I'll trade Dispel for Ignite/Dancing, but we should keep Swimming. If we don't know how to swim, it could hinder our movement very effectively and I'll likely toss Felix in a lake, forgetting he can't swim because I just assume everyone can. Why would your first instinct be to chuck a cat in the water? TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE

Okay, so either you agree on a compromise, or @datguyx settles it for you. Or someone else joins and does that, I guess.

You grab Purify Water, Cooking, Swimming, and Ignite.
Please note that the traits you had access to are only the ones you collected over the course of your life to this point, others have access to other traits, and you can learn ones in future that weren't on the list.
You awaken in a deep rippling pool, of something that is somewhere between liquid and air. You swim upward, panicking, uncertain if you can breathe it.
Gasping, you throttle the railing, and pull yourself out of it. You check your clothes, and are surprised to realise they aren't even wet. You're even more surprised to see that you're wearing a white robe.
The surroundings are grey and ethereal. Flickers of other places move across your vision.
Is this... the afterlife?
"Oh, no, kitty. You're wrong there, dead wrong."
"What?" you ask, and are surprised to hear how silky your voice is. "Where am I then? Who are you? Who am I?"
"So many questions. Can't a guy catch a break?"
"...Seriously, a cat pun?"
"Comes with the territory, I'm afraid. I know you're an easy target, being of the cat purrsuasion... anyway. This is the Borderline. A realm between realms, if you like. I'll be your guide. My name is 'Comical Death', but you can call me 'Humerus'."
"Look, if I'm dead, you can tell me. I won't freak out or anything."
"Good to know. Turn around."
You turn around, and there's a short robed figure, holding a yellow-bladed scythe. Their robe is fronted with a giant bowtie covered in rainbow polka dots, and is mainly white, with red, green, and blue stripes. They draw back the hood to reveal a skull with a red button nose, a big bushy red wig, and glowing gold points in the centre of each socket for pupils.
He holds out a hand to shake, which predictably has a joy buzzer on it.
"...Nice to meet you." you say without shaking.
"Heh, can't fool you, huh? By the way, did you get in a shapeshifting accident, or did your dear Mother have a thing for little old fluffles? Oh, but that's a tail fur another time."
"Could you please, shut up! ...Or answer my question. Who am I? Besides some sort of cat-human hybrid thing."
"If I told you, the remembering process would slow. You tell me, who are you?"
You think for a moment, and rub your eyes. "...Felix Tieremi." you say after some time. "I was arrested, for..."
"Cat burglary? Oh, sorry, continue."
"Ugh, no, I think that's it. You can't tell me anything else?"
"Well, I can tell you that you're from the World of Cards. Just look at your nails, or claws, as the case may be."
You glance down at your hands and see a single white mark in the shape of a playing card symbol in the centre of each nail. From pinky to forefinger on both hands: spade, heart, diamond, club. One thumb has a '6', the other has a sword.
"Now, if you're going to ask me all those questions, then I have a question for you."
"Okay, shoot."
You are predictably shot in the chest with a toy dart.
"Sorry about that... anyway, is there a tail under there?"
"Used to be. My master had it remo... – hm."
"Heh. Sorry about all the ribbing. Shall we?"
"Shall we... what?"
"I need to teach you how fighting works in the 'New World', as you humans call it."
An axe, a tome, and a crystal appear out of the greyness. After that, three shades rise up, one holding a club, one holding a staff, and one holding a mirror.
"Now, defeat these guys one at a time. Physical weapons use your body and strength, magic weapons use your words and intellect, and psionic weapons use your mind and will. To remember the weapon triangle: remember the phrase "Actions speak louder than words", and "Brain over Brawn,"."
What do you do?

That's less of a triangle and more of a line where magic gets fucked, but it's good enough I guess. Axe the staffman.

In case this wasn't clear: Physical beats Magical beats Psionic beats Physical.
You pick up the axe, and hit the staff-wielder. They instantly disintegrate.
"Course, it won't be that easy, but you get the idea. Apparently an axe is all you need to stave off a magic user."
You then dispatch the other two with similar ease, using the tome to defeat the vain shade, and the crystal to defeat the club-wielding thug.
"Oh no. Your ally is hurt. Look."
A shade materialises out of the shadows, it's doubled over, and it looks like it's about to pass out.
"If your HP is below 0, you make Will saves to stay awake. If it's below -10, after passing out you'll make will saves to not die. If something deals more damage than half your maximum HP, you'll make a will save to avoid being knocked out. Being knocked out can reduce your stats. Get me?"
You nod.
"To heal someone, you'll need a scepter. Oh, look."
A scepter appears before you.
"However will you solve this conundrum? Hint: Do not use a weapon, use the scepter."

Wow, we really booked it to take down that mirror dude. I guess we just whack him with it? Pick up the scepter and bash the specter.

You whack the shade lightly with your staff. It keels over.
You are now 27% Lawful.
"Ha ha, very funny. Now it's unconscious. Careful with these things, they're fragile."
"Hey, just did what you told me to."
"Yeah, gotta hand it to you on that one." he says, tossing you something. You catch it instinctively. "This'll make you jump really high. Once. Use it in a pinch."
"Oookayy..."
"Now, just focus your wisdom into the scepter, and flick it towards the unconscious, dying shade."
