Huh? What's wrong with that?

Well, my plan consumes five (useful) feats up to level twelve, leaving me with one extra feat which I'm going to use to increase my offensive capabilities while maintaining a large amount of support and control spells. I could delay my plan by three levels, but then I would be unable to get the epic feats in the Prestige Class I'm aiming for until thre levels later, which once you reach the epic levels, is a huge drawback.

I can make a bogun for him to be at level 7.

Nah, I'll be the random Psuedodragon following y'all. Perhaps I can relay your tale to a future writer/poet?

I can make a bogun for him to be at level 7. The bogun isn't exactly going to live long either. And it doesn't talk.

I can think of two ways that he could be my character's familiar (without the feat) and thus gain amazing bonuses (more health, well, less health at early levels, Improved Evasion, Spell Resistance, Increased Intelligence, etc.).
One, he switches to a Raven or Raven Variant (since they are the only basic familiars who can speak).
Two, just ignore the feat entirely since he's a separate playable character or whatever.

Up to you Golurk. I'm alright with either three options.

Well, the only downside of being a familiar would be reduced health until my character is about level 8 or so, but you'd get increased natural armor, spell resistance, and all sorts of bonuses. I don't really care, since I'd probably use a viper to boost my Bluff skill, so this is up to you and for your sake.
Ask Os, so that you aren't left completely defenseless all the time.

Nah, I'd like you to get the bluff skill you want. No need to hold you down. I prefer the wandering creature more.

Just so you know, without those familiar bonuses, you'll be incredibly weakened. Though, you wouldn't gain anything past level twelve, at least for a while.

I have a question.
The Epic Loremaster makes it so that whenever I choose to level that Epic Prestige Class up, I also gain a caster level.
Does that mean that I gain two character levels, two separate hit dice, and any bonus feats I would get?

No. It just counts towards certain stuff like overcoming spell resistance, countering spells, and crafting magic items among other things.

I think what its saying is that every level you need to pick which caster level/tree you're going to place your points in.

I believe so, but I've found a lot of sources using Caster Level and Class Level near-synonymously.
Wait, do I get Familiar benefits from the caster level (assuming I have a familiar).

I guess Os can answer that one. I like the wandering creature trope. I'm there, but also not exactly a part of anything. Neutral good, my favorite alignment.

Every time you gain a class level, you gain a character level as well. A level 1 fighter, level 1 rogue is still a level 2 character. You take feats and gain abilities based off your character level, not your class level.
