We're going to have a weekly online RP session! STARS is a multi-genre BESM3e RP set in space, far into the future. The party will meet on a small scrapyard of a planet on the verge of space contested by two competing empires. Hoping to escape the oncoming battle, they all find themselves desperately searching for anything capable of getting into space without falling to pieces. After their initial meeting, the party will spend their time travelling between and exploring alien planets, both wild and civilized. - Some skills have been divided, had point costs tweaked, or have names changed (see Character Creation Guide in the next post)
- No Combat Technique - Tournament Encyclopedia
- Limit of one companion without serious justification
- No Dimensional Link; Dimensional Walk limited to vehicles (subspace) or characters (Pocket Dimension) - recharge time re-tuned
- Limit rank 3 for Extra Actions
- No Confined Movement or Recurring Nightmare Defects
- 10 points required in Defects, players must include the Wanted Defect (nature of crime at their discretion - character may have been framed, committed a minor offense, etc.)
- Semi-realistic mechs (examples: Zaku or Guntank from Gundam; Scopedog from VOTOMs, Destroid Tomahawk from Macross)
- Clarification: Defects applied to an Alternate Form only increase the points available to the Alternate Form
If you want to create an alien race, an empire, or single planet (either for your backstory or as a possible destination), post about it here. Or PM me if it's hush-hush. Since I know not everyone has access to the rules, but I also don't want to type a small novel about some of the powers if I don't have to, several of the attributes in the character creation guide just say to ask me for more information. So... Can I have a giant space dragon who can take the form of a human, and uses his/her giant dragon form as a Mech? Like, instead of having a mech, she transforms into a space dragon and fights as a space dragon. Think Crystalline Entity from Star Trek. Only a dragon.

Or maybe my dragon isn't allowed to use her dragon form except under certain circumstances, so she has a mech of her own. Or she just uses a Mech to keep up appearances, or because her dragon form takes up too much energy so she reserves it for only when it's absolutely necessary. Or maybe she just likes Mechs.
Anyway, can I have the Barbados?

Anyway, can I have the Barbados? I don't know what that is. As soon as you tell me, I'll probably know exactly what that is and I just can't think right now. Edit: Ah, the new Gundam. I'm waiting until IBO's done airing to watch it. No Gundams. For players. At the start, at least. Something on the level of a low-tier Gundam would be a "we should probably run from this fight"-level enemy at the start. Maybe once the party's grown a bit you could capture or produce one. Though the Barbatos looks pretty... would-fit-in-in-this-campaign. |

Anyway, can I have the Barbados? You gotta make sure that you don't go over the Point limit (300) with that though. The easiest way would be to place lots of restrictions on powers and use ridiculous Awkward Size modifiers to give you more points, so if your Dragon form is miles long, then you'd get a ton of bonus points. |

Eh... It's been a while since I've created a character in D&D, and I've never used BESM before, so bear with me. Would it be possible to create a character something like this with the point limit?
Alternate Form
Flight
Space Flight
Divine Relationship
Heightened Senses
Massive Damage
Superspeed
Telekinesis
Teleport
Telepathy
Mind Shield
Dragon form would be Awkward Size 10 I think? How many of these skills would it be possible to have? I want to create a psychic space dragon.

Spaceflight's normally a skill for slapping On vehicles. I think. You'd also need a skill to let you not worry about space-breathing. I'd need to sit down and figure out what that is... But I think it's a sub-type of the special damage reducing thingy. Or you could make an airtight forcefield, but you'd be SoL if you took a lot of damage and it broke.
Alternate Form's a bit weird and I'm just getting to my car. I'll explain when I get home.

For space survival, you'd need Low Pressure 2, Lack of Air 2, and maybe Radiation 1. (10 Points total)
Also, will weapon modifiers like Puncturing count towards the rank limit? And will they use their normal cost (like Penetrating costing 1 point per rank, since 2 points per rank like Weapon Levels make it completely obsolete).

I have a question about some regarding some of the skills.
I noticed some of the specializations aren't listed. Are we using them? I liked them for making sense (A geologist should be better at geology than physics, but both are under Physical Science).
