Selene does not know Nyl might try something. Nyl did not know Nyl might try something.
There was a problem. Nyl decided to turn it into an opportunity. Then jumped on it without a second thought. As per the Nyl cycle.
Nyl promised to (try to) stay out of trouble for a month. She arrived in Shadowport right around the deadline. All bets are off.
So far as trying to contact her? If they'd ever had a brainstorming session together, Nyl would have mentioned that she'd been thinking about ways to get in contact with Julie, but admitted she couldn't think of anything that might even possibly work.
As for what she would know of Nyl's plan... Do you remember how Nyl and Maggie's brainstorming session about curing Raven's vampirism went? Yeah, it would've been something like that. She would know Nyl's trying to put together a plan, but... Eh? Nyl would've asked stuff along the lines of what I asked you, but also a mountain of other stuff. So Selene knows Nyl has a few ideas ranging from 'unlikely to end well' to 'just crazy enough to get herself killed.'
Annnnd as much as the rational side of me says 'she gave the party a talking stone for exactly this sort of reason,' Nyl is also the one that reminded everyone Artemis said someone or something might be listening in to talking stones so be careful with them... And she's not going to do anything that might even kind of jeopardize the SST mission because in the grand scheme of things that's a lot more important.

Well, so I assume at least one plan involves the Prince of Shadows. That was hard to miss. Gonna assume SLAMBOOZLE is the other one and that sounds inherently more appealing on name alone too tbh. Can't really comment on what you're thinking without hearing more. I don't think getting the Red to help launch a frontal assault is advisable. Both he and Arlan are weakened, but the rest of the cult isn't.
All I can really think of is Raevana. Wouldn't be inclined to help as is probably. Able to be convinced? Highly questionable. Chance of making things worse for both Nyl and Julie? Overwhelming.
Could try to follow up more on Solara and the island with all those efreeti to maybe get some clues on how we can make use of her. Or they could have nothing to do with her. Maybe the Black knew about her? Either way, helping our odds uses time we probably don't have. Axel is with the Black too, I think? He might be able and more willing to help.
Maybe people is the wrong angle, but y'know, if Nyl's gonna try something alone... well, the alternative's gotta be pretty brilliant. I am intrigued with what you're thinking about doing with Nyl's ability to make a contract. Generally, doing so isn't going to work out well for the contractor, so I don't exactly see it happening with somebody stronger unless Nyl sweetens the pot. Is that why you wanted something to gift to the PoS? Make a demonic contract to try to avoid being duped or secure a better end of the deal? It'd be crazy, but if I were GMing I'd be impressed enough to try to work with it. Maybe Neo feels the same. But with someone with the reputation of a--the PoS, you gotta ufufufufufu it a bit. So maybe still not advisable.

I'll say more about the plans later. I just wanted to see if either of you had any completely different ideas first.
Hadn't thought about Raevana or Solara. And Nyl's probably the party member she hates least beside Raven and Karth... Hm. Reaching them might be difficult, but... Oh. I don't recall if I mentioned it since it seemed kind of not-relevant, but Solara's blanket-banned other street I from granting any wishes. And it's Solara. So getting her to agree to help might be even harder than just ringing the doorbell and asking Arian nicely.
Hadn't thought about using a contract on PoSSy-pants either. That... might be in the realm of 'death is likely.' Plus I dunno if he's willing to s sit still that long. I'm kinda resolved that any plan with him is going to cost an arm and leg, just deal with it.
Sounds like Neo might have something to add, so I'll hold off on anything else for a bit.

I do have stuff to add.
Selene's been doing her own thing, hatching her own schemes, contacting her old contacts, all to find Julie. She would have told Nyl all this, and that she has two leads on her location: The Southern Lands and the Western Mountains. That's all Selene's been able to find out so far. Arlan's been keeping a very tight leash on her, and Selene isn't sure why. She suspects Julie knows something Arlan wants kept secret, and it doesn't have anything to do with Julie bringing Nyl in and Nyl breaking Izzy free. She suspects it's something else entirely. She would have shared all of this with Nyl.
Yes, Solara has blanket banned all Efreeti from granting wishes. For now. But the entire Solara situation is likely to be changed drastically fairly soon. Wishes may be back on the table sooner than you think.
Raevana and Axle may be more helpful here than you realize. Raevana is, after all, intimately familiar with the inner workings of both demons and the Efreeti.
The worst enemy of the POS may be your best shot at dealing with him. He's the only thing the POS is actually scared of. And he's closer to home than you might think.

Huh. Yeah, that piece of information changes things quite a bit.
Both plans off the table. Not gonna be able to make the big play. Back to the drawing boar- ok, done.
Nyl's got one set of talking stones left and she planned to give it to someone in Axis since it would make sending and giving reports easier, but that can go out the window. Arlan would surely freak the flip out if he knew Julie had one, but at the least there's going to be a short window where they'll be free to talk.
So Arlan probably already knows Nyl's search for his nephew is just a distraction. If he doesn't, he'll figure it out. It's also possible that distraction or not he just can't afford to ignore it... Anyway. When he shifts his attention back to the main party, that should be enough of a distraction for the PoS to deliver it and, I dunno, stand around to make sure she's not overheard by anyone else. Possibly even manage to convince him into letting getting to eavesdrop on that conversation be part of his pay, too.
Distraction inversion.
...But why would the PoS be afraid of Aaron?

Letting the PoS listen in is a terrible idea. Even if Julie does share the secret, if PoSsy pants acts on it Arlan might assume she spread it, which is... bad. Then again, he'll probably just eavesdrop and hear anyway... Hm.

It's low-key Warin, he's been playing you all. I only say it now because it's too late to stop him.

Why would you think it's Aaron? It's not. Because he has that weird vision thing he does. The only others I can think of are Raizel or Arlan...? Unless Talon secretly has a way to reverse their deal.

I'll give you another hint: The PoS has a strict policy to never make deals with entities stronger than him. He's only ever broken that policy once.

Don't tell me he tried to make a deal with Manu...
Presumably if it's Rai, he wouldn't risk meeting with Nyl. Then again, some of his goons greeted her at the town gate.
Amegadala? As far as we know, there's no way to communicate with them. Then again, we haven't really tried. Communication would be a thing the PoS is stupid good at.
He seemed hesitant to open a portal to the Lich King's base... But it's the Lich King. Nah.
Solara... is a possibility...? Nah, he wouldn't have taken her whatever that treasure was as payment if it was her.
Oh... I suddenly have a feeling he might react a bit to Nyl, and not because of Rai. It's everyone's favorite archdemon.

It's everyone's favorite archdemon. I'm fairly certain it has come up before around you guys as fellow players, somewhere mid session, that Talon struck a deal with the PoS to get Seren out of the Necropolis and to safety. Maybe not in such exact language, but that's that. The PoS only kept about half of that bargain. Talon surely intends to pay him a visit later and discuss the issue of the payment for a deal that was never completed.

...Oh. I took him off the list, but Talon... would be stronger than an icon, wouldn't he.

...Oh. I took him off the list, but Talon... would be stronger than an icon, wouldn't he. Placing where he's at on a scale would be tough. Former icon, found a wellspring. Even if we consider him when he's freed from the contract with the Lich King, and thus able to do whatever he pleases, we also have to remember that he's currently not immortal. At least until he catches back up to the PoS.

I guess the key here is that he was stronger than the PoS when they first made the deal.
So... what? Claim that since the PoS didn't deliver in full, he gets everything back? Try to take half the payment back? Demand the PoS compensate with more stuff?

Would the PoS immediately drop dead from old age, or just start aging normally?

Would the PoS immediately drop dead from old age, or just start aging normally? The deal was just 4-ish years ago, so he's probably not pushing it so much as to immediately drop dead.
