Kiran waves his wand and a rain of knives come tumbling down tumbling down tumbling down. They stab the enemies and land all around his allies without harming them. He takes a bow.
Emo unleashes a wave of flames and ice on both enemies. One is burnt and collapses to the ground.
Dewey says something in weird-speak and the other bursts into flames and explodes violently.
Kiran receives 2 Soft Plastic.
The mall falls silent once again. More of the mannequins stare them through store windows. Dozens. Possibly hundreds. All with a sharp glare. Full of hatred... Their eyes shift to follow the party.
The portal still hovers behind them, but the way forward is clear.
"Okay, so that was... something. Whatever. We should pick a path and move forward carefully. Those other mannequins could animate at a moment's notice and we should be ready," Emo says.
That annoying guy with the poptarts appears from nowhere. Or he seems to seems to think he does, anyway. He wasn't being the least bit stealthy...
"DUDE, THAT WAS AWESOME! YOU WERE LIKE VWISH, AND THE MANNEQUINS WERE LIKE SLASH, BUT YOU WERE LIKE BURN! That's a good pop-tart if I say so myself."
"Oh, you're here. Please be quiet, we don't want to attract any more of them," Dewey tells him.
(A) "Let's try to draw a map and move forward..."
(B) "Maybe we can climb the walls somehow...? It looks like these walls are finite."
(C) "Dead reckoning! The fountain should be in the middle of the mall, so let's go... this way!"
(D) "LET'S KILL MORE STUFF!" (smash a window)
(1) "Hey, if you're here, you're gonna help fight." (Give Karl the Soul Key)
(2) "Hey, if you're here, you better try to defend yourself" (Give Karl the Soul Key)
(3) "Well, bye." (Leave Karl)
(4) "Well, bye." (Throw Karl back through the portal)

If we are going to do a Map get Dewey to do it he seems like the smart and responsible one. Otherwise lets go to the fountian.
As for Karl........
I really, honestly dont know. Sure the easy thing is to throw him into the portal but it also seems unfair to Pie. So umm I don't know

"Oh. Hey. It's you. You should take this so you can defend yourself, at least." Kiran throws him a soul key, then turns and starts to walk off. "C'mon! If this place is kinda like the mall, then the fountain should be close to the center of this maze thing, right? So, let's just go... that way!" He points straight through the distant wall and starts marching forward. He turns left and keeps pointing in the same general direction, adjusting angle to estimate a distance. "Hey, Dewey, maybe start doodling a map in that book of yours? ...Oh. Enemies!"
A swarm of seven bats with eerie, human-like faces come swooping down...

Dewey yells more Elvish and blasts a bat. The bolt nearly vaporizes it. Emo casts a breeze across the group. One is badly damaged, while the injured one is destroyed. The other two bats aren't hurt too badly.
Kiran grabs one of the less damaged and rubs its head. "Aw, who's a good little monster?"
The creature seems too confused to respond.
The other two bite Tai and Dewey. Their injuries seem to heal as the pair watches.
The bat starts to struggle. It seems unhappy.

C cuddle the bat harder. Tell him that out of all the human faced bats out there your the cutest.
Besides we drew the short end of the stick and got Karl. We need something to make up for that.

Kiran attempts to snuggle the bat harder. It gets pissy and bites his arm. Hard. He can feel it sucking out blood. "GAH! Get it off, get it off...!" Kiran screams as the others wipe out most of the other bats.
Emo takes a shot at the bat with a bullet coated with some kind of wind magic. It blows the bat off, and Dewey zaps it with another bolt.
"Little jerk..." Kiran points his wand at the last survivor and blows it away.
Kiran obtained Leathery Wing x2!
Kiran looks around awkwardly. "Well. Lesson learned, I guess. Nice shots. So... Everyone ready to head onward? I have a feeling Somnis is pretty close."
"Right," Dewey agrees.
Emo nods. "We should move forward with caution. Those were only two kinds of monsters and there's no telling how many different ones we could encounter here. Every battle could be life or death. So it's best if we keep moving and find, Somnis, Katie, and Fox as soon as possible. "
The group continues forward. Kiran makes sure Dewey makes a simple map to help keep everyone on track as they head towards the presumed center of the mall.
They arrive at a large, circular area complete with a large fountain. There's... dozens of petrified statues here. Dozens. Maybe a hundred or more. All sorts of people. Young, old, man, woman. Even a dog. Kiran quickly finds the Somnis statue and runs over. "Somnis! Somnis, I'm here! I... But I don't... know what to do..."
"I don't like this. They didn't all end up here on their own. Stay alert, whatever did this could still be around," Emo points out.
Dewey is examining the statue when something bursts out from between the statues. A large snake comes slithering in. As it rears up, it reveals the body of a woman tucked on its underbelly. She's dressed in a silk dress. Her hair is... smaller, wriggling snakes... Her eyes glow bright yellow as she flicks a forked tongue in your direction.
That's one mystery solved. But now you're all in extreme danger... Maybe beating her will fix this? Or... maybe not. But you don't have much choice. If you don't defend yourselves, you're going to be just like everyone else here!

Kiran starts making a few preparations. Nothing up his non-existent sleeve, nothing in his hat... or is there? He grins to himself. This next trick will be impressive.
Dewey reads from his book. Apparently this thing is called a gorgon, it can petrify people (duh), and its threat level is "B+," whatever that means. And it resists soul, earth, plant, dark, and electricity. That's a lot of stuff...
"What's this 'weakness unknown' crap?" Kiran demands. "Damn. Guess it doesn't know everything."
Emo fires blindly, trying not to look at it. The other guy seems to have disappeared, replaced by some kind of disgusting pastry.
The Gorgon swipes its tail at everyone. It sends statues flying indiscriminately as it swats the guys around. Kiran gets smacked back, but more or less shrugs it off. Heh. Is that all it got?
(A) Attack!
(B) Skill (BOOST)!
(C) Ride her!
(D) Throw Karl at her!
(E) Defend!
(F) Retreat!
