Due to the date in which this is posted, a single halloween prop was erected on the stage: a tombstone of Emppy's hope in thebigcheese's RP posting abilities. Also, the curtains were black and orange.
The members of the live-action orchestra were on strike, so the opening theme was instead placed by a metal band, and as the narrator, I am deeply disappointed that this is a written medium with no form of audio, because holy s*** that guitarist was shredding it. I can't even describe how good it is, for there is no combination of words that would do such a thing justice.
Anyway, the rest was standard fare. Anna poofed onstage in a puff of smoke, shuffling a deck of cards in her gambling suit.
"TONIGHT, THE MAILBAG OF LEGENDS CONTINUES WITH ITS SECOND SEASON!"
"We're not worthy!" declared the multi-species audience.
"That's right!" continued Anna. "This is happening, and we won't be satisfied unless this season is bigger, hotter, more invasive (questions-wise), and far far more awesome than the last! Now, I'm aware some viewers have poor memory, so let me just take a few paragraphs to go over the mostly copy-pasted rules again.
You see, in this show, we're going to take these folks..." Anna held up the deck of cards and fanned them outward to display a number of characters in card form; including Oz natives who would ordinarily have no business taking card form. "And we're going to plop them here for an interview where they must answer questions submitted by you: the audience! And since is the mailbag we're talking about, expect some hilarious hijinx to transpire as well. Anyway, once they're done here, we'll then send them right back to Oz right as they were safe and sound, with no memories of this ever happening. To put it simply, ALL EVENTS THAT TRANSPIRE IN THE OZ: MAILBAG OF LEGENDS ARE NON-CANON!
The way this works is simple: First, authors shall name off characters that they would like to nominate as a possible candidate for an episode centered around them. Anyone goes, even minor characters. Then, the nominations are listed and voted upon, with majority vote dictating which character gets the spotlight, during which they get to write a post here, in this topic, with the character's arrival on the stage. Then, other users shall send, via PM, questions for the character to whoever is presently in control of the spotlight character. The person-of-the-episode then posts the episode in whatever the current main-line episode is (in the RP topic) after a timespan of however-long-they-feel-like elapses (though take too long and the voting round happens again with their episode postponed or cancelled). After the episode ends, the process repeats itself.
The contents of the episode can be whatever the user-in-charge wants. The only rule is that the questions should be answered as in-character as possible, so feel free to make up scenarios and questions that you feel viewers would see as entertaining. You can be as straight-laced as possible, or go completely bonkers. Want to go straight to the point, or do you want a mini-storyline to go with it? Go right ahead. You can have characters in normal attire, sexy attire, cosplay attire, some bizarre LSD-was-involved attire, whatever! Think I -- the lovely Miss Anna -- am being portrayed radically different from how someone else writes me? Who cares, there's a thousand different Annas anyway! Go wild*!

Now, some of you may be wondering, 'Hey Anna, can I reference something that happened in a character's RP/CYOA of origin that hasn't been brought up in Oz?' Well the answer is... Yes. However, please be aware that not everyone is aware of the events that transpire in other works. As such, I encourage you to take steps to address this fact. Perhaps you include a short explanation of the significant events or people that are being referenced? Perhaps you address only a few of them so that 3/4s of the episode isn't talking about something ignorant viewers wouldn't understand? That is all up to the writer and question-maker. Be considerate for others.
For now though, I think that about covers the basics. Since we're starting off, we're kicking off with the Nomination Period. If you -- that is, the writers -- have a character you wish to have participate in the show, simply say their names, and they will be nominated for an episode based on them. You may also group a multiple of characters into one group; for instance, a brother-sister minor character duo, or a team of four vigilantes. Note that if you take this route, it is recommended that the group actually possess some kind of relation with each other.
After that, the Nomination Period ends and the VOTING PERIOD starts. The rules are subject to change depending on how many potential voters and nominated characters there are, but for now:
How to vote:
Rank the characters you would like to see in three ranks, with 1st place counting as three votes, 2nd counts as two votes, and 3rd counts as one vote.
For example:
1. Dillan
2. Alexa
3. Communism
Dillan would receive three votes, while Alexa would get two votes, and communism would get one vote (don't worry about the irony of voting communism in a democratic debate). Obviously, the one with the most votes will be the one who gets the next episode. Unlike last season: In the event of a tie, a 24-hour speed period will take place, where posters must give 1 vote to the tie votes. If THAT also results within a tie (because god hates you), the winner will be determined by alphabetical order of the name they're most commonly referred to as both in and out of the story (for example, Bob Vargas is mostly just called Bob in the story, so Bob would it. Meanwhile, Tom Hoffman is mostly called Mr. Hoffman, so it would be "Hoffman". For convenience's sake, aliases like "Jane Doe" will be ignored and their real names will be used, unless it is unknown). The winner will be notified via PM about their victory, and they shall write a short skit in this topic about them suddenly being transported into the show.
Also, you can't vote for your own character(s), since otherwise we would just have folks voting for their own nominations and nothing else. No nominations will be accepted during a voting period in progress. Once the voting period ends, however, they will automatically be added to the list of nominations.
This is, of course, followed by the Questioning Period, where viewers send questions to be asked in-universe by myself, Anna, to the person(s) who are having the episode's spotlight. Basically anything can be asked, though the actual contents of the answer -- if they even get asked -- is up to the person in charge of the episode. Generally, as many questions as possible should answered, but sometimes certain questions are overlooked thanks to a variety of reasons, from stupid questions to 'this episode is 6 pages long already so I think I should shave some corners' to 'spoiler alert'. Generally, the Nomination Period is also open while the episode is being composed.
After that is the Episode, where I ask the submitted questions and the characters answer in-character while possibly dealing with the wacky hijinks and comedy gold that they're very likely to be put through. After the episode is written, the nomination period ends and the voting session for the next episode begins anew.
Does that cover most of it? I sure think so! So let's stop with the boring explanations and get this party started!"
A pair of zombie hands burst out of the grave to clap along with the audience. Screaming ensued.
