In the city of Helmgarde, times have been tough for the past ten years. A weak ruling class and the ambitions of the Stouts caused much of the citizenry to be left impoverished. Trade had been monopolized and the lower class elves had grown reckless. An uprising was sure to occur until the plague struck. Mass deaths, no treatments, and no one willing to look after the sick decimated the population of all of Gransen. Many towns had become anarchical, capturing and slaughtering those they thought responsible, be they nomads or nobles. After six years of plague, the Pantheon has supplied the idea that witches are responsible for the contagion. This caused a surge of trials, even though magic was a fairy tail. There was no magic, no wonder. It was just fear. Despite this, even those under the god of healing, Manuel, have joined this inquisition. Paladins travel from village to village, leading the goose chase against any and all who are deemed to be witches.

So... is the whole point of the RP to burn the witches?

Not entirely. While some might be Paladins, many might be travelers, adventurers, accused witches, merchants, and other folk.

I'm tempted to make a character just so he can be Merlin. Was gonna say Morgana Le Fey... But I have a hunch she's already in this, and is GX's character.

I know, I was playing around. Still, you can't have a burn the witch RP without Morgana or Abigail. You have to have at least one iconic witch.

Name: Eisen Krieger Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 38 Appearance: A mostly disfigured body, with many scares and dark patches. About 5'11". Medium build, but he has a partially withered right leg. Missing fingers on his left arm. Profession: Paladin Biography: A soldier in the Gransen army, which held tensions with neighboring countries. Although he was only a sergeant, he did receive a few honours for his work. He hasn't killed any beasts, nor has he claimed to. Shortly after he had returned from a long tour to his family, the plague struck, wiping out his village, save for him. He caught the plague, and it heavily warped his body, causing much of it to rot and darken. Barely surviving it, he currently serves as a Paladin in order to hunt witches to end the plague.

Well, there are Stouts, which are essentially Dwarves. They are monotheistic and very bureaucratic.
Then there are the Elves, which are slightly lizard-like partially aquatic humanoids. They're very frail and are often subjugated.
Last are the Golems, which are actually a small, tough, worm-like creature that binds various stones to its body. These are very simple biologically but are still just as intelligent as a human.

...can I just make up monsters in this? With your permission to build on your world.
That was what I was going to do with my Austur character anyways.

Well, a lot of details were discussed in the EWiaD.
It's essentially the Dark Ages.
