"Hey!" Kira taps Skullbrooch's shoulder after the meeting. She turns, and he looks her up and down, then nods. "I like the outfit. Really matches your eyes. Speaking of which, the purple eyes. Very cool. Are they natural?"
She folds her arms with a skeptical glare, then flashes a sly smirk. "A bunch of compliments, then a question so I have to answer. Transparent textbook intro. But I like it!" Arcadia's smirk morphs into a beaming smile. "Yup, all natural. What you see is what you get... for that, at least. Anyways, name's Arcadia! I just moved here, so I don't mind getting to know more people. And how about you, Mr. Not-Too-Shabby Hair?"
"If you mean my name, it's Kiran. Or if you mean 'is your super-cool hair also natural,' then yes. Yes, it is," the guy says. "Or if you mean whether I like getting to know new people, then yeah. As long as they're interesting. And you have certainly caught my interest."
"Ha! Don't get ahead of yourself, Mr. Kiran! But gotta say, I'm liking the bold approach. If I've still got your interest so bad, we should swap numbers; I need to keep building my army of partners in crime anyways."
"Crime, huh? Well, I don't mean to brag too hard, but I got picked up by the cops just yesterday for busting into an abandoned house." He scribbles his number on a scrap of paper and hands it to you with a flourish. "Yeah, I got some friends on the inside, though. Got off with a stern talking to."
Arcadia whistles at Kiran's talk. "Whoa, big talk just for doing a number on some random place. I guess Occult club was the right call today though. Anyways..." Arcadia takes out a deck of cards and a pen, and removes one card (the Ace of Hearts) to write her number on. "And... here... it... is!" Arcadia finishes, handing her number to Kiran. "I hope you're not all talk, y'know. I got places to get going to, but I bet we'll be seeing more of each other soon. Catch ya later, mafioso!" Arcadia turns and heads off.
"Ace of hearts, huh? Looks like time know me pretty well already." Kiran gives a wave as she leaves.
Got Arcadia's number!
Everyone else left while the were chatting...

Guess what? Buttons is actually the only NPC who isn't busy.
Kiran gives Buttons a call and asks if he wants to study together. "Well I was going to... eh, sure. I've got some homework that needs doing. I'll be over after dinner."
...Of course it would be after dinner. He's had Kiran's cooking.
Buttons comes over and Dogachu bounds over to him. "Hey, Pooch. Been a while, huh?"
Dogachu wags.
Buttons and Kiran buckle down and start to study. An hour later, Kiran can't help but groan. He's so bo-o-o-o-ored.

"Would you like to play a game?" Kiran asks in a scratchy voice.
"We're not playing games, we're studying. And if you're you're quoting that ****ty horror movie, it's-"
"No, I just want you to quiz me."
"Oh, makes sense. I guess the point was to study together. Alright."
Kiran and Butts take turns quizzing each other.
Kiran gains a point of Knowledge!
After they finish studying for the night, Butts heads home and Kiran heads to bed. Tia's still not back yet, huh... Well, she's a big girl. She got home by herself yesterday, and Kiran told her how to call the police to help. And Kiran doesn't have a way to reach her, besides. He realizes he should probably get her a cell phone or something...

Oh. That's Somnis' voice. She sounds angry. Very angry. The whole 'strangling and slamming' him thing kind of confirms that theory. She also smells like... smoke?
"KIRAN!" Slam. "Why!" Slam. "Did!" Slam. "You!" Slam. "Tell!" Slam. "Them!" Slam. "About!" Slam. "Tia!" Slam.
"I - hrk - I only told Natsumi! We trust Natsumi! ...Right? And she said she needed to tell Tia something..."
"Mercia overheard you and found her, you idiot! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT IN THE MALL!?"
"S-Somnis... You're really scaring me..." Kiran says.
"...Sorry, Kiran. I'm just... I'm really scared myself. And for Tia." She groans. "Look... Ugh. We'll talk tomorrow, OK? You're going to make this up to me by helping with a mission in the otherworld tomorrow. Go back to sleep."
"Um... OK? You could have just... told me tomorrow... instead of... Nevermind. Goodnight!"

Kiran dreams of a big, black dragon sitting on the lip of a canyon.
It's asleep.
Far below, he can make out a lake of lava with a giant hourglass-looking crystal. The top seems to be filled with lava. Magma? Lava. Or... magma...? Either way, it seems to be leaking into the bottom - hey, it really is an hourglass! Maybe it's counting down to wake up the dragon or something?
...The dragon isn't doing much...

Kiran gets woken up by Somnis, but she doesn't stick around to wait for him today. She takes Tia to school while Kiran's still getting ready. "I'm going to watch over Tia today. Meet me at the beach tonight. We're going to the otherworld. And I'll tell Natty, Buttons, Fox, and Katie!" she calls into the bathroom while he's showering.
"Oh... OK," Kiran calls back.
At school, there's an early-morning announcement. Mattea's voice comes on. She sounds... upset.
"Hello, everyone. This is your new president, Mattea. Um... Yeah. I know I wasn't supposed to take over officially until Monday, but... yeah. Our second announcement. The former president, Alice Ekantha, is... in the... hospital this morning." Mattea sniffles. "She was injured in a freak accident, but is... ah... expected to make a full recovery. Everyone send your best wishes and keep her in your thoughts today. Um... Yeah. And Trivia club will... not be meeting today until... a temporary replacement is... found. Yeah. That's all."
The PA falls silent.
Obviously Alice's injury is much-discussed today. But people are also spreading rumors about Laura being absent. Some even say the two are connected.
Somnis wants to meet in the otherworld tonight, huh? Maybe he should let some of the others know... But what to do until then?
