"Interesting!"
Kyurem pointed his maw upward, directing his Dragonbreath at the boulders that would strike him directly. After clearing away the boulders that would've hit him directly, Kyurem howled, and a storm of sharpened icicles shot out of the frozen ice and flew to Esdeath like spears.
John Doe overheard Leonard speaking to the soldier. "So what exactly is a Devil Arm? I get that it's some kind of weapon, but what's so special about it?"
"Weapons of dubious origin -- some would say cursed, even -- containing terrifying amounts of power," Alvis said. "They come in many forms, and in the right hands, just one of them can bring an entire army down to their knees. The sword you saw was a replica of our late king's weapon, Thanatos Edge. Let's just say that if that revenant had used the real thing, Leonard would have been cleaved in two. Not even the strongest metals in the world would survive a strike from that. Did you participate in Yggdrasil? The blade Alexus carries is another such example of a devil arm."
John Doe remained silent.
"So... where's the real sword?" Yancy asked.
"Officially, that's classified," Alvis answered.
"Unofficially, it's kinda obvious if you thought about it", Leonard commented. "I was able to figure it out seconds after seeing it, even if they did reforge the hilt."
"How many people have devil arms?" Yancy asked.
"More importantly, how much of them are Yuleian?" Doe added.
"All of Oz's countries -- Yuleia, Ephesus, Nightingdale, and Zelphos -- are confirmed to possess at least one such weapon, and that's discounting unconfirmed reports. The exact number of them Yuleia carries is... classified."
At long last, they re-entered the light of the outdoors. Yancy took a deep breath, vowing never to take fresh air for granted again.
Leonard gave a suspicious eye to a pair of medics approaching them with a stretcher in tow. "...Hold it, soldiers. I thought we called in to retrieve the deceased."
"Oh, that stretcher is for you, sir," Alvis replied.
Before Leonard could turn around, Alvis's wind spirit materialized behind the Defense Force general with a burst of wind and delivered a chop to the back of his head. Leonard's eyes rolled backward as he tumbled face-down onto the stretcher already prepared for the fall. The medics lifted him (with difficulty) and carted him away.
"Mission accomplished," Alvis said to the Outlanders. "I'll be sure to give a good word to the queen for you."

Weedle Land
"Welcome strangers I couldn't help but here you might be in the market for something," A familiar Red Headed merchant called out.
Mario and the others began looking around for the source of the voice.
"Yohoo guys I am right over here," the Red headed merchant said waving them over.
Mario, Starlow, and Rosalina saw a familiar figure waving towards them. "Oh what's Ann doing here I thought she was with Peach?" Starlow asked.
"(Yeah she was suppose to be watching over Peach, I thought)," Mario added.
"Did you guys already forget that there are a ton of Annas where we come from,". "Ever since the incident back home, Annas have been a common appearance in the Mushroom Kingdoom,". "Just as Toad and Toadetta shops have been common in Sophie and Ann's world," Rosalina reminded Starlow and Mario.
"Yeah your right about that I didn't expect to see an Anna in Oz though,". "Just how many Annas are there and how do they keep showing up?" Starlow asked.
"Are you guys going to come over or not?" Anna asked a little more impatiently.
"Off we go," Mario said rushing towards the stand.
"So travelers right?". "I couldn't help but over here that your not from around here,". "Oh and that your looking for something for a friend,". "Well take a look at what I have," Anna said as she proceeded to show off her wares. (Basically she pulls off the move that the Shopkeeper from RE4 does.)
Mario and the others look through what Anna has. They really don't see anything of note that Ann doesn't already have. They do see one thing though that seems to catch there eye. It appears to be a card of a boy with a picture of some animal like creatures in circles beneath them. The boy appear to be posing in the middle of some ruins of a stadium or something.
"Hey Mario does this card look familiar?" Starlow asked.
"Oh no," Mario replied.
"Hmm it almost looks like a card that Peach and the others were in before they came here,". "Yet why is it Red?" Starlow asked. Mario and Rosalina shrugged there shoulders unsure of the answer.
"Oh I see that your interested in this fancy card here," Anna said with much joy to her voice. "Yes its a card of some person don't know what it does but if it catches your attention,". "I am more then happy to sell it to you," Anna said.
Mario, Starlow, Rosalina, and Aylassa looked through their pockets to see if they could find any cash.
"We have coins do you accept that?" Starlow asked.
"Sorry I only accept Oz currency," Anna replied closing her jacket.
"Looks like they forgot to give us cash before we left the tree," Aylassa grumbled.
"Wait what tree might that be?" Anna asked.
"Not sure the name but its some important tree that contains, healing property,". "Begins with a Y....Yddrelia or something like that," Starlow said.
"Wait you came from the World Tree,". "That world tree," Anna asked.
"Umm yeah why does that matter?" Starlow replied.
"Of course it does, oh and that Peach person is there too, and another Anna,". "Oh no she doesn't,". "Well guys I will see you later," Anna told the Outlanders taking off towards the world tree.

Location: Inside Peach's Dream
"Wait how can you be me?" Peach asked.
"Tee hee, silly I am you well in a manner of speaking,". "I am the other side of you,". "I am your thoughts that the other's don't see,". "I am the side that resides inside of you," Lionheart Peach told Peach.
"Well it's true I have those thoughts,". "If only I was stronger,". "If only those Toads were good for anything,". "Even now I just get to this land and I am already in bed,". "It sucks I can't be there with Mario and the others,". "It's not even Bowser's fault for once,". "Can I not do anything right?" Peach lamented.
"Oh come on now, Dearie that's why I am here,". "With me around I can give you what you seek,". "All you have to do is just take my hands and your eye's shall be opened to a world of possibilities,". "All of your problems shall go away," Lionheart Peach told Peach.
"But how do I know this isn't some type of trick?". "Where I just end up becoming a slave to another?" Peach asked.
"Well that's simple my dear, sweet, innocent, Peach,". "The reason is because I am you and Thou are I,". "I am the manifestation of your thoughts brought to life because of that wonderful thing on your neck,". "All I need you to do is trust me and to accept me,". "You can trust yourself right dear," Lionheart Peach told Peach.
"Hmm you do have a point,". "With you I can finally be more than such a simple damsel in distress,". "Okay then I accept you as myself," Peach said taking Lionheart Peach's hand.
"You wouldn't regret this," Lionheart Peach said as shadow began to surround her.
"What's going on?" Peach asked confused.
"Your about to find out Princess, heh heh your about to get the power you so desperately crave,". "Hopefully you don't regret it," Lionheart Peach said as she vanished.
Peach began to become encircled by the shadow and it then began to flow into her.
Then the entire scene within Peach"s dream went black.
Location: Bed inside of Yiggy
Princess Peach who was fast asleep inside one of the beds opened her eyes.

POV: Flanna
"Oh really is that the best you can do?". "I expected more from the legendary farm warrior,". "Also I know your true identity and who you are,". "Now then oh yeah this is simple," Flanna said very unamused.
Just before the ax lands on Flanna's shoulder a gust of air pushes the ax just enough so that the ax harmlessly hits air.
"Come now Lady June you have to try harder if you want to land a hit,". "You have any long ranged weapons you can try my dear,". "You have to really try if you want a proper demonstration,". "If you really want to see what a goddess of outcomes and fate is capable of," Flanna tells June.
Entrance to Yiggy
"Phew I finally arrived," Anna said out of breath.
Anna then strolled in almost undisturbed by any of the present presence. A few of the Yuliean soldiers asked her to stop and asked her to show them her wares for inspection. When the wares were mostly considered harmless she was allowed to pass.
When Anna made her way to the main part of the tree, she saw all sorts of amazing Outlanders. Some looked like normal everyday people, while others were all sorts of weird creatures. A couple of Outlanders caughts Anna's eyes. One of them was an Anna currently in combat with a tan skinned lady in an armored dress. The Anna seemed like any other Anna but with a black streak in her hair. There was another Anna present that appeared to be trying to set up her own stand.
"Hey so have you already set up stand here?" Anna asked Ann.
"Not yet I thought I could but well there is so much prep that I couldn't account for,". "Plus when I do travel the shop will be left unattended and can't run a shop if I am not here," Ann tells Anna.
"Well if you don't mind I can always use the set up,". "I am just a lone Anna needing a place to sell my goods,". "Would you so kindly let me use this set up?" Anna asks.
"Well it would be nice to see this not go to waste,". "Okay then this is all yours,". "Take good care of these people okay, oh and if you see a cutie with wings she's off limits, that's my wife," Ann told Anna.
"Will do," Anna reassured Anna.
"Well see ya later, I have a patient to keep an eye on," Ann said making her way to Peach.
"Now then, that's done,". "Come one come all to Anna's shop of the Weird and Wonderfull,". "My prices aren't the only thing I know how to slash,". "Come quickly for a once in a life time deal,". "For a limited time I have an extremely rare card on sale,". "Have no clue what it does but it has a picture of some boy and animals in the middle of ruins,". "Yes who knows what this card is or what it does but well you wouldn't know if you don't buy," Anna said through an Anna approved Mega Horn.

Royal Tomb Exterior
Yancy found John Doe at the top of the wall, looking over the distant landscape.
"It's a nice view from here," Yancy commented, alerting him to her presence.
"I'm just used to Realgam's", Doe replied, looking at the distant traffic of caravans of people on the road to the palace. The road to the tomb was completely barren. "Maybe that's just homesickness talking."
Yancy took a spot next to him, leaning against the stone wall. "Maybe that will be me in a few days... Is your neck okay?"
"Never sorer, but I'll live," he said. "Rotom's a bit shaken up; we'll need to review our strategy when it comes to unfamiliar enemies like that. How about you and Ursaring?"
"Ursaring's fine. He can take a hit," Yancy answered. "I wasn't touched, of course, but... I think it's finally starting to sink in that we're in a completely different world, here. I mean... magic? The reanimated dead? Sure, we have certain kinds of Ghost Pokemon, but how many can you say are walking, shambling corpses, wounds and all?"
John Doe decided not to bring up Corva.
"Hey," Doe said, "I was... wondering if..."
Yancy tilted her head quizzically as he trailed off.
"Sorry, I meant how are you doing with the PP supply?"
"I have five Max Ethers and one Elixer in my bag," Yancy answered. "If I ration Wish a bit, I should be okay for a little longer."
"...And how much PP does Wish have after Day One?" he asked.
Yancy opened her mouth to reply, then looked horrified for a split second before forcing a smile. "Oh, uh, ah ha ha... well, if we consider the PP Max, and the... um... then we should have... um... two...ish?"
John Doe didn't even try to hide his resultant frown. "...We need reinforcements."
He dug his deck of cards out of his pocket. Yancy leaned in for a closer look.
"Honestly, the only two I would consider summoning first are Riley, and maybe Cobalion". Doe said. "I know nothing about these three, and summoning Rosa would leave a bad taste in my mouth. How's Keldeo been with you?"
"I haven't seen him ever since Sevii," Yancy said. "But he's still distrustful of humans, and if we summoned him without consent to fight for more humans, well... He wouldn't like that. I don't even know Cobalion well enough to know if he would be willing to fight, even if what the Pokedexes have said about his attitude towards humans are exaggerated."
"So... Riley then." Doe watched Yancy nod. "I'll try it the next time we're at the tree. With luck, he might have some more medicine in his pockets."
"I don't remember his pockets ever looking particularly deep," Yancy commented.
"I was giving this 'blind optimism' thing a chance," Doe quipped.
"Well then I guess I'm giving this 'realism' thing a chance," Yancy answered.
John Doe smiled lightly in amusement. Looking out, he saw a vehicle make a turn to enter the lonely road to the tomb. "I think our ride is coming. Let's head back down."
Knowing that any cash he had on hand wasn't even worth the paper it's printed on (and wondering what he should be doing with it instead), Irving couldn't do much but give quick window-shopping glances at the wares the various merchants were advertising. He learned a few things about this alien culture, such as eating this thing called "rice", calling noodles "ramen", what appeared like chicken scratch to him actually being symbols in another language, and that this thing called a "kimono" was some kind of fancy dress to these people.
Irving had paused to look over a stall of paper scrolls to ward off dark spirits (and the shady-looking vendor swearing on his siblings that they actually work), when he noticed his personal space being invaded. Slowly looking his head over to the side, he noticed a girl peering directly at his face, stroking her chin in contemplation and leaning in slightly too close. After seemingly examining his face, she weaved and slipped around him faster than he could keep up, peering and examining everything about his appearance, ducking, slipping, bouncing, and weaving all over the place.
"What're..."
Irving just stood there wondering what her big deal was. She was dressed in one of those furisode things -- yellow with a floral pattern -- and held her golden hair in a bun held with a stick behind her head, though the part of her hair in front of her face was light blue. Dyed, if Irving had to guess.
"What do you want?" Irving finally asked.
The girl tilted her head. Despite not uttering a word, Irving felt like he understood.
"You... think I look weird?" he said. "If anyone's being weird, it's yo--"
Irving blinked, and noticed that the girl was now holding a gun. Specifically, his gun. Irving was taken aback, and reached back to confirmed that the ryfel she was mulling over was, indeed, his. "Hey!" Irving grabbed the weapon and snatched it away. "What the hell're you doin'?!"
The weirdo woman jumped back in apparent fear, then stood back up straight and bowed at Irving respectfully.
"O-Okay okay, it's alright", stammered Irving, noticing the eyes of the rest of the party falling on them. In the back of his mind, he was starting to think he felt more embarrassed than he should be feeling right now. "'Pology accepted, just don't steal my crap like that."
"Having fun there, Tanaka?" the Outlanders' escort called out.
Caught red-handed, Tanaka made an exaggerated gasping motion before scratching her head and playfully sticking her tongue out in a "silly me" gesture.
"Don't mind her," said the escort. "Everyone, this is Arima Tanaka. Officially, an assistant to Masujiro. I apologize on her behalf if she ever seems rude; she's a mute." As if to reinforce the point, Tanaka pointed at her throat and shrugged. "Miss, does your presence here mean the dojo is ready?" Tanaka turned to face the escort. "...Really? There? I see. Very well."
Irving turned to the escort. "...How d'you understand her? Does she plant telepathic suggestions into people's heads to communicate with people like she's doing to me right now?"
The escort did not respond as he continued guiding the Outlanders to their destination. Tanaka skipped ahead of them.
...Huh.
-------
The Outlanders were escorted to a large garden behind what was supposedly their first destination. Those peculiar trees with pink petals were growing in abundance here, along with a number of other flowers and plantlife Irving had never seen in Austur before. A stream -- seemingly artificially dug-in -- ran throughout the garden. The space the Outlanders were led to was a large, flat plain of grass along the riverbank. In the middle of the space stood a swordsman in black armor covered in those foreign symbols. Two other swordsmen stood a ways behind him. Guards, it seemed like.
"Welcome, Outlanders!" declared the man in black, his arms outstretched in greeting. "Robiki is pleasured to have you here. My name is Naito Masujiro, leader of Robiko, and commander of it's military division under Yuleia's banner. If you don't mind, you may shower me with comments about our land, rich in character and culture."
Irving got the impression that this Masujiro guy had the ulterior motive of using their words for a tourism brochure. He glanced over at Tanaka upon thinking this, who simply winked.
"But uh, anyway, which one of you is the leader of your group?" he continued. "I was told that she wished to spar, and I would gladly accept the chance to experience the might of warriors from other worlds, firsthand!"

June shakes her head at Flanna. "No, I get the idea. Let's stop before someone gets hurt needlessly." Ignatius pushes his way past the guards and into the throne room. "Where's the queen? Your majesty! I have a report of what the blasted thief plundered from our library!" Rand nods at Alvis' treatment of Leonard. "Efficient. If you don't mind, I think I'm going to fly back to the castle. Can you send word I'm coming so no one attacks me?" Lily steps forward. "Mother suggested we practice combat together so we may learn to fight together more effectively. Unfortunately, she's preoccupied dealing with an... incident in that giant tree."

Is this trial a demonstration? Or a test of devotion?
In the face of oncoming icicle spears, arcane sigils swirled around Esdeath's ice hammer once again, and it began to jellify in he hands. She stretched the semi-frozen mass of water out to form an ice-putty barrier and threw it into the path of attack. As the spears penetrated through the mass, the barrier froze fast, trapping the projectiles in place.
The now solid ice barrier hit the ground just before Esdeath. Wasting no time, she paved an ice path out, sweeping up that spiked hunk of ice, and continuing towards Kyurem out in front of her. Taking a speed-skating stance, she bull rushed the barrier, sweeping it up like a battering ram in a headlong charge at the dragon. Her right arm engaged another one of the sigils around her, materializing an oversized ice sword for the follow-up attack.

"Idiot!"
Kyurem scoffed and focused on a particular point. The instant his target skated over it, two chains of ice lashed out from below and gripped both her ankles. A bed of stalagmites began growing where he expected her to fall face-first.
Alvis nods. "Very well. Watch for the demonjay birds. They may be small and cute, but they get territorial when things bigger than it fly in their high elevation. They particularly love annoying them to death by aiming for the face."
It was a jape, but Alvis gave no indication as such.
"And?" Glinda said.

Sliding forward, Esdeath's make-shift battering ram escaped her grasp as she felt a sharp tug of resistance from her ankles. Her attention shifting to her newfound restraints, they melted and were consumed by her ice shell on contact. The bed of stalagmites emerging before her encouraged her to stab her ice sword into the ground and halt her charge, changing tactics.
Hey, I can do that too.
She slammed her sword completely into the ground, which rippled as tendrils rushed through the ice towards Kyurem's feet. She followed with a smooth backwards spin-kick into another of her sigils, sweeping forward a continuing trail of ice forward into the air. She sunk her feet in and rushed in following the trail, freezing, melting, and re-freezing her enchanted ice and the water in the air to rocket along a conjured ice path towards her opponent.
