Kiran quickly raises his wand and drops a massive box over the monster, stabbing into it with several glowing swords before the monster bashes its way out. Dewey and Emo both aim at the monster and unleash an icy wind and a bolt of fire. The monster screeches. It seems very annoyed - and badly injured. It's starting to get weaker. It grabs a statue and chucks it at Dewey, then dives forward and bites Emo's shoulder. The skin around Emo's arm starts to turn grey, slowly spreading and hardening.
Emo was inflicted with Delayed Petrification.
Karl throws a pop-tart at the monster's head. The snakes catch it and quickly devour it. The gorgon seems to feel extremely insulted by this gesture, and turns all its attention to Karl. Its eyes start glowing. It's preparing something...
(A) Attack
(B) Skill
(C) Defend
(D) Mount it
(E) Use Karl as a shield

Karl attempts to run away. He's outrunning the gorgon when Kiran, in what appears to be a blind panic, grabs him. Kiran tries to hide behind him like a shield. The gorgon immediately catches up and just coils around them both. She holds them with her face inches away, staring at them, tongue flicking out with a soft hiss.
Karl was inflicted with Bind.
Kiran was inflicted with Bind.
Karl was inflicted with Delayed Petrification.
Kiran was inflicted with Delayed Petrification.
Dewey takes a shot with a firebolt. Another screech. Emo takes a shot with Gale Shot. It seems less effective than the firebolt, but it still leaves another wound.
The monster seems to be getting a bit desperate... but so is everyone in Kiran's group
Dewey and Emo open fire on the creature again. She shrieks and flinches from the bolt's impact. She recoils from the cool wind, squeezing Karl and Kiran tighter. She reaches out and bites's arm Dewey, bringing him into to gradually-turning-into-a-statue party.
Kiran and Karl aren't going to last too much longer, either - they're both turning to stone, Kiran's injured, and Karl looks like he's on the verge of passing out from the damage. Fortunately, the snake is bleeding heavily and looks like she might collapse at any second.
Karl suddenly starts vomiting. Everywhere. All over the snake and Kiran. The gorgon is too injured to respond.
Emo and Dewey take aim together, blasting the gorgon once and for all. It lets out one last scream as it releases Kiran and Karl. It starts falling to pieces, breaking off into stone chunks and shattering against the ground.
Kiran pulls himself free and immediately looks to Somnis.
...She's still a statue. He's not sure what he expected to happen, but he can still feel himself turning to stone. Quickly.
(A) PANIC!
(B) Try to wipe the vomit off and calmly wait it out. It'll be fine, right? The thing's dead.
(C) Screw it, if I'm gonna be a statue, I'm at least gonna be in a cool pose.
(D) Try turning off the soul key, maybe...?
(E) (Hug the Somnis statue)
(F) Try calling Natsumi and Buttons on the phone?
(G) Try screaming for Natsumi and Buttons REALLY LOUD.

Kiran pulls out his phone and punches in Natsumi's number. "Hey, Nat-"
"I can't really talk right now!" she spits out. She sounds out of breath. She's probably running on her way over or something?
"OK, but you found a cure for the statue thing, right?"
"Yes, we're working on it! Ungh..."
"Are you OK?"
"I-" Her answer is cut off by a loud mooing sound, followed by a huge sound of metal clanging against metal. Wait, was that coming from the phone, or echoing through the mall...?
"OK, but just... hurry, OK? At the fountain!"
"Y- GAH!" There's a sound of a heavy thud, followed by what Kiran assumes is the skittering of a phone across the ground before the call cuts out. It sounds like she must've dropped the phone. She must've tripped or something?
Kiran trusts her and Buttons. They'll be here.
...Probably...
Kiran looks over at the Somnis statue. Well, not much else to do. He walks over, kneels down to her level, and wraps her in a big hug. "It's gonna be OK, Somnis. The thing that did this is gone, and our friends are coming..."
There's a loud cracking sound. Kiran jerks back in surprise as Somnis' arms suddenly wraps around him.
He smiles. He can't believe it worked...!
He waits for her to start moving again.
She doesn't.
She just wanted a hug that much, huh...? She must've been awfully lonely.
Kiran goes back to hugging her. "It'll be OK, Somnis," he repeats.

While Kiran's busy hugging Somnis-statue, Emo and Dewey go looking around for the source of the curse. And upset something. Two more gorgons come crawling from a little hidey-hole. And they're pissed. Kiran tries to go help, but Somnis' grip is too tight. "I, uh, seem to be stuck... Can you let me go, Sweetheart? Please? ...Guess not. Well... Good luck, guys!"
The two - also that third guy's probably hiding somewhere but whatever - do what they can to hold their own. A giant bull-headed, muscle-bound giant of a person, easily 12ft tall, comes charging through a wall. He bellows and starts attacking the snakes, too! They have a chance again! "Go, team, go!" Kiran yells.
The next thing Kiran knows, he's staring into Somnis' eyes. She blinks twice, then a smile spreads across her face. She pulls him into a tighter hug. Kiran takes the chance to look around. One fresh gorgon corpse lines the area, but the minotaur dude and the last of them seem to be gone. All of the other statues are starting to reanimate, as well.
"...Ew!" Somnis suddenly shouts. "Kiran, you're covered in... AH!" She yelps and shoves him back. He lands in the water with a splash. Ow. When he regains his composure, he realizes Somnis is in a different outfit, and quickly tucking a soul key into her pocket - as are the two kids she was guarding.
(A) Screw that! I'm gonna look awesome, and don't want my face seen!
(B) Do the same.
(1) Wash off, jump up, and give Somnis another hug.
(2) Go check on Emo/Dewey.
(3) Grab Somnis' ankle and pull her in with you.
(4) Start running back towards the portal.
(5) Swim to the edge and take a seat. Wait to see if anyone talks to you.

The elf guy tries to get everyone's attention, saying he has a map to the exit, but everyone ignores him. Emo jumps up on the fountain and starts yelling for the crowd to follow him. attempts to subtly intimidate the crowd. It works. Too well. Frenzied whispers start running through the crowd.
"Who's that?"
"What's with the creepy outfit?"
"Oh my God he has a tail and horns..."
"Are we in Hell!?"
"He's got a gun..."
Somnis waves her hands. "Hey, calm down. They're here to h-ah!"
Kiran seizes the opportunity to spring his trap. He lunges forward and grabs her ankle. She looks down just as he pulls her into the fountain. She very overtly aims her fall to land on top of him.
"You jerk..." she whispers. But she's smiling. "This brings back memories, huh?"
"HEY! I FOUND A WAY OUT! OVER HERE, HURRY!" The crowd turns to see a woman leaning out of a window on the second floor. She's very pretty, dressed in some sort of tube top and wearing a silver circlet. She's pointing to the open store below her. "RUN!"
The crowd starts to flee away from Tai and into the store. The first few people through the door disappear through a portal. The ones behind them start to freakout about this. The woman is fine with that. She leans further out the window, then starts crawling down the wall. Revealing her lower body is a snake. And a fair deal larger than the gorgons from before.
She slams her body down around the door, making a makeshift corral as she starts forcing the rest of the crowd out of the other world. "I know this is hard to believe, but I'm trying to help you so stop struggling and just GO HOME..."
As the last few people are disappearing, she looks at the rest of you. "You should hurry home, too. Not that you aren't welcome to visit, but the portals will close from sunrise until midnight, and the Minotaur will attack any of you on sight, so..."
Somnis pops out of the fountain, taking a deep breath. "Haaaa... Oh. Hey, Lamia."
"Oh? Hello, Somnis. I didn't see you come in."
"Thank you, we were getting absolutely nowhere with them, Dewey tells the giant snake lady - Lamia, apparently. He steps through the portal and disappears.
Emo looks at everyone and laughs. "Well, this was some kind of trainwreck, that's for sure. If the nice giant snake woman thinks we should leave then we should probably go." He walks off into the portal.
(A) (leave)
(B) So... How do you two ladies know each other?
(C) (flirt with Snake)
(D) You've got a lot of explaining to do, Somnis. A lot. And you can tell me over the dinner you seriously owe me.
(E) (Check on the kiddies)
(F) This has been annoying. I'm going home. To bed. Don't count on me to rescue you again.
(G) Oh, yeah. Somnis! Your mom's gonna friggin' kill you.
