"Tan Bane"? Is that somebody you made up in your head, or are you giving a character a nickname I haven't heard yet?

Gangrel was this guy, but tan. So the new king I'm hoping will be this guy, but tan. I mean, I could say "brown" but that seems racist.

..That's a fair point. Though I can't really consider Gangrel tan. He's got a very odd skin color IMO.

Maybe it's just the similarities to Jafar poking through.

I'm taking a look through the new classes. I could turn Frederick into a Gryphon rider, which would be cool but then he loses his lances. I already have an issue with too many winged units anyways. I think he'll stay Great Knight since I don't see the need to change him yet. Cordelia and Sumia can upgrade into half-mage types. I just so happen to have two Master Seals...so why not? One of each. Sumia to the Falcon Knight and Cordelia to the Dark Flier. I'm just gonna do a quick fight to get some things off this merchant before continuing on. Anna and Gaius would make a cute pair too! why can't Anna support with anyone Chapter 13: Of Sacred BloodAww the king is Validar. Robin does have a good point. Shouldn't they have buried his body...? Or does Grima have plot convenience powers? PFT, are we seriously doing Dark Robin? I mean I know spoilers, but I didn't expect there to actually be an EVIL TWIN PLOT in this. And I'm not buying that Robin is Validar's daughter, unless genetics are magic here too. Evil double...I am your father...this is the Empire Strikes Back! And now time for the contrived battle sequence. Random risen! I have an empty spot now in my party since I'm retiring both Panne and Kellam. So obviously I'll go back to the Waifu approach. Let's see...Lissa and Cordelia need Husbands. Hm...let's have Gaius tag along. Hi Henry. He's a necrophiliac. Gotcha. Maybe I'll pair him with Cordelia since her personality is dead boring. He's got a thing for killing...kinky. Do girls see this one like guys see Tharja? Henry is unabashedly messed up. I like that. These guys have got me surrounded so...phalanx formation! Bruisers up front, mages in the middle. Robin you count as a bruiser. I'm letting them come to me. I've got 4 healers, I should be able to take this and ROBIN GOT ONE SHOT! ...Game over count 1 I guess. Geez, when was the last time I saved... Phew, it was after the merchant. Alright, let's try this again. This time Robin is NOT a bruiser. In fact, I'm taking Kellam over Gaius. Note to self: don't get cocky. Definitely don't type something cocky here. I accidentally used Maribelle's Rally command. I probably should have learned what that is by now but I don't know waht it is. Oh MAN these new archers have range. Sumia was almost one shot. I am still always impressed by Donnel's EXP and stat gain. I'm thinking Tharja should go Sorcerer as my next Master Seal, since now I have Henry as a Dark Mage. Alright, turtling is getting me nowhere. I need to go to them. Well, I'll send the mobile units after them while the less mobile units cover their backs. Oh goodie, Robin has Ignis now. Time to tip the scales! This run went a lot more smoothly than the last. Obviously. Haha, gameplay integrated Lucina scene. She should have let him counterattack though! This chapter is a 2-for-1 on Parental Revelations. Anna is pleased. Awww, this scene is actually pretty good. Little to no build-up, but it's good. Chrom is sure taking the whole "this is my daughter now" thing well. AHAHAHA Maribelle thinks Chrom's cheating on her. Someone kidnapped and ENLARGED her daughter! And you're saying the Robin scene is better? Lol Aunt Lissa. It seems some Paralgoues have opened up that I can't get to yet. Hm...aha right, using a Master Seal on Tharja to Sorcerer. I realized I can just buy them at this store now, so I can stop planning for who's "first". Support Time! Chrom and Lucina auto C rank. Same with Maribelle, and oh cute they're being girly together. Donnel and Robin to B and whaddya know, they're cute together. Maybe I'm just attracted to a friendship born out of a love for innovation. Donnel is totally right that every woman in the army is a knockout. I guess a requirement for being a Shepard is being attractive. Robin and Lissa to B. I want a free massage too Chrom: S -Maribelle B - Robin, Frederick, Sumia C - Lissa, Sully, Vaike, Lucina Robin: B - Chrom, Lissa, Lon'qu, Donnel C - Frederick, Virion, Maribelle, Panne, Cordelia Frederick: S - Sumia C - Virion, Maribelle, Cordelia Maribelle: C - Lissa, Lucina Miriel: B - Ricken C - Stahl, Kellam Nowi: C- Gregor, Ricken Lon'qu: A - Tharja Cordelia: C - Panne Donnel: A - Kellam This list is getting very messy. I'm pretty sure I've screwed up a few iterations so sometimes I just type it out fresh. Anyways, that's all I'm going to do today.

I can't imagine it being intentional. She doesn't do anything, or add anything to the scene. It's just "lol Sumia you're drunk go home".

I lied about the "stopping for the night" bit. It's convenient to play a bit right before bed. I didn't advance the story though, just grind for supports. I thought I'd dust off Vaike, Stahl, and Sully for some Risen killing.
Intermission: Support Time Bonus Round
Cordelia and Henry C rank. Cordelia had a thing for Chrom? And she's obsessed enough to make him a gift 2 years after his marriage? I thought she was supposed to be a genius prodigy (informed attribute), not a Sumia clone. Henry is as lovably disturbed as ever. Lissa and Vaike got C rank, where nothing was learned. In a good way though. Sully and Stahl have C rank too, and I'll probably end up going with that couple since they're basically my case of pair the spares. Their support isn't half bad anyways, and I'm sure it's a nice nod to those that know the Fire Emblem lore better.
I'm sure I'm going to get more characters, but in the meantime my chosen pairings are looking like this:
Chrom X Maribelle Frederick X Sumia Robin X Donnel Lon'qu X Tharja Cordelia X Henry Sully X Stahl Ricken X Miriel
I do need to learn a bit more about Olivia, Cherche, and Libra, so I might do some extra levels with them next. Everyone else is still up in the air. Anyways, good night.

I'm going to be out and about today but I'm bringing my 3DS with. I wont be able to do my usual blow by blow style, but I will report in with anything major that develops at the end. I expect a larger Support Time section at the end to cover the day's progress in one go.
I'm finding it interesting that on normal casual, there is still very serious incentive not to have your units die (besides weakening your army). If they die they lose support points, and we cant have that!

Home sooner than I thought. Whaddya know, I only did two chapters while out. I spent most of my time playing with units I don't normally use in random skirmishes. Chapter 14: Flames on the Blue. The villain this time around is generic, but that's ok, they can't all be memorable. For what the game is limited to, Robin comes off ok as a "brilliant tactician". It just seems kind of...abrupt? They could have mentioned the oil back back when Plegia was offering ships for example. I was really hoping they'd integrate some sort of naval battle into this, but it's just a battlefield on ships. It's not really a complaint though, I just see good that could be better. Anyways, that's not what you want to hear about. Let's get into all that grinding I've been doing. First off, class changes. Henry is a Dark Knight. Donnel is a Hero. Lucina is a Great Lord. Now that that's out of the way... Support Time! I finally got the A rank with Chrom and Robin...and it's just the B scene except in reverse. I wonder what his wife would think. I got Donnel and Robin to A, and their little story there is pretty charming. I wouldn't have guessed that Mr. Pot-on-head couldn't cook though. Sully and Stahl are at A rank now, and they have quite a good story too. I don't know anything about them besides what's in their supports but the stereotypes are explored more and there's development on both sides!. That's what Robin and Donnel unfortunately lack, development. Cordelia and Henry are at B rank, and I'm thankful for the change to get to know Cordelia. I'm not sure where to place Henry though. I think I'll see some other support options before committing to this one, just because I want to know if anyone can make Henry tick. Hm...Cherche and Olivia I don't know a lot about either. Lissa still needs a husband... Speaking of Lissa, Libra was one of the units I've been trying out and I think I'll definitely keep him around given how strong he seems. He's gotten a C rank with both Lissa and Nowi. Nowi's been alive how long, and doesn't know what a human heart is? I do hope she's just pretending. I'm not about to hope there's a support out there where she gets serious though. That'd make her less loli and we can't have that. Finally, Lon'qu and Tharja hit S-rank! I have zero problems with this proposal, and I really feel that it's fitting. Anyways, another S rank, and that means... Paralogue 15: A Shot in the Dark
I don't remember all the details of the battle, but I remember that this was definitely challenging. I lost quite a few units, but once I managed to form a defense around Noire she took care of all those pesky flying units and Chrom, Robin, and Donnel cleaned up. Noire is adorable and her talisman shtick is both hilarious and incredibly fitting for Tharja's daughter. From the sound of it, Tharja isn't exactly the best parent, but there's a glimmer of meaning well in there that I hope is expanded on in her supports. Just that one scene where Noire goes "dark" without the help of her talisman...please please follow through with that! Lon'qu is pretty cute caring for Noire as well, but I do hope their relationship is fleshed out more. While I usually don't pay attention to the skills at all, the moment I decided Noire was a keeper was when she activated Lon'qu's Lethiality. Her eyes flash and she enters "dark mode" while the screen turns red and black for the kill with a single arrow...aw yiss. Blood and thunder alright. I upgraded her into a Sniper. Bows are back in my party. Support List: Chrom: S - Maribelle A - Robin B - Frederick, Sumia C - Lissa, Sully, Vaike, Lucina
Robin: A - Donnel B - Lissa, Lon'qu C - Frederick, Virion, Maribelle, Panne, Cordelia
Lissa: C - Vaike, Maribelle, Libra
Frederick: S - Sumia C - Virion, Maribelle, Cordelia
Maribelle: C - Lon'qu, Lucina
Lon'qu: S - Tharja C - Noire
Cordelia: B - Henry C - Panne
Nowi: B - Ricken C - Gregor, Libra
Miriel: B - Ricken C - Stahl, Kellam
Stahl: A - Sully
Tharja: C - Noire
Donnel: A - Kellam

Chapter 15: Smoldering ResistanceHi Say'ri. I'll try not to get your killed, but this one looks tough...I hope she's OP as heck to last a few turns. Strapping Chrom and Donnel to the Pegasi to rush them up there, while the rest take care of the beach. I should nickname Say'ri "MC Hammer" because obvious joke is obvious. I'll pass her an Armorslayer sword since there are all these big guys around. I should have brought more mages. I'm giving Noire a try, and she pretty much destroys any of the non-armour units here in one hit. Oops, almost forgot to visit the houses. So apparently Say'ri is the leader of Valm rebellion? Cool. I can't seem to place her accent though. Hehe, I've got an idea. Let's just snipe the commander from out of range. He literally just stands there and takes it. Normal mode huh? Robin so did not take out 1000 ships in a kamikaze attack. Remember what I said about underselling scenes? Ugh. Oh hey, they mentioned Tiki. I can access a Paralogue now, but before that...I have a support to check. Chrom and Sumia's A rank. Would I have gone this route? Nah. Sumia has way better chemistry with Frederick. Pie doesn't equal character! Paralogue 7: Noble LineageHello Brady. Aha, Maribelle and Chrom's son. A healer with his disposition is promising from a story perspective. His and Chrom's banter is cute. These guys are tough. I get the feeling that the Paralogues are supposed to be harder than the main story. There is absolutely no way to save these villagers since their snipers shoot through the walls. Luckily I have a ton of healers and Say'ri is an avoiding miracle. Donnel WRECKS these guys, and he takes less damage than Chrom or Robin. I've got Noire counter-sniping along-side her bow-wielding father Lon'qu. And here I see the majority of my troops finally surpass Frederick in usefulness. Unfortunately Maribelle got sniped by the commander, which would be tragic if it were permanent. ...Actually how would that work? Brady is Maribelle's son and Maribelle hasn't had him yet. Would it be game over? Anyways CHROM X BRADY PAIR UP FINISHER! I even managed to save a villager. He gave me a Mend. Oh Maribelle. The dynamic here is really really sweet. Unfortunately I don't think I have room in my party for a pure healer anymore. I have a trickster, war monk, sage, valkyrie, and falcon knight. I think I'm going to have to relegate him to B-squad. I'm definitely getting his supports with Maribelle later though. Support Time! Brady making tea for Chrom...you know what I don't get? They're doing the "upper class thug" thing without actually having a straight-up thug. It's like they skipped a step. Maribelle and Brady C-rank and lol @ grammar nazi Maribelle. Let's see the sibling dynamic...Lucina's the older sister obviously. Hijinks, but Chrom is really taking the whole "I'm a father of two now" into stride VERY well. Noire and Lon'qu B rank. Basically just a cliffhanger to the A rank...darn. I'd work on getting the Tharja/Noire support, but keeping squishy ranged attackers together isn't always easy. Also, Donnel/Lissa C rank...and he's brother-zoned. Cute. I'd take this further, but then I'd have to figure out who Robin's husband is going to be again. Lucina and Robin's C rank is perfectly sensible. Between this and the Chrom/Robin supports it's like they're begging for fanfiction. Chrom: S - Maribelle A - Robin, Sumia B - Frederick C - Lissa, Sully, Vaike, Lucina, Brady
Robin: A - Donnel B - Lissa, Lon'qu C - Frederick, Virion, Maribelle, Panne, Cordelia, Lucina
Lissa: C - Vaike, Maribelle, Libra, Donnel
Frederick: S - Sumia C - Virion, Maribelle, Cordelia
Maribelle: C - Lon'qu, Lucina, Brady
Lon'qu: S - Tharja B - Noire
Cordelia: B - Henry C - Panne
Nowi: B - Ricken C - Gregor, Libra
Miriel: B - Ricken C - Stahl, Kellam
Stahl: A - Sully
Tharja: C - Noire
Donnel: A - Kellam
Lucina: C - Brady

Chapter 16: Naga's voice
Why does every single RPG I've ever played have a sacred tree? Even Magical Starsign had one (which I highly reccomend) and that's sci-fi..ish.
Ahahaha, they're so far into villain identities that they've defined this one by his facial hair. Can't blame them though, I'll be remembering Cervantes's epic stache. And this spider thing...the troops are retreating. I sense a trap. Let's go spring it.
Reinforcements from behind. Not that bad...Sumia got oneshot by an archer though. AND Cordelia now. I'm never going to shake this weakness to archers am I? Anyways, no hitches besides that. But I am really liking the villain who puts his faith in his mustache of science. To bad he's getting Donnel/Robin to the face. And nothing survives that.
Hi Tiki. She knows Marth? Huh. Um...ah forget it. I don't need to know the Fire Emblem lore. I'm just gonna pretend she played Smash Bros Melee. And obviously we can't name the gemstones after english colours, because that would be silly. The different language takes us into the realm of fantasy! And are we seriously going Triforce piece hunting? In Zelda it makes sense since that game is dungeon based. But in this game it's obvious that no matter what the scenario is, the gameplay is going to be the same, so why not make a scenario that isn't a fetch quest?
Also, a realization I had a while ago: Nowi looks like she does because as a dragon she has no need for human sex characteristics. It makes sense that her body doesn't mature from being a child because she's not human and doesn't have the same hormones. If she were to take human form, she would take the form of a human that hasn't been "modified", hence the excuse to be a loli. Now that that's out of the way...why the hell do they have to go and give Tiki breasts? Science weeps.
Support Time!
I got Tharja and Noire up to B. Noire is officially just a lab rat...sad. Still, I'll hope for a better payoff. Lon'qu and Maribelle are at B. I want to see Lon'qu react to a little girl attacking him with a spoon. Tharja's is still better, despite how screwed up Noire is. Alright, lets see Gaius and Lissa C rank. Lissa like kitties. I'm on board with this. And Gaius can sew. Kinda cute. Still, nothing revolutionary. Who else could I pair with Lissa...

I was going to have Lissa and Gregor build support...but Gregor got filled with arrows in that battle. Unfortunately I think everyone except Lissa got support points this round...and now there's no more mooks to grind on. Moving on then. Chapter 17: Inexorable DeathCastle Raiding time. I'm keeping a close eye on those archers that can shoot through walls. I'm bringing my Pegasuses and I don't want them dying on me again! I think I'll go with Gaius for Lissa's partner for the time being, unless the support doesn't go anywhere. I should class-up Gaius, but I already have both an assassin and a trickster. And Anna is better at it. Going smoothly until...what the heck is Excellus? And I do mean "what". It looks like we're out of the realm of femme-looking villains and into straight androgynous. I've smartened up and discovered teh thing where you can select enemies to know where their range is. I'll just mark every archer so I can keep Cordelia and Sumia safe. Why haven't I done this before? I turn my brain off when gaming. Anna is seriously underwhelming in terms of damage output. She's still an evasion tank though. I'm thinking I'll replace her with Cherche or Olivia though for the sake of supports. And now, Donnel and Robin are going to run up to Pheros and kill her with a Ladle. Aw yeah. Ladle ftw. I'm still unclear as to why the "Rebellion" is rebelling against our party...Excellus tortured them into it...? I don't get it. I must have missed something. And another thing...Show don't tell people! If our armies are being destroyed then show me! There might be credence to the fact that in a real war you wont be able to see the entire scope of the war but at least show us Robin, our brilliant tactician, visualizing it or something. See? Now this scene with Basillo is how you use your medium well. Support Time! Henry and Cordelia reached A. Henry is actually quite cute trying to cheer Cordelia up. Yeah, I'm sticking with this route. Although...Gaius and Cordelia reached C. From what I can tell though, this is completely different from Cordelia's character with Henry...I guess the developers didn't really have a fix on her either. Sumia is as Sumia-ey as ever in her C rank with Robin. I get the feeling that Lucina is a closet Chrom/Robin shipper. Why else would she be so interested in Robin's sultry designs for her father? Ah, I'm s glad Robin isn't her father. This support is wonderfully entertaining. And finally...wedding bells for Robin and Donnel! Aww she calls him Donny. And whaaat is up with this close up of his face? I suppose the avatar gets special treatment. And that means it's time for... Paralogue 12: Disowned by TimeAhahaha Morgan's a villager. That's adorable! You are going to inherit your father's log! And he has amnesia too. Figures. This stage is a lot easier than other Paralogues have been. I'm trying Cherche out some more this round and...I cannot place what she's trying to do with her voice. Kinda seductive? I have no clue what this girl is like. At least with Olivia I get what her deal is on sight. And AAH darn it she got killed. I was hoping to get a support with Gaius for her but...well, there goes that plan. Checking his supports now. Unfortunately he's not as adorable with Robin as the other kids have been with their parents. Something tells me that Morgan's supports with Donnel are all made so change husbands with as little difficulty as possible. Chrom: S - Maribelle A - Robin, Sumia B - Frederick C - Lissa, Sully, Vaike, Lucina, Brady
Robin: S - Donnel B - Lissa, Lon'qu, Lucina C - Frederick, Virion, Maribelle, Panne, Cordelia, Sumia, Morgan
Lissa: C - Vaike, Maribelle, Libra, Donnel, Gaius
Frederick: S - Sumia C - Virion, Maribelle, Cordelia
Maribelle: B - Lon'qu C - Lucina, Brady
Lon'qu: S - Tharja A - Noire
Cordelia: A - Henry C - Panne, Gaius
Nowi: B - Ricken C - Gregor, Libra
Miriel: B - Ricken C - Stahl, Kellam
Stahl: A - Sully
Tharja: B - Noire
Donnel: A - Kellam C - Morgan
Lucina: C - Brady

Actually, the gemstones are named using heraldry colors, which makes perfect sense when you realize the Fire Emblem is a shield.
