Whelp, that didn't work... So much for making an example character sheet. Hmm...

I really need a couple people to help me test out some custom enemies. Preferably sometime soon. Like today. Should only take a few minutes, we just need to do a single battle. I tried to do it myself, but trying to balance a fight with 3 enemies and just me when there is going to be a party of like 5... Yeah. Doesn't work.
I also need some help with lighting. Basically, I just need someone who isn't me to tell me if the fog of war and line of sight is working properly.
There might be some... Minor spoilers involved, for one or two encounters. So only volunteer if you're okay with that. Also only volunteer if you have your character sheet ready to go.

Warin MacBeth.json (395 B) Some stuff is subject to change. Mainly the "One Unique Thing." I think Neo knows why the icon relationships are that and is OK with them, but we'll see. Well, it seems like I can't save the Icons, Talents, Backgrounds Powers/Spells or One Unique Thing anyway. Bummer.

I apparently can't open those files on my phone, so I'll look over them later. My stupid phone wants me to use Amazon to open them. Cause that makes a whole lot of sense.
Cheese, are you using the character generator I linked? The save to file option on it should save everything, I don't see why it wouldn't...

Hmm... The character generator did save my one unique thing and Icons, but not my talents, feat, or backgrounds... How weird.

...If other people have their characters done already, I guess I should hurry up and start at least working on it.

I haven't started either. I'm waiting for STARS to finish for the most part.

I haven't started either. I'm waiting for STARS to finish for the most part. But what if I wanted to run this campaign at the same time as STARS.

Also, the classes seem a bit video-game-y for some reason.

Also, the classes seem a bit video-game-y for some reason. Hmm? What do you mean? They aren't that different from D&D classes.

The way powers and feats are organized, along with the various styles with once-per-encounter abilities and whatnot.
5e DnD (my favorite in terms of the system, but 3.5e has more cool content) makes the game feel more like a story and a world with the clear subclasses, powerful feats, and the use of rests instead of arbitrary cooldowns.

There aren't "arbitrary cooldowns", and there are definitely "rests"- it's called a full heal-up, where the characters rest and recuperate. I'm 99% sure 5e got their whole "resting system" from 13th Age. The once per encounter abilities are specifically explained that your character needs to rest a bit before using that ability again. I don't see how "subclasses" make something seem more like a story, when those literally only exist in video games. You can have your characters fight in their own unique ways that reflect their experiences without subclasses. And there are powerful feats in 13th Age- but again, I don't see how that makes something feel like a story. I can link you a LP on YouTube of a 13th Age campaign that is almost like listening to a book. Point is, Lurk, you haven't even started creating your character sheet yet, let alone started playing the campaign. Don't judge and assume when you don't know.
