Oh, and (Pegasus Knight) has a proper token now! Be hype, that means she's now confirmed important!

"Take down the archers and clear us a path!" Rand orders.

Fei leaps forward, slicing at a sniper.  She lands a deep slash with her axe.  As the sniper desperately shuffles back, Eun'ji raises her bow and fires an arrow into his neck.  Suarrure scrambles past the corpse to grab the archer on the rear lines.  He grabs the archer by the arm and throws him to the ground before slicing him with his claws.

Hyun'ji moves to the center of the formation, trading blows with an enemy fighter.  He finds it hard to gain an advantage, until Alice lobs a dark sphere over his back, blasting the fighter away.  Mina charges the other fighter with her lance.  He turns her back, neither landing any hits.

The surviving enemy and sniper advance, driving the front line back with several shots.  The dancer moves to the front line, trying to stall everyone's advance.  The fighter shifts to attack Suarrure, and the Troubadour heals his wounds.

"Now's our chance, Pixie!  With me!" Rand calls.  He pushes Hector into a charge.  "I'll leave that archer to you!"

"R-right!" the laguz answers, transforming as she flies after him.

The archer takes aim at Rand, turning to track him as he passes.  Pixie grabs him from behind.  "Sorry!" she yells, ripping into his arms with her talons, then tossing him over the seawall and into the ocean.  "Oh...  I hope he was already dead...  Drowning's such an awful way to go..."

"Pixie, don't get distracted!" Alice yells.

"Y-yes, ma'am!" she calls back.

Rand rushes to the pegasus knight's side, taking on one of the wyvern lords by himself.  He misses his initial charge.  The wyvern lord turns and delivers a powerful blow to Rand's side.

"Rrrgh!"  Rand is shocked.  That pegasus knight was making this look easy...

"Oh...  Mmm, yeah.  That's really not a great first impression, y'know?" the pegasus knight teases him.  She flashes a bright smile.  "You can do better!  If you're gonna be my knight in shining armor, then I wanna see y-gaaaah!"  The other wyvern lord slashes her back while she's distracted.  She catches herself, turning on the wyvern lord and stabbing him.  He falls to the ground.

"Watch your back!"  Rand yells.  "And I'm just warming up!"  He throws his axe at the wyvern lord, sending the rider falling to the ground.  Rand drops after him to retrieve his axe, and the pegasus knight shortly joins him.

"Hey!" she greets him.  "That's more like it!"

"Um... thanks?" Rand says.  "That was really impressive, when you were fighting them all by yourself.

"Hehe, thanks!" she answers.  "That armor - you must be Prince Rand!  Wow!  Oh, this is amazing!  I can't believe I actually got praised by a prince!  Did you hear that, Rose!?"

Her pegasus snorts as she continues to freak out.

"...What's a Valerian knight doing here in Valm?" Rand asks.

"Oh!  Right, sorry!  So-o-o-o, I'm Snowy...  And I'm not actually a Valerian knight!  I kinda took this armor from a dead guy, and, um...  OK, it's ki-i-i-ind of a really long story and we should save it for when people aren't trying to kill us, but!  Here's the short version.  Those guys want to kill you because some other guys want to kill you, but if the other guys kill you instead of these guys, they'll summon a demon that's gonna, well, do what all demons do!  So these guys think they're doing the right thing by killing you themselves before the other guys kill you, but I disagree so I kinda left their little group - oh, yeah, I used to be with them - and now they want to kill me, too!  OH!  Right, they're also after your sister, but there's no need to worry!  My partner, Isana, you probably met her, right?  Yeah, she's watching over the princess right now so I'm sure it's fine."

"That's... That's the short version!?" Rand asks.

"Mmmmmmm...  Yep!  Well, I guess I coulda just said 'hi let's talk later' over and over.  That probably woulda been pretty infuriating, huh?  And trust me, the long version is way, way more complicated.  But if you're trying to fly all slack-jawed after I blow your mind, you'll eat a bunch of flies and choke!  And we can't have that, can we?"

"...Uh?" Rand stammers.

"Now, with me!" Snowy orders.  "...Oh!  Wow, right, I'm not the one giving orders anymore.  It's gonna be weird working with other people again.  Orders, Boss?"

The enemy forces begin to pull back, establishing a defensive formation.



(A) Fall back as well, make them come to you.
(B) Try to break through to them as fast as possible!
(C) Move into a pincer formation!
(D) Have Rand, Snowy, and Pixie try to pick some off while the others finish up at the docks!

Hmm... Yeah C with a focus on the archers so our fliers can reenforce

This is a really long tie.

"Everyone, together!" Rand calls.  He brings his fliers together and everyone meets in the central street.  "Advance, carefully!"

Hyun'ji, Fei, and Suarrure take point as they attack the generals.  Fei and Suarrure find it difficult to pierce the thick armor, but Hyun'ji's precise strikes slip through the cracks.  Eun'ji stays close behind him, firing arrows into the joins.  Hyun'ji waits for an opening, then slips past the general's spear to finish him.  Alice and Mina help the others with magic and javelins, but the generals hold their ground.

One of the paladins moves forward to cover the opening left by the fallen generals.  Troubadours move forward to tend to the survivors.

The enemy sniper moves to take a shot at Fei, but she maneuvers to take cover behind the enemy general.  The archer manages to slip in a shot to Suarrure's leg.  Suarrure growls and keeps hacking at the general.

Rand, Snowy, and Pixie hold back for now, waiting for their opening.  The enemy wyvern lord, the one with the ornate armor, forces her way past them.  She singles out Mina, aiming for her with a huge, cleaving sweep of her axe.

"Mina!  Watch out!" Rand yells.

"Ah?" Mina turns from throwing javelins just in time to avoid the worst of the blow.  "What?  Who are you?"

The enemy doesn't respond, but the hatred emanating from her stare is palpable.

"I...  I'm not afraid of you!" Mina yells.  "Haaaaa!"  She uses her javelin to vault into the air, then uses the momentum to flip and hurl her javelin at the enemy.

"Ha...!" the wyvern lord gasps.

(A) Charge! Break through and divide the enemies!
(B) Keep pushing forward! Take down the archers!
(C) Hold your ground!
(D) Pull back!
(E) Full retreat!

Hyun'ji leaps forward, slashing at the paladin.  The horse rears back and kicks, forcing Hyun'ji to retreat without landing a hit.  Eun'ji fires an arrow over his shoulder, glancing across the paladin's shield.

Fei continues to trade blows with the general, unable to penetrate the armor but avoiding his blows.  Alice concentrates on the other general.  "Now, fall!"  She calls forth a stream of shadows to strike him repeatedly.

Suarrure clambers over the general's corpse before it even hits the ground, leaping onto the archer behind it.  Shep cautiously runs behind him, tending to his wounds.

Rand, Snowy, and Pixie all attack the wyvern lord at once.  None of the three find an opening to land a hit as she wildly swings her lance and her wyvern lashes about.

The enemy commander nods, and his troubadours split off to start healing the front line.  The paladins and fighters reinforce the side where Suarrure managed to break through, preventing more of them from pushing through.

The southern group of fighters go after Rand and Pixie.  Rand simply avoids the fighter attacking him, but the others both attack Pixie.  She evades the first fighter's attack, then stabs him with her beak and slashes with her claws.  Pixie, tired from the exertion, reverts to her human form.  The other fighter hacks at her legs, and she answers with a kick to the side of the head.

The enemy sniper takes advantage of the confusion to target Rand.  He aims, carefully, then looses an arrow into the prince's back.  Rand gasps at the impact, nearly losing his seat.  Hector helps catch him.

The wyvern lord wastes no time rushing at him.  "Die."

Rand raises his axe, smashing her blow aside before driving his axe into her chest.  He feels the armor give way, and pulls back an axe covered with blood.

"Gah..." the wyvern lord chokes out.

"Full retreat!" the enemy commander calls out.  "You, too!"

The wyvern lord takes one last look at Rand, Mina, and Snowy, then starts trying to fly away.

"Aw, running off again so soon!?" Snowy yells, kicking her pegasus into a chase.

(A) "Drop back! It could be a trap!"
(B) "Hold position! Let them go!"
(C) "Run down the injured and stragglers!"
(D) "Don't let that woman escape!  Leave the others!"
(E) "Charge!"

Those voices in your head are called 'thoughts,' Emmpy. It's OK. You don't have to fear them.
