Out of the localized FEs, Fen-Fen. Localized being the key word here. Genealogy never came out in NA. POR, as much as I love it, wasn't dark at all. Neither was RD. The only thing remotely dark about RD was the political corruption, which they downplayed, and Ashera's judgement, which was also downplayed. Most of the darkness that happened in RD was kept off screen, and what little was shown on screen was downplayed. There wasn't even that much in RD in the first place.
But in Awakening, there is forced suicide, backstabbing, you name it. Out of all the localized FEs, Awakening is by far the darkest. This isn't my opinion either. Based off what the word means in this context, and the games in question, this is a fact.

I'm replaying for the support log, but it isn't a dark game. FE4 still keeps that til this day. PoR or RD are probably the only two that can match it. Awakening is pretty darn lighthearted except for the ruined future part. Maybe it's because I consider dark games to be full of more mature themes (Not SI, mind you.) Death and overall tragedy, not just a apocalyptic world, which is actually pretty common in fantasy books. No offense, to anyone. It's not as dark overall as, say, Thracia or Genealogy. Maybe on par with PoR in terms of content, but not really presentation. It's kind of weird - the dark-stuff's not really front-and-center. Like... Several mention of bandit-slavers. Nowi mentions being a slave. Henry made some lady's eyes pop out of her head. Also what happened to the Taguel. The deadlords being stuck serving evil for eternity. Yen'fay being forced to fight his sister and countrymen... But, aside from Emmeryn, it's never really the focus, just kind of casually mentioned then people go on like "eh, whatever." So you don't really notice until you go back later. And Neo, you forgot some stuff in PoR/RD. You've got Lucia's near-execution, Leanne being held as a slave, the fights between Sanaki and Sephiran and... all the dragons fighting each other. Um... Soldiers slaughtering civilians for helping the Dawn Brigade, or just to bait the Dawn Brigade into the fight. Micaiah was going to burn the entire Crimean army alive if Tibarn hadn't stopped him. Um. Laguz feral powders. The slaughter and burning of serenes forest. That level where you get Nephenee and Keiran in PoR, the base commander was forcing POWs to fight in a coliseum-arena-thing. Speaking of Nephenee, you have to use her and Bron to smack down some civilians. Ilyana was forced to fight against her friends or be executed. You never really find out WHAT Oscar/Boyd/Rolf's mom did, I don't think. Plus, racism against laguz/beorc abounds. Greil's death. Ashnard's dragon's death. Screw Ashnard himself. Plus, Oliver's existence. That right there's one of the biggest affronts to humanity I've ever seen. |

Well, when you put it like that... Eh, you kinda have a point. It's been a while since I've played the Tellius games. Which is... Kinda ironic, now that I think about it. But I do remember poor Raijaron... There's a reason I have that profile pic.

Pretty much. Still, Awakening is a good game. I just hate that the developers rushed it. I hope they release FE 15 on 3DS
And a few other systems. It probably isn't likely, but one can hope.
I hope it's super dark too. Flawed hero, set in a original world, etc.
I'll stop derailing...

Or Serph. Pegasus Knights flying through a modern city? Hnnnng... Though I'm really worried, it's been forever since we've had any news whatsoever about it. Which I guess also means there hasn't been a confirmed cancellation? And no worries about derailing, the rails are kinda gone at this point. |

Actually, I'm fairly certain I remember reading about a confirmed cancellation somewhere... I don't remember where though. I could never get into SMT, so it doesn't really matter to me one way or another.

Well, guess it AoD's didn't happen when I planned. Just as I expected. Side note, jumping from 2nd to 3rd perspective's a bit jarring. Anyway, SoS's officially closed now. And ya'll may want to check the thread list.
