I'm thinking of joining but can some one explain how multi classing works in an example. The site linked above worded its multi class section in a way that was confusing for me. When you multiclass, you decide to take a level in a class other than the one you start with. Say you are a level 3 rogue that wants to be a wizard. If you take 2 levels as a wizard, then you become a level 5 character, but with the power of a level 3 rogue and a level 2 wizard. Your spells and your backstabbing ability are not as strong as a level 5 rogue or wizard, but you have more options available to you in and out of combat. There is a penalty though. If one of the classes you multiclass in is not your favored class, then you take a 20% penalty to XP when the class levels are more than 1 level apart. If you were to take a third class, already suffering from the penalty, you would take another 20% XP penalty.

I knew the hit dice for each class, but I just didn't know how the hit dice was used in hit point calculation until after I asked. Are you guys going for a base health for characters (in order to prevent squishy 1HP fighters) or just assume that the initial roll for calculating health at character creation is the max (if I create a Barbarian, he starts with twelve health not counting Constitution modifiers). You are correct. The barbarian's starting health is 12+/- modifiers.

Okay. I can't find a page on Ability allotment. Does the DM decide on a stat cap or something? There isn't a stat cap. You decide your ability scores during character creation using whatever method allowed by the DM. The player then increases the ability score by 1 on every 4th level.

Who is the chick in Hyrule Warriors with the spell book? Been a Zelda fan most of my life and I don't remember her in any of the games.
Also if I were to join probably go with the warrior set up. Don't know why but I always been partial to grabbing a sword, kicking buts and taking names?

I'm asking is that for determining the starting health of a character, would you assume they rolled the highest possible roll on their hit dice in order to prevent unlucky situations in which you start with a Melee character with a tiny bit of health.

This isn't really an RP as it is a TRPG. Much like how ToW (sign-ups tomorrow!) is a WRPG (Web Role Playing Game), Dungeons and Dragons (by Wizards of the Coast TM) is a TRPG (Tabletop Role Playing Game). This is all about numbers, much much moreso than ToW.

No, ToW refers to Final Fantasy: Tale of Worlds, you know, the one that I've been working on for a while.

We don't have a DM yet. Though if you want to be a fighter, I'm going to suggest that you be a warblade, crusader, or swordsage instead. It's a bit of reading, but it should be much more fun to play, as well as more useful in the long run. The fighter is probably easier to play, but if you want to do more... They are melee classes that are all better than fighter. The crusader is a tank, the war blade is a damage dealer, and the swordsage is a scout/skill user. They can all be very effective at those roles and scale much better than the fighter, which starts to slow down while other classes begin to increase dramatically. www.reality.net/dnd/pdf/DnD%20-%20Tome%20of%20Battle%20-%20Book%20of%20Nine%20Swords%20(indexed).pdf

The actual game won't start until Friday of next week, so you'll have a week. Just so you know, the Reaper class and its lower form aren't available at the start, as it's an Unlockable class, much like Judge, Shapechanger, Necromancer, Oracle, and Scholar.
