"How about we send one person to check it out?" you suggest, looking around the group. "Perhaps someone not very damaged?"
"Not a good idea." Decider states, simply. "We have no idea what might be there. We may need to work together to survive in that area, and—"
"I'll do it." says Ace. "Anything to get away from you bozos."
"You can't—"
"Yes he can." May says.
"But he might be useful!" Twomato protests.
"Your concern for me is touching." Ace spits nastily. "But I'll be fine. I'm far more competent than any of you pigeonbubbles."
"He goes." the Messenger tells you all. "If he's not back in two hours, somebody goes after him. Oh, and by the way, I won't communicate with any part of the group unless everyone is present, to hide my identity. Oh, and nobody else should split into groups of less than four, at any point."
Do you voice any objection to Ace going alone?

Nobody has any objections. Before Ace leaves, Redemption points out that it would be easier to explore if groups of three were allowed as well as groups of four. So many people quickly agree that it wouldn't matter if you didn't.
"Oh, and before I go, could I take something?" Ace says, pointing to the pile of items that you gathered up.
"How about everyone just gets what was in their room?" Foursight suggests.
"In that case, I get an umbrella and a rolling pin, while Moose gets a mask and a freaking sword!" Redemption says, gradually increasing the volume as she does.
"They probably do something special." Mu muses. "Have you tried?"
"Haven't tried anything with the umbrella. But the rolling pin sings when you press one of the handles."
"Let me see." Twomato says, taking it from the pile, and pressing one of the handles. Nothing happens, so he presses the other handle.
Immediately, it starts singing, and rolling forwards and backwards.
"Hey, we're in the middle, yeah, Have you got the riddle yet? Find seven of the twelve, And you can save yourselves, You only live once, The Hunter will hunt, Once that elevator leaves, The rest will then stop and grieve, Cuz once that box is gone, It won't return, So you should learn, Trust a little, But trust's brittle, So keep all your friends close, And your enemies closer."
"Huh. That was different that time." Redemption notes.
"It would appear it is based on the room you are in." Mu deduces. "Perhaps it gives you a hint to the puzzles?"
"Okay, then I'll trade my radar for the rolling pin, and the syringe for Moose's katana."
"Deal."
"Hey!"
"Look, I'll give it back once I get back. In the meantime, I need something to defend myself, what do you say?"
A: Give it to him
B: Don't

"What does the syringe do?" You ask.
"No idea." Ace replies. "Never tried injecting myself with it. It's not transparent. It does have 'Sanitatum' on it though..."
"If I'm not remiss, that's 'healing' in Latin." Mu says.
"Well, there we go then. It heals."

That sounds like a he should have with him... We're going to trust him and let him just borrow the sword.

Tell him he should probably have the healing syrunge just in case, but he can take the sword if he needs it.

Just to be clear, you mean the syringe as well as the sword?

No, we're still trading. Just telling him that he might want to think about it first.

Oh, I meant just let him borrow the sword and keep the syringe. Because I trust Ace not to screw us. On this specific thing. He might die with the sword down there, though, and then we'd be SoL.

"Take the syringe and the rolling pin," You say, dismissively. "You can borrow my katana for now as well."Ace seems quite surprised at this. "Hey, th-thanks!"
He gathers up his items, and after receiving directions to his compatible chest, Ace disappears.
The others take their own items, and split off into groups.
Twomato, Redemption, May and Mu go to the Office, while Mu inquires about the gameshow book that Twomato has; Allure, Decider and Elf decide to go to the Art room; while Foursight Bubbles and Limelight decide to go to the Garden.
Which team do you tag along with?
A: Office - 2 (Twomato), 3 (Redemption), 5 (May), Mu (12) B: Art room - 8 (Allure), 10 (Decider), 11 (Elf) C: Garden - 4 (Foursight), 6 (Limelight), 9 (Bubbles) D: Ask if you can investigate somewhere on your own

You tag along with Foursight, Bubbles, and Limelight to the Garden.
"The Garden"
When you get there, Limelight gasps. The room is about a quarter of the size of a football pitch with a patio, a barbecue, a pond the size of a house, various fruit trees all around the edges, a large lawn, and what looks like a blue sky dotted with clouds, although it's probably some kind of screen.
The area around the door you came out from is designed to look like a house, and the door to Foursight's room is designed to look like a shed.
Altogether, rather more impressive than your room.
Nobody seems in any immediate mood to socialise.
People seem to be fiddling about with their items, testing them on their surroundings. Foursight has the magnifying glass and spade, Limelight has the make-up kit and some kind of metal box with numbers on it, and Bubbles has... bubbles, and a tube of cream.
You already know, more or less, what your items do.
What do you do?
A: Examine the surroundings B: Look for further functionality among your items C: Go up to 4 (Foursight) D: Go up to 6 (Limelight) E: Go up to 9 (Bubbles)

You head over to Limelight, who is experimenting with the makeup kit. You watch as she rubs her finger on the purple powder, and tries it on various things. It does nothing to a stick, or the garden tap, but she gasps as it eats through a stone like powdered sugar in scalding water.
"Quite a reaction."
She visibly jumps, and slams the case shut.
You try to talk to her, but she is rather cold, and enunciates every syllable with stiff sarcasm. Conversation eventually fades into awkward silence.
Maybe you should ask a question to break the ice?
