Lon'qu!Severa can actually solo Apotheosis without LB, because she simply can't be hit. I don't remember what the exact setup is, but even the Super Boss can't hit her. It's ridiculous.

That set uses a Breaker skill to guarantee avoid against one weapon type. And Chrom and Robin can solo Apotheosis as early as chapter 12. Being able to solo Apotheosis means little to nothing with Vengeance Vantage.

Chapter 5: The Exalt and the King
I was going to comment on Gangrel being the "enemy feminine king" stereotype, but every man in this game is feminine.
Fire Emblem. You know what? All this time and I never even wondered what "Fire Emblem" is. Then again, I never asked about "Metroid" either, but that was solved when assist trophies came around.
I'm giving Lon'qu and Donnel another chance. The game's getting harder now so I'll keep Frederick. Virion and Kellam were invaluable last battle so they're in, so that just leaves one more. Ricken is probably going to join, so I don't need Miriel, so for the sake of Waifus I'll go Sumia.
I'm glad I took Sumia now, since she can immediately reinforce the two stragglers. Ricken just one-shot a wyvern rider that hit him down to 1 HP, which is nice, especially since Maribelle is another healer. Finally I can be a bit more risky with Lissa since I can heal her (I have an OCD against using consumable healing items...but somehow the durability stuff doesn't get to me)
Lon'qu and Frederick just back-to-back killed 5 guys through counter attacks alone. Something tells me that the previous match was a lot tougher that this will be. I paired Kellam up with Donnel to boost his defenses up a bit. There's too many units here for my liking anyways, so I might as well combine them a bit.
Chrom counters an attack on Sumia for the kill, and then one shots the leader guy with the Falchion.
Support time!
Chrom and Sumia share their first secret. Oh Sumia, I'm sure Chrom wants to hear about your lips. And Kellam was a farmer, that's cute.
Chrom: Robin - C Lissa - C Sully - C Frederick - C Vaike - C Sumia - C
Robin: Lissa - C Virion - C
Miriel: Stahl - C
Donnel: Kellam - C

One of the axe enemies has a ranged attack. I'm always caught off guard by that, even though I really have no excuse since they outright tell you what every unit can do. But I'm apparently too casual for that. You'll face a lot of enemies using Hand Axes, HD. But Hand Axes have terrible hit, and early game axe users are pitiful on Normal mode, and Lonny has really good avoid, even if you haven't raised him and he's unpaired. Couple that with the Weapon Triangle, and you get why Emppy and I are so flabbergasted he was killed by a Hand Axe. By all rights, he shouldn't have even been hit. Lonny is your main Avoid Tank of the game, at least of 1st gen anyway, and he usually dodges everything. I'll keep that in mind then. I suppose I just got really unlucky... Also, thanks for the tip about logs Doug. I'm gonna stop now for the day, but I might come back later tonight and do a bit more. Good to know I'm not boring people

Chapter 6: Foreseer
Time paradox? I don't expect this game to get into time travel mechanics all that much, but I'm obliged by my genre bias to hope so. I suppose a bigger question is "how does a mask hide hair"?
I'm giving Lissa a break for Maribelle now. I don't know if there's any point in using Miriel over Ricken except for Waifu factor, so Miriel it is. Unfortunately Vaike is an inferior Lon'qu, and Sully and Stahl are outmatched by Frederick and Sumia. I've used up my bias picks with Donnel and Kellam.
Split up again, so my first priority is joining the groups. And I get a new unit for the heck of it, sure why not.
And Sumia dies again! This time because I didn't check the movement range of the horses. Maybe I should give up on the whole pegasus knight thing if I'm not careful enough to take care of her...The group with Lucina is really getting beaten up...and now they're surrounded. I should have sent reinforcements there instead of focusing on guarding the door. Donnel is actually doing some good in the group, finishing guys off.
Oh hey, I can talk to this guy. Gaius...candy lover. Gotcha. and OH MY GOD SHE'S A WERE-BUNNY! YES! WERE-BUNNY! YES! NEW FAVOURITE UNIT...I should get her name. Panne. Well, Lapin (La-pan) in rabbit in French so...
Miriel is down. Inconceivable! It was only a matter of time though, what with her surrounded. I could only rescue one person out of that mob so I picked Virion and OH SNAP Lon'Qu is taken by the same horses that got Sumia. That's it, Frederick and Chrom are beelining for these guys.
I should have two healers. Too much damage, and only one heal per turn. Not that I could have saved Gaius who got axed in one blow (literally). I also just realized now that you can pair people if they're low to save them, so Robin's sticking to Chrom and I'm putting Panne on Frederick. Wouldn't you know? Panne + Frederick one-shots Validar.
All in all, a learning experience. I've never played a tactics game with a field so large before so basically, just gotta be more careful.
Of course were-bunny is the last of her kind. Otherwise I'd demand more of them for the army. Speaking of which, where the hell have those Ylissan Pegasus Knights been in all this?
Question: Why does Grima sound like a hot chick? ...you there with the dragon fetish, put your hand down. It was rhetorical.

Of course Sumia reads fortunes with flowers. Even off the battle field Stahl seems to chat with people a decent amount. Anyways, the only new thing is that Frederick and Chrom are now B-rank. I'd waste time listing everything again, but I just realized I missed doing a paralogue so I think I'd rather write about that.

Paralogue 2: The Secret Seller
...do I recruit Anna here?
Anyways, lesson learned. Lissa and Maribelle are both coming. Sumia can sit this one out. And sorry Miriel but Robin's got magic covered. I need space for Panne. I don't quite see the need for a thief yet, so unfortunately Gaius is out too.
Hey it's Anna. Hm...maybe Sumia would have been a good idea since I need to rush out there. I'll have Frederick do that instead, and take Kellam with him for the defense boost.
Anna is wrecking stuff, but she doesn't seem to get that she should kill the archers that are picking her off...Meanwhile, I can't seem to get out of these trees fast enough to save her.
Well, she dead. There's goes that plan. Frederick is ripping the arches up with his hand axe just a liiiittle too late. Either way, I'm finally playing with that pair up system. Getting Chrom to attack at a distance thanks to Virion is kind of cheap.
And once again, Panne+Frederick for the OHKO on the leader. Donnel+Kellam and Chrom+Robin clean up. Remember when I said that I wont try to force pairings, well Chrom+Robin is kind of the most OP pair in the game so it'd be silly not to use it. Although...I should try Chrom+Frederick.
Oh yay, Anna's alive. Or is this another Anna? Anyways, I hope I didn't botch the chance to recruit her. NO SPOILERS. Normally I'm OCD about missables, but this time I am doing my best just to play the game and not worry about playing it "right".

Donnel and Maribelle are chatting...actually that would be kinda cute...Hm. Anyways, Chrom and Robin are at rank B now, and executing tomboy love story cliche #2 together.
Chrom: C: Lissa, Sully, Vaike, Sumia B: Frederick, Robin
Robin: C: Lissa, Virion
Miriel: C: Stahl
Donnel: C: Kellam

Intermission
I decided to try and beat some randoms without using Chrom and Robin. Nothing extraordinary, but Sumia's Death Count is now at 3. I'm thinking I should just give up on her...Donnel is picking up though, and he's Rank B with Kellam now. Kellam's movement is too limited for me to consider using him as anything but a support at this point, which is fine by me.
I bought one of those second seal items. Chrom and Lissa are my only units above level 10, but I don't think I'm changing them. Chrom needs to keep Falchion-ing people, and Lissa's my best healer. I don't need her to gain a weakness to horses or arrows.
DO NOT TELL ME HOW TO MANAGE CLASSES! Advice is ok, but I don't care if it's not "optimal" or what skills the offspring get. If anything, it should be more interesting if I do things that aren't what everyone else does, right?
I think that's it for today. Don't expect much for tomorrow either since I plan to be out.
This game is fun. It's better than any of the other tactics games I've played based on sheer gameplay alone. The characters are stereotypes, but at least they exist unlike FFT. So far though, I'm not tempted to grind supports to see the scenes. I'd do it for OCD completion, but not just for the sake of seeing them interact.

Chrom can use Falchion in any class except Archer or Sniper (because they don't use swords.) It's Rapier that's Lord class only.
Just FYI.

Because Grima is undoubtedly the sexiest female in Awakening. I hugged the Fell Dragon and smiled as her eyes of destruction looked at me. We spent many a time hugging and other things that I won't speak of. Um, HHD, don't you know how to soft reset? No offense, but I cringe every time you say a unit dies. I know it's your first game, but I cringe at the thought of a soldier dying. Perhaps it's my mentality to persevere lives. Even on casual, I reset because of it.

I know that, but I still cringe. I doubt he'll do a second play through, but I hope he does. He sounds like the type of guy who is smart and can do tactical strategy. Which is baffling that his units are dying!
But... He isn't a military soldier to my knowledge, so... Still, keep up the good work!
