The walk up the beach looks like it will take a while. You kind of don't want to just follow The girls around impotently, so you decide to drift about some distance from them. You do this so that you can search for any thing useful or valuable along the beach. It make sense since you are only visible to Iris and you are unencumbered by obstacles. The plan checks out in your head so you tell it to Iris then float off to begin your search. At first all you find is the occasional pebble or clump of seaweed, but after about an hour you find something shiny in the sand. Normally you would have to ask Iris what a given object is, but this one is instantly recognizable to you. Its a spirit crystal, just like the one that you saw yesterday morning. You call Iris over so she can retrieve it, your still not quite sure how these things work but you are sure these crystals are valuable. When Iris arrives she takes the hunting knife out of her bag and uses said knife to role the stone into an empty slot in her bag. Iris then says, "I have to be carful with this. Spirit stones are rare and highly volatile." You can tell by the look on Corva's face that this find has intrigued her, but as of now you aren't sure what about this event piqued her interest. Regardless you start to head out only to notice an odd shell, so you again signal Iris, but man having no body can get kind of irritating some times. This time Corva speaks up when she notices what Iris was walking to, "Guess your little spirt doesn't have much sense for what is and what is not valuable. First he finds a rare oddity now he finds a cheap bobble. That is a pink scallop shell, you can buy those at any tourist shop on the main island for about 3 copper a piece." Iris picks up the shell any way and you all continue on. A few minutes later you spot something sticking out of the sand, it looks man made so you call Iris over. Iris states, "This looks interesting, I guess I should dig it up." Corva snidely retorts, "Probably just a hunk of junk." What Iris reveals though is an ornately carved staff with a large well cut hunk of quarts at its tip and oddly enough what appears to be a leather belt wrapped around it. Corva meekly states, "Ok, not junk. That is a caster staff and a fairly strong one at that." Just then though it begins to rain.

What now? A) head back. B) head for cover in a nearby thicket. C) ignore the rain keep walking up the beach. D) take a swim every one is getting wet any way. 1) keep searching for useful stuff. 2) start searching for the wave raptor. 3) start searching for threats. 4) start searching for people. 5) start focusing on the girls conversation. X) have Iris equip the staff Y) have Corva equip the staff. Z) have no one equip the staff. +) use the spirit stone on Corva. -) save the spirit stone for later. there are 11 character with whom you must form a spirit link before you can complete the story and Corva isn't one of them. Moreover spirit stones are very rare. |

I definitely feel like the goal of the Verse was to make these stories more accessable to everyone, but at the same time sometimes I just think it split the community. So many good stories on Gfaqs, who really deserve more votes, and then gems over here hardly get any at all...
Hero, which story is yours? All of us changing accounts is so confusing...
