You're not going to charge us anything to send letters, right? Nope. But if you're talking about contacting the Black, you would have a special way to do that. You wouldn't need to send a letter. I'll PM you later, at the park, can't now.

Also, here's an example with Fridge Brilliance as to why Forgeborn would hate Dragons in general. Dragons collect gold. Forgeborn are made of gold. Forgeborn don't want to be kidnapped. This makes Seren's threat of dismantling Speed and having him melted down and cast into a shiny bauble for her mother even better than it was before.

I feel like I should wait to haggle because Karth could get some pretty great prices on these with his background, high charisma, and flirty bardyness.

I suggest you not roll a nat 1 when Seren has Karth meet the Black to talk about the maps. Seren probably wouldn't be able to save him.

I suggest you not roll a nat 1 when Seren has Karth meet the Black to talk about the maps. Seren probably wouldn't be able to save him. Solution: don't do or say anything that would require a roll. No seduction, no lying, Hell no intimidation.

He's just gonna write a note at the end saying:
"P.S. You're gonna die"

He's just gonna write a note at the end saying: "P.S. You're gonna die" Considering who Seren's writing the letter to(Not the Black)... I'm pretty sure Seren would just straight up kill Speed. Also, see, this is why Speed wouldn't recognize the Black. Because if he had ever seen her, he would be dead.

Maybe he could get lucky and ubercrit all the time Fighting the Black would be like fighting a Tarrasque. But with two forms.

Are icons actually stronger than the tarrasque...?

Probably depends on which one.
Also, I feel like bargaining would work really well for me. Even if I roll a one I feel like it can't end that badly. Because I can probably add icon to my roll too as being a popular merchant in towns allied with any of the icons I have points with. Except the Elf Queen. I have points with the Elf Queen because yay I has ring.

I wonder how we planned to eat and sleep before this quest...
All of our characters are terrible at planning.
Wait, now that I think about it, I don't even think Karthustrum planned to be in New Port...hmm. Backstory.
