"Glad you feel that way. Now, the more time we waste talking up here, the longer it takes for us to actually find what we're looking for. And I would rather not have anyone accidentally overhear us," Lorelei said as she started climbing down the ladder.

"Then take a shortcut." Avenicci replied as he climbed down the trapdoor, skipping the ladder, and landed a roll on the icy floor beneath, causing him to slide and crash into a wall. "Like that."

Varren only shakes his head as he climbs down after the pair. "Thanks, but I think I'll just take the ladder. And sorry. I uh... Kinda tend to ramble at times. Just ignore me."
Now, if he were a vamp, where would he hide? "Have you checked the deepest part yet?"

"Why would I have?" Avenicci asked as he got up after sliding a bit and muttering under his breath. "Occursed slippery frozen water."

"I've already checked every area, except for one room that no one can unlock from the outside. And I've spoken to the one who's inside that room, and can actually open that door, and no one else has been inside in over half a century," Lorelei said as she picked up a latern that contained a magelight spell, and started walking.

"Shiny." Avenicci said smoothly as he examined the lantern. "Speaking of shiny things, there's this crown in one of the rooms that, would you think anyone would mind if I, uh... Borrowed it?"

Interesting... "And I'm guessing there's no way to slip past whomever resides in this mysterious room, is there... Right. That settles it. We need to get into that room. I guarantee you that is where your friendly Vamp is hiding his toy."

"Alright, though I'm not sure it will be easy to convince the Augur to let us in...," Lorelei said as she lead the way towards the room. "He pretty much defines the word 'recluse'."

"Lorelei." Avenicci poked her on the shoulder before checking around a corner for any potential enemies. "This is important. That crown in the Hall of Attainment, what is it? It's shiny and it smells musty."

"Have you ever considered that it might just be a replica, used to make a statement about the reality of how bad the monarchy and ruling class has been in recent years? Sure, it all looks nice and pretty from the outside, but it's actually very stale, nothing happens, and they stink," Lorelei said, not trying to mask her annoyance and sarcasm at all.

"I never thought about it that way..." Avenicci acted as if his mind had been blown before poking Lorelei again. "Seriously though, what is it, it felt, evil. That or just really powerful. It's hard to tell the difference sometimes.

"And you wonder why I don't want you to have it?" Lorelei asked Avenicci, before she thought about her previous comment and how her newest companion might have felt about it. She then turned to Varren, and decided that apologizing would be the best way to ensure that he didn't get mad and leave. "Oh, and sorry about that last comment. The last thing I need to do is offend someone right now."
I need someone who knows what he's doing right now, and since I can't afford to tell anyone else about all of this, I need to keep what little help I have.
After just a few more minutes, the group was walking down the branch of the cave that lead to the Augur's room.
"We're almost there."

"But what good is forbidden power that isn't mine?" Avenicci pleaded as he tried to give his best puppy dog stare. "I'll promise I'll take good care of it, and feed it every day with the blood of the innocent."
He nods his head before discontinuing the act and walking normally.

"So any idea where we start our trip Franny?" Lydia asked. "Well I do remember this one mining town I use to go with Potema," Fracis responded. "Oh I thought I was going to get a different response," Lydia replied slightly surprised."Believe it or not I actually do have a sense of direction," Fransis replied while Potema just shock her head no.
"Really the only reason we had any idea was because of me," Potema whispered to Lydia. "Hey cut me some slack you two," Fransis sighed. "So anyway love what's the name of this place?" Lydia asked Fransis. "The place is called Shor's stone, after an ancient god," Fransis replied. "Why does that name sound so familiar? Lydia wondered as the exit of Autumnshade clearing came into view

Varren merely watches the exchange in amusement, shrugging off his new companion's apology. "Hey, I actually agree with you. No need to apologize. Besides... When you really think about it, I'm the worst monarch in history anyway. You can't really throw any insult at me I wouldn't deserve."
The path suddenly ends in a rather large door. "I take it this is the door?" He asks rhetorically.
You'd have to be blind, deaf, and stupid to not sense the power beyond.

"Yes, this is it," Lorelei said, even though she knew that her confirmation wasn't needed.
"What you seek is not here. Turn back," a powerful voice said from beyond the door.

Very interesting indeed... But it only strengthens Varren's resolve. "Ah, so the voice speaks... How do I know you speak the truth, however? What is the harm of simply allowing us to check? I mean, surely you have nothing to hide. We will simply be in and out, and if I am wrong, I will profusely apologize. You will never see me again. I would really prefer to keep things civil. I'm no barbarian after all. But I'm afraid I have to insist. I'm on a very strict schedule, you see. While I would be loathe to do so, I am not against forcing my way in. I truly wonder... Who is more powerful? You, or a Daedric Prince?"

"So what do you plan on doing when we get there?" Lydia asked Fransis. "Just gather some information," Fransis replied nonchalantly. "I guess it's better then nothing," Lydia sighed. "Hey he could of replied with wonder around until we stumble upon something," Potema chides. "You both really think I am some air head don't you?" Fransis replied to both of his companions who nodded yes.
"Well I just thought of a killer idea but I guess I will keep it to myself," Fransis told his friends. "Geez we wonder what that could be?" both Potema and Lydia said. "It was going to be neat to but oh well guess I will have to be the great Hircine man by myself," Fransis said. "What you mean Hircine man?" Potema and Lydia both said looking at Fransis. "My idea for being a vigilante fighter who protects the weak from evil alongside Hircine woman and Pooch," Fransis said very excited.
"Even talk in a rapsy voice, use the shadows to my advantage, and some many other great ideas," Fransis said very excitedly. "Are you trying to make a fool out of your fathers reputation?" Potema yelled at Fransis. "Besides pooch really you couldn't think of a better name then that?" Potema sighed.
"I swear by my name Francis "the tamer" Wayne, I will get this idea done," Fransis stated with fierce determination. "Hey Franny and Pooch I hate to break up this love fest but looks like we have some company," Lydia said as some enemies approached. "Fine but this isn't over mark my words," Fransis said gripping his spear

While Fransis and Potema were arguing the commotion attracted the attention of some bears. The alpha bear let off an intimating roar towards the group. "Well aren't you a tough little fellow but unfortunately we are a little busy," Lydia told the bear. "Yeah maybe some other time," Fransis said as him and Lydia turned to walk away. The bear didn't pay any attention and went charging towards Fransis. "You idiot Fransis turning your back on a wild animal," Potema said as she tackled the bear with all her might. The alpoha bear was a little shocked but recovered quick enough to get a hard swipe at Potema sending her flying and crashing into a nearby tree.
"Potema!" Lydia and Fransis both called out running to there injured companion. "You fool I will be fine but you have to always pay attention to your surroundings," Potema whispers out before she felt asleep. "Lydia stay here with her Yogi just made his last mistake," Fransis said gripping his spear.
What happened next was over in an instance for the bear. As Fransis grabbed his spear from behind and spun it so fast the bear could hardly react before the spear pierced his heart killing it in one blow. Fransis turned his attention to the other bears and called out to them. "If you don't want to end up like your friend I suggest you leave," Fransis told the scared bears. Apparently they got the message b/cas soon as Fransis turned into there direction they took off back into the woods.
"What should we do with the dead bear?" Lydia asked. "Whatever you want to do, I have to get Potema into town to fix her up," Fransis said as he picked up Potema. "I am sorry sis, my carelessness could of cost you your life," Fransis whispered to Potema. Lydia finished carving up whatever bear meat, pelt, and cl!was she could fit into her bag as the group could see the tiny mining town on the horizon.

As Fransis, Lydia, and Potema ,who could at least walk after her injuries, made it close to Shor Stone they heard a noise which caught there attention. "Fransis what should we do," Lydia asked. "Take Potema and meet at the inn chances are one of the bears are looking for a little revenge" Fransis said gripping his spear. "Don't worry Lydia I will be fine I am just worried about Potema," Fransis told Lydia before she could get a word out. "Potema before you say anything I am going to protect you so don't even try to argue with me," Fransis said as he took off in the direction of the noise. "Let's go, Fransis please be safe," Lydia and Potema said as they took off.
"Okay show yourself you stupid bear I will deal with you like I dealt with your friend," Fransis called out. The creature made it's way out of the bushes and into the view of Fransis. What Fransis saw wasn't a bear but a husky puppy. The puppy was maybe a couple of weeks old with fur a mixture of both black and white, eyes about as blue as the sky above.
"It's okay little guy I will not hurt you," Fransis said crouching down holding out a piece of meat for him. The puppy began to inch slowly over to Fransis ever cautious. Until he got close sniffed the meat and then ate it. The puppy seemed to warm up to Fransis afterwards because after he ate the mneat he went over and started licking Fransis. "I can't just leave you all by yourself little one," Fransis said as he picked up the puppy. "I guess at the very least I can take you back to town with me," Fransis said while coddling the puppy in his arms.
