It's a shame so few people go on this. You've put so much work into it. When do u finish UK, couldnot you edit out the Fire Emblem parts and the choices, and publish it as an ee-book/novel?

I can, and fully intend to, put UB on fanfiction.net. AJ and I have been working on compiling UB into a document for a while now, and so far, the first six topics are available for download, but without the choices. However, I cannot publish UB as a book for copyright reasons. There aren't enough differences from Fire Emblem to establish Creative Difference under the Creative Difference clause.

(Continued)
Instead of choosing right away, Sonia decided to look around the room first. She retrieved an Iron Sword from a rack on the left wall and tested its grip in her hands. She took a few practice swings against one of the training dummies. The blade wasn't as heavy as she thought it would be, but...
Nyx suddenly sighed and walked up to her. Standing behind her, Nyx placed her hands on Sonia's arms. "Your arms are as rigid as solid rock, kid. Relax. You need to be relaxed and flexible to wield a blade. Here, like this."
Sonia found herself surprised by the kindness in the older woman's voice and the gentleness of her hands. But more than that, she was surprised by the strange familiarity she felt, almost like nostalgia. It was odd, and probably downright stupid considering she literally just met the woman, but Nyx's presence made her feel... Safe. She couldn't explain it. Something tugged at the edge of her memory, but Nyx suddenly stepped back and the fleeting moment came to an abrupt end, leaving Sonia feeling strangely hollow.
She mentally shook herself out of it, and ordered herself to concentrate. She took a few more swings and immediately noticed a difference. The sword was easier to control, and it didn't take nearly as much effort. Heck, it even felt lighter. But still... Something was off...
"I think I'm going to look around for a bit more first," Sonia says, hanging the sword back on the weapon rack. She started to walk away then suddenly remembered her manners and turned back to Nyx, bowing her head slightly. "Um... Thank you for the lesson, Lady Nyx."
Nyx blinks at her, giving her a bewildered, puzzled look. Her mouth then curves into the makings of a small smile. "You're quite the polite little lady, aren't you? You're welcome."
Again, an odd feeling spread within Sonia's breast and she smiled back, a wide, unguarded smile. Then she realized she was beaming like an idiot for no apparent reason and quickly turned away, embarrassed. What's wrong with me? How can she disarm me so easily? I don't understand... I don't even know her...
Sonia continued scouring the room for a weapon to use, until she noticed the glint of metal buried beneath a pile of old rusted throwaways. Curious, she knelt down in front of the weapon pile and began sifting through it. At the very bottom, she found a worn black leather belt with two holsters attached, a dagger in each one. She drew them from their sheaths and studied each one carefully. One dagger had an ornate bronze handle, with soft black cloth wrapped around it, and what appeared to be a fox's head at the tip. There was dust covering the handle in layers, but the metal was polished to a surprising sheen. In the center of the blade, the word "Kurubis" was carved in small, italic letters. The other dagger boasted an obsidian handle, with a stretch of white cloth wrapped around it, and the end of the handle twisted into the shape of a black serpent. Just like its partner, this dagger had a blade that was polished and sharpened to a fine edge. In the center was the word "Incarnate".
For whatever reason, she was drawn to the daggers. She could sense a deep magic within, old, powerful, but sealed. "Eh? What you got there, lass?" The old man- who's name she still didn't know, she realized- asked over her shoulder. She might have jumped at his sudden appearance, but was too enthralled by the daggers in her hands. She showed them to him, and he raised a single eyebrow.
"Those old rusted things? You sure that's such a good idea, girl?"
... Rusted? No, they're not-
Sonia looks back to the twin daggers in her hands, and sure enough, both of the blades were dull and rusted. The names inscribed on them were now little more than scratches, and she couldn't sense any trace of magic in them. Did I imagine it? No... I must have glimpsed their true potential.
"Yes," Sonia says adamantly, replacing the daggers in their sheaths and rising to her feet. She buckles the belt around her waist, which fits surprisingly well. "I've found what I'm looking for." She suddenly smiles and winks. "Call it a Sage's intuition. Speaking of... That reminds me. I um... I don't suppose there's a change of clothes lying around here, is there? My robes are kinda dirty, and they aren't exactly made for close combat... I'd probably trip too much to actually land a hit on my opponent."
Which would be kinda embarrassing... I'd also love a warm bath, but that's probably asking for too much...
The old man hesitates for a moment, then inclines his head. "I might have something. Come with me."
He turns around and heads to the room's only door, and Sonia quickly follows... Whatever his name is. "Um... Sir, what should I call you? I don't want to be rude."
He looks over his shoulder, just for a moment, and for a split second, Sonia thought she could see a hint of sadness in his eye. "Name's Garth."

Hey! This updated! Gosh, I missed quite a bit. I just finished reading the whole CYOA up to this point for the fourth time. I think that should serve as a testament to its quality, Neo. I feel really lucky to be able to participate in something this good ^-^

Sonia followed Garth out of the waiting area, and into a long circular stone corridor. The corridor trailed off to the right a long ways down, disappearing from view around a corner, and Sonia got the distinct impression that the corridor went in a circle around the arena. But she didn't see another door in the waiting room, so where did the circle lead to? A dead end?
There were several doors set against the left wall of the corridor, each evenly spaced from each other, and it was one of these Garth guided her into. It seemed to be his bedroom, though it was very sparse. "I've won a few matches myself," he explains, walking over to his closet. "But I lost once, and got kicked back to the junior leagues. That's what happens. You're either invincible, or you're a loser. It's just how it is here. But I ain't gonna complain too much. I still have a bedroom, and I managed to smuggle in some of my old prizes from my winning days. A couple of them should be of particular interest to you."
He opens the closet, and to Sonia's surprise, pushes a hidden button on the back wall. The false pannel slides open, revealing a row of long jackets and coats. Garth pushes those aside as well, revealing a hidden dresser with a combination lock on the first drawer. He unlocks the drawer and pulls it out, and Sonia immediately understands his need for secrecy. Locked away in four glass cases, each requiring a separate key to unlock, are four magical artifacts; A Master Seal, a Second Seal, a Heaven Seal, and an Earth Seal.
Sonia's eyes widen slightly in appreciation. "That's quite a collection you got there."
Garth nods. "I figured you'd already know what these are. Good, that saves us some time. Well, which one do you want then?"
Sonia blinks. "Wait... You're really going to give one to me? But..."
"Neither I nor Nyx have much use for them," he says, a hint of resignation in his voice. "We've reached the peak of our respective skill sets, and neither of us is eager to start over from scratch, not in a place like this. As for the Heaven and Earth Seals... Those are special, and won't respond to just anyone. I'd much rather you make use of one of them at least, then have them all gathering dust for eternity. Might just save your life."
Sonia bites her lip in indecision. He does have a point... And I don't want to refuse his generosity, that would be rude, but... What do I choose?
------ A: The Master Seal B: The Second Seal C: The Heaven Seal D: The Earth Seal

Last call for votes. D is currently in the lead. Here, cause I'm a nice dragon, I'll let you guys in on a little secret: Since you chose daggers as Sonia's weapon, and Anna decided to give you guys a certain Fell Arm, two of these options have the chance to unlock a special Unique Class for Sonia. And that class has a very powerful skill... Hint: The names of the daggers.

...Is that what the hint meant? Yeah, I had no idea what the names of the daggers implied. I just like the way Earth Seals look. On that note, still no idea about that other riddle. Is that even still relevant?

Is that even still relevant? Oh yes, it's definitely still relevant. And no one figuring it out is likely to have terrible consequences. As in, Death Flag level consequences.

Excellent! Anna can be merciful sometimes. A death flag? Fabulous. Hopefully someone knows what the riddle means, because I'm probably way off base, but I'll try anyways.
"A deceptive choice, A seductive voice. Can you uncode, Given time, The meaning of life, Lost to the Nine?
Or will you do, as lights and illusions do, And reduce your number back down to two?
Hurry now, tarry not. For the clock is ticking, on the hangman's knot."
Okay, so I think we're looking for "the meaning of life" lost to the Nine. "Reduce our number" down to two means someone's going to die, most likely. What groups of three do we have? What will we do that lights and illusions do? What do both lights and illusions do? We gotta solve this fast, or someone's going down. The clock's ticking. The hangman's knot is a noose. We're going to hang. What is the counter, why is it counting down, and what is it counting? What seven chances? To solve the riddle? This better not count. I'm stumped. Reading the past 20 pages hasn't helped.
