"What's your favourite colour?" you ask Limelight. When she looks at you in confusion, you elaborate. "Looking to see why each person has a certain colour."
"Pink." she says, eventually. "But not like, light red pink. Hot pink."
"Like Ace's suit?"
"Yeah... lucky shrimp."
"Made any discoveries?" you say, jerking a thumb at the makeup kit.
"No..." she says pensively. Then, she suddenly exclaims, "Put the moose mask on!"
You comply, and look questioningly at her. Not that she'd know this of course, you're wearing a mask.
"Can you see anything?" she inquires, while holding up the makeup.
One of them, the green, is glowing intensely. You tell her, and she looks interested.
This kickstarts the conversation, and you talk for about forty-five minutes. During this time, you reveal your own favourite colour, and even discuss ages to see if that would somehow relate to your numbers. You are 22, she is 17. Or at least, those were the last birthdays you celebrated. Since it's entirely possible you have each played this game before, you both agree that by now you could be older. You don't manage to figure out what any of the other powders do, but you do discover that the metal box actually gives you several different readings if you know how. As well as temperature, pressure, and gases in the air, it also seems to tell you how many days are left, and the phase.
It is easy to see she is becoming disinterested by now, however. What do you do?
A: Talk to Bubbles B: Talk to Foursight C: Go to a different room D: Explore the Garden

You get up, and go to look for Foursight. You're not entirely sure where she went, exactly. You wander in the general direction, and nearly trip on a giant pile of dirt, and fall into a large hole in the ground. It's about 15 metres deep, and three metres wide. There's metal flooring at the bottom.
In fact, the ground seems to be littered with them. You see more a short distance away.
Your attention is then caught by a waving figure in the distance. You run up to Foursight. "Hey, how's it going?"
You gesture to all the holes in the ground. "How...? Why...?"
She holds up the bizarre looking shovel in her hand. "I needed to test this out. Turns out, it's an 'Autospade'. Pretty neat, huh?"
"Okay, but why so many holes?"
"There's got to be something buried here. Why else would it be so deep?"
"Have you found anything?"
"I found a 400CP coin. Also, I discovered that my magnifying glass identifies whichever substance it's held above. The metal plating? Doctrinium. It also gives the names of items!"
What do you say?

Cool. What's it say about my Moose head?

"Cool!" You say, trying desperately to think of a reply. "What does it say about my moose mask?"
Foursight scans the mask. You glance at the reading. It says 'Alias mask – Highlights presence of important objects containing metal. Cannot be used to find hidden locations.'
"Interesting." Foursight says, glancing off into the distance. "In more ways than one. Hidden locations?"
"I wonder if there is an underground room somewhere." You muse, gazing at the ground.
"How do we find it? Besides randomly digging around, I mean."
"It helps that we know there are hidden locations, but doesn't help that we know it can't help us."
"I think it does help that we know it can't help us, because if we didn't we'd try using it."
Do you have anything else you'd like to address, or do you just let the conversation drift?

Who do you think the messenger is?

"Who do you think the Messenger is?" You ask.
Foursight's expression changes immediately, suddenly looking serious. She addresses you in a hushed tone. "Probably Mu, possibly Ace or Redemption. I could also see it being 10... what's his name again? Decider?"
"Yeah, his name's Decider... by the way, you're not Interrogator, are you?"
"No, no. My role's something else, and I told the Messenger what it really was. They weren't trying to kill me, apparently."
"That's always comforting."
"Listen, I think we need to have some kind of plan."
"What?"
"How do we stop whoever's met their win condition by the time we get seven of the beacons, or keys, or whatever, from just leaving? I think guy in White – didn't we have a new name for him? – said something about there being incentives every so often to incite us to escape."

Well. The easiest way would be to make sure no one person has 7 keys. Probably best if we split keys up with no more than one a person. Maybe there's one hidden ar- oh. Let's try the moose mask to see if it helps find anywhere to dig.

"That's easily avoided." You state simply. "We just don't turn the keys in the locks, and don't let any one person have enough to escape on their own."
"That's a good idea." Foursight says, glancing upwards. "But we don't know that obtaining a key doesn't automatically do anything."
"We can't know that until we find the first one. That being the case, looking for keys seems to be a good place to start. Shall we try the moose mask?"
"Okay. How about I do it? Your face doesn't seem to be modelled for it."
You and Foursight search for about an hour. Neither you nor her find anything immediately with the Moose mask, so you take a turn with the Autospade. You uncover 700CP, which she lets you keep, but don't find anything in the way of a secret room.
You rest for a while, and chat idly, before Twomato comes running into the Garden. Bubbles and Limelight come running towards you.
"Hah... huh..." He pants, putting his hands on his knees. "Guys, we think Ace might be in trouble."
"What?" Foursight exclaims, jumping to her feet. "Why?"
"He was supposed to be back by now, and Mu admitted he lied. Well, sort of."
"Lied?"
"See, he said the word meant 'healing', which is true. But, that's not all it says on the syringe. The full phrase means 'healing sleep', or something, and it's an anaesthetic. If Ace got into trouble, he used a sedative!"
"Why did Mu say that?"
"He said something about hubris, and... look, it doesn't matter. The plan is to get everyone back to CORE hall, and decide who, if anyone, should go down the chests and help him out."
"Why should we help him?" Limelight says, finally speaking. "He's a lemon. What? I can't even say kumquat?"
"He's a human being! And he might have skills and/or powers that could make the difference between the rest of us living or dying."
"If he didn't use it, he's fine. And if he did use it, he could be dead by the time we get there anyway. Why put all of our lives at stake for the sake of someone like him?"
"We're going to have to explore that area at some point anyway! We're wasting time talking to him. We need to get there as quickly as possible."
Bubbles, who had been lost in thought until that point, speaks up. "Foursight? What's in your chest?"
She quickly turns around, and addresses him. "A-acid. Why?"
"Do any of us have that skill? If so, Foursight's room is only five minutes away, we could get someone there pretty quickly."
You have it.
Acidtouch.
What do you do?
A: Pretend you don't have it, and continue to experiment in the Garden B: Pretend you don't have it, and go to the hall with the others C: Say that you do have it, but refuse to help him. "I've got Acidtouch." You proclaim. Four quickly grabs your hand, and runs into the passageway to her room before anyone can argue.
"Here." She says, giving you her magnifying glass as you run. "You'll need this more than any of the rest of us. We need to get him out of danger as quick as possible."
Do you have a question on your mind? Or do you just keep running?

You take your moose mask off, put your helmet back on, and are about to climb into the chest, before you realise you have no idea how to actually transport your items through the chest. You relay this to Foursight.
"Oh, it's fine. I was looking at the liquid in the chest with my magnifying glass, and I accidentally dropped it in. As soon as it touches, they get coated with some kind of silvery coating that protects them."
"Handy." you respond to the convenient handily lampshaded plot device.
Giving Foursight the items to hold while you take out the chest's bottom, you feel a cool sensation, but no burn of acid. You climb in, take the items, and submerge your head under the acid.
Your vision changes, there's a green glow around the edges, and everything flickers as though it were an ultrasound. You swim downwards, unable to see any kind of bottom. The tunnel doesn't expand as it goes down, and you're holding an item in each hand, making it even harder to swim.
Eventually, however, you do reach the bottom, which loops back up after you swim underneath a wall. The wall, like the tunnel, and every single passage between rooms in this entire facility, apparently, is metal plated.
You emerge inside yet another chest, making you think, momentarily, that you'd accidentally swum back up into Foursight's room. But this room is different. You poke your head above the water, and upon seeing no immediate danger, throw your items on the floor in front. Your vision readjusts, and new words meet your eyes.
"Challenge room 7 - Challenge of the mind"
You scan the room. Smooth grey walls decorated with green symbols associated with thought, seemingly omnipresent light source, what looks like an electronic tablet filled with scrolling question marks, a bookcase, there's a clear cuboid box lined with dripping needles attached to one wall with a hole at one end and a metal ball at the other, a fancy looking brain scanner, a fishtank with labelled brains... only one of them is even close to being human size.
It's enough to make you crawl back into the chest.
Let's see... you think to yourself. Three exits. One forwards, with some kind of card scanner, two sideways, each with some kind of electronic interface.
What's your approach?

You walk towards the fish tank containing the brains. There's about fifteen. You are not nearly as freaked out as you would have assumed.
There are twelve of them. With the exception of the twelfth one along, none of the brains are large enough to be human. Or, at least, adult human. Your eyes widen as you think this. No, surely not...
You read the name tags. They're not just name tags, you discover, there's also some information about each one. They seem to all be varied ages as well.
But you realise you're trying to avoid actually looking at the titles. Steeling yourself, you manage to read the titles on each one: Wolf, Snake, Sloth, Cow, Starfish, Bug (here you have to squint), Crow, Spider, Monkey, Lobster, Dog, Mongoose.
Wait a second... You think. Mongoose? Mongooses... (mongeese?) they're tiny animals! Why would one have a human-sized...
You read the card.
Mongoose
Name: Morgan ████████████
Species: Homo Sapiens
Date of Death: December 12 2076
Extra info: Body submitted for study by sister, Lyra ████████████. Employed as a meta-material analyst, in his free time practised various martial arts and art of swordsmanship.
Age: 24
Mongoose? Morgan? Date of Death?
Is... my name Morgan?
You do a double, triple, then a quadruple take.
"What. What? What! What?! WHAT."
You say the word 'What' so many times, each time using it to mean a different thing, that the word itself becomes meaningless. It takes you a few seconds to even remember what it means.
Something about the entire situation triggers some non-existent memory. You seek it out, and force yourself to remember it. You remember, but you have no idea what it is you're remembering.
At last you manage to settle on a detail.
You've been here before.
In this facility.
There's an event swimming in your mind, that you feel like you could grasp if you tried hard enough.
A:Remember B:Focus on the task at hand
