"Cia's in a condition caused by extreme deficiency of mana, meaning her body and mind can't function normally. There's a spring of pure water beneath Yggdrasil's branches that could heal that... That's about the extent of my knowledge on the spring, unfortunately. For all I know, merely filling a flask with the water could be enough. The intention is to have enough time with Yggdrasil to find out. Perhaps even research it for a scientific breakthrough, should good fortune be with us."

June nods. "OK. I've only one more question. What's your opinion of Queen Glinda?"

"I'm not sure what that has to do with this mission," Alvis said, "but I wouldn't be here if I didn't trust her."

"I could say the same," June says. Her expression softens. "Thank you for humoring me for so long, milord. If you'll excuse me, I'll inform the others. Unless you'd rather do so yourself?"

"If you are the one leading them, then it is best that you do it," Alvis replied. "May the preparations go smoothly."

June nods at Alvis as they step into the dining hall. It looks like the majority of Outlanders are already here. June pulls the door closed behind them, just in case, and addresses the group. "Excuse me, everyone. I have an important announcement. We've received a request to aid the Yuelian army tomorrow. We'll be assisting their offensive against the giant tree, Yggdrasil. I'll explain the details at breakfast, and we'll depart shortly after. Naturally, those of you who don't wish to participate are free to remain behind. If we succeed in this battle, those of you who wish to return to your worlds should be able to return home shortly. Please make any preparations you need tonight and rest well. If anyone has any questions, Alvis and I will answer them now."

June waits a few moments, but no one seems to have any questions. She nods. "Very well, then. If anyone has any concerns later, I'm sure you'll be able to find Lord Alvis, or Lord Nobunaga, or myself. Pleasant dreams, everyone." June turns on her heel and leaves the cafeteria.
June returns to her room and spends some time reading while she eats her light dinner. A bit over an hour later, she decides she's waited long enough. She has people she needs to talk to, and they're probably settled in by now. After Alice collects her tarts, she goes off in search of Franklin. Normally she has no trouble bumping into him - he usually bumps into her, rather - but today he's being annoyingly hard to find. Even the other guards aren't being particularly helpful. It takes her nearly an hour to figure out where he's patrolling. On the way over, Alice... stumbles? She suddenly feels unnaturally tired, as if she's just been through some horrible ordeal. The feeling passes as quick as it came, and she continues on her way.
She finds Franklin by the garden, looking out through the open door. As Alice gets closer, she can hear someone laughing uproariously outside. Franklin pulls the door shut and turns around, jumping back with a start as he notices Alice standing there. "Cute," Alice thinks to herself. Maybe that's why Geraldine always does it?
"What's... going on out there?" Alice asks.
"Oh. Some of the Outlanders are... training. I think." Franklin scratches his head. "How're you doing, Miss P-"
Alice her hands on her hips. "No. None of that 'Miss Perdis' stuff. Go back to the cutesy pet names and flirting."
"But you said-"
"I was wrong. I mean, I miss the... I mean, you're... I need to... That's... Um..." Alice's confidence starts to shake. "Here!" she blurts out, forcing the basket into his hands.
Franklin takes it with a questioning look. He flips open the napkin. "You... got me a basket?"
"What? No, the things in the basket!"
"There's nothing in here?" Franklin asks. "Well, except this napkin."
"Wha-? But... No, I baked some tarts for you! I saw them go in here, I had it the whole time... How did...?"
Franklin tilts his head and gives her a confused look. "I... appreciate the thought, Alice, but you really didn't need to-"
"Yes I did! I wanted to thank you for... um... stopping me blowing myself up earlier. And to tell you that I... well... I mean... If you don't want to stop..."
"What are you trying to say?" Franklin asks.
Alice takes a deep breath. Opens her mouth, freezes. Clears her throat. "U-um... Ah!" She continues with a newfound confidence. "I want to concede the contest earlier on the grounds that we never confirmed my victory. The arrow struck the pillow, but as both blew up shortly after, we never got to clearly see it was a hit. And as far as I can tell, it was a miss. Therefore, you're free to continue flirting with me. And..." She presses her finger into Franklin's chest. "I have to let you take me on a date, I believe?"
A smile of understanding slowly creeps across Franklin's face. "Really? That's... awfully big of you. So, I guess this means you're actually interested in me?"
"I'm... interested, yes. Enough to give you a chance, anyway. Um... I have the day after tomorrow off, and your shift ends just after dinner, right? So, I was thinking... I could make some sandwiches, get a blanket, and we could do a late-dinner picnic in the garden?"
"That... That sounds great!" Franklin says.
"That sounds great...?" Alice asks expectantly.
"That sounds great, and I can't wait to spend an evening under the stars with such a beautiful, caring young woman."
"That's better," Alice grins. "I, um... should probably take Pierre's basket back. Sorry about the tarts. I'll... I'll make it up to you on our date. Promise. Look forward to it."
"Oh, you're all the sweet I need," Franklin says as he hands the basket back.
Alice rolls her eyes as she takes the basket. She takes a step back, then stops. She fixes her hair shyly, then throws herself at Franklin. She wraps an arm around his neck, standing on her toes to reach up and peck his cheek. "Um... Uh... G-goodnight... Cu... Cutie..." Franklin grins dopeily as Alice retreats down the hallway. He swaggers off back to his patrol.

(Another really long one    -Crow) "Good the sooner the morning comes the better," Bowser grumbled.
"Oakie Doakie," Mario said
"You mean me and June get to hang out some more tomorrow," Catie and Sophie said in perfect unison while Baron and Ann just sighed.
"Well thats neat been waiting to go all out," Alyssa said.
After dinner, Sophie, Ann, Baron and Catie, Bowser and Mario, and Alyssa went off in separate directions. June asks a guard which room Sophie and Ann ended up in. After getting directions, she tells the guard to take a message to Catie to stop by her room in a few minutes. Catie was told by the guard that June would meet up with her but for now she had some business to attend to.
"Catie please don't pounce on her and try to remember personal space," Baron told Catie.
"But but but she didn't seem to mind, she said we could," Catie protested.
"Why not have a friendly spar with her, umm leave the sniper and bow with me and show her your skills with a raiper," Baron told her. "Maybe after how skilled you are with a rapier and whip you can hug afterwords," Baron said. "Who knows maybe she knows other people you can be friends with," Baron said.
"Okay but only so I can meet more of June's friend in the end," Catie said to Baron. "Oh and hopefully her boyfriend Horatio and her can stop fighting," Catie said very innocently. After dinner Sophie and Ann were wondering what to do next they haven't got permission to stay in the palace or anything so they were unsure what to do. "Lady Sophie and Anna is it," a guard adressed the two ladies. "I was given orders by the princess to show you to your room," the guard told Sophie and Ann who just shrugged there shoulders and followed the guard. The guard showed Ann and Sophie to one of the guest rooms they could use to turn in for the night. Sophie and Ann thanked the guard before laying on the beds.
"So you really sure we need two separate beds," Ann told Sophie very mischievously. "I mean we are a married couple after all," Ann reminded Sophie.
"La sigh you never change it's why I love you so much," Sophie said as she placed her arms around Ann. The two of them began to kiss and started taking off their weapons and other stuff they were carrying.
"Good now that we got rid of the baggage what do you say we-" Ann was cut off by a knock on the door.
"Umm it's okay to come in the doors unlocked," Sophie called out.
June opens the door and steps in. "Good evening, Ann, Sophie. I hope I'm not disturbing you, but I need to ask you about the things you said earlier. At the fountain. I need you to explain... everything you said. Slowly. Pretend I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about."
"Okay well nothing like starting from the beginning," Sophie said. "Well Ann here has an older sister Anna but she's different from other Annas," Sophie said.
"Her sister is the goddess of fate and fortune," Sophie said. "Now we personally don't know Lane but she was the driving force on why Anna set out to make things right," Sophie said to June.
"Yeah she told us about the day that her and our other sister Fake Anna lead her to a forest to practice her powers," Ann added. "My sister Anna was young at the time and she was trying her best to help Lane and you guys that faithful day," Ann said. "Yet Fake Anna had other plans and she wanted to use this opportunity to test the powers she stole from our sister," Ann said. "Unfortunately, fake Anna stole enough of her powers to influence the events that happened," Ann added. "I know this is a lot to take in considering everything," Ann said.
"As far as how we know Vine, we had actually met him in the woods," Sophie said to June. "After we saved Mario we went on a quest to gather objects that contained Anna's power, one of those was buried deep in the woods," Sophie said. "Apparently after what happened with Lane, Anna continued to keep an eye on your group, she had an interest of what happened to you guys," Sophie said. "Anyways back on point we happened to find the object we were looking for only to be stopped by a Bear Laguz," Sophie said.
"Yeah upon first seeing Sophie he called her June thinking it was you Ms. June," Ann said. "We explained that we weren't June and that we are on a quest to gather certain objects," Ann added. "He sighed and said we should just leave this object alone," Ann said. "He didn't want to fight us and preferred to be just left in peace," Ann said. "Unfortunately, we couldn't just leave because we need that object because it contained a piece of Anna's power," Ann added.
"It was tough having to face a fellow Laguz especially one who had no interest in fighting but one that had to test our power and resolve," Sophie said. "It was a tough battle but afterwards he almost seemed happy and at peace," Sophie said. "Unfortunately, it was just the memory of Vine so without a body he began to fade away," Sophie told June. "He looked at me and while calling me June he made me promise to watch over his wife Fumiko and his daughter Mary," Sophie said. "I told him I would so he could rest in peace," Sophie said. "Finally, he turned to our best friend May and kept calling her Mary," Sophie said. "He wanted to see his daughter one last time and he couldn't be prouder of her before he faded away," Sophie said.
"Again June sorry for bringing all this up but when we first saw and heard you were here we couldn't wait to talk with you," Ann said.
"We know this may be very hard to believe and everything but please don't be mad at us June we never meant any harm or anything," Sophie said very apologetically.
"I don't... I don't blame anyone but myself for their deaths. It was my decisions. But Vine... Why was he... How... I don't... I still don't understand," June says. Tears start to well up in her eyes. "I just don't understand!"
Sophie goes to hug June. "I am sorry for bringing this up June we never meant to bring up such painful memories," Sophie said.
June hugs her back. "Um... Thank you..."
"Hmm now that I think about it my sister, Anna is here in Oz, I knew that Fletching looked familiar," Ann said. "She's currently in card form and she is being carried by Mario," Ann said.
"Apparently, Vine mentioned that the goddess had something to do with him appearing," Sophie said. "I do remember how he said he was asleep but then Anna had to disturb him," Sophie said. "Something about how Anna couldn't leave him alone," Sophie said. "Anna wanted to make sure that nobody would ever misuse her powers so certain spirits she called upon to Guard the objects," Sophie said. "I wish I could tell you why she chose Vine of all people, but maybe once we can figure out how to call upon those trapped inside cards we can ask her," Sophie said to June.
"I know I have no right to ask about Mary or Fumiko," Sophie said to June. "You don't have to answer either and I understand," Sophie said to June. "Yet are they okay?" Sophie asked June in a very somber tone.
"Yes, they're doing well," June answers. "Mary took over his job and married a nice young priest. I heard she just gave birth to a daughter... I was planning to make a trip to visit her soon. Fumiko... remarried, actually. She had a son a few years ago, and last I heard she's pregnant again."
"I wish we could have met under better circumstances," Ann said. "I mean we come from the country of Yuelia and lord Chrom has been in charge for about 10 years after Grima has fallen," Ann said.
"You... You come from Yuelia...?" June asks. "But Yuelia was destroyed centuries ago..."
"Come to think of it where are you from? Valm? I know May said she was from there," Sophie asked.
"Do you come from Plegia, that'sounds currently being ran from King Robin and his Queen Linda but it's really Chrom's daughter from the future Lucina just under a different name," Ann said.
"Yeah we never even asked about where you come from," Sophie said.
"I was born in Valeria, one of three small countries that share an island between Valm and Regna Ferox," June explains. "Though now I live in Carcina, another of the three."
"Destroyed centuries ago?" Sophie said as she looked stun. "By who or what?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah we never heard of Valeria before is that a new nation or city?" Ann asked
"Regna Ferox's army destroyed Ylisse, though it was decades after King Chrom's rule... Valeria was founded by the survivors of Ylisse," June explains. "But you come from... under Chrom's reign? That would mean..."
"You're from the future," Sophie said in near disbelief. "Wait a moment we have two kids back at home," Sophie said to June. "A son we adopted and a daughter that we Umm had a little bit of help from a friend," Sophie said kind of sheepishly.
"Wait a moment does that mean?" Ann asked.
"We might be," Sophie said.
"Sisters," Ann said to June. "Great, great, great relatives," Sophie said to June.
"Then again your sister is a goddess so it wouldn't be out of the question for her to have some hand in all of this," Sophie said.
"June is there anything you like to ask us or anything that you would like to know," Ann asked.
June laughs. "I doubt we're related. My hair's not red enough, and I think I'd have heard if we'd ever had a laguz in the family. Besides, it's been family tradition - for generations - to use names related to trees, flowers, the spring months... though I guess those have all been used now. But enough about me. You have children? I'd love to hear a bit about them."
"Our daughter was well we had to ask a friend for help with that," Sophie said kind of sheepishly. "We decided that I would ummm well Miss June this is kinda of embarrassing, sorry about bringing this up, but well umm we agreed I be the person to carry the baby," Sophie said. "The dad is someone we are close with and well....," Sophie began to turn beat red.
"La sigh really Sophie, she's an adult and I am sure she knows how it goes," Ann sighed. "Anyways our daughter is only a few months old, and when our friends from both our home world and Mario's world heard we were having a girl, they were very excited," Ann said. "She has her mom's beautiful white wing and one black wing which we thought was odd," Ann said. "Anyways she's a very happy baby, and is always just smiling," Ann said. "Oh she also has beautiful red hair, and that beautiful pale skin," Ann said.
"Umm sorry if this incredibly awkward," Sophie said. "Umm what about you Mrs. June do you have any kids?" Sophie asked.
"Two," June answers, trying not to laugh. "So, yes, I know how it goes. What about your son?"
"Well our son is about 1 years old and well we found him one day," Sophie said. "More like he was just left in a basket wrapped up in some blankets and a note," Sophie went on. "We looked high and low for any sort of parents even had Ann ask her connections for help," Sophie said. "We couldn't just leave the little guy with his cute little brown hair and slightly tan skin," Sophie said. "So we adopted him," Sophie said.
"There was one thing that was weird though and that was a Mark he had on his back," Ann said. "It was kinda of ominous in a way, so we asked some of our friends about it," Ann said. "Oh we are actually kinda of good terms with both Lord Chrom, King Robin, and Queen Lucina," Ann said. "The five of us we actually ended up traveling together when we got to our home world because of a great evil that threatened the land," Ann said.
"Yeah turns out this person was way more evil then Grima," Sophie added. "Like he had people from two different worlds having to team up to stop them," Sophie added.
"Whoops off topic again sorry bout that," Ann said. "Where were we.... Oh yeah we asked Lord Chrom if he seen this mark before," Ann said. "Turns out king Robin had the same type of mark and it had something to do with Grima," Ann added.
"We were both surprised to hear that and we asked Lord Chrom what we should do," Sophie said. "He said to keep an eye on him but other then that if anything happens come to him or King Robin immediately," Sophie said. "Other then that just show him love and support and congrats in having a son," Sophie said.
"How about you Ms. June what are your kids like?" Ann asked.
"Little Rand's only 3 months old, and such a little sweetheart. Absolutely adorable, and so well-behaved. Not like his sister at that age. She was... Lily's still a handful. Barely two, but an absolute nightmare. We can't leave her alone for more than a minute." June looks off wistfully. "Ah, sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you this long. Thank you for speaking with me. I feel a bit better, but I need to go. I promised Catie... I would... play... with her..." She half-groans and half-sighs.
"Well Ms. June it was nice to be able to get a chance to talk with you," Sophie said. "Again we are really sorry about how everything was so awkward at first," Sophie said. "Well can't wait until tommorrow," Sophie said.
Ann and Sophie watched June as left the room and wanted to make sure nobody else was coming. When the coast was clear, Sophie and Ann locked the door and were embracing one another. "Well now where were we?" Ann asked sarcastically.
"I think I know where we were," Sophie said as Ann and her began to kiss one another. "Where is she man she promised to hang out?" Catie moaned. "I wonder if she forgot, well whatever she told me to meet her here," Catie ssaid as she curled up in front of June's door.
Catie then picked up on a familiar scent and she began to wag her tail very umm excitedly. "She's getting closer, I can't wait till, oh I kinda of promised Baron I wouldn't hug her to death especially if she's in charge tommorrow," Catie said. Catie could kinda of see June off in the distance Catie's ears perked up, and her tail began wagging back and fourth very rapidly.
June returns to her room in a solemn mood. She sees Catie already waiting excitedly at her door. June takes a deep breath as she approaches her. "Catie, thanks for coming. I, um, remember I promised to... to spend some time with you," she says with a hint of nervousness. "I said we could do whatever you wanted. So, do you want to... I mean... OK, I know I promised I'd let you... y'know... But maybe you'd rather chat or spar or... hug...?"
"Well my husband, Baron came up with a great idea," Catie said. "Do you need to get ready or anything?" Catie asked June. "When you are ready I was wondering if we could have a friendly spar outside it is awfully beautiful out tonight?" Catie said to June. "I promise not to behave," Catie said as she bowed in front of June.
"So umm when your ready we can go when you are ready," Catie said as she used her ultimate move on June and that's the supper anime, puppy dog eyes.
"Sparring! Yes, sparring! Sparring would be wonderful! I love sparring, let's spar!" June says excitedly, beaming with earnest relief. "Let me just..." She pokes her head through the door. Her armored dress is nowhere to be seen. There's a normal dress lying on her table, with a note.
Cleaning your armor has taken longer than expected. Please accept our humble apologies. In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful nightgown.
June frowns. No armor besides her gloves... She closes the door and turns to Catie. "We'll have to be careful, OK?"
"Its fine when Baron was training me on how to use this rapier as long as I keep this little ball on it should be fine," Catie said. "Oh and I only have this normal whip I use for training," Catie said as she pointed towards her leather whip. "Maybe we ask that short guy with the funny voice to make you a raccoon again," Catie said.
"What about you miss June what can you use with that ummm class your in?" Catie asked unsure what June met by class.
"Well, I didn't dislike that raccoon thing. Perhaps it would have its uses on the battlefield. But you don't need to worry about me, Catie. As long as you aren't going all-out it should be fine. But..." June looks at her weapons. "All I can use are axes, staves - I don't have any, unfortunately - and bows. I'll just use the flat of the blade, if you're OK with that?"
"Yeah that's fine Ms. June," Catie said. "So there's a nice open field outside we can always go out to when your ready," Catie said to June.
"Right," June says, leading the way. The pair stroll through the hallways, still bustling with guards and workers even at this late hour. After a few wrong turns, June and Catie find the castle garden. They step out into the cool night air. A path of ornate tiles winds through a verdant carpet of grass. Several bushes bloom with vibrant, fragrant flowers. Tucked back in a shady corner, an azuberry bush bears a near-ripe crop. A lone guard patrols along the path. He gives the pair a small wave. "Hello Lady June, Miss Catie."
"Ah? Oh, hello, Private... Delgato?" June asks.
"Delano," he corrects her. "Out for a moonlit stroll?"
"We were hoping to get some sparring in," June says.
"In... the garden?" he asks. "We have a room for training."
"Er... We need to get used to fighting on the natural terrain of Oz. It's a bit different than my homeland," June bluffs.
Franklin nods thoughtfully. "I see, makes sense. Give me just a minute and I'll warn the other guards not to panic about the Outlanders fighting in the garden." He steps past June and heads into the castle, stops, takes a step back, and smiles at Catie. "Sorry, but I just can't resist." He reaches up and scratches her behind the ear. Catie's leg begins to twitch uncontrollably and she's content. "Haha... You're just too cute." Franklin heads into the castle.
June starts readying her weapons, then pauses. "Er... Catie? Before we go any further, there's something I need to ask you. Ask of you, I should say. If you want a hug, that's fine - so long as you warn me first. But no more tackling me, and definitely no more tickling me. Not in front of everyone else, at the very least. Can you promise me?"
"Okay Ms. June sorry about tackling you all those times," Catie said with an upset look on her face. "The first time I was really excited to see someone else who might be a wolf laguz," Catie said in a more somber tone. "I don't know how many are in your world, but where I come from in Austur," Catie said in a more serious tone. "I am the only one left, my tribe they were, the bandits that Baron saved me from had friends and they decided to take out," Catie said as a single tear began to form.
Unpleasant memories come rushing back into June's mind. "Catie... Come here, Catie..." She grabs her and pulls her into a tight hug. "It's OK, Catie, it's OK," she sniffs.
"June it's okay the thing was I blamed myself for the longest time," Catie said. "The fact that I ran away from home and the fact anyone knew about us was because of me," Catie said in a more somber tone. "I allowed myself to be tricked into being taken captive because I believed it was my just deserved punishment," Catie said.
"No one deserves that, Catie..."
"Yet in the end one good thing came out of it and that was Baron," Catie said in her usual upbeat manner. "That day when Baron saved me, was the happiest day of my life," Catie said. "Later on Sam would tell me that Baron was having woof time fitting in with society and that he was going through a woof time," Catie said. "So in a way we both saved each other that day, now we are married and we have two kids," Catie said in a more upbeat matter.
"Twins one boy and one girl, and they're part laguz, part human, and part vampire," Catie said. "By the way Ms. June are you married? Do you have kids?" Catie asked.
June lets Catie go and steps back, wiping the tears from her eyes and forcing a smile. "Um... Yeah... Married to a wonderful man. And we have son and a daughter. Both part-human and part-manakete. Though they can't transform..."
"How did you guys meet?" Catie asked.
"Well, it's... kind of a long story. He was... He was commanding some enemy forces. He surrendered to us. I was ordered to execute him. And... I couldn't do it." June grins. "So I decided to marry the big oaf, instead."
"Awww that's way too cute," Catie said. "So now then shall we began," Catie said as she bowed and ready her rapier in a defensive pose. "Just because we are best friends don't expect me to take it easy on you. Well you know what I mean," Catie said sheepishly.
"Best friend?" June asks with a giggle. "You're such a sweetheart, Catie."
"But not a pushover," she thinks to herself. June knows not to underestimate a laguz. And all the hugging and tackling's given June a first-hand demonstration of Catie's strength and speed. And she's wielding a rapier? June doesn't even know how to begin dealing with the whip. June's first instinct is to rush in close, but... this is training.
June pulls out Armads and slowly closes in on Catie, probing with a few gentle, controlled swats with the flat of the blade.
"Right time to take this serious," Catie said as her mood switched to a more serious stance.
"Hmm really taking the cautious approach," Catie thought "Well now she does know I can easily dodge those right," Catie thought. "But she said flat side so that's the soft side of the ax good to know," Catie said as she proceeded to jump on top of the blunt side of the ax and launch herself into the air.
While Catie was in her air, she uncurled her whip and began twirling really fast and making her way towards June. "Come now June even if this is only friendly I don't want you go easy on me," Catie called out
June steps to the side and swings Armads in a rising arc, right in the path of Catie's dive.
Catie using her momentum gently pushes against Armadas just enough to get out of its way.
"Not bad June it wouldn't be fun if it was easy," Catie said as she back flipped away from June.
"Now then let's see how fast you are with that Ax. Catie said as she began running towards June keeping an eye on June's ax and ready to react if need be.
"You'll need to do more than just defend and dodge if you want to beat me, Catie!" June calls out. She steps forward and sweeps Armads at leg level.
"Oh who said I was going to dodge and defend," Catie said with a smile.
Catie then quickly jumped backwards and grabbed her whip. "That ax may be strong but," Catie said as she sent her whip towards June hand. "Can't weild it if your not holding it," Catie said as she aimed for Junes wrist with the whip.
The bladed whip coils around June's arms, locking her wrists together. She silently thanks the gods she kept her gauntlets earlier. June drops Armads to the side, digs in her heels, and tugs against the restraints. "Mmph... Impressive trick, but what now?" the bound queen demands. "You haven't won just yet!"
"You're right. Thankfully I know your weakness," Catie said with a smile. Catie while keeping Junes wrists tied up rushes her for a hug.
"I knew this was coming..." June mutters.
"Now prepare to beg for mercy," Catie said as she readies her fingers and tail. "Tickle time," Catie said closing in on her prey.
"I said you haven't won yet!" June repeats with false bravado. She lowers her shoulder and charges right back at Catie.
"You fell for it," Catie said as she allowed her self to be tackled by June. "Now you can't escape," Catie said as she hugged June who was on top of her. "You should know by now how strong my hugs are, now prepare yourself."
"What? Oh, no, n-not the tail, not the t-"
Catie uses her tail which was free and proceeds to tickle June as hard as she can.
"Hee-ee-ee...! N-o-o-o not the tail...!" June screams. She squirms helplessly in Catie's vice-like grip, still struggling futilely to free her wrists. She finds herself powerless to do anything but howl with laughter.
The garden door flies open. Franklin steps in and sees the pair entangled on the lawn. He stares for a second, then quietly steps back in and pulls the door shut.
June feels herself blushing again. "O-Okay, Catie, oka-eeeHAhaha! I su- I surrend... You win, you win! Pl-plea... Pleeeeehahaha...! Please, I already... promised... you could... Nononeeeeheehee!"
Catie calls off her tail and releases June from her grip. Catie then unties June's wrist and helps her to her feet.
"That was fun June," Catie said. "So that person you were fighting with earlier who is he?" Catie asked. "Did he do something mean to you?" Catie asked.
"If you want I can take care of him for you if you want," Catie says cracking her knuckles.
"He's... He's an old enemy of mine. He did some horrible things, but this isn't the time to fight him. Just be careful around him, Catie. He's dangerous." June shakes her head. "But what about you? Feel better now?"
"Much better," Catie said with much pep in her voice.
"June thank you so much for being so nice," Catie said. "I know I can be a bit to friendly at times," Catie said as she bowed in front of June. "Umm wanna walk and talk some more or we can just sit here and gaze at the stars," Catie asked June.
June looks up at the sky and notices how different it looks from her homeland. "We could watch the stars for a bit," June says. She starts to sit down and stops herself. "Um... N-no more tickling, though, right?"
"For now" Catie said as she grinned.
June groans quietly to herself. She lowers herself to the ground, stretches her legs out, and leans back on her hands.
"Hey June you use a bow right maybe next time we can have a contest that will be fun," Catie said as she let out a content yawn. Catie then went ahead and laid down. She rested her head in June's lap and just gazed at the stars.
June looks down at Catie, then quickly looks back up at the sky.
"I can't wait until tomorrow we could have even more fun," Catie said. "Is there anything you need to ask?" Catie asked June.
"You're really fast, Catie. A rapier's a great weapon for quick attacks, but you're so strong, too. Have you ever considered trying a broadsword or claymore? Or maybe even an axe?"
"Hmmm Ax or Broadsword, never thought of that," Catie said. "Maybe you can teach me how to wield one sometime when we have a chance," Catie said to June rather excited. "But they Bow I use was given to me by a very good friend named Silver. Silver is like me where she can either take a former of a dragon or human with dragon-like features. She also happens to be the older adopted daughter of this really nice man, named Vinny. Anyways I really like using that bow, and plus Baron gave me some special arrows to use."
"Special arrows..." June mutters, remembering the explosion this morning. The thought of Catie with that...
"Good night June I had a really good time with you today," Catie said as she closed her eyes and fell sound asleep on June's lap.
"Catie? Catie...?" June looks down at the sleeping wolf. She hesitates, then reaches out and rubs behind her ear. June sighs. "Oh, Catie... You can talk to me anytime you're upset, OK? You don't always have to be the one cheering everyone up."
"Well looks like Baron had no reason to worry," Sam said making her way to June. "Sorry if I scared you but after Catie left Baron was worried so he asked if I could keep an eye on her," Sam said to June. "Looks like there was no trouble at all," Sam said very relieved. "If you want June I can go get Baron if you want to head off to sleep now," Sam said to June.
"No, I'll take her. Just warn Baron I'm bringing her." June carefully stretches out to grab Armads without waking Catie, then slings it over her back. She scoops Catie up, trying not to wake her.
"Fair enough," Sam said as he followed June.
June carries her back to her room, softly knocks on the door, and quietly hands Baron his sleeping wife. She gives him a silent wave and heads back to her room. She picks up the nightgown and realizes it's... more risque than she expected. Well, not like she's going anywhere... June changes clothes, stretches for a bit, then drops into bed, exhausted.

What was the Doctor up to now?
Whatever it was, it wasn't eating.
And so Jirachi knew what it must do.
Celeste dropped a spell book as his arms were shackled by psychic restraints.
"Is it dinner time already?" the scientist mumbled, none too amused. Historically, resisting Jirachi's care-taking is a long and ultimately useless endeavour.
Jirachi smiled, nodded, then hit the Muffin button. Four tarts appeared instead.
"Huh," Celeste said, somewhat disappointed, "that would have never happened back ho-"
A tart was shoved into his face while he was distracted.

"Umm sure mom can we go someplace private where the two of us can talk," Lana said to Glinda. The only thing that could run through her mind was the conversation she had earlier today.
(Place holder text for Lana, Aylssa, Baron conversation)
"Sure, sweetie," Glinda replied. She turned to her guards. "Hold any requests to see me. I will only take a few minutes."
Glinda raised her staff and opened a portal to her room. She allowed her daughter to enter first before following and closing the portal so that they were along. "What do you wish to speak about?"
"Hey mom I wanted to ask is there anything I can do to help," Lana asked her mom
"Hmm... Nothing in particular comes to mind," Glinda replied. "You've already done well in bringing any Outlanders you meet here."
Lana takes a few deep breaths because her head and mouth wants to try and say everything at once. Lana tries her best to quite the many thoughts running around in her head with only some success. When Lana finally, gets to a point where she can make coherent words she begins to talk to her mom.
"Yes I know I did good with the Outlanders," Lana said. "Yet, mom the thing is I see all the hard work you guys do," Lana said. "Not just you, the staff, the guards but even some of the Outlanders," Lana said. "Even Outlanders like Bowser, Baron, and Lord Nobunaga have risked there lives to help keep our kingdom safe," Lana added.
"I met him in town today and he was with his kids Aris and Leo," Lana said. "He made me promise not to tell anyone about them except you and Josh," Lana said. "I only knew about them because of the evening you and them entered my room," Lana said.
"Sorry if that was random I just got so many things I want to say," Lana said. "I seen how much you struggle keeping yourself afloat running the kingdom, how what happened to Cia, and even strangers from a strange land risking their lives to help us," Lana said. "I want to help you guys out, I am tired of always having to stay hidden while people I love and care about are constantly in danger," Lana said. "I was hoping we could talk about ways I can help out with I don't know anything," Lana said.
"I understand as a princess I have certain responsibilities and there's a lot riding on my shoulders," Lana said as she was beginning to shake a bit. "I also know something like going to accompany the Outlanders at this time to go and revive Cia is out of the question because of the threat from the dragon," Lana said as a single tear was trying to escape. "Yet, I want to do something to help not just you but everyone mom," Lana said. "I just can't stand in the background while everyone risks life and limb," Lana said.
"I was hoping me and you can think of something and work something out," Lana asked.
Lana mentally braced herself for her mom's response.
"I... was not aware you felt this way," said Glinda. "...I can try to make sure that you're the first to hear about anything you may help with, but going out of these walls, especially to go with the Outlanders, is out of the question. It is far too dangerous out there."
Lana again was unsure on how to respond to what her mom said. Her mom is right leaving is too dangerous with the abominations about and the recent actions by the other kingdom. Yet, Lana was wondering how she ever going to learn about the world. How will she ever get an idea about what the people of her nation want or what's the real promblems facing Oz if all she does is hide.
Lana begins to think for a few moments before she is ready to respond.
"Mom you are very correct, leaving is very dangerous," Lana said. "Yet Mom if I am to ever get a proper understanding of Oz that day will eventually come," Lana sid very calm. "If I am to ever get a proper understanding of our people, and our kingdom, I have to leave sometime," Lana said very calm and clear. "Plus if I am ever to get a proper understanding of Oz then there is no better way then to get out there and see it for myself," Lana said to her mom.
"Now I know leaving the kingdom in this time is tough and extremely dangerous," Lana said to Glinda. "Yet, I remember a story you and Cia told me of a noble younger then me, who would constantly take leave of the safety of the palace," Lana said. "This noble would constantly, leave Yuliea to explore, he had no fear despite the danger," Lana said. "In fact on one of his many adventures he met a young lady that would eventually, become his wife," Lana added. "This young noble was my dad," Lana said. "He was out there kicking but and taking names and he was younger then me," Lana said.
"Is it something you could at least think about instead of an instant no never going to happen," Lana asked. Lana waited for her mom's response with much anxiety.
"I... well... he had... there was..."
Glinda racked her mind in order to come up with some kind of counter-argument. Ultimately, she had to concede that her daughter had a point.
"...Very well. I... I promise I will take your words with careful consideration," said Glinda. "At the very least, you are not going with the Outlanders to face the dragon. Outlander or no, dragons are fierce opponents; a match for even our finest warriors. I know you're not helpless, but... You understand, don't you?"
"I understand mom," Lana said more upbeat in her voice. "Hmm okay but we do have our own dragon kinda, sorta, well he breaths flames at least," Lana said before deciding to shut up while she is ahaead. "Hey mom what was dad like at my age?" Lana asked her. "I mean all I have our stories from the maids and what you and Cia told me?" Lana asked. "Now just that it's the two of us maybe we can talk, well as long as your okay with it," Lana said laying her head on Glinda's shoulder.
Glinda smiled softly as she laid a hand to her daughter's head. "He was not very different than he was by the time he took the throne, if you can believe that. He was just as noble, courageous, and wonderful as his later years. However, if there was one aspect of him he did change, it was that he used to be reckless. I did not see it personally, but he first laid hands on his weapon when the general who held it was wounded in an abomination attack; picking it up and charging into battle himself to assist in repelling the attack. I also hear that he practically begged to be sent out in more international duties, such as speaking with Dalish ambassadors, striking against abominations, or quarreling with the Ephesians. Perhaps that is something you inherited from him." Glinda chuckled nostalgically. "He was greatly respected by the soldiers for his actions. Of course, he mellowed out by the time he was crowned king as he realized there would be more on his shoulders -- more people depending on him -- when he did so; too much to risk continue his reckless endangerment."
"Wow that's really neat," Lana said. "Hey mom how did you and dad meet?" Lana asked her mom.
Glinda pursed her lips slightly. "My father wished to expand our caravan business into Ephesian territories. While we were traveling through Dalish territory -- hoping to enter Ephesus through the Northern fields -- we encountered your father, having been injured from an abomination ambush while on-route to a meeting with a Dalish ambassador. We took him in and I helped nurse him back to health. Before he could leave, however, the abominations returned and... despite your father fighting valiantly, I was the only one who remained -- the rest dead or missing. He saw that I had nowhere else to go, so he offered me a place to live in the palace. I accepted, of course."
I detest lying to you like this, Glinda thought, ...But it is safest if your true bloodline vanished into secrecy.
"Aww that was so cute," Lana said to Glinda. "Actually, how was dad when you told him you were pregnant?" Lana asked. "Was he excited?" Lana asked. "Did he secretly want a prince instead of a princess?" Lana fired off. "Oh what about you mom, were you scared?" Lana asked.
Glinda gave a small chuckle. "Well, you are quite inquisitive, today! How about this: before I prepare for bed, how about we sit down together with some drinks and discuss whatever you wish in detail? It has been a while since we have done so."
"Okay that sounds like a good idea," Lana said.
------
Later that night, at the balcony of Lana's room, while Glinda was getting the drinks, Lana reached into her pocket and pulled out the pouch she got earlier today from the market. "I hope mom likes this," Lana said while placing the pouch on her lap.
When Glinda returned with the drinks, the two of them sat side-by-side, with the starry night sky above them. Lana began with her first question. "So mom when you found out you were pregnant with me, how was everyone in the kingdom about it?" Lana asked. "I mean people like you, dad, some of the more higher ranking important people, Cia ?" Lana asked
Glinda took a slightly embarrassed drink of her tea before answering. "W-Well... your father and I were ecstatic knowing that there would be a new beacon of joy and light to enter our lives. When this was announced to the public later..."
Mother and daughter allowed the hour to slip away as they enjoyed this uncommon moment of casual conversation.
"I had fun talking with you mom," Lana eventually said as she stretched. "Kinda of getting sleepy, but I wanted to give you something before I leave," Lana said giving her mom a pouch she got earlier today. "One of those merchants with the red hair said that whatever is in this pouch has great relaxation powers," Lana said. "Yet don't open it til your ready otherwise....," Lana let a yawn. "Sorry about that mom we got a busy day tomorrow, I hope you like it" Lana said to her mom.
Glinda smiled as she took the pouch. "Why thank you, Lana. I may make use of it soon." She outstretched her arms and brought her daughter into a firm embrace. "I enjoyed this conversation immensely."
After Lana returned the hug, Glinda bid her good night and picked up the two empty cups as her weary daughter just collapses on her bed. Glinda made for the door, pausing briefly to smile nostalgically at a familiar doll sitting on the shelf. Glinda turned the knob, and as soon as she pushed outward, a wet nose poked through the opening and pushed the door open. Glinda suppressed a small gasp as a dog trotted inside, sniffed and licked her hand, and jumped onto the bed beside Lana to make himself comfortable.
Glinda gave an amused chuckle and stepped out of her daughter's room.

Shortly after visiting old Celeste, Joshua allowed himself to get escorted into the dining hall, where much of the other Outlanders had already finished their meals and left. With Bowser among the few still there, Joshua handed Junior over (taking the time to sing praises about how well behaved he was, simply because he could) and took a light meal for himself and his Pokemon before going to bed.
He currently lied there now, naturally restless. He looked over his deck of cards again, anxious as he was beginning to regret leaving the testing of the theory he got caught in his mind.
...If I had to choose one person to bring over here first... Can't say I know Riley well enough to be able to judge his reaction... I don't know who these three are, so I wouldn't know how they'd react... I can't bring Rosa here on good conscious, and Curtis would be disapproving without her... I'm not sure how Cobalion would act, and I don't think Keldeo would trust me enough...
Joshua's eyes ultimately lingered on Yancy's card, holding it up as the other cards were placed on the nightstand.
She would be the most willing to believe an explanation from me... I'm more likely to gauge her reaction and respond appropriately... Her first aid help will benefit everyone else as a whole... Maybe she might like being in something out of the stories she tends to read...
Joshua closed his free hand, knowing that he was wishing for something in particular to grasp.
...Or maybe I'm just trying to rationalize what I want to do...
Joshua sighed in frustration, gently put the cards on top of each other, and turned his back to them in order to get some form of sleep. More than once, he considered asking Grinn for a Hypnosis to let time pass by faster.

The following day...
Despite being in a mental state in which the closest thing to describe it would be "feeling dead", Joshua willed his body to move as to perform what may end up being his Oz morning routine of bathing and putting on his clothes (ironing out wrinkles to the best of his ability). From a glance out the window, it seemed to be earlier than what he or the other Pokemon were used to, so he tip-toed to the door and slipped out without waking anyone. He took his Cosmic Drive in case he needed to call them for any emergency, but he figured that he didn't have much reason to interrupt their sleep as of this particular moment.
Not knowing if breakfast was being served at this hour, but nonetheless not feeling very hungry anyway, Joshua skipped the dining hall (and maybe another snide remark from that chef for preferring a modest meal) and went straight to the science room. He leaned forward against the empty front desk.
"Hello?" he hollered. No response. No lights turned on past the door, either. He gave an annoyed grunt as he sat on one of the seats and waited for someone to come along.... Fortunately, it seems someone else left a... fashion magazine... for him to read.
----
...This makes the costumes from "Mystery Doors of the Magical Land" look normal in comparison.
The sound of the door to the hall finally opening caused Joshua to toss the magazine to the side and approach the man sipping his coffee.
"Hey, buddy."
The scientist gulped his drink. "Oh hey, you're here early."
"I have a new theory about how these cards work," Joshua said. "It involves this green, glowing, liquid thing. Ring any bells?"
The scientist took a slow, long sip of his coffee. It didn't seem like the caffeine has worked its magic on him yet. "You're probably talking about liquid ether... It's like the life force behind living things, but sometimes they get crystallized in like... caves and stuff... and become a source of renewable energy if refined... like gas in non-eco friendly cars... or coffee in overworked scientists. What about it?"
"I know a guy who might've been a card and found themselves into this world drenched in the stuff", Joshua said. "Maybe this 'ether energy' is the key behind it these summoning cards."
Another long sip of his coffee. "... We'll test it on the condition that we wait for everyone else to get here first. For the records and analysis and stuff."
"...Fine."
The man nodded as he swiped a keycard on the electronic lock to open the door.
Dammit, I can't believe I didn't realize this 'til now!
Following the directions given to him by soldiers and the other members of castle staff, Irving followed the trail of where a person matching June's appearance went and subsequently where her room was.
Hopefully, she ain't at breakfast yet.
Hoping it was June's room he was in front of, Irving banged on it thrice.
"June, are ya there?" he called. "I gotta tell ya somethin' important! It's about the fight later!"

June snaps awake at the sound of knocking, tossing the covers back and sitting up. She grogily rubs her face. She hadn't slept that badly in years. Gods, what a nightmare. She turns and sits on the edge of the bed, rubbing her feet together with a subconscious discomfort. Catie... Catie and dancing and... Red. So much red... And a tiny sundress...? I... What was... Nightmare? What was I thinking about? The door? Irving?
"It's not locked. Come in!" she calls out, still half-asleep. ~ Backstage~ "Was it really alright to send her back in that outfit? That lingerie was expensive..." the production assistant asks.
"What, and create a continuity error? No, we'll send someone to recover it after she's left the room," Anna explains. Rookies. "You just worry about getting things set for our next payche- guest."

Goin' to bed without locking the door? Usually, that gets you killed or robbed blind.
Irving turned the doorknob and walked in, kicking the door behind him shut.
"Morning, June," Irving said. "Last night, I realized that you didn't join us 'til that fight at the river, which meant you didn't see none of the demonstrations of power I and the other Outlanders had beforehand." Irving sat down on the side of the bed. He brought his ryfel to his lap, and held it so that the butt pointed closest at June. He pointed at a small opening at the top. "Ya see this? Well, I can put these little slots," he held up a palm holding the type 7, 5, 3, and 2 slots to June's sight, "into this opening, and this gives the bullets I shoot with this gun special powers. I wanna make this quick, so I'm just gonna tell you about this one." Irving held up the purple type-2 slot. "If I put this into my ryfel, and pull the trigger, I will shoot a-- uh... an orb, and if it hits a living thing, they will... what's the word? Dis-in-te-great? Dey will turn to ash and die almost instantly. Tried it with those ogre things at the fight at the river, but I heard they ain't made of living things or somethin'. Dunno. I only heard a little bit of it."
Irving noticed a nice potted plant at the corner of the room. He briefly considered a demonstration, but ultimately decided not to. He'd probably get attacked by guards who hear the gunshot anyway. "The problem is, it's kinda... slow movin' and it takes a while before I can use it again, which means I need a good shot to make it count. But, if manage to hit the dragon with it, maybe it'll work and win us the fight."
"You're the boss, so it's up to you, but I figured it's somethin' that you should know about."

"Turn to ash? That's..." June remembers Irving's treatment of the wounded soldiers and her mouth tightens. "I want to listen to me, Irving. First of all, I don't want you to use something like that without a lot of forethought. You better be sure they deserve to die. Secondly, and I don't think this is common knowledge yet, Alvis referred to the dragon as a 'shapeshifter.' Like Catie. I wonder... if he might be like the manakete in my world. If he is, then you may have trouble even hitting him with something 'slow-moving' - they're much more agile than you'd expect of something that size. And he's probably sentient. Proud, most likely, but not necessarily unreasonable. He may even be an Outlander himself. Before we resort to killing him, I... want to at least try negotiation."

Location: Lana's Room
"Yawn that was such a pleasent sleep," Lana said as she got out of bed and stretched. "My my when did you arrive," Lana said as she saw Chalrlie on her bed. "Must have sneaked in last night when I was sleeping," Lana told Charlie who just lifted his head and looked at her. "Well it can't be helped I guess," Lana said as she just shrugged her shoulders. "Well right there you naughty puppy I have to go and get freshened up," Lana said to Charlie as she headed to the rest room.
"Oh and no peaking naughty naughty puppy," Lana said to Charlie who just kinda of looked at her before placing his head back on the bed.
Location: Baron's Room
"Yawwwnnn, that was such a wonderful dream," Catie said as she stretched. "With me and June and everything, actually I just really want to," Catie said as she looked at Baron very mischievously.
"Umm honey, sweet heart what's with that look," Baron asked.
"I want you now," Catie told Baron. Baron was going to say something before Catie got even closer. "I said I want you NOW," Catie said to Baron before she began making out with him.
"Okkk but first," Baron said. The next thing that is seen is Sam being tosses out into the hallway as the door is slammed shut and locked. Sam looked confused as to what just happened but figured if he just left those two alone.

This is a war, right?
"...I'll follow your lead, but I have to warn you 'bout something." Irving leaned inward. "It's hard to explain, but I got this... problem.... durin' fights. If things start getting too bloody, I start gettin'... wild. Like I lose complete control. I stop thinking straight and just start tearing into my enemy. I'm gonna try not to get t' that point since you don't want to kill, but no promises."

"I see... I can't say I'm always completely in control myself," June admits. "I want you to avoid the worst of the fighting. Stay near the rear and provide support and cover. And Irving... I need to know. Is there any chance you're a risk to your allies?"

"...Prob'ly not," said Irving. "I usually keep myself together to attack the 'bad guys' and not the 'good guys'. Might end up saying stupid s***, though."

Marth wakes up after another night in the unfamiliar stable. June didn't visit yesterday. He's very upset about that. This place is unusual. She better have a damn good reason, or she's going to get one Hell of a nip. "Alright," June nods. She catches a glimpse of her own bare legs and her heart skips a beat. Is this acceptable attire in his world? Or is he just too polite to mention it? She grabs her pillow and subtly places it in her lap, resting her arms on it as if she had no ulterior motive. "So... As you mentioned, I missed everyone's demonstrations and introductions. I've been trying to get to know everyone a bit better, but it's slow-going since I'm also trying to learn about this world itself. We've spent quite a bit of time together, but I still feel like I don't know anything about you... Would you mind telling me a bit about yourself, Irving?"
