Want to hear something funny? I can't balance magic because magic is completely overpowered.
Want to hear something else funny? I tried to recreate the entire world from scratch starting with bacteria. I got reasonably far, but got stuck around the part when I started getting to organism kingdoms I was less familiar with like fungi. Fish also are kind of frustrating, which is why I mostly bypassed them. Unfortunately, I really am limited in my knowledge of invertabrate biology.
Do you know what else is funny? In the process of doing all this, I realized while the world would probably make for a good story (as long as I could figure out how to achieve intercontinental travel without the use of airships, I'm thinking when the world wakes she starts an ice age in order to wipe humanity off the face of the planet. Volcanoes would erupt all around the world covering the entire planet in ash, so that the heroes would have to find the Origin and seal the leylines with the lunar shards, possibly committing the destruction of a whole species in the process, as well as destroying the last hope of their deity's resurrection, see. (There I go. Isn't this already in parentheses )). I have a good story, but a terrible game that was clearly not thought through enough, and it is SO irritating to fail twice. I was so sure I had it this time.
