Kiran feels like he's floating in a void, like he doesn't have a body. He's in a long, long hallway, stark white and lined with doors. There's a figure in a black shawl creeping along. It pauses and turns. Kiran feels his breath catch in his throat as the formless shadow underneath stares in his direction. After a few tense seconds, it turns back to shamble down the hall. It pauses at a door, seemingly double-checking the number, and slowly pushes it open.
"Hello, little one" the shadow says in a gentle, elderly voice. It almost sounds grandmotherly.
"You're... Death, aren't you?" a small voice calls from inside the room.
"Yes. I am sorry, but it is your time. I know you are scared, but there is no need to fear. I am here to guide you. Please, come with me."
A glowing, humanoid figure comes through the door. The shadowy figure walks with it, arm-in-arm, and disappears down the hallway.

Wednesday, September 5th
Somnis wakes you up the next morning, the same way as before. And snuggles with Dogachu while you get ready. Predictable...
After class the next day, you check which clubs are meeting. What looks interesting...?
(A) Check out the Volunteer club - Somnis is there! ...Building a house. With power tools. Oh, God.
(B) Check out the Soccer Club - Freya's there, and usually Natsumi
(C) Check out the Occult Club - Buttons is there, and probably Jimmy, and sometimes Natsumi
(D) Check out the Robotics club
(E) Head to the park
(F) Head to the mall
(G) Invite ____ to _____ (at present, only the other junior NPCs are available - you'll need to get some phone numbers)

Kiran heads out to the soccer field. Freya gives him a wave. "We're just doing some simple drills to warm-up, but we'll be doing a pick-up game later. Go ahead and grab a partner! You're free to come and go as you please, but if you want a position on the team for inter-school matches, you're gonna have to show me you deserve it! No special favors just because you're Gnat's buddy!"
Out on the field are a pair of freshmen who are really showing off even though they're just doing a passing drill. One's unusually muscular, wearing a black t-shirt with blue jeans. The other's dressed in a proper school soccer uniform; he's trim with brown hair hidden under a large straw hat.
Natsumi's sitting on a bench nearby. She's been doing some warm-ups, and she's already out of breath. Looks like her injury may be worse than she wants to admit. Kiran immediately goes to check on her.
"Hey, you OK?" he asks.
"Yeah, just... a little winded." Natsumi manages a cheerful smile.
"You really probably shouldn't be doing this," Kiran points out.
"It's fine, I'm taking it easy..." Natsumi says. "I'll sit out of the pick-up game, I think. But I can handle some drills. Here, gimme a hand up, Kiran-person."
Kiran helps her to her feet and she strolls out towards the field. He needs to pick a partner, huh? The two from before have broken up.
(A) Work with Natsumi
(B) Work with Freya
(C) Work with Straw-hat
(D) Work with Muscles
(E) Eh, bored now. Sit down and watch.

Kiran walks over to the kid with the straw hat. "Yo, Luffy!" he calls out.
The kid with the straw hat turns around with a sigh. He clearly gets that a lot.
"Want to partner with me?" Kiran asks.
"Sure, if you promise there won't be any more One Piece jokes," he answers.
Kiran laughs. "I'll try, but no guarantees."
"Call me Lance instead, then."
Kiran is... bad. Not 'Somnis playing video games' bad, but still pretty inexcusably awful. Lance grimaces at him. A lot. But is nice enough not to say anything beyond a few nice pointers. After the drills, they move to the pick-up games. Even injured-Natsumi outperforms him. Handily. He spends as much time on his butt as he does with the soccer ball.
Freya pats him on the back afterward. "That. Was. Awful."
"Gee. Thanks," Kiran says back.
"Don't worry about it, don't worry. That just means you need to come to the club more often and, uh... What's that thing you video-game-nerds say? 'Git gud scrub?'" Freya grins.
"Ugh..." Kiran groans. "I'll think about it, but you've gotta promise to never say that type of thing again."
"Deal!" Freya offers him a handshake.
Kiran's Proficiency increased by 1.
Now, what to do for the evening...? Natsumi and Freya are both standing nearby, chatting about something. That Lance kid is still packing up, too.
(A) Find Somnis and walk her home... she'll definitely want to hang out again. Always
(B) Head to the mall
(C) Go to the park
(D) Hang out at the graveyard because reasons
(E) Go night fishing at the beach
(F) Invite ____ to _____
(G) Study!
(H) Cook a nice, healthy meal and walk Dogachu like a mature person

Kiran asks Lance if he wants to check out the mall later.
Lance thinks for a minute. "Today's... Wednesday, right? Yeah, sure. Why not?"
When Kiran gets to the mall, he starts looking around. The centerpiece of the mall is a large fountain decorated with impressive statues of dozens of people. Bookstore, food court, cafe, grocery store, florist, movie theater, music store... and plenty more. Kiran does a double-take as you see Freya sitting by the fountain in a sundress with a bag of... gardening supplies? There's a girl with brown hair worn in a french braid nervously walking around the music store. Kiran also notices a red-haired waitress in the cafe, serving coffee to a guy wearing sunglasses indoors. Lance looks at the pair and groans. "Ugh. That's Tom. The dude's such a jerk. Anyway. What're we gonna do?"
(A) Go meet up with Freya's doppelganger
(B) Just walk around aimlessly
(C) Head to the music store
(D) Let's go dick with this Tom guy
(E) Wanna catch a movie?
(F) Bookstore, maybe?
(G) Want to look for some new outfits?
