Lily orders several of the fliers and mages to form up and hide against the wall. She leaves Judoc, Zenia, and Hyun'ji to take point guarding the entrance. The pirates see the three almost immediately, and proceed to stand there. They seem to be discussing things, as if trying to make a new plan. "What're they talking about?" Alice asks Allune. "I can't hear them over the river," she admits. "Sorry..." "This is strange..." Lily says. "That force is far too small to do anything. Are they just scouts...?" Lily notices that Sylvia's been sniffing at the air. "Is something wrong?" "...I can't... put my finger on it..." she admits. Suarrure joins in. His tail wags awkwardly. "She's right. I smell... people?" He pokes his head around the wall. "But... there's nothing there?" Allune suddenly gasps and slams Alice with a powerful kick. A split-second later, a knife thuds into the wall next to where she'd been standing. Lily turns to see a pair of cloaked figures lurking in the shadows of a nearby building. "Where did they come from!?" Rand demands. "Tch..." one figure says. "Damn. So much for an easy mark..." "Shoulda aimed for the princess," a second figure says. "We've been made, send up the signal." The first figure whistles. Suddenly, the field north of town seems to spring to life. Figures dressed in robes covered in dirt and grass pop up and draw weapons. "What in Grima's name...!?" Lily demands. A third cloaked figure standing in the back seems to be the commander. "Looks like our lucky day," she says. "Several of our marks came to us. Saved us the trouble... Alright, boys, you know our targets! Attack!"
(A) Drop back and swarm the two assassins in the town (B) Move away from the assassins and focus on defending the entrance (C) Fall back to the crossroads and take a defensive posture (D) Send a group to take the assassins while the rest defend

I've been reading an account about a guy who served in Vietnam, who I met personally. Since the Viet-Kong torturred the people they captured, they decided to always charge ahead, and that element of surprise saved the day several times.
The closest thing to that is D.

There's a reason that's no longer a viable military tactic. Different environment, different targets, different rules of war, different agendas, different game. Charging ahead and splitting our forces could end very badly. There's no cover whatsoever on the field, and I don't see any civilian sprites on the map.
A. Drop back and swarm the promoted units at our rear. Then form up into a defensive position and watch what the enemy does. Zenia, Hyun-ji, and Judoc still take defensive point.

Allune dives at one of the assassins, shifting into a hawk and slashing him with her talons as she flies past. He manages to clip one of her wings as she passes, but it leaves him open as Alice readies a spell. "Spirits, guide my hand..." she mutters. Her tome crackles as a powerful burst of dark magic flows into the ground, then explodes underneath the assassin and slams him into the wall. Rand spurs Hector to try to tackle the other assassin. He manages to hack into the assassin with his axe. The assassin turns back and throws a knife at him. Rand swats it aside with his axe while Lily surrounds the assassin in several balls of shadow. The assassin leaps into the air as they slam together and burst. He throws a knife down at Lily; it bites into her shoulder before she quickly wrenches it free. The assassin lands and starts running, slipping between Rand and Allune to stab at Alice. She grabs the assassin's wrist, stopping the knife with only a shallow wound. "I can feel it..." Alice whispers, holding the assassin in place as she chants a spell. A moment later, the assassin is obliterated by a ball of shadow. The others fall back towards the crossroads. Judoc, Hyun'ji, and Zenia continue to stand at the forefront. The enemies advance, slowly and cautiously. They seem hesitant to make the first move. The pirates continue to hold their position.
Lily: 11/13 Alice: 13/14 Allune: 15/16 (A) Wait for the enemy to attack first (B) Draw the enemy in, then attack (C) Advance and attack first (D) Send fliers to flank the enemy (choose up to 4 infantry to join)

We aren't close enough to try attacking. If we strike, we're going to want to kill as many as possible.
Hyun'ji, Judoc, and Zenia move forward to the wall. Keep your formation. Lily, behind Hyun'ji, Alice behind Judoc, and Sylvia behind Zenia. Shep, move in behind Lily and heal her. Suarrure, Move in behind Alice.
Allune, Rand, Storm, and Hawke, move in and stay by the left wall. Make sure you stay back just enough that the archers can't reach you. We'll be flying over that wall next turn to take out the left field.

The infantry moves into position at the gate. The fliers move to the wall. Shep heals Lily. The enemy starts to charge, before a series of whistles come from the assassin leading them from the rear. They break their charge and advance cautiously instead. "Archers to the front!" she calls out. The enemy archers start moving to fire at the front line while the swordsmen move to the side, ready to catch anyone rushing the archers in a pincer strike. "The enemy's movements are odd..." Lily says quietly. Sylvia nods. "They aren't blindly attacking. They have a plan." "This trap seems pretty obvious, though." Lily bites her lip. "They have something else up their sleeves." The enemy commander eyes Lily from afar. "Playing cautiously, eh? Well... I think I know how to fix that. Just need the right bait." She signals to the pirates. "Bring out our prisoner!" One of the pirates reaches down into the river and grabs the star-dressed woman by the scruff of the neck, pulling her out of the water. She gasps for air as he rips off a makeshift breathing apparatus. Chains around her chest keep her arms pinned behind her back. Her deep blue hair is matted against her snarling face. The enemy commander turns to Lily and crosses her arms, not even bothering to voice her threats. "She's from the village..." Alice says. "Allune. I'm sorry, but I have to leave this one to you..." "There's not a lot I can do with those pirates holding an axe to her throat...!" Allune answers. The head pirate smirks. "I know you cats hate water, but I guess you can't do much with all them chains," he mocks. "Can't even transform, can ya? And a laguz what can't transform-" The cat's tail stands on end. She draws her ears back and hisses. The pirate winces, but keeps a grip on her. Suddenly, she becomes very calm. She closes her eyes and breathes deeply. A bright flash of light suddenly emanates from all around her. The pirate, startled, loses his grip and she quickly pulls away, leaping to the shore. "Don't think I can't fight just because I can't use my claws!" the still-bound cat calls back. "Don't let 'er get away!" the pirate yells. One of the swordsmasters turns and begins moving to help.
Alice: 13/14 Allune: 15/16 Fliers: (A) Hold position (B) Head straight for the pirates (C) Move to prevent the enemy swordmaster from intercepting the cat Infantry: (A) Hold position (B) Fall back (C) Charge the archers (D) Move to attack the swordsmen (choose left, right, or splitting up)

Bit of a custom plan. Fliers, C. Fly over the wall and circle around to save kitty and intercept the Swordmaster. Infantry, split up. Zenia and Judoc move out and charge the archers. The rest of the party circles around to the right, so they're in between the wall and the swordsmen. Hyun-ji leads the attack against the enemy Swordmaster, while our ranged attackers stay at the rear of the formation, nearest the wall, and attack any enemies in range. The rest of our units form up around Hyun-ji, creating a pseudo turtle formation protecting the ranged units at the rear.

Rand, Storm, Hawke, kill the pirates and form a defensive barrier around Stella.
Sylvia, use Rally Spectrum to raise everyone's stats by...Oh damn, is it really by 4? Or did you take the 2? Either way, DAAAAAAAMN GIRL.
Allune, fly in and take out the Outlaw on the left at close range. Stay transformed as a hawk. Don't worry about arrows, they won't fire at you.
Zenia, move in and take out the swordmaster on the left. Suarrare, give her a dance so she can take out the Sniper on the right. Hyun'ji, move with her and take on the swordmaster on the right.
Allune, move forward and take out the outlaw on the left. Lily, move forward and take out the sniper on the left. Alice, go with her and blast the Outlaw on the right with magic.
Judoc, step forward and take out the archer on the left. Shep, move in front of Zenia and see if you can catch the attention of the archer on the right or the myrmidon on the left. Your speed should be high enough that you don't get hit twice and your defense should be high enough that you can take one hit from each.
Zenia, make sure you're attacking the sniper from the northern side so the thieves and mages are more tempted to try swarming you. Lily, make sure to attack the sniper from the southern side so that you're further away from the thieves and mages and can hopefully avoid as many as possible.
I believe that is all I can do for now. As long as nobody dies, we'll be fine. I can handle badly wounded. Wait...Shep got a plus 4 to his defense...so did Lily. We should be okay.

Sylvia flips open her tome. "Hang in there, everyone! I'll try to give you some advice!" She carefully watches the enemy's movements from the rear, ready to shout out guidance. Zenia's the first to move, charging forward and slamming into one of the swordmasters. She stabs down into him before he can pick himself up. Suarrure comes twirling in behind her. "Wow, that was impressive - why don't you show me again, cutie?" Zenia glares over her shoulder. "Fine." She rushes into the heart of the enemy formation. "Watch and learn!" She swings her sword straight through one of the snipers' bows and slaying him. Hyun'ji moves along the east, challenging the other enemy swordmaster. Their blades clash twice before Hyun'ji manages to push past the enemy's guard and slash deep into his chest. Alice throws a shadow orb at one of the outlaws and blows him away. Allune swoops down on the other outlaw, and is surprised to see him dodge out of the way. Lily strikes one of the snipers with her sword, but does noticeably less damage. Shep moves up watch Zenia's back. Judoc stabs one of the archers with a grazing blow. Two of the surviving swordsmen run at Allune, who pulls up and out of the way, but finds herself unable to land any significant blows. The outlaw takes a shot at her, but she easily avoids it. Another swordsman takes aim at Shep, but he deflects it with his staff. The two thieves run at Zenia, and it ends exactly as expected. One mage shoots a gust of wind at her and she leaps to the side. The other hits Shep with a fireball, but he shrugs it off. The archers back off and fire at Judoc, but the arrows bounce off his armor. The sniper jumps back and fires wildly at Lily, but she ducks the shot. The pirates chase after the cat as she struggles to run in her bonds. Rand, Storm, and Hawke fly to her side as fast as possible. One of the pirates takes a swing at her. She manages to shift enough that the chains take the worst of the blow, but a bit of blood is visible from the impact. She chants a few words and a small orb of light materializes and bursts beside the pirate. He grunts and then bellows angrily. Rand intercepts the next pirate. Hector flings him into the air, and Rand hacks him with his axe. "Huh!? Oh... Thanks!" the cat says as the last pirate runs to join the fight. The assassin looks over the battlefield. Underneath her mask, a smile spreads across her face. "Hook, line, and sucker..." She lets out a loud whistle. Syliva turns to see enemies emerging from buildings just inside the town. A pair of assassins, four dark mages, two outlaws, and two thieves. "Tch... Well, we can do that, too! Lily! Time to call in the reinforcements!" Lily chances a look back. "Yeah! Handle it!"
Choose 6 reinforcements (from the south). Gale - Taguel Kelly - Paladin Nevyn - Fighter Fei - Warrior Rhett - Journeyman Sorina - Knight Carin - Troubadour Rakim - Mercenary Harv - Pirate Kurt - Thief Quinn - Fox Laguz Eun'ji - Sniper Keith - Cavalier Gin - Soldier Isana - Dancer (A) Move back, try to catch the enemy reinforcements between you but expose your rear (B) Have the main team ignore the new enemies while you reinforcements engage the enemy's (C) Split the main team into two groups (1) Grab kitty and run (2) Stand and fight with kitty (3) Tell kitty to run while Rand's group keeps fighting

Okay. Just needed to know if killing the boss would end this early or not.
Call in Gale, Kelly, Nevyn, Rhett, Gin, and Isana.
Okay, we're going to need another Rally Spectrum to get through this. Sylvia, move forward. Judoc, stand between her and the enemy reinforcements. Make sure you have a javelin in hand to deal with those ranged enemies. Sylvia, activate Rally Spectrum to boost allies in that mess of fighting.
Zenia, take out that sniper. Hawke, Storm, fly in and take on the outlaw together.
If Stella is still receiving a chained penalty: Rand, break her chains and prepare to defend against the incoming pirate.
If Stella is not receiving a chained penalty: Rand, attack the pirate.
Stella, follow after Hawke and Storm. I don't think she can reach any enemies to attack yet.
Lily, stay close to Judoc and Sylvia. Maybe her skills can help boost them. Strike at the archer right next to you.
Allune, make sure that the Outlaw and the Sniper are dead. If either one is still alive, take them out with priority on the Sniper.
Alice, step closer to Judoc and blast that mercenary at range with magic.
Hyun'ji, step to the left and take out that last archer. Suarrare, dance for Hyun'ji, then depending on the situation, either take out the remaining Outlaw/Sniper OR move downward, next to Judoc and in front of Alice to help guard.
Shep, move over to Allune, hiding behind her, Storm, and Hawke to avoid being attacked and heal Allune.
Nevyn, move over to the left Outlaw and strike at him. Rhett, move in and attack the Outlaw afterwards. Isana, dance for Rhett so he can attack the Outlaw again and hopefully finish him. Rhett, activate Galeforce and attack the thief next to the Outlaw you just defeated.
Kelly, move in and attack the Outlaw from the northern side. Gale, strike the Outlaw from the southern side.
Gin, step forward on the northern side of where the Outlaw once was, Javelin in hand. If it somehow lived, make sure to give it a sound stabbing. The main focus here is to keep your eyes on that one Dark Mage in front of you and see if you can grab its attention.
