Lore(Prelude)
Kingdoms
Canaan: The primary human kingdom, which has gone without a King for centuries. It is now ruled by the corrupt Duchy of Canaan, which until recently, had been a force of benevolence. However, when Duke Vaas inherited the Duchy from his father under suspicious circumstances, the Duchy took a darker turn. Canaan is the largest of the three main continents, and is divided into three regions; the Northern Territories, the Central Plains, and the Southern Territories. While most Laguz live in their respective Kingdoms, there are still plenty who call Canaan home.
Grace: The Kingdom of Beasts, also known as the Land of Cats, and the Wild Kingdom. It is a land of mountains and jungle, ruled by the Crimson Conquerer, Genghis One-Arm. The Kingdom of Grace boasts the largest variety of Laguz, from Tigers and Lions, to Cats and Leopards, to Cheetahs and more. The Laguz of Grace are fairly friendly to outsiders, even humans, and often trade with Canaan.
Mount Annir: The lofty home of the Hawk Tribe, more famously known as Heaven's Spire. Mount Annir is the largest mountain in the known world, and its peak is said to stretch thousands of feet above the clouds. The mountain is located smack in the middle of the continent named after it, and most of the Laguz who call the mountain kingdom home live in one of five cities, built onto the mountainside. However, there are some small towns and settlements in the Outlying Lands at the base of the mountain, commonly referred to as the 'Bottom Lands'. Mount Annir is the only Kingdom without a port, and the Hawks are far less kind to humans than their feline neighbors up north.
The Gaal Islands: These seven islands are the home of the Raven Laguz, a tribe that values wisdom, intelligence, and gold. They are the best merchants of all the Laguz, and have established a giant network of trade routes all across the known world. The Islands themselves are surrounded by near impregnable rocky walls, though most of the Islands are actually lush paradises full of waterfalls and wildlife. The capitol of the Gaal Islands is Ravenscar Tower, which is ruled by the legendary Queen of Gold, Svala Darkwing.
Valgarde, the Floating Land: The mythical home of the Dragon Tribe, a giant landmass that is said to exist in the clouds. According to legend, the continent is always moving, and can only be found by mortals by flying into the Heart of a Thunderstorm, on the Winter Solstice. Many have tried to find the mythical land, but none have succeeded. Because of this, it is believed only another Dragon can find Valgarde. The Priests of the New Order believe Valgarde is in truth Heaven, and when you die, you ascend to live among the Dragons. Dragon Laguz are extremely rare and powerful, and are revered, even by other Laguz.
Northwind Valley: A small mountain continent, to the far northwest of Grace, and the home of the Falcons. It is a hidden, secluded land, cut off from the rest of the world. It is ruled by the Sky Queen, Ismaire. According to ancient lore, Ismaire was one of two companions who fought alongside the Goddess to defeat a Calamity now known only as the Rotten. The other companion was the Dragon King, who created Valgarde in order to watch over the Goddess's creations, after She Herself could no longer do so. If the legends are to be believed, Ismaire is the oldest Laguz alive, save for the Dragon King Himself. She is widely worshipped as a Deity.

More Lore.
Main Religions
The New Order: A widespread belief that focuses on the worship of Laguz as Higher Beings, primarily deifying Ismaire, Goddess of the Wind and Sky, and the Dragon King, Lord of Valgarde and Creator of Man. This belief is the most common in Canaan. Devout believers hold that upon death, the human soul is sent to the Gate of Time, where it is judged worthy or unworthy by the Dragon King. If judged worthy, the soul is then permitted to enter Valgarde, the legendary floating land, and live for eternity among the Dragons. In stark contest to the Ancient Ways, the New Order believes the Ancient Goddess of lore was actually the 'Calamity Bringer', or the Harbinger, who was defeated by Ismaire and the Dragon King.
The Ancient Ways: A much rarer belief, mainly held by the Monks of Graelwind Monastery. It focuses on the True Goddess as the primary deity, the ancient Goddess who fought alongside Ismaire and the Dragon King in times of myth, before the creation of Heaven, when men were still Immortal. However, after the nameless cataclysm that rendered Space and Time in two, the Goddess lost her powers, and as the Ancient Texts say, "Men then knew the pang of mortality, and they knew fear." The Goddess tasked Her most loyal companion, and Her husband, the Dragon King Alaxia, to create a realm for Her creations to rest, as a means of atonement for, in Her eyes, failing them. Thus Heaven was created, and it came to be known as Valgarde. The True Goddess left the Mortal Plane to sleep amidst the stars, in order to replenish her powers. To this day, devout followers of the Ancient Ways believe in something they call 'The Return'. They await the day the Goddess finally returns to Her people.
While the two religions hold similar views about Valgarde, most followers of the Ancient Ways believe the soul returns to the Goddess upon death, and is then reincarnated into the next cycle. As such, they do not really believe Valgarde is Heaven, but instead a land where the truly enlightened may reach in their mortal life, and achieve the highest form of enlightenment: Immortality. This version is especially prevalent in Graelwind Monastery, as according to legend, the founder of the Monastery was able to accomplish this feat.
Laguz Beliefs
While the Laguz as a whole do not have an established religion, they do see the True Goddess as the Creator of All Things, and believe the Dragon King was indeed Her Consort at one point. However, they do not recognize the two as being married. Nor do they believe in Heaven or an Afterlife. Instead, the Laguz believe in the Ever-Cycle, in which everything is returned to the planet, to nourish the next Cycle of Life.

Don't tell me Azura is the reincarnation of said Goddess. Okay then. I won't tell you. She isn't. The Goddess is still alive, just in a deep sleep. Kinda like a coma.

Some more lore. Important FiguresDuke Vaas: The Grand Duke and current Regent of Canaan. While the Regents began as only caretakers of the throne, it has been centuries since Royal rule, and the Regent now holds as much power as a King. He is a cruel and cunning man, who delights in the misery of others. He is the youngest of three children, and assumed the throne after the mysterious death of his father and two older brothers. The Blood General: A man of unknown origins, who is always covered from head to toe in blood red armor. He was recently appointed as leader of the Grand Three, after the former leader, Sir Geoffrey, betrayed the Duchy. A cunning strategist and ruthless general, it is said he has singlehandedly slain ten thousand opponents, and has even defeated a god in single combat. He is the strongest human in the world. The Mage King: Second of the Grand Three, it is said his magic has the power to create and destroy reality itself. Condescending and arrogant, he believes only he is worthy of wielding the arcane arts. He is a sick man, with a fierce obsession for Laguz(and falcons in particular) and his only dream in life is to make the Sky Queen his own. Only one person has ever faced the Mage King and lived to tell the tale. He is the only User to be officially recognized by both the Duchy and the Order. The Silent Wraith: The final member of the Grand Three, and the commander of the Duchy's Silent Knights. A feared and renowned assassin of terrifying skill, it is rumored he possesses the mythical Nine Scrolls, and he receives his supernatural powers from them. No one has ever seen his face, as he always appears shrouded in the blackest night. Sir Geoffrey: The former leader of the Grand Three, and a legendary hero known as the Sword King. Charismatic and noble, he is the very definition of a paragon. He condemned the Duchy as corrupt, and rebelled, beginning the long and brutal war that would later come to be known as the Scarlet Uprising. Darian Nightwinter: An enigmatic man with a love for riddles and lectures, and the Master of Graelwind Monastery. His family was charged with a certain task by the Royal Family centuries before, and he would do anything to see his task completed. Even give his own life. Azura: A young woman under the care of the Graelwind Monks. Her past is a complete mystery, to all save a few... Sky Queen Ismaire: The mythical Queen of Falcons, and goddess of the Sky. She is widely believed to be the oldest Laguz in existence, and the most powerful. In what is now a popular love ballad, she married her top lieutenant, and gave him four children. She was one of two mythical heroes who fought alongside the True Goddess in ancient times. Mountain King Genghis: The ruler of Grace, and famed Conquerer of the West. He is known by many names, most famously the Crimson Conquerer, for his meteoric rise to power and his fierce fire red Lion form. A stubborn and proud man, he has three children, though his eldest son vanished several decades ago. While he displays a strong face, Genghis has never recovered from that, and his health has been failing in recent years. Hawk King Isglean III: A ruthless and ambitious ruler with a strong hatred for humans, he would do anything, even kill his own kin, to raise his people high upon the pedestal of glory. Not much else his known about him, other than he has one child, named Isgleas. It is rumored he had another child once, a daughter, but she was captured by rogue mercenaries and killed trying to escape. He has recently declared war on both the Raven Tribe and the Falcon Tribe. Raven Queen Svala Darkwing: The legendary Queen of Gold. She is known far and wide for her shrewd business sense and prophetic foresight and wisdom. It is said she was shown a vision when she was still just a girl, a vision of the future that foretold she would lead her people into the 'glistening fires of the Dawn', a new age of prosperity. This vision later came true, when she established a long standing network of trade routes that exist to this day. She has two daughters, though it is unclear by whom. Alaxia, the Dragon King: The King of the Dragon Laguz, and ruler of Valgarde. The most powerful and ancient of all Laguz, he is more akin to a god, than a Shapeshifter. Very little is known about him or his mythical kingdom, as the only person who's ever met him(and is still alive) is Queen Ismaire, and she refuses to say anything about him. If it weren't for Queen Ismaire and the New Order, both Alaxia and Valgarde would likely be relegated to the pages of fairytales and storybooks. Kriyan: The owner of a small time Underground in Stonevale. He is a complete enigma, though he does appear to be a Cat Laguz of some sort... But what happened to his ears and tail? ??? man who is not supposed to exist. His past and goals are a complete mystery.

The Silence Dugodd Journals
Yes, I know. There's actually a reason for the topic title. Crazy, right? This is a new mechanic for EH, though it is similar to the Last Prophet Testaments in UB. During the CYOA(which might be longer than I originally thought), you can come across certain journals scattered throughout the land. Unlike in UB, there is no named quest for them, but you will only know the full picture if you find them all. The journals are all written by a certain scholar, and contain extremely cryptic lore, unless you have the whole collection, in which they actually make some sense. Once you find a journal in the CYOA, I will post its contents here.
The Journals can be found as random loot, as Sidequest rewards, in dungeons, or dropped by random enemies and some bosses.

Interesting indeed. I fear the Lodestar of Stars won't live up to this as equals. More harder I must work then!

My compendium topic doesn't have much by the way of cryptic entries but it does have lots of lore to be unlocked.

Ok king lets continue. The time line I've reasoned is Fe 9+10 ancient past, the scouring sited in Fe 6+7 which triggers the ending winter, ending winter effects whole planet robs dragons of their ability to maintain dragon form without degeneration (the dragon effects of the ending winter are cannon, and I believe that it is the source of the unspecified degeneration of the archenae dragons), then Fe 4+5, then Fe 6+7, then Fe 1,2,3, then fast forward a couple thousand years to awakening. I think neo stated his cyoa is set before 9,10. Which by extension would put it before gaiden. I operate under the theory that all FE games have taken place on the same world. ( I don't know where to place 8 though.)

Hmm... That's some interesting guesswork there... I think I'm going to put on my cryptic hat for a while. The answer to the riddle is in a different universe, and yet, also the same universe. In the past, though also in the future. A name is just a name, though a word can be a very powerful thing.

No. How old are you? 17? I had already graduated High School and was in the Army by then. Now, Clover, you are right, and yet you are also wrong.

Maybe it a parelle verse to Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn b/c the the laguz were treated like trash by the humans. While here humans are kind of looked like lower forms of life a d laguz are a higher form of life.
