I figured I'd make this so Crow and Mystic could hear about my reactions. And, of course, anyone else interested in my take on this series.
Note: This is completely blind. I've never played any Persona game before, and know very little about the series. Starting the game on Normal. May end up regretting that.
First of all, I love the music and art design already. It's gorgeous.
Ah, the Velvet Room. I've heard the name mentioned once or twice, though I didn't know it was a posh Space Limousine owned by a dude named Igor who looks like a cross between a cancelled James Bond cartoon villain and literally Igor.
Oh, okay. It's not a Space Limousine. It's a dream/reality/matter bending Limousine. Same diff.
So this is basically just character creation? My last name... Hmm. Let's go with Anderson. For obvious reasons. And now my first name... Fiiiiiiine, let's just make him literally Neo. So Thomas. Gee, I wonder if there's another Neo who's also named Thomas.
And so Thomas Anderson, AKA Neo, enters the world of Persona 4 Golden. This amuses me.

Fortune telling time! Is Igor as accurate as Nyl? Can he predict I'll become THE ONE?! Let's find out!
There are going to be so many Matrix jokes/puns/references.
The Tower in the upright position. Imminent catastrophe. Gee, what a surprise. Is the card you draw fixed, or is it random?
Next is the Moon in the upright position. Put together, the cards apparently mean I will encounter a misfortune at your destination, and a great mystery will be imposed upon me. Again, what a surprise. This is a RPG, after all. And what's a RPG without drama? Just once, I want a great and powerful Fortune Teller to tell me "You will be blessed with lots of fluffy bunnies at your destination!" So far, definitely liking Nyl better.
Ohai Margaret. Is she waifu candidate #1, or Navi? Seems like Navi. "LISTEN!"
Ohai hot girl on the beach...
... That was actually a cool transition. Well, time to watch the opening scenes and start the game proper! I'll try to keep these posts short.

I'm like.... A couple minutes into the game and I'm already convinced Dojima is either the bad guy, or going to get killed off in some brutal fashion. He's way too nice.

I love it. I actually really like how they did that little tutorial. That whole scene was really cool. I take it these dream scenes happen often?
Also, I'm only going to post my reactions to certain things or big story events. Otherwise I'd never be able to just sit down and play the game.

I had some warnings I was going to give you about this game, I didn't think you'd get it this quick... Alright.
- Early on (like, in the next 30 mins of gameplay) you'll come on a scene of a suicide... or a murder staged as a suicide, rather, so... be ready for that.
- The Devil social link. You could argue whether it's simple flirting or straight sexual harassment... but I'm pretty sure you'll be rolling your eyes more than legit upset about it. Unfortunately, you have to do the devil social link to unlock death, which was one of my favorites.
- You'll have to choose between drama and music. I know your instinct will be drama, but you may want to do music. Drama's plotline is that her deadbeat dad's wandered back into her life.
- When **** hits the fan in November, just... how to say this without major spoilers...? Just don't get the bad end and it'll all work out.
Also, some advice.
- Don't neglect raising your social stats.
- Beef bowl shop does special stuff on rainy days.
- Some rare shadows (with rare drops) appear in the dungeons on rainy days.
- Chie best girl.
- Hermit's possibly the most important social link to keep up with.
- There's a handful of special personae made by specific fusions. Most you can figure out by knowing some about mythology. But one's a series self-reference, so I doubt you'd figure it out randomly. Belial x Nebrios.

Nah Yukkiko is number one Waifu.
Hmmm as far as warnings well umm cant really think of one right now.
Also yay Neo did what i did. I jumped into Persona 4 golden as my first Persona game. I loved it as a game. But yeah as they say make sure to not neglect raising social stats because its very important.
But yeah playing Persona 4 was like playing the dating sim

I played until the TV part last night, when they got sucked in at Junes. The murder scene didn't bother me. Thanks for the warnings and info, Crow.

Started playing for a bit. The graphics for the cutscenes are gorgeous. So next victim. Before I find out who it is in the story, I'm going to guess it's Saki. And that the Midnight Channel actually shows who's going to be the next victim.

That Persona cutscene was awesome. And now it's the first proper battle! Like all the rest of the soundtrack, the battle music is amazing.
