You head down the south path. You don't find anything interesting, just a dead end. You turn around, ready to start retracing your steps when...
A pair of unusually large rats scamper out of the roots and bar your way. Two clusters of large butterflies hover behind them.
"Alright, let's do this!" Yvan yells.
Urvan flips his spear around and holds it in a battle stance. "Guess there's no choice..."
"W-whoa, that's bigger than I expected..." Merrick says.
"Just stay calm and watch their movements," Wulf assures him.
"Interesting. They seem to be demonstrating tactics... Perhaps some form of symbiosis?" Darian reasons.

You spin in a circle while going on about how amazing that was, then yell something about how Urvan must be a cockfighting expert, the toughest chicken of them all.
"Uh... Thanks?" he says as he wipes the blood off his spear.
"Don't mention it." You stop spinning and stagger unsteadily towards Yvan. She reaches out to help you. Just as planned. You seize her hand. "And you! You're so pretty!"
"H- Wh- B- Where did that come from!?" she demands.
"I dunno, but you are! I mean, you're always pretty."
"Pretty scary!" Merrick chimes in.
You ignore him. "But something about the way you fight is extra-pretty!"
Yvan stares with her mouth open for a moment, unsure how to respond. "I-I'm not 'pretty,' I'm drop-dead gorgeous. And a total badass." She pulls her hand free and folds her arms over her chest. She looks away while hiding a smile and poorly feigning an angry voice. "Hmph. If you're getting this excited already... Well, you better be ready to see something really sexy when you finally order me to transform!" She turns back and grins at you. "And I expect some better praise than 'pretty' afterward!"
Merrick looks at you expectantly.
(A) "Welp, let's move on!"
(B) "Yes, Merrick, you did pretty good, too."
(C) "Heh. You're pretty cute yourself, rookie."
