As you look at the remnants of your essences, a voice calls out. External, this time. "An interesting choice of characters. My, you've used a lot of Zeal. You'll have some real hot-heads who care about things a lot, won't you?"
You try to allow the figure insight as to what one of the voices are saying, but they're all in conflict. The four you've heard audibly are silent. He's a silhouette, or more like a shape cut out of reality, behind which a swirling vortex of blue and yellow lies. "Not much Mirth. They'll be very serious, won't they? Your Quirk is relatively low too."
"Who...a-re you?"
"Did you use all of your Vile? That stuff's for extraction purposes only, did you ignore the label? My, this one's 90% Vile! 20% is about right for a relentless killer, this is just counterproductive. And their only driving force is Care, along with being from the World of Old, my they'll just be a weapon for other characters."
"I—"
"Oh, and you didn't put Vile into five different characters, did you? Well, at least you picked a good Champion. You're running late, better get a move on. Here, take these strands, and—". . . You are now Felix the Cardrian. At birth, Cardrians are assigned an area in which they will be more powerful, and are less likely to meet their end. You have the Hermit card. Ordinarily, that would mean you would be more powerful and more likely to succeed alone. However... Cardrians can choose to Invert their card when they come of age, which reverses their destiny. If you did this, you'd instead be more powerful and more likely to succeed in a group. A memory hurtles towards you, and you catch it. Suddenly, you're holding your Card again. Do you... A: Flip it upside-down? B: Leave it as it is? C: Try holding it sideways? D: Tear it up?

Flip it. I'm pretty sure I remember pumping that charisma stat UP. All my characters had pretty good determination too.

I don't remember saying anything about a kitty harem... Nope, I said it for you. No it was Crow I mean have you ever known Crow to make a bad suggestion Constantly. For example, "let's start a Paranoia campaign."

You hastily flip the card over, and it flashes blue.
Your choice has been made.
But your world wasn't all destiny-controlling and niceties.
There's a price to being from the World of Cards.
You must also select one of four weaknesses that are far more likely to lead to your death. These will affect Endurance saves, and the kinds of creature the Fates will send you, not the amount of damage taken from this stat type.
A memory flickers into being, and you're at your trial again. There's a table before you, and you must select one object and use it on yourself.
A: I take the Sword, and make a small cut across my palm that blisters - More likely to meet your doom to physical damage.
B: I take the Wand and release a powerful bolt of air directly into my chest - More likely to meet your doom to magical damage.
C: I take the Pentacle, and put it around my neck, and grasp my head in pain as I feel wriggling darkness enter my mind. - More likely to meet your doom to mental damage.
D: I sip the Cup, and feel pain wracking my stomach. - More likely to meet your doom to debuffs and curses.
E: I refuse to partake of any of these things.

You sigh in resignation, and press the sword to your palm.
Your choice has been made.
Pain ripples forth from the wound, (for it is a wound; no longer a scratch), and you feel the Hermit within sigh in relief as at the balance is righted.
Your weakness has been set to 'Physical'.
You are now 30% Lawful
You got a scar across your palm.

One last memory flickers into being, and fragments into many smaller ones.
You struggle to grab the shards, and realise that each one is a learned trait. You manage to grab 4.
Which ones did you grab?

Cooking, Swimming, Purify Water, Dispel
I'd take Hunting/Foraging over Cooking, but it isn't an option.

Taming, breeding, make familiar, pokeCooking, dancing, purify water, ignite. I'll trade Dispel for Ignite/Dancing, but we should keep Swimming. If we don't know how to swim, it could hinder our movement very effectively and I'll likely toss Felix in a lake, forgetting he can't swim because I just assume everyone can.

Why would your first instinct be to chuck a cat in the water? Because cats can swim perfectly fine...? I mean, the second we come across water and there's something I want in it or across the lake, I'm going to want to jump in the water to get it. I won't hesitate to command Felix into water. It's not a difficult to traverse terrain.
