our life.

I have also talked to the leaders of every single club, and will make sure that their funding stays high, and will encourage growth and competitiveness into clubs by providing cash incentives, generously donated to the school by my father, to the club who performs the best work. This cash will be split among all participating students, and a good portion will go to the club leaders, incentivizing people to create new clubs and engage people in our school system.

Using a new force of students who will report to the principal every Friday, all inconvenient things will be gone. If a stall is broken, if a water fountain won't work, if the watering cans in the Gardening Club aren't pouring out enough water, the principal will hear about it and quickly fix the issue, making the school cleaner and a better experience for all.

During lunchtimes, we will remove all restrictions on what you can do and where you can go. As long as you come back after the lunch period has ended, you can do whatever you want, as long as it is not illegal.

I have also decided to take the campaign promises of my opponents into effect. To make school events more fun, I will conduct optional student votes do people get what they want and ensure soul and community is returned to our school.

We have implemented new policies with my fresh set of eyes to make Newvit High School the best high school. Tell all of your friends that this school has been dramatically improved by a strong visionary student council president who fights for you, and watch as new students flock in to bring more money into our school system and increase this schools prestige.

Thank you for electing me president, voters. By checking Karl on the ballot, you have made so many great things happen. I hope to see you all soon, because I have shown a track record of listening to voters and implementing their ideas.

Once again, thank you. We are making this high school greater and greater by the day, with the cooperation of myself, the students, and the administration. May god bless you on this great day, for electing Karl as your president."

"The **** is this bull****...?" Buttons mutters behind Kiran.  "I have no idea who that lying twerp is.  And budgeting based on club performance...!?  Sack of **** mother****ing ****headed-"  This goes on for some time.  Buttons seems pretty upset about that idea.  It makes sense.  The Occult club isn't exactly known for delivering results.


The principal walks back to the podium to introduce the last candidate, then farts loudly.  Then stares down, angrily.  He picks up a rubber thing and holds it up.  Angrilier.  "Our last candidate is Ms. Alice Ekantha.  Her speech will be delivered by Mr. Tom Cat."

Tom comes out on stage with a small piece of paper and begins.  "Hello, everyone.  Alice is a bit busy this morning.  She's meeting with the heads of the Art and Volunteer clubs, so I'll be giving her speech instead.  I - er, Alice wants to keep this short and sweet.  She's been the president since her sophomore year.  In that time, she's streamlined and polished procedures and budgeting significantly.  Student out-of-pocket expenses for dances, yearbooks, and field trips have decreased by an average of 40%.  Clubs have extremely generous funding compared to other schools in the area.  Student satisfaction surveys report a 20% increase.  If you vote for Alice, you can expect more of the same."

After lunch, everyone lines up to cast their votes.  It looks like things are pretty close, so a few votes could make all the difference...
