Remember Horatio vanished before we could confirm he was dead. I have a bad feeling he either warned his friends in Merdia about our troops arriving then died, or warped himself there and informed everyone we are on our way. I vote A keep our 'squishy units' in the center and have our stronger units remain on high alert. This way the enemies have to show there hand first and we can be better prepared for whatever ambush awaiting us.

No Intel kills more people than losing people to get it. I hate to say it but I think we've sealed our fate by waiting, the fog will cover enemy tactics as well as our own. Waiting will open us up to an attack.
I'll vote B, but at this point I think it's making the best of a bad situation.

But at this point wouldn't we just run head long into an unknown enemy we don't know? I say we just wait and control what we can instead of rushing headlong into an obvious trap and lord knows what is actually waiting for us stay still and all our heavy defenders form a 'circle' around our 'squishy' units. I know I can't vote again but this is my reason why we wait until we know what we are up against
I just have a bad feeling about rushing into the unknown with no Intel only could lead to bad things don't let our fear cloud our judgment this far along

Grrr. This fog is too convenient. If we wait here long enough we are going to end up flanked or something. Most of the options are heard toward forward progress, but not all of the options leading forward forward progress can be death flags. Even this close to the end.
The enemy knows that June is coming and now her options have been severely limited by this fog. We went from scouting the other side to simply approaching the bridge.
B and increase patrols.

The tie is broken by yellow, only to be expertly re-set by our emperor-king. I'll give you a not-really-hint - it might pay off to review the chat with Horatio back in Tartan castle.

Change my vote to B, Cd.
I reviewed it as you said, and something doesn't add up. If we wait, I have a good feeling that we will be ambushed by some sort of risen army. Yet, if we advance we will likely still be led into a trap, though I don't know if we will face the risen there, or outside in the fog. In the fog, they have better invisibility, so it is most likely where they would strike us.
If so, they would want us to advance, and probably ambush is once more, if not have the castle appear empty. Unless they plan to send out a diversion team inside. Either way, an ambush is immenient.
We just need to see which one is more deadly, so B it is.

"We'll send a small team in under the cover of the fog. The main group will stay back," you announce. "Alyssa, Mary, Charon... hm... John, and Zephyr. Sneak onto the bridge, take out as many as you can. Once you're discovered, call for the rest of us."
"Are you coming with us?" Alyssa asks, gesturing to the knife tucked away in your sleeve.
(A) Join the attack (B) Stay with the main group (choose a commander)
(1) Alyssa (2) Mary (3) Charon (4) John (5) Zephyr

A June's experience is founded on leading small mobile groups.
OP Edit: Anyone voting A feel free to vote on a number as well, in case B wins.

Guess who's back? Expect several shorter story posts with shorter votes between them for this section. Depending on how well/bad you do. ----------------------------- You slip the knife from your sleeve, feeling its weight. You're still not completely comfortable with it, but knives feel more familiar than they used to. "I'll lead the strike team," you announce. "Paen, hold the main group back. Be ready to back us up if we're in trouble."
"Naturally," he answers.
With your strike team leading the way, you bring the main group to the bridge. You leave them hiding just behind the crest of the nearest hill and slip into the fog.
As you approach, the bridge's frame suddenly erupts into view. A large, stone structure jutting out across the river, you can't make out the other side. You can, however, hear the water rushing down below as it weaves along the bridge's supports. You strain your ears, and can vaguely hear the sound of footsteps further down the bridge. Between the fog and a series of tall barricades barring the way, you can't see the noise's source.
You take your first hesitant step onto the bridge, your shoes clacking a bit louder than you would like. Alyssa stops you before you can take a second, kneeling down and tracing a thin wire. She sneaks to the bridge's edge and peers over. Coming back, she whispers in your ear. "Noisemaker." You gather your dress, making sure to hoist it clear of the wire as you step over. Alyssa stays knelt down, helping the rest of your group over, while you cautiously advance forward, careful for any more traps.
The first set of barricades loom ahead. It looks like one large one in the front, with two smaller ones back and to the sides, forcing any attackers to move in two at a time and stopping any hope of a cavalry charge. Some kind of wood, though you can't tell what kind from here, though it looks thick. You keep moving forward, hunched low, knife in one hand, the other on your hatchet's handle.
Suddenly, a form steps out from behind the front barricade. His armor's color marks him as a Meridian soldier. He isn't facing directly towards you - he seems to be walking towards the edge of the bridge. He doesn't show any signs that he's seen you.
(A) Stay still and wait (B) Rush him with your knife (C) Throw your hatchet

Does it seem like me and Neo are the only ones who want to take the cautious approach?
Anyway I vote A let's see what he's doing first before we make our move.

C! Ephraim style baby. Leeroy Jenkins!!! But then he screams and alerts the entire army. Or worse, he proves one of our allies, maybe even a soldier in Rain's army. It would explain why they haven't arrived yet. Because maybe they already have? We just can't tell in the fog. This is a recon mission remember. We aren't trying to solo an Empire.
