Monster Hunter: The Guild Hall

I don't know, actually. I'm so lost when it comes to multiplayer and all that other stuff. And I'm only in the third village. The abbreviations and acronyms are driving me crazy too, since I don't know about most of them.

And that's why Golurk and I are here, GX. To teach you.

That's the whole point of this topic, to help new hunters. And you're actually fairly far, believe it or not. You're almost at the final Gore Magala urgent for the Village quests, and after that, you have the final village and the epic fight with Shagaru Magala. You're almost at High Rank, so now is the perfect time to start on the Guild quests.

What exactly do you need to know?

High Rank is a separate category.

They are in-game terms, and it's used to determine the difficulty of the monster.

A High Rank Tetsu is stronger than a Low Rank Tetsu, being faster, having more health, doing more damage, and having more attacks. However, they also give you better materials for making better weapons and armor, and will eventually become just as easy, especially when you have G Rank equipment.

After you defeat Shagaru Magala and complete the Urgent quest. Once you complete all the 'stars' in a quest rank, like 1star to 5star for example, you are given what we vets affectionately call a 'Graduation Exam'.

A Graduation Exam is a special Urgent quest, usually much harder than normal Urgent quests, that you must complete before you can advance to the next tier.

There are 3 Graduation Exams in 4U.

Shagaru Magala: Grants you access to High Rank Village Quests.

Gore Magala: Grants you access to High Rank Guild Quests.

Ukanlos: Grants you access to G Rank Guild Quests.

To start a multiplayer session, you need to open your world map and select the Solo/Multiplayer at the top. Select the Online Multiplayer option, and choose create Gathering Hall, and select the settings. It's as easy as that.

We'll try to hunt in a little while, then. I just need a little rest first. I can barely keep my eyes open right now.

I'm very sure that I'm going to be very sick by tomorrow morning or Saturday.
