Fawful and his Furymon
"Chlortles did you hear that the man with a plan adressed me," Fawful said very happily. Pixy countiuned to have a death clutch on the star rod especially now that Jeckle wanted. "Come Pixy give me the star rod," Fawful said. "This nice and gentle man wishes to see it with his fury and the chlortles," Fawful said as Pixy just stared at him.
"You can't be serouis Pika," Pixy said. "This rod channels the wishes of everyone, and makes them come Pika," Pixy said. "This Nut Pika will do very bad things with it," Pixy said.
"I would assskk if your were out of your mind but considering who you are," Fen Fen said growling towards Fawful. "You want it so bad you have to get it from usssss," Fen Fen said to Fawful.
"You are trying to make me out to be a person of fool, but I shall show you," Fafwful said chasing after Fen Fen and Pixy.
Dimento just watches in amusement at what is going on. "Hmm well now maybe I could use this to my advantage but for now this game of catty mouse and squeaking cat should be fun," Dimento said with much joy.
Fen Fen used her Physcic powers to manipulate the surfboard they were on. As fast as Fawful was on his flying helment and as fast as CHlortles can travel in the shadows they couldn't outspeed Fen Fen. The reason was Fen Fen could sense whenever one of them would get close and either hit them with a physcic blast or Pixy would hit them with a Thunderbolt.
"What are you doing, Fawful gave you an order we have to obeyyyyy?" Chlortles said.
"It would be Pika if the trainer didn't order something Pikasidal," Pixy said. "Besides it's Yugo not Fusion thats not our Fawful this is a cheap knock off of the Fawful we know and love," Pixy said to Chlorltes.
"Pixy I tried to warn you but nooooo you were all like Pika this Fawful it's fine, look at me I am a Pikachu playing dress up and I pretend to be a Pika Pika," Fen Fen said very annoyed with Pixy.
"Not the time, besides I am a scientist," Pixy said to her. "I was working in a lab before Fawful captured me like a common Pkachu," Pixy said.
"But you are a normal Pikachu," Fen Fen reminded her. Pixy just gave her a menacing glare (or as menacing one can be behind a pair of adorable glassses) towards Fen Fen.
"Well this was surly fun but things have to be done, people have to be spoken with, places have to be visted," Dimento said as he teleported in front of Pixy and Fen Fen. "My my what an entertaining pair you two are but I beleive, my friend Fawful needs this," Dimento said as he grabbed the Star Rod and teleported next to Fawful.
"What a wonderful friend you happen to be," Fafwful said as he took the Star Rod from Dimento. "Now Jeckle was it I present to you the rod of stars where your wishes can come true with it," Fawful said as he gave the rod to Jeckle.
Pixy and Fen Fen looked furouis towards Dimento and when they unleashed a barrage of Thunderbolts and Flamethrowers his way he just effortlessly dissapered and reappered towards them. "Now what was your name Pixy was it, I only have to tell you this Pika Pika," Dimento told Pixy in a taunting matter. "As for you Fen Fen you could be a nuinsence but maybe not, maybe what you seek is in this land after all," Dimento told Fen Fen who just fell silent. "Well this has been fun, Ciao," Dimento said as he warped away.
"Pixy that could be him he might be alive," Fen Fen said.
"It's just a trick to mess with us," Pixy said
"Or he could be telling the truth, maybe he's here after all," Fen Fen said
Pixy just stared at Fawful and Jeckle and had a rellay bad feeling about what just happened. "Fen Fen I hope you are right that he is here because I fear what Fawful has done will be Pika news for us," Pixy said.

Lana
Umm sure mom can we go someplace private where the two of us can talk," Lana said to Glinda. The only thing that could run through her mind was the conversation she had earlier today.
(Place holder text for Lana, Aylssa, Baron conversation)
"Hey mom I wanted to ask is there anything I can do to help," Lana asked her mom

Alvis walked down the hall, looking downward in thought.
A new, unidentified beast sighted leaving the eastern Ephesian borders... If reports are to be believed, then it is not allied with them, but where did it come from? It is certainly not native to Oz -- I haven't seen anything like it -- but is it a creation of the Ephesians, or a product of the wordsmith ritual? Furthermore, would it be in our best interest to pursue it?
Alvis pushed his ponderings to the side as he reached the room he was looking for. He knocked three times. "Sir Nobunaga? Are you there?"

"I'll keep that in mind," Nobunaga says.
A few moments later, as he and June approached his room, he stopped short, his eyes narrowing slightly. Alvis, Yuelia's highest ranking General and the Queen's most trusted advisor, stood in front of the door.
"General Alvis? May I help you with something?"

Alvis turned to see Nobunaga accompanied with another lady holding trays of food.
...That is a lot of food for two people... Do the undead eat, even?
"Sir Nobunaga," Alvis began, "Apologies for delaying your meal, but this is important. One of our divisions, Alexus's Legionaires, are preparing to attack Yggdrasil tomorrow, the objective being to enter and secure the tree before Ephesian reinforcements or The Witch are to arrive. I came to request Outlander support for this mission."

Nobunaga visibly inhales sharply. "Allow me to speak plainly, General Alvis," he begins, his voice grim. "I do not know if you are capable of sensing the life force, or energy of other beings as I am, but I will assume you cannot. Tell me, these Legionaries of yours, are they mortal? Because what I sense from that dragon is a slumbering energy comparable to the Old Gods of my homeworld. I believe it may be every bit as dangerous as the Witch or the Abominations, perhaps more so. And I am still recovering from my fight with the Ephesian General. If the Outlanders march tomorrow, I will not be able to accompany them. I warn you that attacking so soon, with so little information about our enemy, and committing all Outlander forces to the attack, may very well lead to a decisive defeat for Yuelia. I believe it to be far too risky to attempt an invasion of Yggdrasil at this time, and that is my official assessment. Do you still wish to request Outlander support?"

"Yes," Alvis answered bluntly. "Time is a resource we do not possess much of. The Ephesians are planning something big; we've felt an unprecedented report of seismic activity from behind their walls, they've sent one of their generals to attempt a direct attack at the risk of massive casualties, and it's quite obvious they desire something from Yggdrasil, and they want it to a considerable extent. In addition, it is only a matter of time before The Witch itself acts to reclaim the tree from that dragon. Every moment we spend without acting is another moment for Ephesus to bring themselves closer to reaching their goal, and another moment for The Witch to gather its armies; and if she reclaims the tree, then entry would be even more difficult for us to achieve.
...The Legionairies are among our most powerful forces, alongside the Angelos. Their men are trained to have reached peak human potential, Alexus, their general, is -- simply put -- superhuman. He has already traded blows against the dragon shapeshifter in a duel. Arrogant as he may be, I do think they may have a chance of claiming entry to the tree."

Satisfied, Nobunaga inclines his head. "I had already expected that answer. Very well then. We will do what we can to help."
He turns to June, smiling slightly. "Lady June, it seems you'll be going on your first assignment a bit sooner than we expected. I will do my best to join you as soon as possible."

June's mouth tightens into a worried frown. "I see." She hands Nobunaga's tray back to him. "In that case, I suppose I should go inform the others while they're still gathered at dinner."

Alice hurriedly rushes to finish polishing the chairs in the Outlanders' rooms during dinner. The end of her shift - and Geraldine's deadline - is dangerously close, but there's only one room left after this... She knows she needs to rush, but knows it needs to be done perfectly, as well. Just as she finishes the last of these rooms, a chill wind blows through the hall. Geraldine stalks out of the room across the hallway.
"Your shift is over," Geraldine announces. "Did you finish your task, or are we going to enjoy some nice, quality time time together in the dungeon tomorrow?"
"I... I haven't finished," Alice admits.
Geraldine smiles. "Well, then, you've quite a treat to look forward to. I hope you aren't too excited to sleep well tonight."
"But... But I never had a chance to clean the throne room," Alice protests. "I can't just barge in on the queen! Or else you'd be mad about that..."
"That's correct. Poor luck," Geraldine says. She looks off thoughtfully. "I suppose you did good work on what little you did accomplish, though. Perhaps I'll show some leniency. Now, I suggest you hurry along. The chefs are already cleaning, and Pierre isn't known for his patience." She takes Alice's cleaning supplies from her hands. "I'll take care of this."
"Yes, ma'am..." Alice says. She changes out of her dirty uniform and walks walks down to the kitchens.
She finds most of the chefs already gone. A freshly made sign declaring no muffins now hangs on one wall. Pierre stands in the the center of the room, absentmindedly shuffling a deck of cards. "Hmph. Pierre was beginning to question if ze lovestruck maid vaz going to show up. No time to vaste on pointless chatter. Ve vill begin immediately. First, vous must choose ze dish you vill prepare." He skillfully lays the cards out face-down in a diamond pattern.
Alice cocks her head in confusion. "Um... Wait, how am I supposed to-"
"Trust ze 'eart, young one, to choose ze destiny!" Pierre demands. Alice hesitantly reaches for a card. "Non! No thought! Ze 'eart!"
Alice draws her hand back, then confidently picks up the top right. She flips it over to reveal a recipe. Pierre glances over her shoulder. "Hon? C'est interessant... Ze tart. C'est un magnifique flavor. It may be made sweet yet not overpowering, or it may be made rich and, as ze name, tart. You are interested in zis guard, yet unsure, no?"
"Um... I suppose..." Alice says. "He's... sweet, but he can also be such a jerk sometimes!"
"Vell, vell. Very vell, let us begin. Vous will be doing ze vork, and I vill make zure vous do not burn ze kitchen down vile I finish ze cleaning of ze rest of ze kitchen. I vish to zee vous pour ze 'eart and zoul into ze dish!" Alice pulls a tray of four small pastry shells from the oven and slides in a bowl of glaze. She carefully adds her fillings as the glaze warms. Chocolate, strawberry jam, blueberries and cream, and custard... All hand-made under Pierre's close supervision. She lightly spreads the warm glaze across the miniature tarts.
"Now, back is ze oven for 2 minutes - non, zat iz not on ze recipe, zat iz Pierre's secret. Zen into ze freezing cold. Vile it cools, vous vill clean," Pierre says.
"O-of course!" Alice says. "That's my specialty."
"Hm. For a maid to be allowed to clean in Pierre's kitchen - know zis is a high honor. Vous 'ave done good work. Technically, less zen perfect, but made vith 'eart."
Alice finishes cleaning. Pierre hands her a small basket and a cloth. "Presentation - zis is more important zan many realize. Vous vill 'and 'im zis basket vith ze bashful smile and ze shy twisting, and 'e vill be wrapped around ze fingertips. Zis, Pierre promises."
Alice wraps the tarts and tucks them into the basket. "Um... Thank you, Pierre, for all the help."
"Non! Zere is no need for ze thanks. To 'elp ze jeune amour flourish - zis iz Pierre's sacred duty. Now, off vith vous!"
Alice nods and strolls confidently out of the room. Pierre goes back to re-clean the bowls and utensils she used.

Alvis nodded as he eyed Nobunaga's trays suspiciously. "Thank you." As June turned to walk away, Alvis gave a polite "enjoy your meal" to Nobunaga before following her. "We likely have much to discuss about this operation", Alvis told her. "We'd best speak of them now. Where would you like to begin?"

June's tone shifts to a businesslike coldness. "I know dragons are powerful, but I doubt one could defeat entire legion of elite troops led by one of the most famed generals in all of Oz. Are you that concerned about casualties? Or should we expect further resistance?"

"We've only the testimonies of Mason and Nobunaga to gauge the full extent of the dragon's power -- which I would think twice about taking at face value, the former especially -- although its human form must be quite formitable to stand against Alexus in a duel. As for additional resistance, Alexus's duel was interrupted by a third-party attack against him from a sorceress using light magic. This showed us that there may indeed be other Ephesian foes aside from the dragon ready to ambush us, and we do not know how many, so we must brace for anything.
In addition, there is always the possibility of The Witch launching an attack, and an unaffiliated rebel faction that had been stationed near Yggdrasil had mysteriously vanished after the dragon appeared. Either of them attacking would likely result in an escalation into a three-way clash."

June smiles grimly. "Is that all we have to worry about? Ha... Tell me about the plan. Are we folding into the legion? Or are we acting as a separate unit to provide backup?"
|
|

"You are to remain as a separate unit," Alvis explained. "You will be supporting the Legion, but Alexus will hold no official authority over you. All actions you take will be of your own discretion."

"Based on the battle this morning, I would hardly call us a 'unit,'" June mutters to herself. She turns back to Alivs. "I trust you'll be handling basic supplies. What about the weather? Terrain? What can you tell me about the structure of the tree itself? Will the roots pose an obstacle? Do-" June trails off. "Will the tree itself join in trying to kill us as well? Are the leaves so large we need to worry about being crushed if they fall, perhaps?" she asks with a dark humor.

"Not everything native to this world wishes to end humanity," Alvis said. "...The tree is surrounded by forest, which opens up at the tree's base into a plain, flat, save for the few roots visible above ground at the sides of the tree -- a fair way from the entrance. The entrance is a hole, like one you would see as a cave entrance. It is unobstructed by roots or forest, so natural terrain is not an enemy in terms of entering the tree.
As for the weather, the forecast suggests clear skies with a 15% chance of rainfall. High of 30 degrees Celsius, if that means anything to you."

"It doesn't," June says flatly. "But if it were a problem, you'd probably explain. What happens after we take the tree?"
|

"We revive Cia, return the Outlanders who do not wish to remain here back to their worlds, and see if it additional Outlander reinforcements are possible," Alvis said. "Additionally, we would take measures to reinforce our defense of the tree, and send another request for peaceful negotiations with Ephesus before we turn our full attention to other threats. If they turn us down once more, it is likely that we will be forced to take more aggressive measures."
|
|
|

June's interrogation continues. "I see... Could you tell me more about this Cia person? And how, exactly, the revival works? Will we be performing it, or will we have to wait for some powerful mage to arrive?"
