... After you tell Iris what you saw she proceeds to relay the information to Corva and Hón. Corva immediately proclaims, "A large blue and white plumed bird attacking a large fish, that must be a wave raptor, and its on the way back to town. I refuse to pass up this opportunity!" Iris then interjects, "What about the conch we were having a hard time with that one on it's own?" Corva replies, "Dread conchs and wave raptors are natural enemies, if we play our cards right we can use that to our advantage and let them wear each other out. The fish will probably be dead by the time we get there, wave raptors eat fish after all." It only takes a couple of minutes for your group to reach the beast fight, and like Corva said the fish is torn apart and clearly dead and the raptor and the snail are fighting each other. The conch is inching toward the dead fish moving in a defensive crawl, while the raptor dashes about around the conch with blinding speed striking with bursts of water, shards of ice, and furious talon strikes, but they barely seem to scratch the conches shell. Corva begins to whisper, "That's not just any wave raptor, that's an elder wave raptor, they're extremely rare I might get a bonus for it's feathers."

Well we need a plan of attack, so what will you do? A) have Iris focus on keeping the group healed. B) have Iris boost Corva's magic. C) have Iris boost Hón's attack. D) have Iris boost everyone's agility. E) have Iris boost everyone's resistance. F) have Iris boost everyone's regeneration. G) have Iris try to charm the wave raptor. H) have Iris try to charm the dread conch.
1) have Corva focus on the conch. 2) have Corva focus on the raptor. 3) have Corva hold back.
I) have Hón focus on the conch. II) have Hón focus on the raptor. III) have Hón hold back.
W) faze through the conch. X) faze through the raptor. Y) faze through the dead fish. Z) hang back and keep watch.

H2IIW, assuming phasing into the conch can make charming a bit easier? I'm also kinda against attempting to charm anything, due to luck down, but hey! If we don't have to fight the conch, cool. If phasing through the conch will complicate things for Iris, then phase through the dead fish instead.

I forgot to clarify. Pick one choice from each category. apology for my forgetfulness. Corva needs only the feathers of the wave raptor for her guild bounty. The wave raptor can be charmed, but the conch cannot. Iris can regrow the wave raptors feathers as long as she has at least 5mp and the wave raptor is still alive. Among Hón's techniques is a move called shining blade it'll take all the mp he has at the moment but if it connects it will ignore it's targets resistance stat dealing direct damage and possibly criticaling. The wave raptor is an elder wave raptor, that means it is more rare and powerful than a regular wave raptor, not that its old. Wave raptors are basically immune to water attribute magic. You'd learn most if not all of the facts in the spoiler after the battle but I'm giving you them now as an apology and to help you plan your attack. Good luck.

I'll second F1IX, so long as Hòn doesn't waste his MP on the conch.

I just went back and reread this topic to make sure I didn't miss anything, and something really interesting caught my eye:
The personification of earth is Tera, which just happened to be the name of my MC, who's affinity is earth! Interesting little parallel, though I guess it just makes sense with the name...

I started my CYOA before you did anyway and created the character profiles for the twelve before my first post.

Ok tally time: 1A, 2F, 1H, 31, 12, 2I, 2II, 1W, 2X, 1Y. F, 1, X win out right. RNG tie breaker between I & II, result is I. So final result F1IX wins. Rolled RNG there will be a part two to this battle. Time +0:05 Iris mp -15 Corva mp -5

You quickly formulate a crude plan and tell it to Iris. First she should cast her regeneration spell over the group, after the effect it demonstrated in the encounter with the boar you're willing to bet it will help out here. Second you think best that Hón and Corva attack the conch together, after all that thing is tough and it's poison harpoon is very dangerous. As for the raptor you plan to try and distract it by fazing through it. After Iris relays the plan the others nod in agreement though Corva does not seem to like the idea of you being the one to keep her prize occupied. Never the less every one quickly executes the plan. As you rush toward the speedy bird you see Corva conger a pillar of ice at the same time as a stream of water from the raptor strikes the conch. The combined force of these attacks flipping the overgrown snail on it's back exposing it's fleshy foot. (Some how you know thats the proper term for the bottom of a snail, weird.) But you need to focus on your job, you pass right through the back of the big bird's head and as you do you try to draw energy like you did with Iris. What you get however is rush of sensation; hunger, fatigue, loneliness, and anger. You can't keep up with it all and soon find yourself back outside of the raptor, looking it in the face. The bird seems to be disoriented as he is shaking his head, as if to shake something loose in his head. (That would probably be you that he is trying to shake loose. Wait! When did you start thinking of the raptor as a him? And why?) You turn to check on your group and find them regrouping behind the shell of the snail, it's body laying severed on the opposite side, Hón's handy work by your guess.

The wave raptor is still alive and kicking, how should you finish things?
Plan A) have Iris boost Corva's magic and have Corva loose some dark magic on the raptor while its still dazed. Its your main target after all.
Plan B) have Iris boost Hón's agility so he can keep up with the raptor and put his sword to work. If the snail is any indicator then that sword is something special.
Plan C) have Corva and Hón stay back but at the reddy while Iris tries to charm the raptor. Some thing tells you that this just might work.
Plan D) have everyone stand down. You feel that the wave raptor deserves to go free and will do so if given the chance.
Plan E) custom strategy. (Lets see if any of you have a good plan.)
Note: If a monster is successfully charmed it can be added as pet which can aid in battle and exploration, or be sold for a profit. No guarantee the charm spell will work though, its RNG based.

Twenty-four hour bump.
Info: for clarification if the charm spell is used and it fails the monster will do one of three things; 1 run away, 2 take defensive measures, or 3 attack. In the current situation the raptors fatigue and hunger will prompt it to take the fish and run if the charm spell fails. If this information proves useful feel free to change your votes accordingly.

If he's tired, let's prioritize just getting a feather. We should boost Corva and Hòn's agility, and have them attempt to pluck a few for Corva's mission. Then, were can safely attempt to charm him. If it fails, whatevs, we got the feathers. If it works, super birdy ally!
If we can't afford to boost the agility of both, and still cast charm, just Hòn.
