A. I doubt he wants to talk and maybe we'll learn something. As for fusions, I'm really wanting that King Frost, Hee Ho.the only option for that right now is fusing Gagyson and Angel. And I doubt pixie is going to be helpful for much longer, so might as well fuse pixie and Lilim into another Gagyson better that than carrying around a weak demon. Besides, though the novelty is fun, we probably have enough Lilims. Not sure how to vote that, so I'll just say Angel-Gagyson, and Pixie-Lilim. I'll second all of this. Sound logic. |

You accept Gregory's challenge!
He slams his fist into his open hand. "Ha! You've got some guts, at least! But guts alone don't win fights!" With that, he rushes toward you. You jump back, and he barely grazes you. You counter with a punch while he's off-balance. He slaps your attack to the side then throws another punch. You double over, and he quickly presses his attack with a knee. The force sends you staggering back, gasping for breath.
You manage to raise your phone and cast Bufu. The ice slams into him, and he's left partially frozen. He briefly struggles, and the thin layer of ice shatters. "Not good enough!" he yells out, rushing you again. "V! Fatal Strike!"
The force of the blow sends you sailing, slamming into a wall. As he closes in for the kill, you manage to pull up your phone. You pull up your command list, randomly tapping a spell. A ball of fire erupts around Gregory, and he falls over. "Ah... Right. Fatal Strike... can't finish an opponent off. Your win." He thumps down onto his face. A few people rush over to help him. You patch yourself up with Dia, then Gregory. He rolls over, then hops up.
"Ah, that was fun. Bit short, but what can you do?"
You ask why he was so intent on fighting you.
"The fastest way to get to know someone is to fight them! A person can't lie about who they are when they fight!" Gregory answers. "Ahem. Er... Sorry. Anyway. Why are you always using your phone like that? Didn't your advisers tell you about voice activation?"
You shake your head. "Huh. Weird," Gregory mutters. "Anyway, I like you well enough. Feel free to come back if you want some more practice. Plenty of people here looking for a good scrap!"
Fate with Gregory Rhinehardt reached level 1!
His force and curse resistance became strong.
You wander aimlessly a bit, randomly plugging demons into your fusion system to see if anything interesting is available. Tyrant King Frost catches your eye... Though it's a shame to give up Angel. You steel yourself, pair her with Gagyson, and hit the confirm key.
"Though our time was short, go with the light of the lord..." Angel tells you.
"Fusing me with an angel? Are you serious!?" Gagyson complains.
The two of them are scanned, then they vanish. A bunch of strange machine code and arcane symbols flash across the screen. Another figure begins to take shape. A giant, incredibly... fat-looking snowman. "I am King Frost, the Tyrant, ho! Bow down heefore me!"
You also decide to fuse Pixie and Lilim into another Gagyson.
"Don't worry, Ms. Kira! I'll be watching out for you from my great new body!"
"Hm hm... Fusing with a pixie? How... wicked."
"Yeah! Now this is a body! Gimme somethin' to kill!" Gagyson calls out.
Your fusions complete, you decide to ask Bast and Vorvadoss about the voice activation thing.
"Oh... Sorry, Kira, I never really thought to mention it!" Bast apologizes.
"We've never been in a situation when you really needed it," Vorvadoss explains. "But feel free to use it."
A crackling noise from an alley beside you draws your attention. You realize you've got to stop walking while staring at your phone! A nekomata leaps from an alleyway, claws extended, aimed straight at your throat. You don't have time to-
A heavy weight slams into you from behind, throwing you to the ground. You feel warm blood beginning to trickle down your... No, that's not your blood. You realize you're not hurt at all, aside from a skinned knee.
"Ares!" the person on top of you calls out. You... know the voice. Sara! You manage to see a large demon, covered in muscles and wielding a large sword walks up to the nekomata that tried to kill you and slashes it with surprising speed. The demon bursts into a shower of magnetite.
Sara rolls off of you, and you see the extent of her injuries. The nekomata's claws did a lot of damage. There's a huge gash across her chest and arm that's spurting out blood at an alarming rate.
"Heh heh... Hey, Kira. Glad I made it in time... Um... Can you...?"
Realization flashes across your face. "Dia!" you yell out.
"...Oh, the voice thing!" Bast calls out from your phone. The spell begins to flow from your hand, and Sara's wound starts to heal. Her bleeding slows and stops.
"Thanks..." Sara moans. "Really glad I made it in time."
You lay her down, cradling her head in your lap. You ask what she's talking about, and why she was there.
"I had a dream last night," she explains. "A crow was kind of... hovering down main street, not really paying attention - and I knew it had to be you. I was just sure of it. And then a cat jumped out of an alley and pounced on you, and tore you to pieces...! It was... pretty awful. But the dream ended with a big number 12, and I just... knew. So I... slipped off duty for a few moments." When she finishes speaking, she closes her eyes. "Sorry, can you... give me a few minutes? I think I lost... a bit too much blood."
"...Blood..." a voice growls. Another nekomata appears, stalking down the alley.
"Meat..." another voice answers. "Give me... meat..." Another demon, a lady in a white dress (Dragon Bai Suzhen, your phone tells you) approaches from the street. More demons begin to converge...
You jump up, standing over the unconscious Sara. If these demons think they can touch her...!
"Hey... Kira? Is that you?" You look towards the source of the voice. Kumiko's standing well down the street. "Hang on... Let me give you a hand!"
"Hey! What're ya'll doin'!?" George calls from the other direction. "Don't worry! I ain't gonna let them demons getcha!"
A third figure appears in the alleyway. You look up to see who it is...
(A) Gregory
(B) Rita
(C) A man you don't recognize
(D) Another demon

Just what you needed. Another demon comes floating down the alleyway.
You're standing over the unconscious Sara. You're pretty sure you could move her, or one of your demons, but that'll be one less fighter, unless you decide to just stand your ground...
Down the alley's a team lead by a Waira, and another led by a Jack Frost.
Between you and George, there's a team led by a Jack Frost, and another led by a Gagyson.
A Bai Suhzen and a Jamavan are blocking the street between you and Kumiko.
And just because things aren't bad enough, a Nekomata team's standing across the street from you...
You need to decide what your goal is.
(A) Stand your ground and protect Sara
(B) Grab Sara and escape
(C) Carry Sara while eliminating the demons

Your phone pings with an alert. It seems that George and Kumiko were automatically added to your network, and skills and demons have been automatically assigned, pending approval. Is this the team you want?You need to decide whether to escape towards George, towards Kumiko, or down the alley... (A) George (B) Fumiko (C) Alley And who will carry Sara. Whoever it is won't be participating in combat... (1) Kira (2) Nekomata (or demon 1) (3) Kijinuma (or demon 2)
Important note: When characters - including Kira - are defeated in battle, hope is not lost. So long as the battle is won, they will be revived at the end of combat - or even mid-combat, once you learn a certain spell. If ALL characters are defeated, however, it's game over. During this chapter, if Kira's team is wiped out, Sara will be killed. |

I'm going to suggest we replace kijinuma with king frost. Looks like our pudgy snowman has knight soul, meaning he'll take a fatal hit for kira if need be(if it's not an aoe sort of move)
Then I vote A1. Kira won't be fighting but with knight soul and Dia on king frost, she shouldn't be in too much danger. I hope.

You tap through your phone's menus. You send Kijinuma to Kumiko, taking King Frost for yourself. You call out that you're heading to George.
"OK... got it!" Kumiko calls out. "I'll cover your retreat!"
"I'm ready fer ya!" George answers. "I'll if I cain't clear these guys out!"
You grab Sara, start to lift her, and immediately drop her again. She's heavier than you remember. Or maybe you're just weaker? You get a better grip on her, then throw her over your shoulder. It's all you can do to walk under her immense girth - fighting's out of the question.
Kira starts by running towards George. A Jack Frost jumps in her way. Fortunately, King Frost's massive girth shields you from Jack's icy winds. King Frost doesn't even flinch - he seems empowered, in fact. "Stay be-hee-hind me, ho!"
Nekomata charges forward with a hiss, clawing at the demons beside Jack. Between Nekomata and King Frost, one of subordinate Jacks falls easily.
George takes the next move. He goes after Gagyson. Ignoring the smaller demons, he rushes Gagyson with the Lilim sisters' lightning. The Gagyson falls under their assault, and the other demons scatter. Kumiko rushes in with reckless abandon, drawing the attention of the Jambavan and the Bai Suzhen.
Kumiko attacks the Bai Suzhen, managing to take down both her other demons. Bai Suzhen herself takes a step back, attacking Kumiko with her evil wave and a powerful ice spell. Kijinuma heals the wound. The Jambavan attacks, and the two are locked in a struggle. Jambavan can't do much damage to Kumiko's team that they aren't healing, but Kumiko's team isn't doing much damage to the thick-skinned bears.
The rest of the demons start to close in on Kira. Kumiko jumps ahead, blocking the alleyway. Meanwhile, George smashes his way through the Jack Frost. Kira slips through the opening, getting behind George. The enemy Nekomata runs past George, charging Kira. One of the two Nekomata slashes Kira across the chest, but King Frost heals her. The King Frost steps in front of the next blow, laughing as he does so. Kira's Nekomata hisses at the other cats' attack, lashing out. George steps in, the Lilim sisters' lightning easily destroying the enemy Nekomata.
Kumiko quickly finds herself overwhelmed. She manages to hold her own until Kijinuma runs out of mana and can't heal anymore. As Kijinuma falls and Jambavan is badly wounded, Kumiko makes a break for the escape route. "Sorry, but I'm pulling out."
It's fine. George gives Kira a hand, tossing Sara between them. They break into a clumsy run, fleeing the demons. Their easy meal denied, the demons soon give up the chase.
"Are ya'll right?" George asks.
"You're lucky we were around, Kira... What happened?"
You explain about the sudden ambush, and how Sara shoved you out of the way, taking the attack herself.
"How did she know you were there...?" Kumiko asks.
You explain what Sara said about the dream, about the crow being killed in by a cat and the number 12, and how she'd had a feeling.
"Dreamin', huh? So... who is she?" George asks.
You explain that she's your girlfriend.
George's inflection changes several times. "Oh. Oh. Oh."
"That's... interesting," Kumiko says. "Um... Anyway, I need to get back to work. Are you OK from here?"
You tell Kumiko you should be fine, and thank her for the help.
"I gotta get back ta work, too," George says. "Ya'll're sure you're OK?"
"Mm... I'm fine," Sara says, rousing from her stupor. "Thanks for protecting my Kira."
"Er... No problem, Miss," George says. "If you'll 'scuse me." With that, George walks off.
You ask Sara if she's OK.
"Not... really," she admits. "Lost a bit too much blood. I'm... really dizzy." She struggles to her feet, then immediately grabs onto you for support. "Thanks... Ugh... No, I'm really not OK. Kira, I think... I need a transfusion."
You ask what you should do.
"Find a blood pack and a transfusion kit... A tall order, but I know you can do it, Kira," Sara assures you. "I'm just going to... take a little nap."
With that, Sara collapses in your arms. You find a small building and bring Sara into it. You place Sara in a closet. You rouse her for a moment, and tell her to wait for you here.
"OK, Kira... I'm not going anywhere. Don't worry, I've got my demons to protect me."
The time is 12:30. And now you have to go find a transfusion kit... Somewhere in this ruined city.

You call out the Lilim sisters and head towards the university. On the way, you trade messages with Rita, asking whether she thinks there'd be any blood packs on campus.
"The university doesn't have a medical school, but maybe the infirmary? Or the biology department?" she replies.
You kick yourself, remembering the university specializes in theoretical physics, astrology, and anthropology. Still, it has fairly well-funded biology and chemistry departments... And the infirmary's worth a shot. People have probably already raided all the basic supplies like bandages, but something more advanced like a transfusion kit might have gone untouched.
Your hopes are quickly dashed when you reach the office. It's in utter ruin, as if some kind of huge melee had taken place. "My, we missed something fun," Lilim White comments. You find a few bottles of cold medicine, a splint, and a roll of bandages. Useful, perhaps, but not what you're looking for. You feel compelled to drop them it all off with Rita - maybe she'll find a use for this stuff.
"What's all this, Kira? ...For me? Um... thanks..." she says awkwardly.
"Um... Do you want me to help you look? Why... do you need blood, anyway?"
You explain about the fight earlier, and how Sara was injured protecting you.
"Sara... I don't think I know Sara?" Rita asks indirectly.
You explain that you'd been going out with her for a bit over a year when this started, and how you've hardly been able to see her since the demons started appearing.
"Oh... Oh!" Rita says, her eyes growing wide in surprise. "That's... horrible. H-her being injured! Is horrible. ...And also everything else that's happened these last few weeks. It must be hard not being able to see her... B-but I bet you're really proud of her, right? Fighting to protect people..."
You explain that you know it's selfish, but you can't help but worry about Sara, and that you wish she had more time for you.
"I... I don't think that's really selfish. I think it's... human. A-anyway... Let's go find that blood."
You and Rita spend some time searching through the chemistry labs with no luck. Searching the biology department, you find several blood samples from various different animals, including some from humans. Unfortunately, there's not much... and it was being used to demonstrate the effects of different diseases on blood cells. Regardless, most of the blood's clotted, unusable - the freezers have failed.
"What a waste," Lilim Black sighs.
As you open one door, an overwhelming odor of decay forces you back. Even your demons wrinkle their noses in disgust. You cover your face and step into the room. Lab rats, dozens of them, dead. You can hear Bast hissing quietly in your pocket. A cat goddess is still a cat, apparently... Most of the rats seem to have starved, the ones that weren't in isolated cages seem to have eaten each other. A single brown rat is left alive. He stares at you as you cross the room. You stop in front of the cage and stare back. Something's off about this rat, but you can't quite tell- wait. He has a beard. Strange.
"This is... horrible..." Rita says as she enters the room, only to step back out, retching. You glance back at Rita. When you turn back to the rat, he's gone. As you leave the room, something - mercy? - compels you to leave the cage unlocked, and the rat free to escape.
"I have one more idea... Ugh..." Rita groans as you leave the biology department. "S-sorry... I'm... used to dead bodies by now, but the... smell from those rats... Anyway, there's a small first aid station in the gym. Maybe..."
Rita drags you to them gym. After smashing through some rubble in your way, you manage to find this small first aid station. It's... very small, but it's almost untouched. Rita rummages around for a bit under one of the desks. "Ah-ha!" Rita exclaims proudly. She gently places a bag of clear liquid, some tubing, and a needle down on the desktop. "I knew they'd have some saline around here! I know it's not... b-blood, but it's better than nothing. Adding some more volume may... be enough. But... maybe not... You can't get the blood too thin, or... Well, try to find some real blood first, and use that if you can't, I guess...?"
You thank Rita profusely for all her help, and she turns beet-red. "I-it's nothing! I w-wasn't doing anything anyway, s-so I'm... glad to help..."
You part ways with Rita and debate your next move...
