Violetta
The city is quiet as the moon shines down. A lone figure stands on the rooftops, her witch hat looking nearly iconic against the moonlight. She walks along, calmly, watching the world below her. A broom is held in her right hand, twirled around in boredom.
A short moment later, a silhouette of a cat jumps up next to her. She reaches down and retrieves a bottle from its mouth. "Good kitty." A glint can be seen in Violetta's eyes as her shadow cat dissipates into the air. She places the bottle of newly stolen dust in her back pocket and looks off in the distance. Flashing lights. "The cops already...? Geez. Can't get away with anything in this town." She hops off the side of the building, throwing her broom down to her feet and kicking a switch. The back suddenly springs to life with a rocket as she rides off through the night, surfing on her broom.
Violetta's thoughts drift to tomorrow.
Am I really ready for the initiation test tomorrow? I want to make mom and dad proud, but...No, I can't doubt myself now. Besides, I'll be fine with this new dust...
Spearah
Another wonderful morning for another wonderful day! The sun's up and the birds are singing! Today is a special day!
Spearah heads outside her house, greeting the day with a smile. In her hands she carries a special gift for her friends. Pancakes! It's well known that Spearah's pancakes are the best. So sweet and fluffy. She heads along the path, humming. Her axes sit at both sides of her waist. She's ready!
I wonder what it will be like...? This will be simply wonderful! I sure hope Fenrir isn't sleeping in again.
Walking up to her friends' house, she carefully reaches forward and pokes the doorbell. Unsurprisingly, the door opens to reveal a faunus woman. "Good morning, Mrs. Bluefang!" Spearah performs a small bow and smiles.
The woman returns the smile. "Hello, Spearah. I'm assuming you came here for Fenrir and Pannes? Today is the day you head off for the initiation test, isn't it?"
She nods. "That would be correct! I brought them a present!" Spearah holds out the pancakes in her hands.
"I'm sure they'll be very excited." She turns and calls out into the house. "Fenrir! Pannes! Spearah is here to see you both. She brought her pancakes!"
Fenrir
Sleep is good. There's no denying that. Fenrir likes sleep.
But right now it sounds like someone's calling for him. Fenrir grumbles a bit before rolling over in bed and plopping a pillow over his head. Just...five more minutes. What's so important anyway...?

Pannes
Pannes leans out from behind a wall. "Oh. Um. Hello, Spearah! I didn't expect you... to... I-I'll go get Fenrir!" She disappears as quickly as she appeared and quickly strides to her step-brother's room.
She knocks on his door softly. "Fen? Fen, it's time to get ready..." She says just as gently. She can say she tried knocking. She pushes open the door as quietly as possible, crouches down, and springs into the air to body slam him. "Bro-o-o-o!" Cinnabre
Cinnabre polishes his armor for the third time today. It's one of his rare days off from training, but he hardly has time to enjoy it. He's too busy getting ready for his initiation test tomorrow. He finishes polishing his armor, makes sure all the straps and whatnot are in working order. Then he moves back to his weapon. Again. Ammunition is ready, barrel's clean, the head is... it needs more sharpening. And there's a scratch on his shield that needs more buffing. And his weapon sling needs the be shined...
His father walks in and nods approvingly. "Good. Appearances are important for a good first impression. Don't stay up too late, though. Your performance and second opinion are even more important."
"Yes, sir." Cinnabre doesn't look up from his work.
His father pauses awkwardly. "And, uh... don't forget to call your mother once you get put on a team."
"Yes, sir!"
His father scratches his head. He isn't really good at this sort of thing. "And, uh... Yeah. Good luck. Not that you'll... need it. You'll be, uh, fine." Magnus
Magnus lounges on the cot in his cell. He absentmindedly flips a yo-yo up and down as he stares up at out the window. Not one of his yo-yos, of course. Those were all confiscated. Until tomorrow, at least. He wonders if there'll be a chance to run off. Then he wonders if he even wants to. He had to choose between a few years in here or heading off to some fancy-pants boarding school to learn how to be one of those hunters... Not exactly his first choice of career, but it's not like he really had any better prospects.
"Pssst. Pssssssssst. Mags!" A voice from below the window draws his attention.
Magnus sits up and looks out. Four of the other kids from his little gang of miscreants are waiting outside. He knows all of these ones would've had to sneak out from their homes. He never liked these four. This was always just a game to them, not a way of life. He still fakes a friendly greeting. "Evenin', gents. Strange place for a midnight stroll."
"We're here to bust you out, Mags!" one of the dumber ones calls up. "Just tell us what you need us to do!"
Magnus thinks for a moment. "Alright, here's the plan. I'm gonna need a pinch of dust - any kind'll do. Leave it in the usual place. And three chairs. Wooden. Stack them up outside the window in the morning. Then you'll need to walk into the main lobby tomorrow morning. Make a distraction. Bring some pots and bang them together while shouting about how the cops are morons, that oughtta work good. Then scatter! And make sure you start at 10AM sharp. Not 10:01, not 9:59. Exactly 10. Oh, yeah, and warn the others to lay low for a few days. Get on it, now. Quicklike."
"...OK, got it!" The largest of the kids is first to run off, two others hot on his heels.
The last lingers a bit. "You're not coming back, are you?"
That one always was sharp. "Nah. Shuttle leaves way before then. Think I'll give the whole 'honest living' thing a stab for a bit, yeah? Keep it under yer hat. And maybe don't join them making idiots of themselves tomorrow."
"...Yeah. Take care, Mags." Glendova
The ocean laps against Glendova's webbed toes again. She sighs, fighting the urge to run and dive in. Instead she shifts back a few more inches. She's waiting for a ferry to collect her and a few other students from the outlying islands. That'll take them to the mainland where they'll take an airship to their new school.
Glendova considers just swimming to the mainland. It's not like she's inexperienced fighting aquatic GRIMM. Even in the open ocean, there's nothing she can't outfight or outrun - so long as she stays above the abyss, anyway. She stands up and takes off her overshirt to reveal a bikini top and gills on her neck. She takes a few steps towards the water's edge, the glowing tendril sprouting from her head bobbing awkwardly on dry land.
"Don't do it, Glen." Glendova stops and turns to see her younger sister, Orna, standing behind her.
"...I wasn't gonna..." Glendova mutters.
"They probably wouldn't appreciate you dripping all over their fancy-schmancy airship," Orna points out. "Mom sent me to make sure you didn't do anything silly. And to remind you to wear your tank top. Also, she wanted me to bring you an extra case of moisturizer. Just in case."
"Oh. Thanks."
"Hey, look! Is that the ferry?" Orna points to the horizon.
"Mmm... Yep." Glendova takes a few more steps, intending to swim out to meet the ship. Her sister grabs her hand and stops her. Orna makes sure she gets loaded onto the ferry still dry, then stands on the shore waving goodbye.

---Zuri---
Zuri was looking through the window of the transport helicopter he was in, thinking about how he made it here... Slakam back on Glakos Island wasn't the richest area around, so they had to stick with buses to reach Pryktus and Lighthouse academy, while Aquos had submarines. These buses were really crowded. Zuri didn't mind it though, he had a lot of people to talk to. He considers he already had friends. His luck ran out though... When he made it to Lighthouse Academy, it seems they weren't taking any more student applications... Zuri had to be transferred to Beacon. He was put into an helicopter and left off. They told him he'd arrive right before the initiation and that there would be place for him there.
Zuri didn't like that... He didn't have time to contact his family. Sure, now that he's gonna be on another island, there's no way he's gonna work for the Kasper Corps mines, but still, his family is surely gonna wonder where he left off...
The wolf faunus looked back at the green-haired girl reading a book, inside the helicopter. Seems like he's not the only transfer student. He tried talking to her... She clearly wasn't willing to make friends. Zuri hoped he would make friends at the academy... Because he wouldn't have time to do so before the initiation... Not being able to get his bearings. That scared him. The helicopter was starting to fly down. This was it... Zuri scratched his ear, verified his weapon one last time and wondered if he was truly ready.
---Wu Barry---
Wu was looking through his stuff in his room. Making sure he was ready. He verified twice already, but what else did he have to do. He couldn't sleep. The initiation was tomorrow. He was excited about it. Still, he had to make sure he wasn't missing anything. REALLY make sure. Food, dust, lien, clothes... He had everything he needed and more. He already had clothes for the inevitable ball. After his third verification, the blue haired young man locked his special backpack. His personal space was important. No way anyone would put their hand in his backpack without his permission... That is why he added locks to it. Somebody knocked on his door...
"Enter"
His father. Spencer Blackflag. Wu Barry was terrified of him more than any other GRIMM and he wasn't the only one to think so. This man with a strong black beard was rumored to have killed anything that attacked his exploration ship in gruesome ways. GRIMM or human. Wu saw this first-hand. He knew that all the rumors were true. His father wasn't evil, but he had no pity for his enemies. He looked at his son with intimidating black eyes, which pierces the soul.
"Are you ready Wu Barry? I don't want you to make a fool out of our name tomorrow."
"Dad, you know very well I am ready. You brought me on many of your expeditions. I already have combat experiences... Both against GRIMM and criminals... I probably know more than the teachers."
Wu Barry knew that last statement was a mistake. He saw his father get angry.
"Listen to me, boy. You are no huntsman, understand? You're still just a kid. I have a crew on my ship. Not only you. You know how to fight in a crew. You don't know how to fight on your own. Or only with 3 teamates by your side. I passed through the academy. My father passed through the academy. His father passed through the academy. You will pass through the academy. Understood?"
"Yes father."
"Good. Now, you verify you have everything."
"I did... Thrice..."
"Verify again."
"Yes father."
Spencer closed the door behind him. Wu lets himself fall down on the ground. He unlocked his backpack and verified everything again...

--Clayton--
Carmine did it, so you can too.
Clayton kept thinking to himself during his trek towards Beacon. For the past few weeks he had been walking in the wilderness, kicked out of his home, and as a result, he had some serious issues with his hygiene. His hair was matted and full of debris, his pants ripped and torn, and he stank like a den of skunks.
Granted, this didn't matter to him much at the time. Sure, it was unpleasant, but what else could he do? Hopefully Vale had some public showers or something. The teachers at Beacon probably don't appreciate rancid students.
He knew he was almost there, unless he was reading his map incorrectly. Just a day's worth of walking, just in time for the initiation exam.

Fenrir
"Oof!" One loud crash later, Fenrir finds himself body slammed out of his bed and into the floor. "...Ow..." Standing up, Fenrir scratches his head and mumbles a few complaints before groggily looking over at Pannes. "Pannes...Why...Oh, right. Initiation test or...something." Fenrir yawns and stumbles his way out of the room, heading toward the living room where Spearah and his mother Auburn sat. They seem to have been conversing about...something.
Spearah looks up, seeing her friends. "Good morning, Fenrir! I've made sure to bring you both a gift!"
Fenrir stares at her silently for a moment. "...Why?"
"Because you told me not to trip over that tree root yesterday! I was very impressed with your generosity and decided it was worthy of a gift!"
Fenrir nearly questions her again, but notices the gift is pancakes. He very quickly shuts his mouth and shovels forkfuls of pancakes into it instead. Auburn sighs a bit. "Fenrir...Are you sure you're going to be alright at Beacon? You're going to have to wake up early for your classes you know."
Fenrir shrugs as he places an entire pancake into his mouth.
I don't really care about the classes there. I don't even care about being a Huntsman that much. I just want to keep Pannes safe. Why exactly did she want to become a Huntress...?
Fenrir gulps down a mouthful of food and then looks over at Pannes. Spearah speaks before he can. "I wouldn't worry too much about Fenrir. He may be sleepy and eat like a hungry GRIMM, but he's one of the most dependable people I know. Besides, it will be so much fun for us all to go to the same school together! Maybe we can all be on the same team."
Auburn smiles with concern. "I'm glad you're all excited, but this is serious business. Working as a Huntsman can be very dangerous."
"...Why do you want to be a Huntress anyway...?" Fenrir lets the question that's been lingering in his mind slip out of his mouth.
Joanne
The sea breeze blows through Joanne's hair, causing it to wave in the wind as she holds onto her hat. The ocean's salty spray is the perfect way to start the day. Adventure seems to be on the horizon. New challenges, new faces, new rivals. Joanne wouldn't let anything stand in her way. Especially not her rival. That Cinnabre is probably already on his way toward Beacon in his fancy airship. Well ha! HA she says! She hasn't taken an airship AND she's going to be there early. Joanne is proud of her abilities, standing at the front of the ship with her hands on her hips. Her internal monologue is stopped as a sudden cold chill moves down her spine. Turning instinctively, she notices an odd faunus with red eyes. He seems to be...staring at her.
Joanne looks around to make sure he really is staring at her before responding. "Can I help you?"
"...No." Anubis doesn't break eye contact. There's an odd aura about this woman. He feels there's something important in her. "...I'm simply observing."
"Simply observ-? Okay, you can just move along, creep. I don't have time for you."
"I did not mean you." Anubis points past her.
Joanne turns and sees what looks like the academy coming closer and closer from the distance. "Ah! Land! At long last, I will be able to take down my rivals! Ha! Ha ha!" Joanne turns dramatically to see that her audience member has disappeared.
...What a weirdo.

---Oceania---
Oceania was looking at her watch. That helicopter ride went on forever... That wolf faunus guy was bothering her. Zuri his name was. She just wanted a quiet ride where she could read her books. Unfortunately, the ride was long enough for her to get tired of reading books... and she never gets tired of reading books.
Beacon is supposed to have the best academy or something. She hoped there was truth in that statement, otherwise that trek in the sky would have been for nothing. She started putting her books away in her backpack when the academy suddenly came in sight. Zuri obviously got excited.
"Hey! Look at that, we're here."
Oceania looked at her watch again before responding.
"About time..."
"Aren't you happy about this?"
"I'll be happy when the initiation is done."
"I see..."
An awkward silence elongated itself until the helicopter landed in Vale. She was finally free to move her legs a little. She sat for hours. Zuri ran into town, waving at her.
"See you around... Hum... Lady..."
Oceania nodded as the wolf faunus disappeared into town. Initiation was tomorrow. That wasn't a lot of time to prepare, but she didn't really need preparation. What's the point in preparing for something you have no data on? She already had dust, that was enough. She started exploring town, trying to avoid any social interaction. Zuri seemed to do the exact opposite: talk to as much random people as possible.
"That guy is trying to go too fast..."
She continued trying to get her bearings. It was essential if she was gonna stay in Vale.
---Coralia---
A really weird sight came upon the port of Vale. Boats dropping people off at the port was completely normal. A lone girl crossing the ocean in a canoe was completely abnormal. Everyone gathered to watch this scene, as they didn't believe their eyes. When the girl wearing a cap finally reached a dock, they couldn't do anything more than start to trust their senses. She jumped on the wooden dock, her ponytail rising upwards, than falling back down.
"Hello everyone! Coralia is in the place! That is right, I took my favorite canoe from my home and paddled all the way to Vale. I come from a port town called Sirene; my family are all fishermen. This includes my father, Dagol, my mother Selke and of course, my brother Leukose. I'm really good at beating up marine GRIMM, you see? But ground GRIMM? Hey, I want that knowledge. So I left home, because we have no academy in Sirene. We just learn things on the go, you know? But, yeah, as I said, I'm really good at beating marine GRIMM up. In fact, I was attacked by a Sea Dragon on my way here! You know, those giant black serpents that shoot electricity or whatever? That's right, I looked it right in the eyes and told him: "Yo, there's no way you're ruining my favorite canoe. I'm making it to Vale no matter what you're trying!". So I did the whole Hook, Line and Sinker thing, then swinged that beast into a rock, destroying it in one hit. Then I realised how a drama queen I was, since that guy was just a teeny weeny Sea Dragon. Probably a youngling heh? And then I started paddling again! I'd do it again and I'm still full of energy! Now I have to reach the academy for the ini..."
Coralia suddenly realised that everyone scattered and she was left alone on the dock.
"Oh boy! Thanks for listening to my story! I have way more where that came from! Now I gotta run off, because tomorrow is the initiation! I'm sure I'll have a good talk with some of those GRIMM!"
The pink-haired energetic girl ran into town, telling her story to anyone she crossed, wether they liked it or not.

Pannes
Pannes cuts up a pancake and eats it calmly. Maybe even a bit nervously. Fenrir asks her a question just after she takes a bite. Oh, no. This is... this is the worst thing that could happen. Now everyone's staring at her and waiting for her to answer and her mouth is full of delicious pancake. She couldn't speak with her mouth full of the fluffy goodness even if she could bring herself to break that sort of decorum in front of Spearah. She tries to chew as fast as she can but that just makes it worse. She starts blushing and almost looks like she's on the verge of tears.
Finally, she's able to swallow. "Um... W-well, that is... People... don't... I mean, n-not you, Spearah, but... some people... y'know... don't really like... faunus..." She nervously taps her forefingers together while looking down. "But... people r-really respect hunters, so... um... Maybe if there were more... faunus hunters..." Her voice drops to a whisper not even Fenrir can hear.

Fenrir
"..."
???????????????????????????????
Fenrir sits in silence with his head clouded in confusion. He doesn't let anyone know he has no idea what Pannes just said. Instead, he responds by saying, "Okay."
Spearah seems happy that Pannes responded in the first place. "That's wonderful! I have no idea what you were saying, but I'm sure it was wonderful!"
"Spearah...Sometimes I really don't understand you."
Spearah hums to herself while collecting up the dishes from breakfast. She then heads off to clean them up. Auburn takes this time to speak to her children. "Fenrir. Pannes. I understand your wishes and I fully support you. I just...want you to be careful, alright? This job can be a little...dangerous. Just please promise me you'll look after each other. Okay?"
Fenrir nods. "Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to Pannes. Besides, I can handle a few GRIMM."
"It's not the GRIMM I'm worried about..." Auburn looks down for a short moment.
Spearah returns from the kitchen. "Alriiiiight~! Who's ready to head out? The initiation is sure to happen soon~! We should get going." Pushing her friends excitedly out the door, Spearah stops halfway out and grabs Fenrir's chain blasters from the counter.
Auburn stands at the door, waving to them. "Good luck! Stay safe!"
Orus
Perched atop a tall tower among the school grounds, Orus watches the crowds of people gather. He always preferred a bird's eye view of things. He stood silent. Watching. Waiting.
I know Niteo is among those that will be joining this school. That woman told me. I will find and destroy him...
Orus' gaze intensified.
So why can I not find him? This is infuriating.
He continued to stand there, impatiently sharpening his hunting knives. "I will find him..."

Clayton strolled out of the homeless shelter, clean as he could be. While still not presentable by most standards, one could at least see his hair instead of a tangled mess of mud and twigs, though that also meant that everyone could clearly see he was a Faunus.
Though their gazes, be it of pity, disgust, or some other emotion, were not of concern to him, and neither was that weirdo he could see perched on a rooftop.
Okay, just me, that tower, and this really long road. And that weirdo, and jeez is that distracting. Like, who does that? Why would anyone do that? Wait, should I call the police? Are there even any public phones around here?
Nah, nevermind.
It's probably just another brooding teenager student. From what Carmine wrote, it seemed every freshman at Haven was either cheery, edgy, apathetic, or anxious. Beacon's probably the same.

The day before their initiation test to Beacon Academy in the kingdom of Vale, two brothers ride aboard a somewhat luxurious ship, overlooking a scenic view of the ocean.
"Hey Raj, put down that book and come watch the sunset with me, bro!"
Navy walks away from the large window in the side of the ship to a nice dining table ehere his brother is sitting, and takes a seat across from him.
Raj sighs, and looks up at his brother to meet his eyes. "Our initiation test is tomorrow, Navy. The best way to prepare is to study."
Navy smirks, leaning back in his chair and threatening to fall over. "What's there to study anyways? Besides, we're ready. We'll do fine! We trained for so long and worked so hard for this, bro. And our tutors weren't exactly some third-rate huntsman."
Raj sighs. "I'm studying different types of GRIMM and some records on past initiations. And even so, we can always be more prepared. It's dangerous. I know we've fought GRIMM before, but we could be facing a lot worse than some Ursa and Beowulves."
"Come on bro, r-relax. We should be well-rested for tomorro-" Navy chair gives way and he falls back flat on his back.
His smile fades and he frowns. "Ow."
Raj sighs, gets up, and offers him a hand. Navy accepts and his smile returns. "See? It's stunts like that, that could get you killed on the battlefield. I still think Mom and Dad were right."
Navy smirks and shrugs it off. "Ah, it's fine. We're unstoppable together bro."
Navy makes his way back towards the window where the sun has all but vanished beneath the water's horizon. "And that's another reason we should just chill tonight. Who's to say we'll be on the same team and get to hang out all the time anymore?" Navy says, a tinge a sadness in his voice that not mnay would notice.
In the end, Raj humored his brother and they messed around until they both went to bed to rest up for the next day when they arrived and the test began.

Niteo
Running into the school in a panic, Niteo pushes his way through crowds of students.
How could I be late on the first day!?
He eventually finds his way over to what looks like a professor. "Excuse me! Can you help me?"
Seemingly busy, she looks up from her scroll. It's then she speaks into her scroll once again. "Yes, I believe I just found the missing student..." She then looks up back at him, sternly. "You will need a good explanation for this." She was rather intimidating. She was tall and strong looking. She wore a professional looking white uniform with metal armor on her shoulders and across her chest. Her blonde hair was kept back in a bun.
"S-Sorry. I was attacked by a GRIMM on the way here. I swear I didn't forget and I wasn't just sleeping in!" Niteo pleads for her to help him. "Please! You gotta help me out! Uh...Where is everyone by the way?"
Letting out an annoyed sigh, the professor continues. "It seems you are honest. Very well. I can take you to the initiation test."
"It's uh...not here?"
"Had you been here on time, you would have traveled with them all to the Crystal Caverns! Luckily, I believe I have a way to get you there in time..."
Niteo's face lights up. "Really? Thank you so much, ma'am!"
"You may call me Professor Wisom, young man!" She slams a spear that appears to have come out of nowhere into the ground.
"Y-Yes, Professor! So uh...How do you plan on getting me there...?"
A smile begins to creep its way onto Professor Wisom's face as she stares at Niteo.
Violetta
Standing around, arms crossed, Violetta finds herself standing inside what seems to be a large capsule. She leans slightly to one side, getting a little impatient as she listens to the headmaster talk. "This Vermillion guy just goes on forever. Can't we just fight our enemies already...?"
"...Remember! Each and every one of you will need to bring at least one crystal back in order to get accepted into this school! I have faith that all of you are capable of that." A man wearing a red and gold suit stands on a small stage, speaking to all the students within capsules around him. One of the sleeves seems to be made entirely of red feathers and a single plume can be seen in his hair. For some reason, this guy seems to be wearing blue eye liner around his green eyes. It would be weird...if it didn't look so damn good on him. It's a little reminiscent of a peacock. It looks like everyone's about to be sent off into their trial.
Hmm. These capsules. We must be standing in them because they're going to launch us off somewhere! It's the only logical explanation.
"...And with that, I wish you all the best of luck on your test!"
FINALLY! Now just to brace for being launched u-
"UUAAAHHHHHHH!"
Violetta is taken by surprise as the bottom of her capsule drops out from under her. She quickly tumbles into the darkness below in the same way as the other students around her do.
Headmaster Vermillion calmly looks up as he hears what sounds like shouting. From above, a potential student is flung down into one of the capsules, shattering it as he crashes through the tunnel beneath it. Vermillion notices Professor Wisom flying in a helicopter above him. She waves as he sighs. "What have I told you about throwing our students out of flying vehicles...?"
Fenrir
Sliding down one of the dark tunnels, Fenrir rolls out gracefully into the cavern, getting to his feet and taking a quick look around. Thanks to his natural abilities as a faunus, he was capable of seeing in the dark without issue. Most faunus could, after all. Hopefully this aspect of the challenge would weed out more humans...
Fenrir shakes his head. No time for thoughts on such things. Right now he needed to find Pannes! He promised to watch after her. Wasting no time, Fenrir charges off down through the tunnels.
Joanne
Landing with a pose, Joanne lets out an excited cry. "HA! Now to find those crystals!" Unhindered by the darkness, Joanne surrounds herself in crackling electricity that lights up the area around her. She calmly walks along. "Hmph. Did they really expect a little darkness to keep me down? This will be a piece of cake."
Spearah
Sliding down into her own cavern, Spearah paused for a moment, still sitting on the ground. "Hm..." She looked around in the darkness a bit more. "Hmmmmmmm..." She then checks her sides, making sure she still had her axes on hand. "Hm. Yes. I cannot see anything."
"...Oh well! I suppose I'll just wait here until someone finds me."
Anubis
Entering the caverns, Anubis calmly continues through. As he continues forward, a thought comes to mind.
Will my glowing, red eyes be mistaken for as a GRIMM in this darkness...?
Orus
"I HATE BEING UNDERGROUND!" Orus kicks a nearby rock before jumping back in pain and grabbing his foot. "Ah, crap! Ow..."
He pauses and looks around. "There's got to be someone else in these caves somewhere. Maybe they can see..." Sucking in as much air as he could, Orus decided to result to the best tactic he could think of. "HEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Shouting for help.

FELDGRAU
Feld shot out of a tube and onto the ground, landing face first a couple of yards away from the exit of said tube. Dragging himself up and dusting off, Feld took out his trusty rifle. With a sly grin on his face, he turned on the flamethrower mode. Looking at the pillar of fire manifesting in front of him, he proceeded to march east, looking for one of those crystals.
RAZZMATAZZ
Razz immediately jumped up, and ran in a random direction. She’s sort of unconscious on the floor now.

Navy sticks the landing, a wide smile on his face.
"That was awesome! I wanna do it again. What'd you think Raj?" Navy says without thinking.
Oh yeah, Raj isn't with him... Oh well, maybe he'll run into him later.
--Raj--
Raj lands with a thud, rolling on the ground no-so-gracefully.
"That was horrible..." he says, getting up and dusting himself off. He readies his weapon with a gulp.
Gotta find Navy now...

Cinnabre
Cinnabre climbs into his capsule. He's surprised how easily he and all his gear fits. They must not be strangers to recruits with seriously large weapons. He listens to the instructions carefully. Crystals, huh? So these pod things must be... elevators. Interesting. He's expecting a calm, slow descent when suddenly the floor drops out. "...Muh?" He goes tumbling down, armor clanging loudly. He ends with a loud gong-like THUD that reverberates throughout the area. "...Ow."
He picks himself up and looks around the area. Or tries to before realizing it's pitch black. "Great... Um... What am I supposed to do here...?" He tries feeling around with his halberd pole. "Well... Not that I could fight like this, but I guess I at least won't walk off a cliff..." He starts cautiously walking through the darkness. Glendova
This darkness isn't any trouble for Glen. It's no darker than the abyss. The glowing bulb on her head illuminates a few feet around her, a bit more than a trident-thrust's worth, which is all she really needs. The air here sucks, though. It's so dry, almost painful to breathe. She feels like she's drying out. And so heavy.
It looks like some of her spare nets came loose when she landed. Need to figure out how to store these better for fighting on land, huh. She starts crawling around and searching for the missing heads. Why can't the test be in a lake or something...?
As she finishes up, she hears something coming. Peering into the darkness, she spots the form of a tall-ish male student, a few inches taller than her gangly form. He's really hard to see with his dark shirt and hair, but he seems to have some kind of non-human ears poking out of his head. Glen picks herself up and dusts herself off. "...Um. Hi." Magnus
"Never saw that comin'. Jeez." Magnus stands up and smacks the dirt off his butt. There's a loud call for help ringing out from somewhere nearby. "Ah, c'mon. I can't see, neither."
He whips out a half-dozen yo-yos and gets them rolling along the ground. Up and down... He listens and feels for them to skitter and bounce off any rocks and whatnot. "Oi, I'm comin', I'm comin'..." he calls to the darkness and sets off towards whoever it was that was screaming. Pannes
Despite screaming and freaking out as she falls, Pannes pulls off a perfectly graceful landing. "Oh... Oh, um... Oh. Oh, deer. Oh, it's so dark. Oh, I didn't... oh... OK. I've... Oh, deer." She taps her staff on the ground and listens for the echo. "OK, OK. Gotta... Um... Bro's... Oh, deer, poor Spearah probably... Ah! Stop, Pannes, stop. Calm down. Deep breath. If you're going to be a huntress, you can't let something like this stop you. OK. So... Wait for your eyes to adjust... then... go... um... This way?" She picks a random direction and starts walking. She can hear noises echoing far into the distance...

--Clayton--
Well, this was life now. Clayton was in his pod.
He just sorta showed up and they assumed he was enrolled. Convenient, but a little sketchy. If Beacon doesn't bother to confirm its students during initiation, what else don't they bother with?
He heard the little speech the headmaster gave and braced himself, only to find that there was no ground beneath him anymore.
Clayton plummeted deep into the earth, and tried to catch himself on the first surface he could actually see, only for it to crumble and give way, causing him to land arm-first on the floor below.
His Faunus night vision helped somewhat in the cave, but he could only just barely make out the walls and a silhouette in the distance.

Fenrir
Charging through the caves, Fenrir suddenly stops as a glowing faunus pops up suddenly in his path from the ground. Before he can do anything, their eyes meet and she greets him. Fenrir immediately smacks the palm of his hand to his forehead. "You're not Pannes..."
I was supposed to find Pannes so we could be on the same team.
Fenrir sighs. "At least you're a faunus." He then looks down the corridor and points past her. "We need to keep moving. I have to find my sister."
Orus
Pausing a moment after shouting loudly, Orus hears the sound of scratching nearby. Something's hitting the rocks. Naturally, Orus reaches for his knives, getting into a defensive stance. Squinting in the dark, he makes out a humanoid figure. "Is...someone there?"
Another student...? Not Niteo. He's not wearing that stupid mask.
Orus relaxes a bit, lowering his knives. "I guess this means we're partnered together. Do you have a way of seeing through this?"
Anubis
Walking through the cavern at his own pace, Anubis notices another student heading in his direction. He looks...scared. A human wearing a dark coat and glasses. Anubis stares at him silently, his red eyes glowing in the dark.
I suppose this is my partner. Although it matters not who I'm paired with. Balance will be restored either way.
Anubis looks past Raj, at something more interesting. "Behind you."
Joanne
Continuing to walk along, Joanne soon comes across what appears to be another student taking the test. Still surrounded in electricity for light, she waves to him. "Hey, are you lost?" Walking closer, she soon sees that the figure is none other than...!
"My rival!?" Joanne stares a moment in shock before reaching for Crossbones. "I was waiting for this moment! Now then...we duel, rival!" She steps back, pointing her weapon at him.

Violetta
Finding herself pitted against a mole GRIMM with a huge drill on its nose, Violetta evades a swipe of its sharp claws with a roll to the side. Her flaming shadow cat, enfused with dust so she can see in the dark, leaps up above the claw and jumps on Violetta's shoulder. "Alright, let's see how you like this."
Throwing her broom at the mole, it hits the face, quickly firing a shot that recoils it back into her hands, where Violetta blocks another claw swipe from the mole. It lets out a roar as the drill on its nose begins to rapidly rotate. "Ohcrapohcrapohcrap" Violetta reaches into her back pocket and throws forward a crystal of fire dust. As the mole charges forward at her, she swings her metal broom at the crystal, slamming it into the mole as the two make contact with each other.
BOOM!
One loud explosion later, Violetta blasts her way into another tunnel, launching the defeated mole GRIMM through as it dissolves. "Woo!" She walks through, grinning, as her cat walks alongside her. Among the light, she notices someone else in here. A faunus. She waves to him. "Hey! I guess you're my partner now, right?"

---Wu Barry---
Wu was attentive to the headmaster's speech, but he couldn't really nod or acknowledge anything in that pod. As soon as the pod opened under him, Wu tried to fall on his backpack to minimize the impact.
The blue-haired man stood up, then remembered there was dust in his backpack. He immediately threw away his bag. Transporting broken dust vials wasn't a good idea. He looked as his backpack caught fire.
"Well... What's the point in preparation heh?"
Wu Barry looked around.
"Okay... Cavern... I'm not seeing anything, but I haven't seen any GRIMM that walks on ceilings... And I can't fall in an unseen pit if I'm not on the ground."
Wu walks towards the cave's ceiling using his semblance. A subtle dark blue aura surrounds him. He licks his finger, then put it in the air to feel any wind coming in.
"Well... My objective is not to find an exit..."
Wu goes in the opposite direction to the wind, going deeper into the caves. All while walking on the ceiling, weapon in hand.
---Zuri---
Zuri feels like something's wrong as the headmaster finishes his speech. He was right, as the floor under him disappears. Thankfully, Zuri felt it coming, so he fell on his feet.
"Undergroud heh? That's my territory."
Of course, a family of miner would have a natural night vision. The wolf faunus walked the tunnel, wondering why he humans were looking at him weird yesterday. Eventually, Zuri reached a crossroad.
"Yeah... No... I'm always moving forward."
Zuri transformed his pickaxe into a drill and started to drill through the wall. It might be noisy, but that was the best way not to get lost in unknown tunnels.
---Coralia---
Coralia had nothing, except her weapon. As the floor opened under her, she just fell flat on her face.
"Hey man! That's no way to treat a lady! You're not very considerate for an headmaster. I thought you were supposed to be the wisest of the bunch. My father is wiser than you. He teached me respect and you're probably not hearing me are you?"
Coralia looked around. Everything was dark.
"HEY! ANYONE HEAR ME? MY NAME IS CORALIA, I AM HERE FOR MY INITIATION. I COME FROM A FAMILY OF FISHERMEN. WE FISH MARINE GRIMM TO BE PRECISE. I'M REALLY GOOD AT IT. MY WEAPON IS A BIG FISHING ROD WITH A BIG HOOK. I PUT THE HOOK IN THE GRIMM'S MOUTH, THEN SWING IT INTO THE BOAT AND THEN A GOOD PUNCH TO THE FACE DOES THE JOB. I'M HERE TO SEE IF GROUND GRIMM DOES THE SAME, YOU KNOW? PLEASE, ANSWER ME. IT'S DARK AND LONELY IN HERE. IT REMIND ME OF THE TIME WHEN WE HAD A BLACKOUT IN THE HOUSE AND..."
Something is probably hearing her shout and never shutting up. Hopefully, it's another student.
---Oceania---
Oceania looks at her watch, wondering when the initiation is gonna start. Moving her arm inside that pod is not comfortable, but she couldn't control that habit of hers. She's especially cramped thanks to her backpack, full to the brink of books and survival stuff. She always have everything she needs.
Suddenly, the floor opens under her. She just lets herself fall on her side, spitting out a disinterested "ouch".
She looks at her watch again.
"Time to get started."
She wasn't born with night vision like the majority of the faunus, even though her semblance lets her see through fog, so she always has a flashlight on her. She inserts her arm into the treasure chest she uses as a weapon to get ready to fight, then look into her backpack. She grabs her flashlight with her left hand and open it.
"I expected a forest or something... Underground... Well... How should I proceed?"
She starts moving along the tunnels with her flashlight on. Unlike Wu Barry, Oceania is using the wind tactic to find an exit. Better find one first than looking for it in a crisis.

---Zuri---
Zuri is quite happy with the tunnel he's currently doing. He continues drilling when he hears noises on his left. Something must be right on the other side. The wolf faunus looks towards the wall and contemplates drilling it when he gets the impulse to dive out of the way.
BOOM!
A GRIMM burst through the wall, into Zuri's tunnel, leaving him inside a dust cloud, unable to identify the GRIMM.
A girl's voice can be heard. He sees a silhouette wave at him. He stands up and coughs as she talks to him.
"Hey! I guess you're my partner now, right?"
"Let... Let me just get out of there okay? So I can at least see you."
Zuri walks out of the dust cloud to see a girl in purple dressed as a witch. The faunus dusts himself off and raises his hand to shake hers.
"Well... I'll be damned. Or should I say cursed? That was a really badass move you did there. My eyes are itchy, but I'm used to it.
My name is Zuri Kasper. I'll be glad to be your partner. You are?"

Violetta
Violetta returns the handshake firmly. "Violetta Dark! Sorry for almost blowing you up." She puts her hands on her hips as her flaming cat wanders around the immediate area. "Have you seen any crystals around here? I can't find those things anywhere."
