Aaaaaaand it was all for naught. Because soloing HR Kirin as a Blademaster is impossible. Whelp. I literally only need a few more parts before I can finish the set. But even with 365 defense, massive lightning resistance, and the best Water LS I can get right now, I still couldn't even make Kirin limp. Over 30 minutes, all my healing items, and I carted once because he stunlocked comboed me to death. Just like all monsters do. It wasn't worth it, so I abandoned the quest.
Honestly, the monsters in this game are so goddamn cheap. Every single time I've carted has been because of a Stunlock combo. Every. Time. And Kirin is the worst. Always raging, always moving, fast as hell, thunderblight and para, loves to combo, and you bounce off him like he's an Apex. Why is Kirin so damn awful in this game? He wasn't nearly this bad in 4U.

If you're using Striker, always have Absolute Evasion as a Hunter Art. It's fantastic for every weapon, even those with defensive arts already (two of the Lance Arts have built-in blocks and I still use AE).

Just whatever your best armor with the highest defense is. HR4's urgent is Plesi, isn't it? Plesi hits like a runaway train filled with military grade explosives no matter what you do.

So it turns out my current gunner armor can take a direct hit from a berserk Brachydios chained from a Deviljho tailwhip. Which is good, because I'm hunting with randoms to raise HR and and holy crap.

I joined this one random in doing Arena quests and we knocked out all non-Prowler ones in a row, with S Rank in all but two (Khezu and Plessy). On another note, Adept SnS is fun and retains the shield-smack super combo but not the cut super combo.
And Genprey SnS is ridiculous. It has the highest Para value of any weapon, I think, but SnS also hits faster than all but DB, and the non-Poison status DBs suck in this game (glares at Addled Beers with its 2 Sleep).

MH Stories is having its anime localized to the west, so we have a chance of getting the game.
I still want to see proper monster vs monster battles in the main series with unique animations and tactics. If two Were good meet, they should fight since they're extremely territorial, not bro it out and gang up on the hairless monkey.

And why is almost every inch of skin covered... except the crotch and inner thighs?

It's DLC only and isn't available (best fire LBG in the game though) yet.
Crow, try using Rapid Up for your Bow instead of Attack Up S. Rapid Up is a 20% bonus and always out damages Attack Up S at high levels iirc.
