Would a Spectral Dragon be a possibility? Not so mich as a new class , but like the spirit of some dead dragons. The can't effect the material plane, but they could possess living things for like 5 minutes, (depending on life stage). The wouldn't grow. I don't know about possession... Seems to me that could easily get into Godmodding territory and/or make things a little too complicated. But Dragon Spirits could be a thing. |

Shenlong - Spirit Dragon
The Shenlong dragon species is best defined by its life cycle. A newly born member of the species is not officially recognized as a dragon. The child Shenlong is a small reptilian creature (think Mushu), often blue in colour. It is able to breathe water, and swim through the air as it would water, but it has none of the supernatural powers it would have as a fully fledged dragon. In every Shenlong's possession is a Divine Pearl, which allows it to commune with the spirits of its ancestors.
For the child Shenlong to mature into an adult dragon, it must prove itself to its ancestors that it is worthy of a Dragon's powers. This is not only in terms of physical ability, but also in terms of psychology and worthiness to become a deity. This culminates in a final trial, which is a ritual performed at a sacred location called the Dragon's Gate. Should the child Shenlong pass this trial, its pearl will fuse to its body and its ancestors will bestow upon it the powers of a Shelong Dragon. If they fail, their pearl shatters, and they become a Sea Serpent.
The adult Shenlong Dragon has divine control over every aspect of the weather. It can dissolve itself into water to become as a river, a cloud, or a thunderstorm. Its dragon form is a large serpentine Dragon that can stretch for miles long, with four limbs with five claws on each, and antlers adorning its head like a crown.
At the end of the Shelong Dragon's thousand year life span, it lays eggs and ascends the mortal coil to convene with its ancestors. Its body dissolves to rejoin the oceans and skies, leaving nothing but its Divine Pearl, which is passed down to the offspring.

Now all you have to do HD is make it balanced Gameplay wise. Absolute control over the weather combined with breathing underwater and high altitude breathing is way, way too broken. |

Hm...stick to the shape shifting aspect then. It becomes water/cloud/vapor and that is the aspect of weather it has control over. So it can't summon a thunderstorm or a hurricane, it becomes the storm and the wind. In Dragon form it has low physical combat stats, and no breath weapon.
