"To be honest, Lisa, I was just looking for an excuse to talk to you.  Get to know you a bit better.  Maybe we forget about the tutoring and just hang out sometime?" Kiran suggests.

"Oh.  Why didn't you just ask in the first place?"

Kiran shrugs.  "I guess I was just worried about being too forward with a loli."

"Just be straight with me."

"Alright.  Well, then, do you want to hang out sometime?" Kiran asks.

"I guess that's fine.  Did you have any particular time in mind?  I should be free this weekend."

"Tell you what, why don't we trade numbers and work it out later?  I've already eaten up a lot of Lance's study time."

"Sure."  Lisa takes out her phone and the two swap numbers.

Kiran looks over to see Dogachu holding a ruler in his mouth, points to things on a piece of paper while Lance struggles to keep up with the lesson.  "I see...  I think I get it, Mr. Dog."

"...We should get back to work.  Later, Kiran."

Kiran heads to bed.  When he sleeps, he dreams of that familiar office, the one where he first saw that angel.  He finds her here again, though now she's pacing back and forth anxiously.  Unlike before, she doesn't seem to notice Kiran.

"Damn, damn, damn it all!  I should have killed him.  I should have just struck him down and taken the soul!  Why did I hesitate?"  She stops and stares towards the door.  "Not again.  Never again.  I must remember why I'm fighting."


Kiran wakes up the next morning to still no Somnis.  Strange...  And Tia still seems sad.  She leaves while Kiran's still getting ready.

(A) Head over to Somnis' house this morning

You head to Somnis' house and knock on the door.  "Somnis?  Ms. Evermore?  Hello?"

Somnis' mom answers the door.  "Hello, Kiran.  Is something wrong?"

"I'm not sure.  Maybe?  Somnis hasn't been by in, like... 3 whole days or something!  Is everything OK with her?"

Ms. Evermore freezes.  "...You should come inside, dear."

Kiran has a bad feeling...  But he does what she asked.  They sit down at the kitchen table together.

"Kiran...  One of Somnis' friends was threatening to kill herself the other day.  She's in the hospital right now.  And Somnis has been..."

Kiran shakes his head.  "I, uh...  No, I think I understand.  Um.  Do you think she wants to... talk or something?  Should I call her or...?"

"I don't know.  She's really torn up, but talking to her right now is like pulling teeth.  I can't even get her to open up to me about how she's feeling.  Maybe give her another day or two...  Or maybe she would talk to you?  I don't know."  She buries her face in her hands.  "I just don't know...  Ugh.  You have to deal with things like this a lot as a police officer but when it's your own daughter it's... like, what do I do?"

"Oh..."

Ms. Evermore is silent for a moment.  "Ah!  Look at me, sitting here wasting your time.  If you don't hurry, you'll be late for school.  You don't want me to have to arrest you for truancy, do you?  Run along, quick like a little bunny!"

"Ah!  Y-yes ma'am!"  Kiran books it to school.


There's an announcement today.

"Hello, good morning! Mattea here! Alright, anyone who wants to be part of the trivia competition this weekend needs to come to Trivia Club today to sign up! Have a great day, everyone!"

Everyone who was absent is back, and a new girl introduces herself as Samanatha.

Kiran heads after the new girl. She heads to the Gardening Club before he can catch up.

"Hello, my little mealworms! Today we're going to be getting some more plants in the ground! Hopefully we'll be able to get a harvest before the first frost! Now, we're going to need to finish weeding the last section of the garden, we already set out the fertilizer last time... Oh, and you should all be ever so excited for next Thursday! We have an excellent surprise in store."

After Raine begins the club meeting - and mentions something about a surprise next week - the new girl starts chatting with Tia.

Kiran decides to butt in. "Hi! Sam, right? I'm Kiran. Tia's roommate."

"Hi, Kiran," Tia says. She leans over and whispers in his ear. "What's that creepy furry thing? Is it bad?"

He answers quietly. "Don't worry, it's fine."

"Hello, Kiran. Nice to meet you," Sam says to Kiran. "Yes, you are right my name is Sam and today is my first day here, well, in this city and high school. So you're Tia's roommate, that's nice. Since you two know each other, umm, would you mind showing me around this town? It would be awfully helpful if a couple of people familiar with the place can show me around."

Sam gives them a hopeful stare.

"Sorry, I have work tonight..." Tia says apologetically. "Plus I'm also really new around here. I can show you how to get to the mall, but that's it." Tia turns and joins Sam with the hopeful staring.

(A) "Spend the evening with a hot girl? Oh, Hell yes!"

Kiran looks between the two for a moment, then smiles broadly. "Spend the evening with a hot girl? Oh, Hell yes! Of course I'm not too busy for you."

Kiran takes her downtown and starts showing her around. He shows her the best bus routes to get around, which ones to take to get to the mall, and "most importantly, TO THE BEEEACH!" He points out some buildings downtown, including a theater, museum, ice rink, library, giant corporation, fire and police stations, a few restaurants... "How's that for a tour?"

"Oh, well, it looks like any other city. I do appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to show a newbie like me around. I just hope one day I can repay your kindness. So what is this place known for? Like if you had to pick a thing this town is known for or is special and unique to this place. What would you say is this town's claim to fame? I would love to see it and if you would take me there," Sam pleads.

Damn these are all pretty good going with B for Business that might be bringing the apocalypse
