Lily rips her rapier free and steps back. She signals the others to shift into a defensive stance. Hawke, Kelly, and Gale take point while Lily swaps to her Flux tome. The fighter's group takes a moment to prepare, then charge as a horde.
Lily's group unleashes a barrage. As Lily chants a spell, a ball of shadow tears out of the ground in front of the lead brigand. He tries to slow himself, but crashes right into the pulsing mass of dark energy as it erupts in an explosion. Another brigand trips over the first's corpse. Storm and Charles hurl javelins as he stumbles, scoring another easy kill. Alphonse throws his handaxe into the crowd and somehow manages to miss everyone. Shep waves his staff over Lily's bruised arm.
A pair of brigands go after Gale. She ducks under the first's opening attack and dives fowards, kicking hard off his back. The second manages to graze Gale's thigh as she tackles him, raking her claws across his chest. Another attacks Hawke. Hawke fends his attack off, meeting axe with axe. Hawke overpowers the brigand and buries his axe in the brigand's neck. Another brigand tries to take advantage of the distraction to force past Hawke to attack Shep; Hawke's wyvern whirls around and whips his tail across the brigand's chest, sending the brigand flying.
Kelly gets pushed away from the others. Two brigands manage to attack her from either side. She swings her sword at one, only to feel an axe slam against her back - fortunately, it doesn't manage to pierce her armor. She whirls around and slashes blindly at the attacker, only for the first brigand to cut through her armor into her flank. Kelly yells and kicks her mount into a charge. She plows over one of the brigands, trampling him underfoot. The fighter takes advantage of her position to attack her. Kelly manages to fend off his first attack with her blade, but her counterattack doesn't connect. She kicks at him, and he answers by digging his axe into her calf.
The two new mercenaries are seconds from joining the fray. The archer stops well back from the fighting and starts to nock an arrow. The fighter shuffles back from Kelly to join the others, holding his hand up. The mercenaries stop and take a defensive stance in front of the archer, along with the fighter. Kelly: 40% Hawke: 75%
Fighter (boss): 70% 1 brigand, 2 mercenaries, 1 archer (untouched)
(A) Try to rush through the formation and split them apart (B) Try to have someone circle around back to attack the archer (choose 1 or 2) (C) Attack them head-on (D) Stay back
Have anyone drop back? (1) Yes (choose who) (2) No

Hmmm we do have a couple of fliers and kinda of want to get rid of that archer but the enemy knows that.
Well is there a way where we can turtle towards the group. By having all our ranged fighter pelt the formation while our meaty units crash through and take out the archer. Of course making sure our fliers are out of range from the archer. So I guess its kinda of like A but without us going head long into the formation but more like softening them up before we bring the boom
Now as far as fall back
2 Yes have Kelly, she's getting the Anna treatment so have her fall back and along with the priest and get that wound healed.

I'm going to give this a few more hours, then go on with X's plan. Maybe tomorrow morning if things go weird today.

You're updating too quickly again, Crow. I haven't had time to vote. Want to, but haven't had time. I only have time to pop in quickly today and yesterday I was too exhausted. I won't have time to sit down and actually concentrate until this evening at the earliest.

I want to try to do at least one post a day, like I used to. Every other day at the bare minimum. I think my writing takes a drop in quality if I go too long without. You're about to see so far behind in Oz

I'll support X's choices. And Crow, if you're really adamant about doing one post per day, there's a lot of people who won't be able to participate in the CYOA nearly as often. And that will inevitably lead to much more casualties than the story would have otherwise, and more people dropping out. You need to find a steady pace, not a blitzkrieg.

(For future reference, you can have a mounted unit dismount or laguz un-transform in custom plans to remove their vulnerabilities; for balancing with my scale, vulnerabilities and crits are 2x damage instead of 3x)
"Shep, Kelly! Back! Hawke, Storm, cover! Gale, you two, prepare to charge!" Lily orders. She starts reciting a spell.
Shep and Kelly drop back. "This is pretty bad," Shep admits. "But you're going to be fine, Kel."
"Just hurry and get me back into the fight," Kelly says.
Hawke and Storm drop back out the archer's effective range and start hurling javelins and handaxes. Lily's shadow slips into the enemy formation and erupts beside one of the mercenaries, knocking him aside. Alphone, Charles, and Gale take the chance to run in after the archer. The fighter blocks Alphonse, and Charles ends up facing against the other mercenary. Gale tries to sprint past the staggered swordsman, but he manages a quick slash as she passes. The blade bites into her ear, and she yelps in pain. She stops her charge and bucks at him, slamming her back legs into this chest. He flies several feet before crashing against the ground. The archer takes a step back and fires at Gale. She lets out another pained squeak before tackling him to the ground and shredding him to ribbons. The other mercenary falls under a barrage of magic and javelins. Charles staggers away, a few scratches across his armor, but otherwise fine.
The enemy leader shoves Alphonse to the ground, blood streaming from a deep wound on the allied fighter's arm. The enemy fighter steps over him. "Dammit!" he yells, staring at Lily. "Damn you!" He pulls out his steel axe and charges.
Lily readies her rapier, but never gets the chance to use it. With the archer dead and the threat past, Hawke and Storm dive in from opposite sides; a now-healed Kelly comes charging in from Lily's rear, and Gale menacingly tears into an archer to his rear. The fighter finds himself surrounded on all sides, but chooses to fight. He leaps at Hawke, only to have two spears pierce his back mid-charge. Kelly and Storm raise the impaled fighter between them, then fling his corpse to the ground.
"Good work, but there's no time for celebration! The town's still burning, and that dastard said they're after the emissary!" Lily calls out. "Shep, get up here and tend to Alphonse and Gale! Kelly, Storm! Help Charles patch himself up. Hawke, let me see that cut."
Bertrand and Deltan finally catch up, a villager traveling with them. "U-um... P-princess!" the villager says shakily, nervously approaching Lily. "I... We managed to take this when we were fleeing from the town. It might help you, so...!" He shoves a blue satchel into her hands before turning and running back towards the relative safety of the forest.
Lily obtained an elixer! Current stock: Alice - 1 Lily - 1 Mala, Docks Several brigands are swarming all along the Mala docks, setting fire to every ship they pass. The newest arrival sits on the end of the docks: a large, Feroxi galleon. The crew finishes lowering the gangplank. A tall, dark-skinned woman stomps down to the docks, high-heeled boots clacking sharply as she walks. Her long, golden hair and pale-yellow dress flap in the ember-filled, gusting wind anywhere it pokes out beneath her white-and-crimson armor. Several swords clatter at her waist, and a spear is slung across her back. A young pirate, dressed in a simple blue shirt and plain trousers with a large bandanna tied over his red hair, walks behind her, keeping a respectful distance.
"Disgusting," the woman says coldly as she steps onto the shore. "This is how they greet us? With fire and death? Do they really think us such savages as to enjoy this sort of thing?"
"I kinda doubt this 'ere fracas wuz planned or endorsed by no governin' body," the pirate says.
"I'm aware," she answers in the same flat tone. "I was making a joke. Pathetic, though, to let an entire town fall to bandits."
"Kinda doubt this were coincidence t' coincide wit' yer debarkation, neither," the pirate points out. The woman shrugs with a grunt.
"I found her!" a brigand yells. He yells and charges, axe raised. The woman observes him with a disdainful sneer. She steps to the side and slams her fist into his back as he passes, sending him toppling into the water. He breaks the surface a few seconds later, struggling to stay afloat and calling for help. The woman folds her arms, callously ignoring him as she stares blankly at the other approaching enemies drawn by his call.
"So many dead men!" she yells with the same icy indifference. "How nice of you to save me the trouble of hunting you down!" Support Options (choose 4)

Since it would require... literally everyone who's voted in AoD up to this point to overturn, I'm going to go ahead and start writing A, D, and G. But I'm leaving B and E open for a bit longer.

"Does it hurt?" Lily asks.
Hawke shakes his head. "Just a scratch, Princess. I've had worse."
"Yes, well, small injuries add up," Lily says, examining the wound. "They can be distracting. If they heal improperly, they can affect mobility. And an untreated scratch can become infected."
"You know quite a bit about medicine..." Hawke says, a hint of admiration in his voice.
Lily pulls out a vulnerary and starts treating the cut. "My parents made sure I was well-studied. They tried to do the same to Rand, but he was constantly sneaking out to play with Gale..." Hawke winces in pain, and his wyvern immediately snaps about to hiss at Lily. She raps her knuckles against its snout and it falls silent. "Hm. You handled yourself well, Hawke. Was this really your first actual battle?"
"Only since becoming a royal guardsman," Hawke explains. "I had plenty of experience before I was recruited."
"Mercenary?" Lily asks.
"I prefer the term 'bodyguard' or 'escort.'"
"Hm. Nothing inherently wrong with being a mercenary. Just because some are scum doesn't mean they all are." She finishes patching Hawke up. "All better."
"Um... Thank you." Gale stretches out in the grass and starts cleaning the blood from her fur. Shep takes that as a signal to start elsewhere. "Let's get a look at those injuries, Kel."
Kelly nods and unlatches her chestplate. Shep helps her lower it to the ground. She lifts her shirt obligingly to show her flank. "How bad is it?"
Shep examines the wound and finds it still bleeding lightly. "Could be worse," Shep tells her. "Could be better, but you'll live. How's your back?"
"Didn't pierce the armor."
He peeks at her back. "Yeah, that's going to leave a bruise, but no blood. Let me take another shot at this one, though..." He waves his staff across her stomach, and the injury seals shut, though imperfectly. Shep takes several seconds to observe the injury, then sighs sadly. "Sorry, Kel. That's still going to leave a nasty scar. Guess I've still got a ways to go... I'll try and do better next time."
"I'll try not to get hit next time," Kelly says with a terse smile.
"Yeah, guess we both have some room to improve."
"And what is that supposed to mean?"
Shep laughs. "You realize you can put your shirt down now?"
"...Oh."
"Here, let me help you get back in your armor."
"I can handle it. Aren't there other injured?"
"Right!" Shep says with sudden realization. "Um... Excuse me." He walks off and heads over to Gale.
Gale stops wiping at her face. "About time," she says.
"Your ear looks pretty bad..." Shep says, looking at the gash.
"Yeah, it really hurts," Gale says with a subtle whine to her voice.
"I'll bet."
"...Are you... planning to fix it?"
"Oh. Oh! Right. Um... Would you mind going back to your... not-rabbit form?"
Gale hops to her feet, transforming in the process. She cradles her ear gently. Shep walks over and starts waving his staff over the wound. It starts to seal, and Gale sighs in relief. "Hey," she says quietly. "Remember when you were riding me earlier? Y'know... I could feel your heartbeat."
"Um... OK?" Shep says, suddenly very uncomfortable.
Gale leans in a bit closer. "Yeah. So I could tell..." She reaches up to wrap her arms around his neck. She stares him in the eye. "You're either scared of me, or you've got a huge crush."
"Er..." Shep tries to step back, but Gale pulls him closer.
"So, which is it, hm?" Gale demands softly. She tilts her head and rests it against his shoulder, inching slowly closer. "If I said I was going to nibble on your neck, would it make you excited...?" She suddenly shifts to her beastial form, now towering over Shep and holding him in a vice-like grip. "Or terrified!?" she demands in a deep, menacing whisper.
"Annoyed," Shep answers. He pulls a cloth from his pocket and dabs up a few drops of blood she missed while cleaning her snout. "You missed both marks, I'm sorry to say. But good guesses. Now, do you have any more injuries? Or am I free to go?"
Gale releases him and shifts back. She scratches her head. "Um... No, I'm fine."
"Glad to hear it," Shep says. He pats her shoulder with an amiable smile before leaving. (Poll's still open until morning between B and E)

Storm hops his pegasus over to stop in front of Hawke shortly after Lily leaves. "A moment of your time?" he asks.
"Hm?" Hawke grunts without looking up, adjusting his armor over the bandage Lily gave him.
"I just wanted to say you handled yourself - and your mount - well in that fight."
"Mm. Thanks."
"..."
"..."
"You don't... talk much, do you?"
Hawke shrugs. "I'm not paid to talk."
"Well, that's... not entirely true, is it?" Storm asks.
Hawke spares him a glance before returning to his armor.
After realizing that was all the invitation he'd get, Storm continues. "I mean, your behavior as a royal guardsman reflects on the Carcinan royalty, does it not?"
"I suppose. I choose to be quiet and look scary. Since no one's corrected me yet, I assume they hired me to give that sort of impression."
"Fair enough, then. Just so long as you keep what I said in mind." End of Chapter 1 - Lily's Route
