The options are strong, but none come even close to breaking out of Tier 2.
In fact, the bonus damage from maneuvers is actually less than the damage output of a fully optimized fighter. It's just that the maneuvers are front-loaded, so you get bonus damage early.

So, Thursdays or Sundays? Aiming for a mid June start. If possible, I'd like to start these sessions earlier so they don't go as late, so also let me know what's the earliest you guys can be there. Let's get some stuff set.

Basically anytime.

Either day works for me. Though before things are established, I'd like to know what 3PP content will be allowed, if any.

Either day works for me. Though before things are established, I'd like to know what 3PP content will be allowed, if any. Case by case. I don't want total mechanics overhauls for my first campaign. I want easily referenced vanilla rules. But I am willing to consider anything related to character creation, or to help homebrew some tweaks to existing things. For example, Neo's set up his character already. That included our own tweaks to the PF kitsune race, and allowing some third party additions to the class. I say case by case so that something really stupidly overpowered or not in line with lore won't get through, but I am prepared to work on whatever someone's got to make it work in the game. If you want new martial stuff that would normally cause me to have to relearn all fighting mechanics, I can't do that as is. However, you can certainly homebrew these in as how a particular class works, exclusive to them, if you're willing to help me work on the in universe justification for it.

*raises hand*
Is there a Laguz class?

*raises hand* Is there a Laguz class? Neo is basically running fox laguz. Go look on the Pathfinder SRD (d20 SRD) and see what you like in races, and we'll make a custom race to implement for whatever kind of laguz you want.

I would like to join, but... my schedule's in so much flux right now, I really can't commit. But maybe in late summer I'll look at joining late, if that's OK?

So it sounds like we'd have three or four to start with, depending on if Cheese is in or not. I'm alright with that, if you still wnat to join but can't at first. When the time approaches, we'll talk about how to involve you if you join, and how your character will get added into the plot. If we are starting out with a really small party, I think I'll have to make a party member for me to control so I get adjusted to the combat rules faster and can test out my balancing. I think that would help me, since I don't have any experience with that otherwise.

Speaking of my Foxy, I still need to come up with a name. And learn the PF combat rules and stuff. And begin working on her character sheet. And make her backstory. But I have so much to do. GX, once I finish this class, can we pop on Roll20 and go over stuff?

The Path of War stuff doesn't change any of the rules or anything like that. It just adds a spell-like system to the existing martial classes (via archetypes) along with new classes specifically designed with the system in mind.
Basically, it gives specific things a character can do using their action, sort of like a spell. Most Strike Maneuvers are standard actions, like most Evocation Spells. It's just that instead of a wizard in a robe casting Fireball, it's a dude in armor and two swords spinning around really quickly to hit all enemies next to him.
Maneuvers are accessed through Disciplines, which are essentially spell lists with only 35-ish "spells". However, each initiator (the term used to refer to users of martial maneuvers) can access multiple different Disciplines, which are usually determined by class/archetype. They come in levels just like spells, and are formatted like spells as well with Duration, Target, Range, etc.
The Maneuvers come in three types.
Strikes are actions that a character does, usually standard or full-round actions, with stuff like "charge an enemy and deal extra damage" or "shoot an arrow hat ricochets off of a wall".
Boosts are always swift actions and are usually just short buffs that affect the initiator, but sometimes they are group buffs or even fast attacks.
Stances are similar to Style feats in vanilla, in that they are activated using a swift action but are active until the initiator switches to a different Stance. These form the core of each Discipline and give general bonuses to certain stats, but many give mobility options like faster movement, and for the more supernatural disciplines like Chimera Soul and Sleeping Goddess, can even give climb or flight speeds.
There is also some interaction with Psionics, but that's only Sleeping Goddess and the Zealot class, and Psionics as a whole is quite a bit more complicated.
If you already have the spell system down-pat, then the maneuver system is super easy to learn. Caster becomes initiator, spell becomes maneuver, components aren't a thing, and instead of a spell focus you have a sword or bardiche or fists or shuriken or whatever.

If you want some tips on balancing, you should check on Giant In the Playground. It's probably the biggest English tabletop forum with plenty of people who have the system completely ingrained in their heads.
Just know that while Fighters and Barbarians can put out some scary damage numbers, that's all they can do, and Wizards and other "prepared" spellcasters are essentially God, being able to do the Fighter's job but better, faster, more efficiently, and can also fly unassisted. Spontaneous casters like the Oracle are similarly strong, but are very inflexible and don't get quite as strong quite as quickly because the devs decided to keep the slower progression from 3.5.

Oh, and if you find a tier list from 1-6 about Pathfinder, those are not based off of just combat ability, but problem solving ability.

So, let's set Sunday as the day. How does 8 pm EST sound? I know it's early for some. Let me know if that's not a good time.
And a little update. I bought two of my key books today, being the Advanced Race Guide and Occult Adventures. I'm buying more later as PDFs. Let me know if there's a book you guys think I should look into.
And Mystic, the advanced race guide includes many potential laguz, and instructions for making a custom race. We can do whatever you want.

Yay! I'll have to spend some time looking at all the stuff, but I'll get working on my character so we can start on time.

So what's the current party makeup look like? I've narrowed it down to two characters I want to make, but I don't want to have anything too similar to everyone else. I know Neo's playing as Amaterasu, but uh...does anyone else know any stuff yet on what they want to play as?

Neo's Oracle homage is the only one so far. Pick whatever you'd like, or pitch me something.
