I need to get out of Solitude tonight. Even if it's only for a little while, I need to put distance between myself and the past.
After locking all the doors again, Lorelei changed into her armor, and took her time packing up the things she would need to take with her.

When Fransis and Lydia woke up there back at one of the inns in shinor Sol.
"How did we get here?" asked Fransis in a half blur/ half confused way. He noticed Lucinda in a separate bed starting to get up and Star just staring at him.
"Your welcome!" came a booming voice which happened to belong to the innkeeper.
"When your pet Star came back to the town she had a look of concern on her face like something happened to you,". "Me and a couple of the men followed her to the clearing right outside of town,". "There we saw you and that young lady passed out in the middle of the woods,". "So we took you back here and set you up here at my inn."
"Thank you" said Fransis to the innkeeper.
"The one you should be thanking is her" as the innkeeper went to go pet Stars head.
"When you are ready to leave, ask for Pete I will have your stuff ready for you,". Thank you Pete for your hospitality. Don't mention it anything to help out a young adventurer and his girlfriend
Fransis and Lydia looked at one another with there faces as red as a tomato and they both said " we are not like that we just knew one another growing up."
"Sur,"e said Pete with a sarcastic remark. To be young again asking you friend to take a walk with you and then you 2 asleep in the woods" Are you trying to make this old man cry?"
"We aren't like that we swear" they both said now with there face about as red as fire. Pete just responded with a laugh and he said "I just wanted to bust your chops anyways got stuff to do if you need anything just ask for Pete."
"One question before you leave Pete was Star acting strange?" he asked Pete nervously
"If by strange you mean very concerned for you and trying to get anyone's attention by howling and whimpering then yeah but other then that no she was fine."
As Pete left the room Fransis and Lydia just looked at each other and Lydia said "What happened last night in the clearing with you, me, and star must have been one crazy dream? We were both probably really exhausted were our daily travel and were so excited we didn't realize how tired we were."
Yeah Fransis replied that "stuff about me being an important individual and having to save the world and then star talkng" said Fransis half laughing. "Isn't that right girl?" looking at Star
Star simply replied "it a wasn't a dream it was all real"
As soon as Star said that they both fainted again.
"Really again those two had to faint when I opened my mouth" "Are you sure master Hircine he is able to do this said Star?" with a sigh. "Those two can't even handel a talking wolf how could they possibly handle Sithis?"
Just then the hooded figure took his hood off revealing what looked like the head of a deer. "Star my child you did good looking after him. Out of all the game I hunted i am glad you are the one that survive. Don't worry about him I will talk with him tonight. You and that young nord lady both come to the clearing tonight there everything will be revealed."
"What if he refuses master Hircine?" Star asked with concern.
"I could always use game" Hircine said with a smile before vanishing into the shadows

Avenicci sighed as he washed the black pair off of his face with a clean rag.
"That was marginally successful." He spoke to himself out loud as he grabbed a razor to shave the little amount of mustache he had left. "Probably should have gone with void salt powder instead of tar-based paint. This is going to be stuck in my hair for weeks."
He finished shaving before he walked back out into the main hall of the gym only to head into his room where Dorian awaited him.
"Would you like me to read yo-"
"No." Avenicci cut his servant off as he smashed his head into the pillow and promptly fell asleep.

Karthwasten is just ahead. If I stop there, maybe I can sell some stuff, and maybe even take a quick job for someone there. I'm sure there are some things I could do there. I might even be able to find a lead about someplace with treasure nearby, or something like that."
Lorelei had been travelling on foot for the last few days. She was hoping to get to Markarth soon, and find something to do there, and someplace to stay. She would likely never match the amount of business she had in Solitude anywhere else, so she hoped her stay in Markarth would only be temporary. And although she didn't leave anything too important back there, she still had things in Solitude that she would like to have back some day, and her rent was already paid in advance for the next few months. Staying in Markarth for more than a few weeks would mean that the move was likely going to be permanent, and that was the last thing she wanted.
I hope I can make some money in Karthwasten. I can survive by hunting and camping in the wilderness, but it would be nice to have a warm place to sleep, and a roof over my head. And the money I have right now isn't enough to make that happen.

"I am the night." Avenicci narrated to himself in a very gruff voice as he overlooked the little village of Karthwasten from a cliff. "I am darkness reborn. I am the thief of virtue. I am the guardian who watches from the shadows. I am the protector of the poor, hunter of the rich. The weak are my allies, and the strong shall crumble before my feet. I... Am... the shadow. I... Am... the dark. I... Am... Avenic-"
"What are you doing?"
"Stendarr's little toe! Don't do that!" Avenicci sprung up and shouted at Dorian who had snuck up on him.
Avenicci and his loyal servant had traveled to Karthwasten the night after Lorelei had reached the town on some information from some travelers that a Nord woman wearing odd armor was traveling south. After reaching the village, he was told by one of the locals that Lorelei had gone to a nearby cave, so they decided to set up camp until dawn.
"Why are you searching for this woman anyways?" Dorian inquired as he paced around.
"Because I have nothing better to do, plus the fact that she knows the one who cursed me, and that I still owe her." Avenicci explained as he walked over to his mat and lied down.
"And what of the ring?" Dorian continued to question, obviously not satisfied.
"I haven't finished examining it, and I only have a smidgen of a though on how to replicate the process." He spoke as he rolled over to her comfortable. "I decided to take a break, okay?"
"Do you want me to read you a story before you go to sleep?" Dorian asked with a chuckle.
"No!" Avenicci shouted as he threw a dagger near his servant's foot and pressed his head against his makeshift pillow.
"Goodnight, master." Dorian smiled as he walked over to his bedroll.
"I hate you." Avenicci retorted as he put out the lantern next to his bed and fell asleep.

Hermaues was the first sight to greet the amnesiac. Siegemund took a look around. Sprits wandered aimlessly from shelf to shelf picking up books.
"how dreary." He said to himself quietly.
"Congratulations my boy. You have completed the first step on this grand stage and in the role you play. As per our bargain, each night a memory will come to you. What you do with it does not concern me. Your next task will take you to Whiterun. there, I have placed a powerful black book, Epistulery Acumen. A final warning, you will meet a group of people there that at first you shall not recongnize. Heed them." Hermaeus ended cryptically.
Siegemund nodded, "thanks for you help Herma Mora." He offed a small smile before disappearing from the realm.
hermaeus watched him and of he could have smiled he would.

The voyage to Skyrim is a lot shorter than Varren expected. Varren had been to Skyrim once a long time ago, in a different life, as part of a royal embassy, and he distinctly remembers a different kind of voyage. But that was in a different era, and they had been traveling from Summerset, not Solstheim. Not to mention the ship was a lot... Slower. While the Gullwind wasn't exactly the luxury royal cruiser he was used to, you probably couldn't find a faster ship in all of Tamriel. No, on all of Nirn. Still, combine the Gull's speed and the obviously heavily daedric influenced wind, and it was only a few hours before Varren's looking out at the coast of Skyrim.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Elena says softly from behind him, joining him on deck. "That's the city of Windhelm in the distance. It was Skyrim's capital for a long time after Skyrim ceded from the Empire, but eventually the capital moved back to Solitude after the Great Reform. Jarl Nelod is a good man, and a good ruler. I've known him for most of my life. It's why Windhelm is off limits to the Guild."
Varren smiles as the elf moves to stand next to him, mildly impressed. A benevolent Guildmaster, eh? Interesting. "So, where do we go from here?" He asks his newfound partner.
"That's up to you," Elena replies, smiling. "I'm heading back to Riften. I'd like it very much if you came with, but you're not beholden to me or the Guild. You don't have to join if you don't want to."
Varren only has to think for a moment. After all, he's been pondering what to do when they landed since the voyage began. "I think I'll tag along. I need to familiarize myself with Skyrim before I do anything, and I could use some help with my search, and a place to rest my head."
Elena seems quite happy with that. "Sounds like a plan. I'll be happy to help. What exactly are you searching for?"
"The Elder Scrolls," Varren replies simply.
Before the shocked elf can respond, a call is sounded from the lookout in the mast nest above. "Land Ho!"

4E, 998 , 2 months prior the Battle of Solsteihm
figures moved rapidly as the bells rung in Cyrodriil. Men and women alike hoisted their weapons. The imperial palace was a hectic war zone and one figure stood off to the side. his red hair was held into a ponytail and a blue headband wrapped firmly across his forehead.
"Siegemund!" A voice barked. The boy turned his head in acknowledgment. A burly man of 6'1 and equally Red hair towered over him. He was musclar and donned in bulky brown armor. On his back was a battle axe of immense size. In his right hand was a sword with a black blade and red hilt.
"father." Siegemund inclined his head. His eyes drew down to the sword in surprise. "I figured this tragic day would be your lousiest Birthday yet. So I crafted this sword and enchanted it. Here, a keepsake to remember me by." His father smiled.
"stop saying things like that. Just because sithis's army marches right here in the imperial capital means nothing!" Siegemund snapped.
"Herman, you should really stop scaring the boy on his 18th birthday" a voice reprimanded. coming down the stairs was a Nordic woman with blonde hair. Like her husband, Marthdia was dressed in steel armor.
herman give a wolffish grin as he turned around once more to face his son, "he's strong enough. He has the blood of Titus Mede I running through his veins. Plus royal blood is amazing." Herman muttered the last part.
while it was true Herman was one of the descendants of the Medes, he stood only as a backup to the true crown heirs of the throne for the empire not as though he was treated any less. his wife, however was descended from a lucky woman who had happened to marry a Nordic Hero during the Civil war between the Empire and the stormcloaks.
there was no warning in the air as Siegemund took the sword from his fathers hand. He looked at the blade with interest noticing it glistened in the sunlight. "Stardust. I'll name you stardust." He chuckled dryly. He looked up to meet the eyes of a nearby imperial girl, no older than himself.
Before he could say anything a ripple burst forth through the stone gates as hordes of foul beasts entered the capital. " to war!" Yelled a few soldiers.
Siegemund couldn't keep up with how long the battle raged as men were ripped apart by the bare hands of demons. Each strike with stardust was precise, impale, plunge, strike, evade. A constant rhythm on the field of battle. he could feel himself tiring as he fought until he reached the Canal. He could no longer hear his fathers roars of fury as his mighty axe crashed onto each foe, nor his mothers equally battle cries.
it was there he saw it. Both Herman and Marthdia laid on the ground pooled in their own blood. he wasn't sure what compelled him to scream like a child as he raced to his parents side. They were dead. Their bodies as cold as a winter storm in Skyrim itself. Siegemund did not see the fiend that appeared behind him, sword raised an it let out a screech of victory. Nothing mattered. The war was lost.
the girl from before tackled him to the ground. Before he could get or his fee she had already slew the demon and had impaled another assasin. She cradle her left arm, and he could make out the hole in her left bicep. It bless profusely and soon he found himself filing into battle again with fury. He smashed an assassins head into the stone wall multiple times before launching an assault of fists. It didn't matter if his for was already dead as each punch smashed their jaw into the stone pavement. Even if blood leaked from their mouth and their soulless eyes stared a him, mocking him.
"I'm Nephle... Can you move?" The girl asked. She received no response as the boy got off his latest victim. The burning wound in his side mattered not as he collapsed falling backwards into the ocean. He went under the water and quickly lost consciousness as his head smashed into a jagged rock at the bottom.
the battle of the Imperial city was lost, and with it Cyrodiil

Lorelei was sitting in the first clearing in the cavern that one would come to if they entered from the end of the cave near the towers on the cliff. You could smell a vegetable stew cooking in the pot in the hot coals of the fire. In the pan next to that she was cooking mudcrab legs in a broth she had made the day before. But since that didn't require constant attention, she was sitting nearby skinning a wolf she had killed. Everything was normal, until she lost focus and her knife slipped. She didn't cut herself, but it had damaged part of the pelt.
An amateur mistake. That's not like me...
Lorelei's vision began to blur, and her head was hurting. She put down the knife, knowing what would happen next.
---
"You're supposed to know a cure. Please, I'll do anything for it. I don't want to live like this, I want to be able to talk to people, stand in the sunshine..."
There was silence. This wasn't the first time she had pleaded for the thing she wanted so desperately, to be human again.
"Am I ever going to get an answer? Or is there some requirement I have to fulfil before you'll say anything? If so...I'll use every resource I have to accomplish whatever goal it is, or find whatever you want me to bring you. I will, so just tell me what to do."
Somewhere in the darkness, it seemed that something was preparing to finally break it's silence...
---
Lorelei slowly finished skinning the wolf. She stored everything where it should be, and set everything up so all she had left to do was just eat, and rest. After rinsing her hands off in the stream nearby, she took a bowl and filled it with stew, and put the mudcrab legs on a plate. She sat down and leaned back, letting the rock behind her support her as she ate.
This is why I needed to try and get away from the past.
Before long, she fell asleep right there. Lorelei then faced her horrible nightmares, just as she always had whenever she closed her eyes. Drained and shaken, it would be night before she woke up again.

Ironically on perhaps the other side of the world, a youth was waking up from his own Nightmares. Siegemund breathed heavily. He had found out a detail of his past Like the Daedric prince said he would. Though, it wasn't what he hoped. He don't understand why his family hadn't tooken the throne.
"There must he something more to this." He thought, shakily standing to his feet. He glanced at Nephle. She was in his dreams, but how did she recongnize him and most importantly, Why did she not reveal her imperial background.
She was asleep and that was good as far as he was concerned. "Fantastic, related to one of the Emperors of Tamriel." He remarked bitterly. From what he had understood, his parents obviously wasn't married. And it was obvious from dream Siegemund eyes he was a bitter person.
"The quicker I accomplish his tasks the more memories I get back." He said to himself A rustle in the bushes caught his attention and he turned around to see a wolf staring at him. "Unless you want to be food, scat." He barked.
The wolf gazed at him awhile more before trotting off. Siegemund looked at the stream. Perhaps a bath would cool off his negative emotions.

Avenicci woke up midday to find Dorian standing over him, whom he promptly kicked in the chest out of surprise.
"Don't bloody do that!" He shouted as he haphazardly rolled out of his bedroll and put on some adventuring clothes. "By Dagon's name I've told you not to look at me when I'm sleeping! It's creepy!"
"How about this?" Dorian chuckled as his eyes widened and his mouth grinned eerily in the most terrifying expression imaginable.
"Just go die already." Avenicci told him as he chucked a rag cloth at his face in irritation.
"I'm afraid I can't do that."
"Too bad."
Avenicci grumbled as he grabbed Apotheosis and the Unbound Dremora staff.
I've really got to name this thing.
"Let's go." He shouted at his servant who was imbibing a bottle of Alto Wine. "She probably went to Blind Cliff Cave southwest of here."

After a good few hours of hiking, the two had reached the cave where they found Lorelei rolling around in her sleep.
"Put on a pot of the Eidar fondue on the spit over there once you get a fire going." Avenicci ordered Dorian as he took a good look at the Nord woman at his feet.
"As you wish." Dorian took a bow as he backed away and went to work. "Wouldn't want to disturb your quality time with your lady friend."
"Go to Coldharbour." Avenicci rolled his eyes as he shook Lorelei to wake her up a bit. "Uh... Hello, there, person."

As Avenicci began to shake Lorelei to try and wake her up, she started to calm down. Slowly, she started to wake up, but she was still disoriented. She tried to sit up, but couldn't keep her balance well, so she leaned her head on Avenicci's shoulder for support. But even though she was fighting as hard as she could to stay awake, her eyelids were heavy, and she knew in the back of her mind that if she could just sleep a little longer, she wouldn't wake up disoriented again.

"Heeeeeey there, stay awake." Avenicci nudged her slightly before shaking her a bit to fully awaken there. "You know, you're uh, very friendly when you're, um, uhn, mmm, sleepy."
"So, what's your favorite thing to do together?" Dorian teased them both as he stirred the pot.
"When will you let this go?" Avenicci complained as he allowed Lorelei to rest on his shoulder again.
"When will you let her go?" His servant grinned as he put a lid on the fondue.
"Touché."

30 minutes later...
Star went over to lick Fransis's and Lydia's face to get them up. "This no time to be lazy you and her have a meeting with my master tonight Fransis and Lydia."
As both of them started to stir awake Star just stared at them and said "You better not faint this time otherwise Hircine will have your heads" said a very annoyed Star. "Yes I can talk but only when the 3 of us are alone,". Otherwise people might start to get suspicious. My master requests you and her presence tonight where he shall much information about your past Fransis."
"I can't believe I am talking to my wolf right now" though Fransis. How will we know what he looks like he" asked?
"Look for the white stag" she responded
When Lydia finally started coming to she thought to herself. "Me and him are really going insane aren't we?" Then she spoke "I can understand why this master Hircine wants him but what could he want from me?" Lydia asked rather confused.
"Like I told you before you know a lot about the world and Fransis needs all the help he can get,". You should be honored master Hircine has picked you to guide him on his quest especially since you two have been friends for as long as I can remember."
"Now both of you get up and get ready master Hircine is coming tonight and he wouldn't be happy to see his son approach him like that."
Lydia rather reluctly addressed Fransis " looks likes me and you are going to be travelling for a while. She retrieved her swords and some clothes. "I am going to freshen up and then get some breakfast. I expect to see you outside in a couple of hours and make sure you bring your weapons. If we are going to be travelling together I have to gauge how good you are handling a weapon." With that Lydia left the room
"Dam this day keeps on getting stranger and stranger", said a very overwhelmed Fransis. "First my wolf starts talking to me. Then she says I have an important task that I have to do otherwise the entire world is in danger. Finally, my best friend I haven't seen in ages comes back and she is dragged into this mess." "At least I can do something I am kind of familiar" as he picked up his blades.
"Better get ready I got a loooong day ahead me." As Fransis left the room one thing was still bothering him "what did she mean by Hircine wanted to see his son?"
The only one left was Star who thought to herself "I hope you are ready Fransis b/c this will be the day where much be revealed to you."

"I'm normally...always friendly..." she said as she struggled to stay awake, "Thank you for holding me... I'm just so tired now, I can't...stay awake."
Lorelei then yawned, and tried to sit up on her own, but still had to hold on to Avenicci's arm in the end. Her eyes were shining as they reflected the light from the fire, and she seemed truly grateful for Avenicci's help.

"Nah..." He mouthed as he shook his head at Dorian.
Dorian tried to stifle a laugh but failed as he wiped away a tear from his face.
"Are you're sure you're, uhmm, alright?"

"What do you mean?"
Lorelei seemed to be acting very innocent, and she wasn't angry about Avenicci's comment. She was quite curious as to what he meant, actually. She then moved her head off of his shoulder, seemingly doing better. But then she must have become dizzy again, as she started falling backwards, but caught herself and then just leaned against the rock she had fallen asleep by earlier.
